Trish,Dr Nowzarden from My 600lb Life always says "Scales don't lie,people do" and he has a book with that title. Your BP has been very low,maybe too low, the bottom number. But i understand the weight and FBG. You are doing a great job! Good control. Im so proud!

We ate spaghetti for dinner. I didn't want to go out and DH wanted something fast. I put a lot of meat in it and also meatballs.

Canned tuna and salmon are good choices. Years ago there was a guy on 3FC whose name I forget. He lost a lot of weight, and everyone would go to him for advice. He ate mostly canned fish,but all kinds. It is very good for weight loss. I like it and also like canned kipper snacks, which are pickled herring. But DH won't eat any of that except tuna.

I have to clean out my freezer. I cannot fit one more thing in it and when I open it I have to get DH to help me close it. It is a bottom drawer freezer. We have to start eating things to empty it out.

I entered my food for today into MFP. My food for today was 1255 calories. My calories burned today on Fitbit was 1265 calories so far but that will go up by the end of the day. Not much difference.

Scale down 1 lb to 180. I didn't take Lasix yesterday. My total calories burned yesterday turned out to be 1501 so 250 more than I ate.

Today we go to Wal-Mart and Goodwill.

Rusty is back to his old self,running around, no limping.

Carol Sue Thanks. Glad Rusty is doing well.

Weight 153.5 lbs. Seems stuck there, but that may be good. FBG back under 100 to 99 and BP 120/60. I upped my carbs to 40 g and going keto my way.

Headed to have CT Scan and going to store after. Busy day.

There were 2 things I wanted at Goodwill but didn't buy them. DH would say I didn't need them. A soup pot and non stick frying pan. I might go back later to see if they are still there. I will get 25% off for senior day. Someone else might buy them.

Its really amazing that your weight is so low! Are your clothes loose or have you bought new. I want that so badly, but do I want it enough to do what it takes? Probably not!

I went back and bought the soup pot and a pie pan,but the frying pan was gone. I wasn't surprised because it was new with the original store label on it. You snooze you lose.

We couldn't decide what to have for dinner so DH decided he wanted Taco Bell,but I dont like Taco Bell. So I ate leftover spaghetti. I always save the leftovers but don't usually have the opportunity to eat it,but this time I did. He never eats all his tacos. He always asks me if I want one . I always tell him I dont like them but I guess he forgets. I only like home made tacos. I guess I could eat one of theirs if I put a lot of lettuce, tomato and cheese on it. Then it would be more like my home made.

Its been 3 days in a row that I haven't taken Lasix. I feel bloated but I won't take it if I'm not staying home.. Maybe tomorrow.

Carol Sue Glad you got the soup pot and the pie pan.

I would rather have homemade tacos than Taco Bell too but I guess DH decided one day that he likes theirs better than mine. Oh well. One less meal I have to cook. We do share the cooking now which is much better.

CT Scan went very well. He changed the order for me to drink only one bottle of the drink instead of 2. She kept asking me if I was okay. When we talked about the fact I didn't want to take Fosamax for my bones, he asked if I have gerd and he said he could give me an infusion once a year. So I think that must be why he ordered one bottle instead of 2.

I'm listening to a few other peole who did or have done keto and have changed some of the rules of their woe. I got interested when I saw this day on pc titled "Why I quit keto and what I wish I had done differently". Because of the video I watched between Dr. Cuwes and Dr. Berry, wondering if some people can't eat more fat than protein, made what this guy said made sense to me. He talks about how he decided he wasn't getting enough nutrients and he decided he was eating too much saturated fat and needed more protein. He and the doctors he talked to said that as we get older that we need more protein so we don't lose our muscle mass. He is a body builder so not a doctor, but he interviewed some doctors on his video sharing some of the new research and how they have changed some of the ways they eat because of the research.

I'm starting with the changes tomorrow. One of the main things that sold me on this change is that I had lost some of my energy while on Carnivore to the point that could not even make myself exercise. Just the little changes I tried today before I heard this guy's video gave me not only the energy I needed to exercise but it made me want to exercise. So I think that shows me these are the changes I need to make.

I didn't get weighed yet but I will, before I eat. I took a half Lasix this morning and want to wait til I'm done peeing. Now I wish I had got weighed before to see the difference. I doubt it would be more than 2 lbs or so. I slept good,and feel god today.

Stepdaughter was supposed to drip off a tool for DH this morning but she did not. He wanted to work on it today. I think he should drive over today to get it. She will keep forgetting.


I am reading about how,when you lose weight,your metabolism goes down. They did this study with a group of women and gave them an 800 calorie per day diet. If I only ate 800 calories per day I would be thin and would stay thin. Yesterday I had 1249. Thats probably my average intake. But with the spaghetti for dinner,carbs were high.

Yesterday I read about IF and how it helps with weight loss. I want to find that article and reread it. It was something I never heard before and now I forgot the details. I hope I can find it. I want to get back to a shorter eating window.

Trish, I'm glad your scan went well. When will you learn the results?

The scale went down 2 lbs to 178 since yesterdays 180. I don't really want this water weight loss but I'm afraid to stop taking this fluid pill because of my CHF. I don't want to end up back in the hospital. Of course, if I'm in the hospital I dont have to go to the casino!!

Carol Sue I will get test results Friday morning when I see one of the nurse practitioners. My oncologist is on vacation so will have to see what she has to say.

My weight was up a lb to 154.6 which really isn't a surprise since I raised my carbs and I've gone back to eat more moderate carbs. I heard a few doctors say not to worry about the macros, but just ear when hungry and till satisfied. Wonder where we heard that before. Actually FBG was 105 and BP 120/60. So that is good.

I watched another doctor today that says there are so many diets out there that disagree with each other. He said if the experts can't agree on how we are to eat, how are we expected to know either. He said you have to learn to take responsibility for you health your self. As one guy said you just have to tinker around with it until you find what works for you. This doctor seemed to agree. He has a book and even products to sell, that is all I need is another book.

Today my way of eating was more of an Intermittent Fasting Intuitively and that is the way I have always loved to eat. So I think this is the way that is right for me. We will see. Today I have had good normal BMs and I looked forward my exercises and enjoyed doing them. Another thing that just happened without even trying or planning is that I automatically ate within a 6 hr eating window.

DH made chipped beef for himself, because we only had 1 leg quarter in the freezer. I guess we ate the others. Breakfast was a homemade Egg McMuffin with 1 egg, 1/2 avocado, sl Velveeta cheese and 1/4 slice of a ham steak I found at Walmart that are 0 carb. They are huge slices and I had to cut one in 4 pieces so it would fit on the muffin. It was a nice change from bacon all the time. My calories today came to between 1300 and 1400.

It's been a good day. I hope yours has been too.

My day was good. We had phone problems. We couldn't figure out if it was BILs cell phone or our landline. Then we had problems calling step daughter. She had problems calling her DH, then we tried between my cell phone and DHs cell phone and that wouldn't work either. I looked online and saw that all cell phones were having problems all day. It cleared up around 5 pm.

I have believed for A long time that we have to find what works for us. We may all be made the same but when it comes to food intake the similarity ends. We are all different. No matter what you eat it has to taste good or it won't work. We can change our tastes over time. But we can't live with food that we don't like. For years, eating til satisfied meant eating til stuffed. I. finally stopped that. But I still overeat at times. But its different from before. Now its from eating when not hungry. I have to eat less at breakfast so I'm hungry for dinner when DH is. Food tastes much better if you are hungry. Today DH wanted pizza. He ate 2 slices and I ate 1, and we gave the rest to DHs husband. It wasn't a good choice for me but at least I only had one slice. He ordered it with sausage but my slice only had 1 piece of sausage. I don't really like meat on pizza.

I keep forgetting to call for my appointment for the cardiologist. I will try to remember tomorrow.

Scale up 1 lb to 179. I didn't take the other half of the fluid pill yesterday. I slept fairly well once I fell asleep but it took me a while to fall asleep.

Im not sure what's on the agenda for today. He usually likes to go to the casino on Wednesday.

Carol Sue I'm glad your phone issues finally cleared up. I hope you have a good day at the casino if you go.

Weight stayed the same at 154.6. FBG was 112 so will have to figure out what I need to cut back or stop eating. BP was the same as before.

I went online and was able to read the report oncologist wrote to my Primary doc. I read what he wrote him about the medicine for bones and now I am 100% sure that I will not take it. The first thing I read about it is that it could damage kidneys. Since it appears that I'm having to stop my chemo meds to keep from damaging my kidneys, there is no way that I am going to take a different medicine that can damage the kidneys. It appears that he told my Primay that I have to see my dentist and see what he says about me taking it. The fact that it could cause my jaw to lockup was enough to keep me from taking it but this makes the decision easy for me not to.

We recently bought allulose because of what we heard Dr. Bilkin said about how it works to help glucose work better and blocks or slows down how fructose works. Last night I was reading on the Keto for Cancer group and someone asked what the best sweetener was. One person recommended Stevia which I've used for years. The next person said Allulose fights cancer. You have to start using it very slowly to prevent stomach problems, but if it prevents cancer it is worth me switching to it. I put 1/4 tsp in my tea. I will just use that for a while.

I also read in one the books on starving cancer and it said Atorvastatin also fights cancer. I haven't been able to take it because it gives me digestive problems. Last night I got hungry so I ate small piece of cheese with 1/4 of a slice of ham and I didn't have any stomach issues when I went to bed. Something I take causes issues but with a snack they were gone. So I'm going to try taking the Atorvastatin again but eat a snack with it just to protect my digestive system.

Calories seem to fall within the same range as yesterday and total g carbs 61... 47 net g. I hope to keep the total carb grams at or below 70. I am actually counting total carbs as it seems we have progressed using total rather than net these days on all the groups I've seen out there.

We did not have a good day at the casino. DH did not win and I did not play. But its over with so I'm glad. We went earlier and came home earlier so no driving on the interstate in the dark..I hate that.

I have never counted net carbs but am aware that fiber lowers carbs. I have always counted full carbs. My fiber is never in range. I guessing just don't eat the right foods. I used to eat way more vegetables than I do now. I should probably get back to that. I read today that beans are better for fiber than vegetables but I rarely eat beans except when I make chili. Step son says he puts beans on tacos. I guess you can put what you want on them.

I took the other half of yesterdays Lasix on the way home from the casino. So I will be up peeing during the night. I will put the cramp lotion on my legs when I go to bed.

Good sleep last night. No cramps.

I forgot to weigh until after I ate but did then and was 179. I took another half pill just now. It seems the half pill works fine. I still pee my pants every day with Lasix. I had some incontinence before taking Lasix so now its escalated. I have an extra pair of jeans and underwear in the car for longer trips if needed. Things are better, because I used to have lots of potty issues too,but no more.Thank God! I also haven't had leg cramps since I started taking half at a time.

Don't know what's for dinner.

I should not have said i don't get potty issues anymore,because now I do! I think its from the potato pancakes DH made for dinner. They didn't seem to affect him,though!

My weight is stuck at 154.6 lbs. FBG was 118, but bp was good. I ate too much the past few days. I got up this morning and decided I need to stop eating breakfast. I didn't eat until almost 3 pm. This makes sense because I am eating a snack before bedtime so I can take the statin pill. I had no problems last night eating a bit with it. I will end up with an 8 hr eating window of 1 meal and 2 small snacks.

I ended up buying Dr. Livingood's 1st book and I may end up buying the one on Simply Food. Not title but close. Not sure yet. This book I'm reading right now is about learning how to change your habits within 21 days and he doesn't call it a diet or a program because he says they have end dates and we go back to our old ways of eating that made us sick in the first place. It is an easy read. I hope to finish it this weekend.

Sorry you had potty issues. I don't have them as much as I did, but it is better. As for the Lasix, I have the low dose but can take an extra as needed. I don't like to take 2 because I do not want my kidneys damaged.

Have a good night\s sleep. I will go to bed early and hope I can sleep as I don't always sleep good when I have to get up early the next day.

Trish, we seem to be maintaining right now and I have been this weight fora while now. Today is 179 and I stay between 177 and 180. I am eating to maintain that weight. I have not been eating veggies like I used too so I'm low on fiber.

DH is cooking a big breakfast for me and if I say anything he will get offended. I cannot throw it away. Once its on my plate eat it. Thats just my way. If I was cooking myself I would be adding chopped veggies,like a veggie omelet. And I used to cook chopped cabbage for my lunch and add various veggies with it,or I cooked riced cauliflower with other veggies. This is how I would do it if I was alone. Very often I eat some of what DH cooks for himself and he still says "Do you want some?" I say no thank you more often but not always. Sometimes I think its easier to eat what he has already prepared instead of cooking for myself. He does not get fat from what he eats,but he is muscular so he burns calories easily. Some day I would like to track his calories to see what he eats. He likes to eat every 2-3 hours even if its something small. He can get the bag of chips out and just eat a few and put it back.

My oncologist is on vacation and won't return to work until the 17th of June. For this reason, my CT Scan didn't get logged into portal yet because he hasn't signed off on it. Boy did I have a spiritual battle with that one. I kept wondering why I wasn't seeing that and began to wonder if something was wrong that they didn't want me to see before I saw the nurse. I finally prayed and told the Lord that I was not goint to give up on Him as I was standing on His promises, and I knew whatever happened He is in control. I was very relieved to get a good report. The tumor they've been watching they say is stable. I see it as shrinking even if it is only by .5 pt. Down is down. The tube that had given me problems from the kidney that we were trying to keep from having to replace with a stent has been resolved. It seems that there was swelling that was causing it and the swelling is gone.

The plan seems to get me to the place where I can go back on the same chemo medicine I've been on. The NP has written him asking permission for me to have my cataract surgery before I go back on the medicine. Won't know that till next week since this is Friday. I have an appointment with him July 3rd. I called this past week and have dental appointment on June 26th to get my teeth cleaned and hope to get cavity or cavities fixed during the time I'm off the medication as well.

Carol Sue the book I just read says come off of all sugar and manmade carbohydrate foods. He doesn't say you can never eat them again but to stop for 21 days to break the habit. Then he says you can have what he calls a vacation day to eat the foods you like that man made carbs. He guides you as to how to get good sleep and relax and do breathing exercises to keep the cortisol low. He says the things he teaches you to become a habit within 21 days will work no matter if you do keto, carnivore, low carb, etc.

Like you, I don't think I could do all of it since I eat with DH. DH is good about a lot of things with my eating and these docs he has found are why I consider eating how I do, but what did he want to eat today? Chinese food. I told him not to get me the sweet 'n sour sauce. Of course, the batter turns to sugar. :dizzy: My FBG was 129 this morning so I told him this morning that I cannot eat sugar of any kind not even fruit. So we had a carb overload kind of day. I know it is hard for him to see that although he doesn't have to lose weight, he does need to watch the carbs for FBG. He just reads how much sugar it has and if it is low, he thinks he can have it. He has no clue about starchy carbs that turn to sugar. So I do know how Hubbies can mess with our woe. I just call this a carby meal and will move forward with a low carb woe for the rest of the day.

I agree we are maintaining right now. I am going to have to do some research and see if I can take my night pills which are bp meds and the statin I take can be taken earlier in the day so I don't have to take them at bedtime. I don't want to eat before bed. That has always caused my FBG to be higher the next morning. I need to stop eating by 6 or 7 in the evening.
