We napped a great deal yesterday, so when it was time for bed we weren't sleepy but gave it a try anyway. One of our neighbors down the street decided to have a party complete with load music starting at mid and getting loader and louder. He finally called the police at about 2am. So we didn't get a lot of sleep either. Poor Hubby, more than me, I just slept late.

We are feeling better today, I was afraid to eat anything yesterday so I expected to wake up starving today.

Going to try for a workout later today.

Good afternoon. I didn't get a chance to check-in yesterday but I see everyone has been active - way to go :bravo:

August 11: 32 mins on the Stairmaster + 17 mins of abs.
August 12: Weights - legs 47 mins + some floorwork exercises.

Penguin, thanks for the info about the tickers :) I decided to add it to my siggy here. That sucks about the party. I hope you are able to get some rest today.

Onderchic, good luck with your weight routine today! Good job on the cardio!

Skinnyjeans, that sounds like a good plan.

I am very late posting to this thread this month. Looks like everyone has been quite busy! I was on an Alaskan cruise and kept track of my exercise while there. Despite the fact that I exercised and tried to eat well, I gained 7 pounds while there! I know a lot of it was sodium.... I'm back to my normal routine and plenty of water and I've taken off 4 of the 7 pounds in just the past few days. Hopefully the other 3 pounds will come off soon.

My goal for August is to exercise 1200 minutes and 22 days.

August
1: 45 minutes elliptical
2: none
3: 45 minutes running on cruise ship!
4: 30 minutes running on cruise ship!
5: 30 minutes jogging through Juneau!
6: 30 minutes running on treadmill in gym on cruise
7: on board "Race for a Cure 5K"-- 40 minute fast walk then 30 minute run around ship (2 more miles)-- total 70 minutes
8: 60 minutes walk around Victoria, B.C.
9: 45 minutes elliptical
10: 65 minutes boxing boot camp
11: 45 minutes elliptical
12: 60 minutes spinning class
13: none
14: 45 minutes elliptical
15: 60 minutes fast walk
16: 45 minutes elliptical
17: 60 minutes boxing boot camp class
18: none
19: 60 minutes spinning class
20: 60 minutes latin dance class
21: 35 minutes running on treadmill
22: 60 minutes (30 on elliptical and 30 walking to and from the gym)
23: 45 minutes elliptical
24: none
25: none
26: 60 minutes spinning class
27: 30 minutes elliptical

Total so far:
22 days
1085 minutes

I tried out more of The Best of Tamilee DVD set today. I did the warmup, Buns, Thighs, and one of the abs sections plus the stretch; probably close to an hour total. I didn't like the Buns or Thighs sections, Tamilee went a little faster than I like during lunges etc and I kept losing my balance or getting confused. I think I figured out part of why I like slower workouts; we were doing pile squats and I have to go down pretty low before I feel my glutes engage, which doesn't happen at all at the faster speed, so I feel like I'm just pulsing the whole workout, without getting full range of motion. I liked the ab section fairly well. This is the two DVD set and Buns in on one DVD while Thighs is on the other; Grr, I hate changing DVD's. What I do like is that the set is very mix and match so I can do whatever I feel like today. I'm not sure I'll keep this one, but I haven't tried either yoga, the cardio, or the other abs section.
