Weight today was 166.4 lbs. That is down 5.4 lbs since Monday. It really helps to understand why I'm doing what I'm doing. Now that I understand why I have to take 2 Lasix a day and take it, this fluid build up in my body is starting to come off. FBG was up to 111 but that was the carbs I had yesterday. My sweet RN niece DS daughter came over and brought BBQ. Of course, they also brought the sides to go with it and DBIL wanted me to try the banana pudding they got from this BBQ place because he said it tastes just like the one DS used to make. It was good, but I've lost the taste for sugar now that I'm doing a low carb high protein woe. I'm glad he found one that tastes like the one she made. Hers won a prize at church one time and the preacher requested she make it every time they had a church dinner.

It is nice to have DN because it is like having my own personal nurse. It also helps that she worked with the cancer association as a social worker and worked with helping patients adjust to their treatments. She read my recent labs and CT Scan and was able to explain a lot of things to me. I have added her to my portal so she can go in and read them and she is the person they will call if they can't get DH.

I finally heard from my oncologist and he says if my cancer marker comes down we will not do chemo. If it goes up, he will added to what I'm taking right now. DH DS thinks if they would give the chemo to me that it would get rid of the one tumor I have. His DS is on it for the cancer he has and he said it is a powerful drug. My doctor sounded like if he gives it to me it will only be one time. So I'm just praying that whatever his decision is will work.

Carol Sue My DN is on Monjaro and when I told her that my A1c was 5.5, she said she would love for hers to be that good. She's been on it for at least a year or more that I know of. So it doesn't seem to work fast. So it will come down. I haven't asked her how much she has lost but she isn't gaining any weight on it. You probably haven't been on it long enough to see the big results you are looking for.

Hope we can continue to stay in contact. Have a blessed day.

I think now that I know the error message is from private messages I think I shouldn't have a problem. I know what to do about it.

Scale is down to 179.6 today. Yesterday blood sugar was 130 , today it was,150 , so improving. DH wants me to stop the Mounjaro because of the cost. I told him its less than he spends gambling and only once a month. I want to take it long enough to give it a chance. He said he is only going to the casino on Friday from now on. He came home, with $1200 this time.

I think if I would eat better my blood, sugar would be better. I am not eating nearly enough vegetables, like I used to.

My friend, was back yesterday, talking very nice. Who knows what's going on.

Carol Sue I'm glad you are able to check in again and hope it keeps working. We have been friends on here for so long that I feel like something is really missing when we can't stay in contact with each other. You are taking the Mounjaro for your health so I don't blame you for taking it if you can. I would love to take it for my weight, but I spend so much a month for cancer treatment that I couldn't add it. I'm glad it is starting to work for you. Do think DH will actually hit the casino only on Fridays? Only time will tell. Bless his heart he does love to gamble and obviously he wins.

Weight today was 166.4. The same as yesterday. Plus my FBG was the same as yesterday of 111. The bbq ribs tastes sweet so I'm sure that is why. I don't seem to be able to get it below 100 and I'm not sure how much the ascites may affect that, but I have been able to keep it under 110 most days. I think I may go back on Atkins if I can and do 20 g of carbs. I don't really want to do carnivore. I eat only meat for brunch and I'm starting to get bored with it. However, I don't think my oncologist would object to me doing keto. Funny how so many who never cared for Atkins have no problem with it when you call it keto. I definitely want to eat to keep the ascites/fluid off.

Have a blessed Sunday everyone.

Trish, so many said Dr Atkins was a quack. I think he just had ideas no one thought of before. It gets the weight off but I can't stick to it living with DH.
Are you still using the pink salt? I have to find my salt grinder or buy a new one. So many things online say it doesnt work so I would like to hear from someone who is using it.

No I can't use the salt with the ascites fluid retention.

Weight has stayed at 166.4 lbs for 3 days now and FBG back down to 106 today. So I'm happy with that. I'm keeping carbs under 40 g but it has been below 30 g for a few days. Feeling much better and I think my knee can allow me to get back into full swing of exercise this week. I realized this morning that my weight is just about back to where it was when I was on chemo in the beginning of this journey.

Carol Sue I hope you are doing good today.

Have a blessed day everybody.

surprised to see the scale at 178.2 today. A drop of 1.4. I hope I can keep it.

I bought Ritz crackers, being careful to get Original. They have no salt on them. they are ok for me but not DH so I will buy another box and hope they are not the same.

My friend has stayed gone. Probably for the best.

Carol Sue Congratulations on the 1.4 lb loss. Perhaps the Mounjaro is starting to help. I love Ritz crackers especially when I eat salads. One of the reasons I'm not eating salads right now to break the habit. Dr. Westman says you can have foods you like as long as they fit within your carb count, but right now I'm trying to go as low as I can and they won't fit within my carb count. I would love to do 20 g, but not me so try to set my goal at less than 40 g at least until I get this fluid off.

Dr. Westman says if you follow his plan that you will get the same benefit as carnivore. I hope so because I am not sure about eating too much protein. I've heard that our body will make glucose out of protein if we eat too much. I saw someone on FB who said she has done carnivore for a year and lost no weight and someone else told her they had the same problem. Why go through all that if you don't get the benefits. It doesn't work for everybody I guess.

Weight down another lb to 165.4 lbs. I think this is what I got down to after surgery and the tough chemo drugs. So any loss I have now will be new ground. FBG was 107.

We are going to the store today to get DH medicine and I will get some more keto friendly type foods. I am excited about the way the weight is coming down on this woe. Getting the fluid off really helps. I told DH that I can have one day off plan and this week will be chicken, but I will get 2 thighs and take the breading off. With the breading MFP shows total carbs will be 43. So still will be within 40 g when I take the breading off. Exercises back up to 45 minutes a day and will try to keep that at 5 days a week. Knee is still a little tender, but I think if I add ibuprofen that will help with that so I can continue exercising. Hopefully it will get stronger and the pain will go away. Walking will be part of my exercise today.

Hope everyone has a nice Tuesday.

Weight up .2 lbs at 165.6 today from the fried chicken dinner yesterday. FBG was 105. Total carbs were 62 g so I'm very happy eating this way. DH wants his chipped beef today but I told him I can't eat that because yesterday was my off day. I bought boneless thighs so that will be my meal today. Total carbs planned for today will be 26 g.

Carol Sue I assume you are having trouble getting on again. Hope you are doing well.

Have a blessed day everybody.

Scale was at 177.0 yesterday ans 177.8 today. Blood sugar was 135.

Trish,I forgot to tell you, the salesman at the car dealership told me he takes Mounjaro but only pays $35 per month. Im jealous. He takes it for type 2 DM. His son was overweight and took it for weight loss and lost a lot of weight. But it might depend on what strength he took. I heard if you take it for weight loss you regain if you stop taking it.

I am 99% sure my friend is back using a different account. I can tell its him by his manner of speaking. He is behaving so I let him stay.

Carol Sue I'm glad you are getting good feedback on the Mounjaro. I am surprised that the car dealer gets it for $35 dollars. I think I remember the president saying that a friend of his in England got his medicine for $35 dollars compared to having to pay over hundred here in USA. I heard he is trying to get our meds down so we can pay less. That will be nice if he can get it done.

It is good to see your weight moving down and your FBG coming down as well. I am finding this woe that I am doing is bringing my weight down as well as the FBG. It is going to be slow, but I really think at our ages it is good. Weight this morning was 165.2 lbs and FBG 101. I am actually able to wear my pants again without feeling like they cutting the life out of me. So I may not have to have the chemo if this low carb woe corrects things. Of course, the CA 125 # is the deciding factor. I pre-registered yesterday online to get my echo next Tuesday. I have my incentive to keep eating this way. Carbs today will be around 30 g.

Your friend seems to play games with you but as long as he plays nice, I guess it is fun.

Have a nice day everybody.
