Mima, so far retirement is great! Of course, it's only been a little over a week, but I have managed to stay busy (and out of trouble). Tim and I talked last night about the possibility of a Disney trip. I'm always ready to go.

I hope I have the date right on this. Happy Birthday Joanne!!!

We are leaving for our trip in a little bit, but I had to check in first. Behave while I'm gone. We'll be back next weekend sometime.

have a great time,Tammy. Hope you get some good weather.
Happy Birthday Joanne!!!
One more day to get ready to go to Orlando overnight.Yesterday I put together our little Jamaican trip through Spirit Air. 5 nights and 6 days at Ocho Rios near where Isaac's wife lives. No car rental-they drive on the other side of the road!! Taxis!! Can't wait.We will be with a church group on Monday to see what their mission is.
Went to Perkins last night with Mike etc. What a surprise to find out a gift card was $40-that's because Brad helped fix their heat,
Brad is going to the Handyman group while I get stuff done.
Good weekend all. Mima

Good tripping everyone. Don't guess I'll be doing much traveling ... for a little while anyway. The shop where hubby works closed Thursday. We had kind-of been anticipating that happening ever sense the owner's wife died last year. He only has about one more week of work left to get out and then ... poof! He has let all but one guy go already ... he needs the other man to help him get the promised jobs finished. The biggest hassel will be our insurance. Help us pray about this. We've been married over 40 years and this is a first!

I told hubby Monday I had to lose 10 pounds. I tried on one of my spring suits and the skirt (straight) was really tight. So when he came home and told me that Thur. eve. I told him he had really motivated me. I said for one thing, I can't afford new clothes now and for another, we can cut down on groceries and eating out if I go on a strict diet. He just rolled his eyes!

So sad Meme-I pray that his great skills will help him get another job.And that you don't worry too much,
We had quite a day getting ready yesterday. It all culminated last night when we swapped cars and when the third row went up, it was wet under it. So we are airing it out now and I used fabreze. Prayers that we are ok-the car has 149,000 miles but it is a Honda.
Then the car seats!! The infant seat was broken so we could only get one from Jill so off to Walmart to buy one and also get a pump for the air mattress. We left the other one at home . Turns out that Keith is not in an infant seat so I would have had to do that. I got Debbie a car seat for 30$. I wanted to get one anyway for back home.
That's the story and I'm sticking to it.Bye for now Mima

I got lost when we changed threads. Silly me.

I am not doing well these days. I had to go to the ortho surgeon for a follow up with my arm. Arm is fine and asked him to look at my knees...which hurt so much I can barely walk some days. As if my list of problems wasn't long enough he added a new one....chondrmalacia of the petalla. From what he told me that means my knee caps are off center and don't do what they are suppose to. I begged for a shot of cortisone. No such luck. He told me to take Tylenol Arthritis...which is like eating candy. I saw my doc and he has agreed that I should go to the pain clinic....soonest appointment was JUNE. I have been put on a cancellation list and have been moved to May. My doc said he will give me all the Loratab I need. Geesh thanks.

I have had to quit bowling. I have to pay whether I bowl or not and I have been missing more than I have bowled. Season is almost over. I am not going to bowl summer season.

Hope everyone is well

Default Hey There

Well girls I had a Great Birthday. I think my kids spent way too much. They are working and I guess I feel that they should watch their money.. my son and Daughter-in law gave me a lovely two piece dress and jewelry and a few other things. my daughter gave me a new pocket book with money in the pockets and giftcertificates, sun catchers, and books. My G/children gave me cd's and sun catcher for my kitchen window... They cooked a big dinner. Too much food. I gained 3 lbs. Now I have to starve it off.I ruined my morning getting on the scale today.
Chris- you can always find us at the 3 fat chicks site..The Dr's don't give the cortisone much anymore. It distroys tissue and really doesn't heal.My son's wife gave me jar of SOMBRA that she gets at her chiropractor. It is for Arthritis pain.(Natural pain reliever). I have oa in every joint and esp my knees. I used it last night. It really helped a lot.
Meme- Too bad about your hubby losing his job. It is not easy for a man in middle years to get into a new workplace. He will probably find something and it may be better than the last.God always has a plan.
Mima- Enjoy your trip... It is always nice to go away with family.
Tammy- Yes, you had the right date ..Thank You... I hope you are have a Great time in your retirement.. The one thing I like the most is getting up when I want and doing only what I want to during the day..I don't let anyone commit me to anything..Too many years of that.
Hello Happy.. It should be warning up in your area..It was 80 here yesterday..

Glad you had a good bd, Joanne. Very nice. The older I get, the more my kids spoil me -comes with the territory. I guess.
We had a good time at Disney-pooped out at 4 so we left and finally got kome at 10. The bad gramma-me-did something stupid. I undid Keith's safety strap and he fell through the carriage-his head was stuck and he was screaming . I was alone with the 2 kids at the parade. I begged tis man to help me-he was so nice -he turned Keith's head and got him unstuck. I was trying to keep my eye on Debbie at the same time and she was watching the parade in a huge crowd of people. PTL.
Brett is checking out other states to move to and TN is one of them . He works in the plastic industry and wonders about employment and the cost of housing.
Bye for now-everyone is up. Mima

Where is everybody? Are you all busy, sick or just lazy?

Had an eye dr. app. this afternoon. He did a pressure test ... 15 which is good & a peripheral vision test. Said it was the best he'd done all day ... then he looked at me and laughed and said but his other patients all day had been twice my age. I didn't say anything because drs. do that to me all the time. They NEVER read my chart and see that I'm almost 60 yrs. old. I almost told him I was amazed that he would have that many 120 yr. old patients! I just laughed with him and let him believe I'm a young chick! I have a headache from the vision tests and the lights. Does it every time. Need to get some sleep, kids'll be here in FIVE hrs.

Hi.

Meme - good going on the vision test. Are your eyes finally feeling better? It's hard having "energetic" children around. Hope the new meds finally help Ross to settle down. It rough on the young ones(and the old ones, even if they don't LOOK like 60)

Mima - glad you are having a good time. Hope your stomach has been co-operative when you are travelling around.

Joanne - belated happy birthday! Sounds like you got nice and spoiled. That's really nice for you. Hope you are feeling better. Is it HOT still. It has been fairly nice here (a few degrees above normal for this time of year). We have even been up into the 50's once last week. Might make it again on the weekend. Soon it will be Spring. I just hope it won't be a wet one. The humidity is soooo hard on my poor old bones.

Chris - sorry to hear that you had to give up something you really enjoyed. These DD just take so much away sometimes. I don't know what is wrong with some Drs that they won't precribe a real pain medication. That makes me mad. I hope your pain has eased some.

Sorry to be away for so long, but I got hit with a nasty virus. Started with a sore throat and progressed from there. I am FINALLY back in the land of the living I guess Tammy is away until the weekend. I hope they are having a nice time.

Well, I am heading for a cup of coffee. Hope you all have a nice evening.

Joanne, happy belated birthday.

Meme, I would have asked the doc how many 120 year old patients does he have. Just something more to laugh at. I am glad all went well.

Well the ortho surgeon was out of his office till today. His nurse did call in Darvocet for me which has helped some and hasn't left me so goofy. She called back today and said he would like to go ahead and do a cortisone shot. I am really hoping for 2 but we will see what he does. I would really like an MRI to see why I am doing this. I have in the last 2 years had 3 shots of cortisone in each knee.

I don't know if I told you all about the latest additions to the family. CRS these days big time. For Valentine's Day Larry got me a parakeet from Petsmart. He is young and I am still not sure if he is a he or she. It looks like he just might be a he. A lady on Freecycle was giving away a cockatiel and I now own him. He had no name ....so he has been named Lucky (lucky to find his way to my home....the wasn't well cared for. His cage was a mess. He has only been fed treat sticks which is bird junk food.) I am still struggling to get him to eat better food.

I have been keeping one of their cage doors open at a time. Lucky usually will come out of his cage fly around the room for a quick fly and then crawl around the outside of his cage and go back in. Charlie has never come out of his cage on his own....till today. He flew around the room a bit then landed on Lucky's cage. He crawled around the outside of it and then went in for a visit. They got along well. Charlie had some of Lucky's seed and it seems to have helped Lucky...he has actually eaten a little of it. We put Charlie back in his cage.

I really would like an aviary to house both of them and allow them more flight. Larry seems to think he can make one and mentioned it tonight and said well someone has a birthday coming up. Soo maybe I will have one soon.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Yesterday I had a mole on my arm removed. It didn't look like any of the brown spots on my arm (I have a tonof freckles). This one was white and had jagged edges. Dr thought it was best that he did a biopsy of it. So here I sit with a stitch in my arm and it hurting like the dickens. After my appointment I had to run errands. I only had to come back to the house twice for things I forgot to get. I spent most of the day out and I am exhausted today. I had to get up early this morning becasue last night I forgot to get our mail order drugs together so I can mail then in. Needed to get up before the mail man got here at 9. Now I am ready to crawl back in bed. Have a good day everyone.

Hi. Where the heck is everybody?? I don't think I have EVER seen this board this slow. Joanne, Meme???

Chris - hope you are feeling better now. Those darn moles removals do hurt when they put the stitch in there.

Mima - Hope you had fun at the BD last night. I sure hope your tummy was not and is not giving you a bunch of grief.

Hi Meme and Joanne, wherever you are. Tammy will be back this weekend as well, I think.

It is going to be a beautiful day - up into the 50's! Spring is Springing, but it always takes awhile for it to get rolling. It won't take long for the snow to be gone. Soon, we will be having spring rain and that will clean up a lot of stuff. Don't want rain yet, as it would be "freezing rain" and we sure don't need that.

Everybody have a nice day.
