I know it. I went out riding with a couple of cyclist friends on one of their old road bikes, and I went about a million times faster than I usually do on my ancient mountain bike. They took me on these long, slow hills that I couldn't possibly do on my bike without dying.
What kind of bike do you have, Ilene? I'm very tempted by the Specialized Sirrus, but there's a Trek model that could work as well. Both cost more than I can afford, but I have credit cards
Baffled I have the Gary Fisher Monona, it's called a fast city bike... I love it!! I also put Aero bars on it and I can lean down and relax on long smooth roads...

It is a really nice bike. I don't know if anyone around here sells Gary Fisher; Specialized and Trek seem to dominate the scene.
I just need to reconcile myself to putting another $500 on a credit card. I don't get paid until the end of September and I'm pretty much living on fumes. Argh!
Sunday=free day
Monday=3.5 miles on the treadmill & 2 mile WATP
Tuesday=3 mile walk in neighborhood, 2 mile WATP & mowed front yard-30 mns. busy day to say the least.
30 min elliptical - ow.
10 min arm bike - awkward!
20 min treadmill - ridiculously slow pace (DARN IT I WANT TO RUN)
60 min of cardio, nonetheless, though now I'm hurting a bit.
Last couple days I was off...remember the board announcement about the Woman's World story? Well, I'm it and was in LA for a photo shoot...normally this is not a problem (go for a run, hike the canyon, etc), but I DID work in a 45 min arm workout.

The magazine was looking for a cover girl who lost weight through regular ol' diet and exercise. I did my interview on Friday, photoshoot Monday, and the article comes out in the Halloween issue (the cover photo shoot was all pumpkins, orange and black clothes, and the famous "fat jeans" picture...did you know, they use the same fat jeans for EVERYONE, and they have a 60 in waist? True story).
I am impressed! You'll have to remind us/me, lol...when it gets ready to come out so we can grab it.
Got my regular 3 mile walk in this morning. Going to mow the back yard later since it is too early and still wet out. It takes 50-60 minutes to mow so a good work out for me again today.
Well, we're doing the surgery. While this means I'm likely going to be cardio-free for a good long time, its ok - the problem is going to get resolved.
Argh. These early morning trips to the gym don't leave me enough time to do a full workout. So today I did 10 mins treadmill (100 cals) and a full LBWO for another 150 cals. It's funny. I'm literally shaking with hunger; I'm usually hungry after working out, but not quite this hungry. Bodies are different early in the morning, it seems. (My HR is higher doing cardio at 7am as opposed to 9 or 10 am... That's a bit of a mystery...)
