Hi Everybody......

Grasshopper.....don't apologize for writing what you feel. This is about more than just losing weight!........sometimes I get so tired of even hearing the words "losing weight"! Anyway, I'm so sorry you're feeling down. When you're in pain a lot, like you & I, & the others, it's hard to even "pick ourselves up", let alone, "stay up". That's one thing about all of us here, we understand.

Some people can be so careless with their remarks....actually rude. Do they think we want to be this way?! For goodness sake.....If I could be slim.....& younger....I would choose it! Sorry, I guess you got me started...it just really urps me, for people to act like that!

My back problems started when I was young, also. I know it's hard on you. You want to do things others are doing, go places other are going....but it's too painful. I didn't get to go to a lot of the ballgames, etc, my son played in, or my daughter was in (flag girl)....I think they still resent me for that. It's hard to explain that you just can't stand the pain!

As far as the weight....I find every pound off my back helps. That's natural, of course. But, it's not a miracle cure...nothing is.

Just hang in there.....& come vent any time you need to.

Default Hey There

Angel-Lover,Young Grasshopper- Careless,Thoughtless, Rude, Brainless...Friends and relatives like that we don't need. I have a relative like that. I made the mistake of taking a 2 week trip with her last year, NEVER AGAIN...It is a shame how some people can say such hurtful things. That is one of the things that I like about TOPS... We are all different sizes. But I don't think there is one person in the group that sees size. We are there to help and support each other. They are like family...I look forward for thrusdays even if I haven't lost anything.. I stayed the same this week(turtle)
Grasshopper- It is good to express your feelings. You can do it whenever you need to.We are here for each other...At one time or another we all have been there...Do what I do ...avoid people that upset you...Life is too short..
Glad you are feeling better Angel-Lover

Thanks Ladies!

Can't say that the back is feeling better...getting tired of my modified waddle. The doc gave me a referral for physical therepy and I think I'm going to call next week. I was putting it off until after the stress test but heck, I'll be in a hospital for PT should anything happen. Way to look on the brightside, huh?

Started a new journal last night. Have had the same one since the whole back thing started but decided that I needed a fresh start. No more ranting! Okay, think you all know me by now...their will be ranting but I'm using to set goals. Took one of the horrible pictures from the bridal shower...one that makes me cringe to see it....took a perm. marker, drew lines, and then measured myself and wrote it on the picture. The pic is now in my new journal and I'm going to use that as a starting point. One day I hope to show it with pride as my before picture.

Met a nice woman in chat last night named Loo. She has back problems too....told her to come find us. Hope she does

Hope everyone has a great long weekend!

Deb

P.S. How are you guys feeling? Any better?

Hi Young Grasshopper!
Do you remember me? It's me, Viking mom, from the chat room. I was just looking at threads and noticed your name.
Anyway, it's been so nice chatting with you the past 2 mornings. I'm an early bird and you are a night owl. YG, you are a very well informed gal. Enjoyed getting to know you and talking politics.
Hope you are feeling better today. Have you taken your stress test yet?
Hi Joanne! Remember me from Referred Pain...? It's so nice to find you here too.
Do you think I could join you gals on this thread? Maybe this is just private between old friends?
If not, here goes: I've been to a soccer cup, plus I've walked 18 holes today. Boy am I ever beat! Time to go ice my poor aching feet and put my night splint on.
Take care and have a great day!

Hi All!

Hi VM!! Welcome! The more the better...was going to make a merry reference but our health issues aren't too happy. Then again, some of the pain killers can make me loopy. Don't ask, it's ain't pretty!

Back is still buggin me. Not as bad as it was, thank God, but just a continuous ache. Thought if I took a course of medications, two days, that it would relax itself out. No luck yet. Definately need to call about physical therepy. The stress test isn't until 9/11....not to happy about that date but it's the first they have open.

It's been great talking to you VM! Don't know how much longer my night owl trend will computer. Use my brother's computer while he's out of town and he'll be back tuesday. Oh well. But hope to see you on Sunday night . Angel and Joanne, if you're awake around 11:30/midnight...come to chat.

It's a hot day here and the house has construction guys all over the front. Joy! Well, at least I feel like we're making some progress....feel like I live in the money pit.

So, how is everyone? Feeling good I hope! I'm going swimming as soon as the construction guys are gone. Have a great weekend!

Hi ladies!
YG, I made it too late to the chat room today. I'm sorry, but I managed to sleep until 5:45 a.m. this morning. I got on line at 6:15, but it was too late. The chat room is empty. Normally, the referred pain from my hips to my thighs, lower spine and knees wakes me up around 4a.m. Until the other day, I had always just read a book in the middle of the night. It was great meeting you and making a new friend.
Do you have access to your brother's pc during the daytime? If so, maybe you could go into the chatroom either in the morning or around lunch sometime? I normally check out posts and read my PMs between 6 - 7 a.m. my time, before I have to get my kids ready for school. Then, I normally write e-mails and reply to threads etc between 8:30 - 9:30 after I''ve driven my kids to their perspective schools. My best times do not coincide with your best times, unfortunately. This is a good alternative though, isn't it?
Thanks for letting me join YG. Just hope the other gals are ok with it. If not, just let me know. Actually, I already know Joanne and I've also met Angel lover on one of my threads. Great gals with wonderful advice.
I am taking Judy's advice and have started a 2 - 3 week trial diet to see if it might help reduce my pain, so that I can sleep better at night especially. I am eliminating all animal products from my diet. The cheese part will be the hardest. On Saturday, I went to the Health food store ( about half the size of a 7-11 because they are not popular here in Norway) and bought all the meat substitutes and cheese substitutes I could find. I even bought Soy milk fortified with calcium... Hope these food items don't taste like.... Anway, I'm motivated and willing to try any sensible suggestions in order to bring this arthritis pain under control. Anybody care to join me? Looking for a veg. buddy.
GH, you have buddied up with one of the nicest people I have ever gotten to know. Megami is a gem. I just adore her and I know you will too. Good luck with the water aerobics program!!! I am going to look for a more suitbable group here in Norway. If I can find one, I'll join you gals.
Take care and hope everyone is feeling a little bit better.

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been on much lately but I think I am up and running again.

Angel, thanks for your concern, I am sorry that you are having such a rough time, hang in there.

Grasshopper, it sounds like you and I are two of a kind, I need to loose at least 80 lbs. and I have so much pain in my back that I cannot walk much or exercise. I am having a cortizone shot in my back next week and hopefully I can move without so much pain.

I walk by the mirror in a store and I think oh my God what happened to me, where did I go and how did I allow this to happen.

We visited my mother-in-law on the weekend and took her out for supper. While at the restraunt we met a couple of people that my husband went to school with. When he introduced me I could have died, the other lady was very attractive and was wearing a nice pant suit, sandles and everthing was just perfect. I on the otherhand knew that I must have looked like an overstuffed older woman (even though I am the same age) I was very embarassed.

Every Monday I say today is the day but I never seem to stick to it and then I just give up and go back to my over-eating.

Sorry to complain so much it must be that summer has come to an end and I feel like the goodyear blimp.

Take care everone!
