Default Hey

Mima- I bet that some of your stress is the diet. I found that dropping carbs was not good for me. Your sugar level drops. It made me very nervouse. Ofcourse not everyone is the same.
I started walking again. I just put on the brace and say to heck with it. I have pain almost everystep. But now I am saying it is because I have let myself get out of shape. I can't let that get in the way. Motivation...That is the answer for me..
Hello all...Joanne

Good going Joanne...but - I'm sure I don't need to tell you to be careful! - Been there, done that! I'm really bad to over-do things!

Got YET ANOTHER shot in my ankle today. The third. This time he said he gave me a double dose and he put it in a lot deeper than he did the last 2. OUCH! I'm off my feet for a few days...AGAIN! He said I was slowly heading for surgery...WONDERFUL! He said 85% of the people who come to him with Sinus Tarsi Syndrome were completely healed after 1 injection...I would have to fall into the other 15%, wouldn't I?

I also met my husband in church! 38 years ago next month!!!

It has turned cold here again...more snow tomorrow night and Thursday. Wish that ground hog had stayed in his hole this year!!!

Seems I'm not the only one not sleeping well tonight (or this morning).

Joanne, I'm feeling your pain with every step. I remember it all too well. Really wears you out with all that discomfort. And yours, meme, with the shot. I've only had one in my foot but it was more painful than those I had in knee or back. No cast, though? And hope it goes well with new meds.

I've had a lot of foggy head lately. Can't afford that. Sister has her surgery this morning, dh still has staph infection (particularly dangerous because he has artificial heart valve). This changeable weather has been so hard on me (as on all of us, apparently). Am fighting hard to be good on all levels so RA doesn't flare. Do not want to have to go back on that medicine.

Dh has dialysis this afternoon. I have no plans today except to wait for BIL call so I can call Mom and then email other sibs. I had offered to be at hospital with him during her surgery but one of her sons will be there. I'm glad I don't have to be at the hospital at 5:00 this morning but suspect that's why I'm up anyway.

And am I hungry! Can't eat yet as must wait a while after thyroid pill. Today's weigh in for me and I snuck in an early one. But I want to wait till time I usually weigh for a more accurate one.

So my plan is to wait, pray, rest and just do whatever the mood does or does not strike me. I think I'll consider it a mental health day. My other sister (RN) is planning to stop in hospital late in the day so I think I'll hold off 'til tomorrow or Friday when DSis will be more alert. I live closer so I'll be seeing her more once she's home as well.

Hope you're all up for a great day. Valentine's Day next week - any one planning to have some chocolate?

Oh Anagram-you sure have a lot of stress and yes I figured out that the diet was half of my stress-I miss eating but I'm not hungry. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow and we'll see. Went to the doc's and got a shot in my elbow, massage, and great haircut. I am really feeling good today. My leg muscles are so tight she told me to massage them every day-that's why I have so much pain when I walk-I stll haven't gone to swim and I know it would be ggod. I am planning on having Dove dark choc-it's suppossed to be good for you-but only at my reward meal. Be good everyone-we are going into the deep freeze again. Mima

Cold here again today too, Mima. Sounds like a good Valentine plan. I LOVE dark chocolate though can pass up the other.

Wish I could come to your stylist. I could use a great cut. Have not been to pool myself since late November and REALLY miss it. Each week I keep hoping I can get back. But it doesn't seem to work out. Partly because the time is sort of awkward (11:30-12:20) so a morning or an early afternoon thing can bust it up. Did finally get for my mammo yesterday though (postponed 3 times since dh illness).

Dh is back to massaging my legs nightly (or almost, if we don't fall asleep). That has helped. Ds did them sometimes when he was here. I was impressed and he has a gentler touch than Dad. Mostly mine is to keep lymphadema under control (at least that's been going well - sure weight loss has helped).

I agree lots of stress but it looks like everyone is having a real spell of that on top of the Columbia and the Iraq situation. Yesterday I CHOSE to be happy. And today as well. I think I've been fighting off a bug the last week or so. Feel somewhat better now - foggy head still there but less.

Or maybe it was the good weigh in . Down 1.2 from last week. I know SOME of that is from the week before as well when I showed only a miniscule loss. I don't lose 1.2 in one week. But happy anyway.

At least sun is out here this morning. Makes a big difference.

Hi Way Past 40 and Wildrose. Glad you are doing well on your diets. I like the low carb way of eating - it keep's the fatigue and the IBS in check for me. Also, losing weight is a bonus

Mima - If you are having cramps in the calves of your legs, Atkins says to take more potassium. I did that and it does help. I tried the Carb Addicts Diets years ago. I remember sitting there eating all those carbs at dinner. I know they have changed it since that time. It is now 1/3 of everything, I believe.

Joanne - I hope you don't force it too much and then end up not being able to walk at all!!!!! I know that we all want to be able to do the things we want to do.

Meme - Ouch!!! I got the cortisone for my arm. Now, I just have to take it into the Dr. and get the shot. Not looking forward to that at all. He is going to inject the Deltoid Muscles, kind of mid upper arm, and the elbow area. Maybe then, I will be able to lift my arm up.

Anagram - I hope your sister does well. Will keep both her and your hubby in my prayers. A Staph infection is just so terrible and takes forever to get rid of. My brother had this set in 2 days after bypass surgery and he was in the hospital for 2 1/2 month! for an operation that usually only keeps you in the hospital for 1 week. He had a staph infection in the sternum.

Hi Candice and Ally. I hope you ladies are not working too hard. Candice, do you have the bedroom ready yet? He will be ready to move on soon!! Ally, think 1 more year and then they are adults! Not that it makes much difference in the worry department, but they are then totally responsible for their own actions. You will be fine! These years are just sometimes so very taxing.

Well, two days ago, I had my eyes tested. Need to get new glasses. Haven't changed a lot, but he thought I would see better with a little stronger lens. So, have to look into that this week. Also, got my haircut. This gal cuts hair so well and it just does exactly what it is supposed to do, without any work! I love it. My regular hairdresser is a fellow, but he was not there, so I had this woman cut it. Glad I did. Now, I have to figure out how I can switch to her, because I have been going to Don for years. I hate to hurt his feelings. Any ideas on that one? He owns the shop they are in.

I have been bad since Christmas. Have maintained but have not lost anything. Now, I have to get back to it seriously. Starting today. The fatigue has been sneaking back in, so I know I am eating too many carbs. I CAN DO THIS!!!! I CAN DO THIS !!!!!

Anne...tell HER you want to switch without hurting HIS feelings. Then ask her if she could just let you know when he isn't going to be there. You could call her a week ahead of time and see if there is a day he takes off or something...then go on his day off. It isn't THAT often you need a haircut...you should be able to work around him for awhile. Then after 3 or 4 times, just start scheduling with her! If he says anything just say he was gone the last few times you wanted a haircut.

I'm going to church tonight... bored out of my mind and bad weather is going to stick me in the house for a couple of days. I know I'm not supposed to...but since when did I ever do what I'm supposed to, anyway? We're having a social and I need to get out of here! I have a bunch of stuff running on ebay... doing that has kept me sane for awhile but I have to be DOING something ... can't stand to just sit around all day! I love trading on ebay but there's just so much of that one can do!

Default Hey

I love chocolate the semi sweet dark kind. And yes I will probably have some. My hubby said to buy a box. He will take the top row and give me the bottom
Ally- You mean you haven't gotten rid of the hubby on a permanent basis...Maybe he has changed and waitng to come back? That happens sometimes. Joke
Happy- I think that I have foolishly let myself go downhill a little. It was easier walking today. I did 2.5 miles to the beach and back. I am working on correcting the problem.
Meme- I sure hope you are doing better today. Pain is the thing that stops us cold in our tracts.
Hey you guys, I hear every day about where the Harry S Truman is being in place and the other carriers that are there to support each other whenever this thing with Irag heats up. My G/son is on that ship. Please send some prayers that way.All our boys over there can use a little extra. His name is Wayne Salls..One of my favorite guys.
Did anyone hear Powel's speech today.. Scary. He laid it all (maybe not all)out, with audio and pictures.
Bye..Joanne
