Default Hey There

Meme- Turning your money/bank accts. homes etc over to relatives is a whole new can of beans.. Know your kid!!I have seen some really tragic things happen in that area.. Good idea with the baby monitor...I agree that we all should be as self sufficient as possible. I find our kids are trying to" take care of us lately". I tell them. I haven't lost it yet.
Mima- A new computer! That's nice. Have fun with it.
Got to the Dr. today and now I need to see another one for some uncomfortabe tests. Yuk...Anything they throw at me shouldn't be much worse than it already is. There is a solution.
Bye...Joanne

My daughter tries that "taking care of Mom" thing on me sometimes and it drives me nuts. I'm only 56 and can take care of myself just fine thanks. Been doing it for a very long time ... and her, too!!! AND her family! I think when they reach a certain age they think they know more than we do and want to take over the parenting! Take for example when I had that bad cold and cough and the fatigue from anemia she swore up and down that I was having heart failure and sent me all this crap via email about heart failure symptoms - sure you had a cough and fatigue but you also had swelling in your feet and abdomen and pain in your chest and arms and you spit up pink foam and a lot of other symptoms that I didn't have. Just because I had a history of heart failure in my family and had a bad cough she was positive I was having heart failure. Bugged me to death about it. I had an appointment in Nashville to see the Rheumatologist and she called me the day before and begged me to cancel it (after waiting 4 weeks to see him) and try to get in to see one of the heart Drs. at the hospital here. There was just no reasoning with her. I just couldn't convince her it was just a cold and allergies causing a cough plus fatigue from anemia. I finally got an inhaler and got over the cough and she believed me and stopped her nagging. If this is any indication of what she is going to be like as I get older I dread it!!! See...my parents never did any "parenting". I did pretty much whatever I pleased growing up. I went to school ... or not. I always made mostly As with a few Bs thrown in so they didn't care if I stayed home now and then. I'd write an excuse and they'd sign it, no questions asked. I ate whatever I wanted ... or nothing at all ... no questions asked. I'd go to bed whenever ... or not at all. Get up whenever, etc. etc. I more or less raised myself. I never remember being 'tucked in' or being read a story or kissed goodnight (or even told goodnight!). No one was home when I got home from school for quite a few years. I was on my own A LOT! I got myself ready for school, did my own hair, chose my own clothes. I'm not used to having someone worry about me ... and I'm not about to start now!

Oh ... By the way ... I KNOW my kids ... both of them. They are both Christians. Wonderful kids! Honest, beautiful, I'd trust either one of them with every thing I have or will ever have in a heart beat! And if I didn't have a dime I know they would both do their best to take care of me. BUT! I'm not ready to turn over my small amount of earthly goods to anyone just yet! (Even though my mind is not quite that sound!!!

Good Morning everyone. Hope you are having some nice warm weather. Here it is simply beautiful. Hot, with a little breeze. Perfect days.

Candice - mailed it yesterday. Sent it airmail so you should get it early next week, I would think.

Meme - I trust my kids totally as well; however, as long as I am able to look after myself, I won't need them to do it. So far they have never mentioned it, thank goodness. My son has told me that we will NEVER go without. I have two great kids.

Mima - I am glad you are liking that new computer. Did you get windows XP in it? That is such a nice program to work with. As for the stamp, it costs us 85 cents to send a letter to the US, but I have no idea how much it would cost to send a letter from the US to Canada. You will have to check that out with your post office.

Hi Joanne, Anagram and Ally.

Hope you all have a great day.

Yes, I have EXP and it's awesome. I also have the DSL so I go online in an instant. Yesterday I bent down to use the fax machine which I put on the floor because my new computer takes up all the room-wow, my back went crazy and I was in a lot of pain til the afternoon-I had to cancel all my plans for the day. It still hurts but it's localized. Tough to get old-huh? I am lucky that it subsided. Have to go to TOPS-someone else will have to move the scale. We have a big one. We are also having a potluck supper tonight. Bye for now-Mima

Tried on my cute little Capri pant outfit that I bought last year after I really got into walking. Can't bend over in it. I am still walking but I am eating too much.
I would like to keep off that weight over the winter...but after I walk all summer, I eat all winter. Like a squirrel. A Fat squirrel.

Default Hey There

Ally- Don't give up. You will get back into those capri pants again.. I kept a pair of jeans in my closet about 15 years waiting till I woke up and could wear them again. When I finally got down in weight and remembered them They were too large. I still didn't give up. I took them up and wore them. They are now cut off to shorts. Those things will never wear out. They are faded but I don't care.
Hello everybody..Hope you are having a good weekend...Joanne

With all you have been through Meme, it's hard to lose. I blew it last night, we went to the Chinese restaurant and the movies and today is the church picnic-it's also Brad's birthday so I made him a special breakfast. It's a beautiful day. Gotta go get ready for the picnic. Waiting for my brother to let me know how his father-in-law is,. He is in intensive care and I want to know if I should go to the hospital but no news is good news. Bye for now Mima

SWIM SUIT SHOPPING? Oh Meme, that should be outlawed. They should provide valium and circus mirrors.
I will go for a short vacation with two friends out of town and we all say we will put on our suits and get in the pool, and I bet I chicken out. My suit is ten years old and is a size TEN, and I am not buying another. That will be my excuse. My friends are both severely overweight and they just waddle out to the pool and don't even notice that everyone turns their head and stares. And they really do. I don't think I would make head turns, but I sure don't want to walk by a mirror...
Am going to do low carb again and quit cheating and sneaking bad food.
