me4life~ Welcome! Your BF sounds great! I wish mine was willing to go on walks with me!
ConfessorSiuan~ I hope you're feeling better!!!
GypsyLove~ Sounds like some great goals! I'm starting week 6 of C25K this week and was amazed that running for 20 minutes straight was not as hard as I thought it would be. Sounds like you're a little ahead of me, what week are you on?
Lewisempire~ How was your hike?
I have to say that I like the one big group idea compared to the teams much better as there is so much more chatting going on and more people to connect with. I'm sorry again for not being able to post results from the last challenge as it just didn't make any sense to do so. I do have both spreadsheets if anyone would like to take a look at them. Just let me know and I will email them to you!
I had a great weekend!!! I was super busy but I was able to plan, pack and stay OP all weekend. I didn't get as many steps as I would have like on Saturday but did great yesterday to make up for some of it.
Reminder~ Please post your steps so I can start crunching numbers.
KimL1214, I'm only on week 5 day 2, well actually yesterday was supposed to be day 2 but I thought it was the same as day 1 like the past few weeks have been so tomorrow is really day 2 for me. I never thought I would actually LOVE running but I do it's awesome! I love how free I feel and how it clears my mind when I do it. Of course that only applies to when I get to do it outside, I hate the treadmill.
How was everyone's weekend? How was the hike Lewisempire? Kim, I do like the big chats as well. I just wish I had more time to post besides my quick updates.
We went ice fishing yesterday, big even for my son's preschool group, so it was busy. Lot's of walking back and forth with the kids between the campfire and the fishing holes. I actually used the auger to drill a hole and got some upper arm workout too! We ended up leaving early since my youngest lost his balance and fell with his arm in the hole. He was more wet than anything, so we quickly had to strip his coat and mitts of and get him warm. It's a good thing the holes are only about 6 inches across. It was a lot of fun though and we got so much fresh air it just tired us all out! Needless to say we all slept very well last night.
Hi girls!
I had fun hiking, but I didn't get as many steps as I usually get! I sure did enjoy the sunshine this weekend, but we are expecting snow tonight?????!!!
I was kinda lazy this week, and my numbers show it (so do the scales) of course TOm cravings didn't help either!
ConfessorSiuan~sounds like you had fun! Glad you are feeling better and getting out and about!
Gypsylove~ you could almost talk me into running....almost! Haha! but good for you for finding something you like doing!
Me4life- gotta love those pups! They do help rack up the steps! We put a pedometer on our dog, and she did 4x what my pedometer showed! Not sure how accurate it was, but she does run circles around us most of the time, Literally!
Kim 1214- I don't really mind not getting last weeks tally of steps....but I looked back on the logs for both teams, and one persons steps really were impressive! Maybe we should acknowledge her somehow. I think her name was Lyndavan. She really, really was off the charts with her steps! I vote she won last weeks challenge! Just a thought

GypsyLove~ I hate the treadmill too, but the weather has been so icky lately.
ConfessorSiuan~ Sounds like fun!!!
Lewisempire~ Good idea!!!
As results were not posted for the overall team results from our last step challenge, a suggestion was made that an individual champion be crowned! Congratulation Lyndavan for dominating the last couple weeks of the challenge! Lyndavan averaged over 16,000 steps a day, easily walking away with the championship title! Great Job!!!
Week 2 challenge is posted...
I just couldn't get to 10,000 last night. I wandered around in circles in my apartment for what felt like forever, but still just barely broke 9,000. The weather has been so miserable over the past few days that it's really put a damper on my exercise... I wish I could afford a gym membership...
I think I'm going to have to start walking in circles at home too! I just can't seem to get my numbers up. The boys keep me busy and you'd think I'd have more steps because of them.
I got them out for a walk last night, so that was good. I went to bed nice and early so I could wake up and do my walking and yoga. So 5:30am comes and I get up and ready and one of the boys woke up and it took forever for him to go back to sleep and then the next boy woke up and by this time I knew it wasn't happening! I was pretty bummed! But I did get to the gym today and did my strength training. Now I have to get moving! Have a great day everyone!
i've been trying to improve on my running in addition to all the walking i seem to do in the evening...i managed 2 miles (walk/run) in 32 minutes which for me is great.
I'm having trouble hitting my step mark, too. They weather has been bad. Today was nicer, but still chilly and windy. I walked at the mall for 45 and jogged on the mini trampoline for 15 minutes. That helped a little. I can't wait until it's warm enough in the morning for a walk.
ConfessorSiuan~ Great job getting to the gym at least!!!
me4life~ that's a great time! you can make mini challenges for yourself now to beat that time...
wendyland~ I wish the weather would get better too!!!
Bad step day again yesterday. I feel like I have no time to do anything and getting steps in is just not fitting in my day. I had practices until 6 last night and then had to pick my BF up at 6:45, so by the time I got home it was almost 8 and I was pooped. Hopefully I'll do better today!
well i had a nasty fall on ice today gave me an instant headache but doesn't appear to be any damage also had long upper body workout out so i need to get moving so i can count those steps
I got all my steps in today and also did weight and core training at the gym so I felt great. Of course that didn't last long since my bf wanted to go eat dinner at the local diner and I ate like a pig ugh! sigh...I hate eating out I never seem to be able to control myself.
I'm donig good. Just letting you all know I'll be out of town until tomorrow but I'm bringing my computer with me, so I'll post my number tomorrow still.
Okay, I'm still here and still step step stepping away! For those walking in circles around their apartments, this was my solution the other night. When I got off work, I stopped at the grocery store (or any big store- if the food is a temptation, try Home Depot) and just walk the aisles!
My apartment is only 20 steps from back bedroom wall to front door and there is no way I could get more than a couple hundred in that way.
Getting ready to hit the 5k fitness trail after work tonight. Really can't wait.
KimL1214, I don't mean to be a nuisance and I'm happy that my steps were so good last week but wasn't the first challenge to get over 10,000 steps at least 3 times? I'm only asking because I know I only got it twice while a few others did meet the challenge. I don't want to steal another's glory so to speak. I'll make sure to post if I do or don't make the challenge next time sorry about that! Thanks!
