+3.

Hey I'm running in a 5K next Saturday. It is the community open 5K before the University's invitational XC meet. Lest year my goal was less than 30 minutes and I did it in 28+ I believe. I think my goal is the same this year. :0)

dixied 08-30-2009 10:24 AM

I'm up to 530 this morning and will be adding another 5-6 at the track this afternoon.

Midwife - you're fast! My goal for any race is just to finish. :D

Mrs Snark 08-31-2009 07:58 AM

+3.6 miles Saturday and 5 miles on Sunday...

Good luck this coming Saturday, Midwife, that sounds like fun!

Mrs Snark 09-01-2009 07:58 AM

+ 6 miles this morning. Longest run I've done in a while, I've been focusing more on intervals/HIIT and biking recently.

I can't wait for the weather to cool off, it was 99% humidity this morning, like running through soup.

Mrs Snark 09-01-2009 08:06 AM

Hey Dixie, LOVE your new avatar/profile shots. You are just spectacularly gorgeous!

I was noticing that too :)

OK, yesterday I reminded myself that this goal of 1000 miles is very important to me. I will not stop keeping track or staying accountable. I will adjust my ticker accordingly and take it from there.
+6 run yesterday am and another 6 walked yesterday afternoon.

I want to start doing strength training with those exercise tv shows and every 20 mins will count a mile. Does that sound reasonable?

midwife 09-01-2009 09:20 AM

I agree, Dixie! You are gorgeous!!!

3.5 miles today. My quads felt like lead bricks glued to my femurs due to a particularly evil weight workout last night but I did it!

Thanks for the well wishes for the race coming up...The boys high school varsity race begins 45 minutes after the community race, so I have great motivation to get my rear through the course in a timely fashion, lest I be mowed down.

dixied 09-01-2009 09:54 AM

Ya'll are too sweet! :o

3 miles of walking today for me, it's my active rest day.

Midwife - large groups behind you are really motivating. In the St. Patricks day run the Marine platoons are started last, running in formation and calling cadence. It kept me going, the thought of being run over by Marines. :D

midwife 09-02-2009 09:22 AM

I would be so motivated if Marines were after me! Motivated to step to the side and enjoy the view as they pass.

3 miles today!

MBN 09-03-2009 06:21 AM

772 miles year to date ... still tracking!

Mrs Snark 09-03-2009 07:46 AM

+ 2.44 miles easy run yesterday on the treadmill...

kittycat40 09-03-2009 09:49 PM

+1.5 Tuesday, elliptical
+3.1 today, treadmill

Mrs Snark 09-04-2009 07:58 AM

+ 3.3 miles this morning...

I just read back and realized I missed an entire page!

Midwife - your 5k is this weekend, right? Good luck! :)

Dixie - I noticed the new pic, too - gorgeous!

Tyler - love the ocean in the background in your pic!

Kitty - 20 mins = 1 mile sounds reasonable. Can I count 1 mile for mowing my lawn? I make lots of laps back and forth in the yard! :)

I did a side by side comparison of my elliptical & my treadmill yesterday... I did 1.25 miles in 12:30 on the treadmill, to get the same distance according to my formula on the elliptical took almost 20 minutes... The makes of my treadmill say that 300 revolutions of the wheel are a mile, I've been using 1000 as my mile figure based on my formula using the circumference of the wheel and the distance it turns. There is a mixed school of opinion on the web - lots of folks posted the 1000 revolutions = 1 mile using the same formula I used, others swear that the 300 revs = 1 mile is totally accurate. I would be so much further along in my mileage if I believed that 300 revs = 1 mile! :)

Good day everyone!
