Mima... with all that you will not be wearing a crown next week you will gain back that 1/2 ... I'd gain 5 just looking at all that food!!!

GEE - Thanks for the advise Candice! Might be kind of hard to breath, though ... What is an Ester Williams swimsuit???

Ally ... It looked like I WAS looking in a circus mirror ... you know ... the kind that makes you look short and fat. And I'm 5' 9".

I was doing great yesterday ... with the shock of the bathing suit experience, all I had to eat all day was a sm bag of M&Ms ... then hubby took me to Red Lobster for our anniversary. Oh well - at least I only ate one meal and no dessert. And, actually, I only ate half of my meal. That's what I have decided to do. I did this once before and it worked pretty good - I lost 23 pounds in 2 months. I cut my food intake in half. I ate the same as I had been except for cutting out some of the fat and sweets but I just cut everything in half. I would fill my plate the same. Then I'd start eating. I'd start on the foods I liked the best and leave what I didn't really care for until last. I'd make sure I left about half of my food on my plate. If I wanted dessert, I'd have it but only half. If I got hungry I'd eat but only half of what I'd normally have. I was never hungry and I lost about 2 or 3 pounds every week except the first which I lost 5. It drove hubby nuts, though. Especially when we ate out (and we do that a lot). Because I'd leave half my food. He said he didn't know why I got the sea food bar or a steak or 20 shrimp etc, etc, etc, when I wasn't going to eat it. He was fussing about it one night and I told him to just shut up. I said I'm sick of hearing you gripe about how much I eat. My dinner cost the same as yours. You ate what you wanted and I ate what I wanted. I don't know what your problem is but I'm sick of hearing about it and if you don't stop griping about it I'm going to start *****ing about how much you eat! (HE EATS A LOT!!!) He never did say anything else!

Well-it gets worse-went to the church picnic-had 3 desserts including Brad's lopsided birthday cake which was deliscious-started off today with Special K-have to walk this week. Well back to the elderly-my sister-in-law came home from vacation to an ill father-his heart went into cardiac arrest and when they revived him, his behavior went out of whack-she is an only child so it's quite a burden. Today they are doing a catscan. Well, I have a list a mile long to accomplish all week -we are having company next weekend so I have motivation to clean up some-guess I'll go to the chiro too.My back is twingy.Meme-husbands are loke that when you try to diet-they always try to fix things. I used to call my late husband the food police. And tell him to be quiet. But now Brad is complaining about how I sent out his bills so I said he could expect me to be perfect when he was-I'm always after him for slips to record and to collect money from people. Well, bye for now Mima

Default Hey There

Mima- Sounds like you had a good time this weekend--Men are the same the world over. They have to be the police of something.
Ally- The worst thing about buying a bathing suit is the mirrows in the dressing rooms. I remember leaving a dressing room in tears one time. They show everything.
Meme- I like your idea about eating half. I remember during the time I lived with my G/mother. I must have been ten. She used to say eat everything on your plate. There are hungry people out there. I sometimes think of that . So I get a small plate.
I walked yesterday. Not up to it today. I see a Dr. tomorrow. I guess he will want me to have a colonoscopy. I hate those things but I guess it is a way to get to the solution of the problem. Maybe it is nerves.
Hello everybody...Joanne

Joanne ... I had an overweight friend once who always said it was the D*** little Chinese kids fault that she was fat because her mother always said, "eat your food - don't you know there are little kids over in China who are starving to death?"

Angry Hi

Mima - sounds like you enjoyed your weekend. Now you have to cut back and step out:lol Glad you are liking your new computer.

Joanne - hope you find out what is going on with your digestive system. I know how much you dislike missing your walk. Hope you will soon be back at it.

Meme - I guess we were all brought up that way! All those starving kids. No wonder we eat it all up:lol

Well, I went to my sons for brunch yesterday and had a nice afternoon. Today, I just kind of spent doing nothing. Had my grand daughter here on Saturday all day, so I was ready for a rest. Tomorrow, I have to go back to Red Deer to the Dr. I had an appointment scheduled 6 months ago with a Dermatologist, so I have to keep it. I also decided to fill up the day, and will have a mammogram done, go see my regular Dr. and get a haircut. I will stay overnight at my cousins and come home Wednesday, making a stop at the chiro on my way home. Then I will spend the next couple of days vegetating! The on Saturday, I have to do it over again, but this time to attend a 40th Anniversary party for very good friends. Then I think I can stay home!!!!!!! To tell you the truth, I am tired just thinking about it.

Hi Ally and Anagram. Hope you all have a good day tomorrow.

DH never comments on what I eat but I comment on what he eats! I grew up hearing about those starving kids too! I use a small plate when I am at home, makes it look like you have more on it! Happy Anniversay Meme!

Happy..how far is it you have to travel? No package yet...can't wait!

Mima...3 desserts..bet they were yummy! If you ate jsut a smidgen of them you should be ok

Ally...maybe you should mention something to your friends or maybe they do not care! I do not like weraing fone now cause my legs are flabby..that darn old age and gravity and weightloss!

Joanne..you having stomach problems? I hate colonoscopies....I still feel it when they say you are supposed to not feel anything! I am having that darn pelvic pain again and refuse to got the colon doc cause I know what he will suggest!

Storms here again and some of my hanging pots blew down and broke along with some other stuff. Mother nature can be so cruel!

Joanne-everyone I know is having a colonoscopy including me-It's the day before that is difficult. But the actual procedure is easy and you are medicated. Hope all is well. I was mostly good eating yesterday and real busy-today I am going to walk with auntie-hope it doesn't rain. Boy, you are busy Anne-I get nostalgic when I go back to the place where I lived before-but it's only 30 minutes away so I still make my appts there-tomorrow it;s the chiro and the hairdresser. Now we have a front porch-and the man is coming back today to work on the stairs. Bathing suits-I have the same ones I've had in a while/ Most of my swimming friends are bigger than me-ha!!!!I'll get a new one in FL although I like the speedo ones with the regular leg from Sam's club-like I said, I'm not proud. Bye for now Mima

Good Morning, Ladies!

Mom's still in hospital and hour and a half away and we went to dh's hometown three hours away over the weekend for a bd party for his good friend. Big weekend for him to finally be able to get back there.

However I feel I'm in the car more than not lately (like Anne this week). Have not been doing badly other wise. Just lots to do as usual.

But am planning to do water workout today and haven't been really bingeing. Just the usual "not always the best choices" when on the road, etc.

Bough two bathing suits a couple of weeks ago and it was the easiest that experience has been in years. I'm still way too heavy but I feel so much slimmer with the 40 pounds off. Actually tried on five, three fit well, bought two. Haven't worn them yet as still have two decent ones I'm wearing. But with the pool workouts I go through them like mad from the chemicals.

Have a good one, all.

Talking To start your day

Never Anger Your Nurse

A bigshot business man had to spend a couple of days in the hospital.

He was a royal pain to the nurses because he bossed them around just like he did his employees. None of the hospital staff wanted to have anything to do with him.

The head nurse was the only one who could stand up to him. She walked into his room and announced, "I have to take your temperature."

After complaining for several minutes, he finally settled down, crossed his arms and opened his mouth.

"No, I'm sorry, the nurse stated, "but for this reading, I can't use an oral thermometer."

This started another round of complaining, but eventually he rolled over and bared his behind.

After feeling the nurse insert the thermometer, he heard her announce, "I have to get something. Now you stay JUST LIKE THAT until I get back!"

She leaves the door to his room open on her way out. He curses under his breath as he hears people walking past his door, laughing. After almost an hour, the man's doctor comes into the room.

"What's going on here?" asked the doctor.

Angrily, the man answers, "What's the matter, Doc? Haven't you ever seen someone having their temperature taken before?"

After a pause, the doctor replies, "Yes, but never with a daffodil!"

Zucchini Crust Pizza

Servings: 1 (the whole thing!)

Crust: (makes a large round crust)
3 cups shredded zucchini -- strained for 30 minutes, then squeezed to
make sure all liquid is gone
1/3 cup Egg Beaters® 99% egg substitute

1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper -- I like to use red, orange, yellow,

1/3 cup lowfat part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon parmesan cheese

Mix all crust ingredients together very well. Spray pizza pan with a
little pam and spread mixture evenly over pan. Bake at 425 for 8-10
minutes. When crust is done, layer other ingredients on top and bake for
10 minutes. Broil for another 2 minutes. (Vegetables were not added to
the nutritional information)

I had to go and buy a scale, my old one was stuck at 140. I should have kept it. I have gained ten pounds. I guess it is good I know, I just suspected it up until now and stayed away from things I knew wouldn't fit.
And my fat bathing suit friends. I really wish that I could get to that place where you say you just don't care, that if you want to swim you will do it. I have broken veins and flabby upper thighs. Hate how my legs look. The good news is now I have a chest...but I figure no one is looking at that...they are just looking at my ugly legs. There was a woman today in the grocery store who had nice shaped legs and she must've been a looker in her day. But I would say she is now over 70 and they are all covered with veins etc. I envy her for just wearing shorts anyway. I stick to capri pants....
Looks like we are all still trying to lose...except maybe Candice??? I am well into Carbohydrate withdrawal.

Default Hey There

I won't know anything until next Wednesday. I still say that it is something minor and all I will need to do is change my diet. Ofcourse they always want to give you a high priced med. that the insurance will not cover. We already spend in the neighborhood of $400 + for meds. I always say you get better when you go to the Dr. Right now I have the pain in my stomach/abdomen.
Abby- My son went looking for a scale. He tried them out and would you believe they all showed a different weight. He spent over $50 for one and threw it in the garbage. So far he has bought 3.. I told him ,get one and use it. The wt. goes down you will be happy. I have had the same one for several years. It is pretty close to the WW/Tops scale so I keep it...I think my daughter paid about $ 20 for it and gave it to me for christmas.
Don't worry about what people think about you in a swim suit..You won't have any fun. I always said "they don't pay my bills."
Hope everyone is doing well...Joanne

Have a good day-Mima
