Yesterday - 60 min on the elliptical.

My knee is making me bonkers (I am going to try to get a dr. appt today, even though i'll probably need to see an ortho), so I may stick with just some strength training today and see how it goes.

Nothing yesterday...was in a crappy mood for some reason.

OK, peeps. I'm taking today off due to the knee issue, but I need accountability of a different kind.

According to my doc (who referred me for an MRI and an ortho visit), it is very likely that I have some damage to my meniscus, which is causing my knee issues. Given that I can't see the ortho until the 22nd, I am currently restricted from doing the following:

1. Running
2. Tennis
3. LB lifting
4. Any other high-impact cardio

The following are ok:
1. Swimming
2. Stationary Bike
3. Elliptical (if it doesn't hurt)
4. UB/Abs strength training.

I, um, don't have the best track record at following doctors orders when it comes to restricting activity...so I need ya'll to watch me for the next couple weeks...if I stop posting for a few days it means that I got lazy due to the knee and i'm not doing any of the things I CAN be doing. If I post any of the "restricted" activities, please yell at me until I lose hearing in both ears.

:-(

Walked the mutts on a "almost" 2 mile walk right after work, then did a little over 1 1/2 miles on the treadmill.

Amanda be careful with that knee ~ I separated my knee in high school PE football) always bothered me then in 1990 I severed it! Good 'ol ACL surgery...out of action for 11 months...no fun. Take it easy dear...knee pain for "life" is no fun. Although mine has not hurt one bit since 1990's surgery...I am one of the lucky ones there!

Great job ladies!!

Gary - I am aware of the consequences of ignoring knee issues, I'm just stubborn. Had my first knee surgery when I was 16 and they've just always been problematic, so I get frustrated. Of course, when I tried to deal with my knees before, the docs were a chorus of "lose weight! they'll get better!". Yeah, that didn't work out so well :-) I have an MRI scheduled on the 15th and an ortho appt on the 22nd.

In the meantime, I did an arms/abs workout today - 60 min. And i'll be going to the gym to try the elliptical, or if it hurts, a recumbent bike, tonight.

HEY KIDDO ~ You do know that ellipticals are notorious for knee pain don't you? Angie and I got one of the best ones to fight against that about 7 years ago...it was not cheap...Angie couldn't handle it because of the knee pain...I was so/so...my daughter was the only one in the family that was not bothered by it...that is why she has it now and we have the treadmill Just be careful dear!

The doc cleared it as long as it isn't painful...the particular pain I have is related to to bending with weight on the leg...I don't know, we'll see. If it starts popping, I'll stop.

Ugh.

The knee needs another day, as it made clear on both the elliptical and the bike. Snap crackle pop! Ergh.
