Default I know it's alot but..

I'm trying to do 21 hours of exercise the week of 21-27. that's 3 hours a day. I'm waking up at 4:00 and working out for 2 hours and 1 hour after school

I thought posting it here would motivate me to stick to what I say I'm going to do.

Wish me luck. Time to kick my butt into shape. Pretty excited.

(btw, I'm a pretty moderately active teen so it's not like i'm jumping into this completely out of shape. just really want to push myself next week)

3 hour's .... I'm from tomorrow going to attempt one. As I'm very unfit and currently don't do any exercise at all. I have a treadmill so I'm going to walk fast and run when I can. Maybe alternate 2 min running 2 min walking.

Good luck with your 3 hour's, hope i get there soon.

You may want to check out the C25K thread....a number of us are on the program which is alternating walking/jogging times with the goal of reaching 5K in a 9 week period.

Good luck ladies with 3 hours a week....you will be fit in no time!

Please oh please take a rest day, buddy! It's a great goal to try and up your exercise, but that's really intense. If you want to do your three hours a day I would suggest doing it six days a week; give yourself a breather!

lol! well I was sick at the beginning of the week so I didn't exercise, then I got lazy and decided not to exercise the rest of the week. Now I want to make up for it.

Yeah...but don't try to do it all in one week! If you were sick your body needs a chance to adjust again. Why not do 2 hours a day 6 times per week over a couple of weeks?

good luck with with that. i would alternate jogging and walking since it's your first time. (I want to try that cool runner page myself soon)

I'm more of an extreme kick boxer myself (lots of taebo, kickboxing classes, and aerobics). I like to jog as well. I need to stop kicking and jog haha.

good luck...just becareful you don't overdo it and end up hurting your self. That's a lot of exercise in one week and it may cause shin spiints or platar fascitis. I would highly recommend having at least one day of rest...7 days straight and you may end up hurting yourself.

motivation is great! But don't get so crazy you do something that makes it hard for you to workout in the furture. Also, make sure with that much exercising, you are stretching before and after to help prevent injury

I really reallyyy want to kick myself into gear though. Like I want it to be like boot camp style (haha). I want to stop being lazy and just do it. And I'm not working at all next week. I don't know. Next week I'm only going to do two hours. and then after that, 1-2 hours at the most. This is more of a kick start thing..

I'll let you know how it goes though. If i feel overworked, i can always lower my goal. (though im an extremist. i either do too much or too little)

I see you lost 5 more pounds. congrats!

It's going to be 2 1/2 hours of cardio/aerobics. and 30 minutes of strength training. so not too much strength really.

4:00-6:00 am- cardio

I'll make sure to stretch before and after. Do you guys know any remedies that could get me energized when I wake up that early morning? Some days I'm really hyped up when I wake up, other days, i just want to sleep in. Maybe caffeine could help or green tea...

Going to bed early will help you feel energized when you have to get up early. Just curious - are you in high school, and if so, do your parents know you are doing this?

Hey sweetlovin,

I'm really concerned about how extreme your plan sounds. It's not good for anyone to OVERexercise--that just breaks down muscle, leaves you tired, wears your body out.

Exercise isn't meant to be punishment! It's meant to help you be healthy, not wreck you!

It's much better to have a more reasonable period of exercise and stay with it for the long haul. For example, just do 1 hour in the morning. Make it 40 minutes cardio and 20 minutes weights. Make sure you don't use the same weights every day, that is, alternate leg workouts and arm workouts, etc.

That's what I do--and also, I take a walk for half an hour every day. I have limited time for exercise because of my job, but I've been keeping up with the gym and the walk for months now. I do it 5 or 6 times a week, but I take a day off from the gym every three days.

It might be good to talk to your parents about your plan--or to a counselor or other trusted adult, if you're not comfortable talking to one of them.

Good luck--don't overdo it--that's unhealthy... IMO

Jay

I totally agree with Jay that your goal should be to be healthy for the long haul and not just for one week, what good or purpose will that serve, .... And why just one week... Instead why not 3 weeks at one hour or 2 per day and this would set you up for a good habit instead of trying to do 3 hours and setting yourself up for failure because it IS a LOT to get up at 4AM ...

Moderation is really the key in everything we do in life...

they would probably support what im doing. They just want me to reach my goal so i can shut up haha. I honestly don't blame them

& last week, my mom nagged me on how i wasn't working out as much. I was sick and cramping so i guess she influence me in a way to kick it up?

I plan to exercise consistently. I usually do 2-3 times a week. It feels funny when I go a week without doing anything. Idk. The people on those weight loss shows do it all the time. I hate to use that as an example but..

it seems to work for them

BTW. just did 2 hours. but im counting it as 1.5 hours because I took 3 10 minute breaks.

Going to eat some eggs and lots of veggies. then off to school!

Theres three 1 hr classes at Bally's today and I'm really tempted to do them all. but idk. 4.5 hours in one day IS a bit extreme and pass my goal for the day. so ill see how i feel when I get there.
