Trish, $80 is ridiculous! I can't understand anyone paying that much! I don't even remember buying the Kindle edition. I saw people talking about it online but don't remember buying it. I trust what he says but wouldn't pay $80. I'm surprised I even paid for it at all. I usually read the free or very cheap ones.
Bad bad casino day! No more gambling for me for a while. I know DH won't give it up.

Carol Sue Sorry to hear your trip wasn't profitable. I agree that your Hubby will not give it up. LOL
Yes $80 is outrageous for a diet book. I don't think it was worth that much when I saw it before. And yes I trust what he says as well.
My eating still hasn't been as good as it should have been, but I did stay within a 7 hr eating window. I hope to do better tomorrow.

Poor sleep again last night and up at 4 am.
Wt is back to 189 but I got weighed at 4 am. I don't know what affect that would have.
I talked to my friend and she is also having trouble controlling her eating. She has gained 5 lbs and can't get back under control. Her bloodwork is still very good, though and she still wears a size 6. She has stopped tracking her carbs and she thinks that's the problem. I understand how she feels. She is proud of walking every day for 3 years now except for a few days when she was having cancer treatment. That is really a reason to be proud. I told her to go back to tracking since that's what worked before. I have advice for her but not for myself!
I hope to go back to bed and get more sleep. I have a headache.

I am up to 185.8 this morning so the wild eating has caught up with me. Back to doing what I know to do. Fasting till 3 today and I am going to do a OMAD today. I was pigging out on pepperoni slices last night that got at Aldi's to make chips of them. So I put the rest of them down the disposal. I don't have any junk food left to tempt me now. Another thing I know I have to do is 2MAD with no snacks. But for today to get back to that I have got to eat just OMAD and take this one day at a time.
Carol Sue So sorry your friend is having a difficult time controlling her eating. She has do so good for so long. I hope all of us can get this under control again.
Have a nice day.

I went back to bed until 9:45 and weight is down .6 from this morning. Its not a big deal really but proof that later is better but not by a lot.
Trish, The pepperoni slices probably are high sodium. They are tasty but not necessary especially if you aren't hungry and they cause you to overeat. I wouldn't have thrown them away, though. I hate to waste food.
My friend cannot let go of sweets and salty snacks. She has a sweet tooth, but if you work at giving them up your tastes change. Her niece gave her chocolate candy for Mothers Day. You don't give candy to a diabetic. A flower would have been better. I hope she gets back on track and your sister does too. This is why they say 95% of people gain their weight back. It has to be a dietary change FOR LIFE, not a diet. I am hopefully learning a lesson here. I might not ever reach a reasonable weight but I don't ever want to see 190 again. This DID happen to me after DH was in the hospital. During that time I went down to 179 but some of that was from stress. I kept it off for a while during his recovery but gradually gained it back after he started eating again. He lost 28 lbs and looked so much better but he has gained it back. He will never admit it.
I am no longer doing the longer fasts. As I am working toward increasing protein I want it spread out throughout the day. I'll try this for a while and if it doesn't work I'll stop. I will probably have a 6-8 hour window though, still IF. It should probably be ok as it doesn't start me overeating.

For breakfast I ate 2 eggs, 1 45 cal toast, 1 avocado. For lunch I had 1 roasted chicken thigh. I don't know what dinner will be. I'm getting more calories than usual but not necessarily high. I am more concerned with protein than calories. I will not always have the avocado. This was the last one from the bag I bought and was getting soft. I won't buy them for a while now that I'm concentrating on protein.
There were so many choices on MFP for skinless chicken thigh.anywhere from109 calories to 267 calories. I googled and found one that was 267 and the other macros matched an entry on MFP. This is why I don't like MFP. You are at the mercy of people who enter these items. A thigh is dark meat, higher fat than breast. No way its 109 calories. People get misleading information unless they research each item they enter. I don't plan on tracking every day but I just want a ball park number of what I'm getting by eating this way. I would rather be too high than decieve myself by being too low. It looks like at best I will be lower protein than what's recommended but higher than I've been eating this far.

Carol Sue I am working toward the right amount of protein and keeping carbs under 100 net carbs according to Dr. Naiman's suggestions and plan to stay within 8 hr window. I don't trust MFP lower calories either. I try to go by what is on the package of food I buy where I can and get as close to that as possible. After saying that it may not be exact all the time.
It was not easy for me to throw food down the garbage disposal since I was it make me remember hearing people say "waste makes want". But then in OA we used to say better in the trash than on my waist and that one won out as I knew I have to get control of my eating. I never used to eat pepperoni because of the sodium and boy am I paying for it today. My feet are really swollen and uncomfortable. I will have to drink more water today. I could take a Lasix but I really don't want to do that unless I absolutely have to. I don't take any meds right now and want to keep it that way.
I got a message from beautician and we are finally going into the new beauty shop tomorrow. So I decided with the new start in a new beauty shot to start my woe over as well and change to some new ideas but I am going to make them more flexible as I want to be free to eat what I want and do it healthy.
I need to go back to planning meals ahead of time and plan healthier ones. I've been lax on that because of being bored with it. I also need to drink more water. I got an article from Livestrong yesterday on dehydration. I think I drink a lot of water but evidently I don't. The article said that if you sleep good at night which I slept very sound last night and only got up once to go potty, but I woke up very groggy and didn't want to get up then you are dehydrated.
I drank the shake for breakfast but couldn't use the shake in coffee as it dried out my mouth so bad I could hardly swallow. I have one planned to drink later this evening but not sure I will ever drink it as it will raise my protein too high. But it is planned if I need it. Calories are barely over 1000 something like 1008. Enough to satisfy MFP.

I finally have a successful day under my belt. I have 1182 calories high protein, moderate carbs and low fat and it was all done within 8 hr eating window. I am very excited about my day. I honestly have always believed that having one successful day means I can have a second and a third etc etc and eventually it will be a lifestyle. At least that is what I am praying for.
I am also working on being hydrated too drinking a lot of water.

Still 189. I slept well. I have a DR appt to get blood pressure checked. It won't be good because I told him to give me 10 mg and he said lets start with 5. So I will be going back in another month. I might ask him for an antibody test to see if I had Covid that time I was sick. Something is causing me to get so tired after dinner. Its not high carbs. I was exhausted yesterday. Otherwise I will have to keep eating a smaller and smaller dinner. Maybe walking after dinner would help.
Good for you for getting back on track, Trish. You really weren't far off. Just needed a little tweak.
We got a call confirming our washer delivery for Sunday. They will call again Saturday to give us a time.
Today we are going to the WVa casino. They are giving away camping gear and we want to get a tent for DGS. He is in boy scouts and he likes to sleep out in the yard in the summer. His Dad sleeps out with him, like they're camping.
I've been checking online for our 2019 tax refund we never got. It finally showed up and due to be mailed today. Now we will be caught up on all our money from the IRS. Yay!

HI there friends.
161 today after OMAD yesterday. I just have not felt like long fasting, but think I need it, not really making changes.
I still get fatigued easily, even after good nights. I might start off with energy, but get fatigued as the day goes on.
Yesterday, I woke up after dreaming about being tired. LOL. I so seldom remember my dreams, this seemed especially funny.
No other news.
Carol: we can get antibody tests here. But I thought you also had a vaccine, so that may not tell you much.
Trish: get that wild eating back under control, and get back down!
Best of luck with staying on plan

No, Mad, I have not had the vaccine. I'm afraid to get it and afraid not to. I guess one of these days I will just do it, but I'd like to know if I had Covid. I should have been tested back then but I really didn't think it was Covid. I recently read that people who had Covid have worse side effects from the vaccine, and if you've had Covid you should only get 1 shot.
DH cooked breakfast but I didn't eat the bacon. Not good for BP. My BP is good right now but goes higher when I'm in the doctors office.

Good Dr visit. Next appt in 6 months. I stopped on the way home and bought a piece of gooey chocolate cake to celebrate.
Dr says the antibody test is not covered by insurance . I don't need to know that bad.

Carol Sue I’m glad your doctor’s appointment went well. That is always good news. Looks like you are also keeping your weight stable as well. Hope you have a good day at the casino.
Your DGS sounds like my DH#1. There were times when we went to stay at his parents and he wanted to sleep outside under the stars. We had camping cots that we would put in the front yard and sleep.
Fatmad Yes, I do have to get things going right again with my plan. Hope you start feeling better. I know I felt tired a lot after the vaccine but it di.dn’t last. I just read something about not drinking enough water causing tiredness. Are you drinking enough. I find it difficult to drink enough until the weather warms up.
The new beauty shop is very nice and a lot bigger than the old one. It was good to see the owner and the ladies we usually see every Friday morning. She has 3 rooms for one lady who does facial treatments naturally for face lifts without surgery and a room she hopes to get someone to do massages and I forgot what the other room was for. She is hoping to get 2 new beauticians to also work from there. So while it is very roomy right now, it won’t be long until it will be a busy place. It is a great location and much nicer than the place they were before. They started moving in yesterday and my beautician said all of her old customers are calling wanting appointments ASAP. I am happy for them and for us.
Weight was still 185.8 today but I weighed earlier so hopefully it would have been less if I could have weighed later, since it is always higher on Fridays because I weigh 2 hrs earlier.
I am not going to use a plan per se. I am eating healthy using the old WW SF plan. I didn’t eat anything before I left and have only had 2 small mandarin oranges and coffee with the collagen in it. We are having salad and pizza today. I found 2% shredded mozzerella cheese so it will be low fat pizza not necessarily low carb although I do hope to be able to keep it under 100 g carbs. I am also following the old mindful eating... eat only when hungry and still stay within 8 hrs or less eating window.
Hope everybody has a great day.

I looked online again and saw that it says the antibody test IS covered. And on the Quest site it says they either bill your insurance or the government. So I'm going to call the doctor and order the test and might call my insurance on Monday. I want to know.
I'm glad you like the new beauty shop and you can get back to your routine. My shop moved but just to another shop in the same strip mall.
DH made me so happy today by telling me he wanted KFC. It was so good! I was really in the mood for it. I told him to let me know any time he wants it because I always want it. I have been maintaining my weight but its because I've had some potty issues lately. That gets me dehydrated. That's probably why my blood pressure is down, too. But I want to use these 6 months to make a difference and have my weight and A1c improved by then. I'm thinking if the Covid rates continue to go down I will be able to have Thanksgiving dinner here in November and I would be happy to have a new me to show off. This gives me incentive to work toward this.
Did you get to have your tacos yet? If DH would like to have tacos soon they have something new I want to try. I forgot what its called.

Carol Sue Yes, I did get my tacos and only got 2 and enjoyed them. I'm glad you got your KFC. That will be what we will get next time DH and I go out.
Our old beauty shop was in a group of building across the street on the other end of the Target mall. We are now in the mall area on the other end side of Target in their mall. In fact that mall was the fancy mall where we had our high school prom in 1961 when I graduated, but they tore down most of it and it is nothing like it used to be. The old movie theater which is behind our beauty shop is now a genealogy library. It is nothing like the beautiful mall it was back then.
Ended up with a longer eating window today. Friday's are so difficult for me to get straight.

I was so exhausted yesterday I don't remember when I ended my eating window. I think it was 5:30 pm. I dont think I ate anything after the KFC. I am looking forward to DH getting up to cook breakfast. Not til 9 or later.
Wt is still 189. Tenths have been jumping around, .2, .6, .8. I never counted tenths before I had this scale. I used the balance beam scale and it had the little tick marks. I only did whole or half pounds. I still think tenths are rediculous because its only water weight or hormones effect them. For years I used a scale with the dial and pointer. You could get on 5 times and get a different number. I was so happy when I got the balance beam scale. It has always been so important to me to know what I weigh. I could never not have a scale since I was 21 and did my first diet. Some people never owned a scale and have no idea how much they weigh and don't care. I see strangers and I wish I had my scale with me and could weigh them. Ha ha ha ha!!
I just got on my balance beam scale and it weighs me the same. Last time I was on it I was 192.

Carol: I agree, having the antibody test would be worthwhile for you, given symptoms. You may have a stronger reaction to the the vaccine. I did not have as strong a reaction to my 2nd jab as I would have expected, some get it, some don't. A strong reaction is not dangerous, just means your immune system is working well, but its best to have the time set aside. Then with that knowledge, you are your caregiver can decide, based on the science whether you should have 1 or two doses.
I am 160 today. I did not fast yesterday, with things opening up, we decided to have a little "Happy Hour" in the front yard with a couple of neighbours. Still socially distanced, but social. So I had to eat in order to have a cocktail. It was nice. Our weather is also great. This is our first long weekend of the summer, with Monday a holiday. Its an old holiday, known as Victoria day, (yes, queen victoria, that's what I mean about an old holiday). Typically there were fireworks displays to celebrate. These days there is very little about any queen being celebrated, but more just the kick off to summer activities. People open their cottages and go camping etc. Most of the country is still under lockdown, so we should not see a lot of close gatherings but we shall see. In my provide we are planning openings in early June, to ensure there is not a big effect from this weekend first. I won't get political and go into the faults of various levels of governments in not managing things well.
So once again, planning to fast today, and eat tomorrow night when DD gets here. She has been at the cottage, and has her vaccine on Monday. Then DH and I will go up the cottage on Tuesday.
I may put a link on my phone, but may not check in often, because I have limited and expensive data when there, no internet, just on my phone.
Have a good day friends.
