Trish we didn't have direct deposit so we got a paper check, but ours was together in one check with both our names. Now we are set up for direct deposit so I have to keep checking to see if our tax refund has been received.

Well, I am through eating today and I have 8 pts left over but I can't eat any more and I refuse to make myself eat more just to use pts. They will roll over 4 of them and I will lose the other 4 which is fine to me. My last meal was a sweet potato, asparagus and a protein shake. I will say one thing about eating so much veggies, fruits and eating most of the veggies in a soup really does fill you up. Especially the soup made me feel stuffed.
|
Trish, I think the reason they tell you to use all your points is because if you don't eat enough your body tries to hold onto the fat. If you're hungry then you didn't eat enough but you are satisfied and not hungry. A normal eater doesn't count points or calories. They eat until they are no longer hungry then they stop. Unless a person has a medical problem they eat until they are no longer hungry. They can't tell you the exact number of points to eat because people are all different. It's a guideline. On Simply Filling you don't count any points.
I ate a lot of veggies too. DH wanted Pasta Roni so I cooked carrots, Brussels sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower and made it like Pasta Primavera. He told me to cook 2 boxes but I knew we would only eat one. It never looks like I cook enough to him but there's always some left. The one box was just enough with all the vegetables. Last night he had another piece of pie and asked me if I wanted some, to which I replied No. That pie sat on the counter for a while. At bedtime I saw it was sitting on top of my pill box. I asked him if he was going to eat it and he said he can't finish it, he was going to throw it out. So I threw it out . I feel that he is trying to entice me. He says he's just trying to be nice, but I told him I'm an adult and I know when I want to eat something and where to get it. He knows that the old me used to finish what he didn't eat. I'm down the .2 I was up yesterday but still at 192. I think I want to eat a smaller breakfast. DH keeps cooking more and more scrambled eggs. I used to eat 1 egg for breakfast but now I think he's cooking many more and what I'm getting looks more like 3. He is trying to fatten up the calf!! My step son gave me some peppers from his garden so I will stuff them today. Yum! The only thing we have to do with the computer is the printer. It won't show up on the computer. Last night I realized that when it saved my files it saved every email I had sent or received since 2015. There were thousands in old mail, sent mail, spam, recently deleted mail and it would only let me delete 1000 at a time. It took a long time. That is my main email account. I have a few others that I just use occasionally so I will have to check them, too. I am surprised at how much information I did not lose. I plan on getting in a good exercise session today as long as DH doesnt have anything planned for me. By the way, if anyone watched the news and saw the destructive storms in PA, they were not in my area. I watched it, it was terrible. Those poor people. |
Running late today. Weight today was 194. I know it will bounce back up tomorrow and last week WI was 196.2 so anything in 195 would be good. FBG was 115. As usual it was up because of the lower weight.
Carol Sue I know WW always says to eat your pts because it has something to do with when you get to maintenance but I am not going to force myself to eat when I'm not hungry. Tonight I will have 6 pts leftover and I have 37 weekly pts so far and they started me with 28 on WI day. Of course tomorrow is WI day and I will lose the extra pts and go back to 28. I have a homemade Egg McMuffin planned for dinner to use up 7 pts. however, I think the weight loss would be better if I could do like yesterday and have veggies and I might try changing it. I'm going to have to work on exercise today so I can reach my 35 pts goal for this week. I always feel so sorry for people who live on the coast and get those storms. It missed the kids in FL and DGS in SC. In fact, DGS called yesterday on his way to meet his parents and siblings in FL for vacation. Have a good day. |
Trish, I got another email today that showed 3 things you should never eat.
1. Things you don't like 2. Things that trigger you to overeat 3. Things that make you not feel good |
Carol Sue That makes sense. Did you sign up for those to go to you? I would love my WW program into an Intuitive lifestyle rather than a lifestyle of dieting.
I went back on WW and changed Dinner plan to a soup and I will have a lot of pts left over but that will be okay. I cooked chicken tenders in cream of chicken soup which I had made with water not milk. So I did so good with the soup yesterday for dinner so I took the left over soup from lunch and added a lot of 0 pts veggies and cut up a few little potatoes into it and made a veggie soup with cream of chicken soup flavor and I will drink a protein shake along with it. We got our car back. I had gotten an add from this auto service back in 2018 and decided to keep it just in case we ever needed it. It came with a coupon on it starting at $25 up to $100 depending on the amount of the bill. Since this is 2020, I wasn't sure they would acknowledge it, but DH asked and they gave us $100 off. Plus their work comes with a 3 yr Warranty. The 3 year Warranty was the main reason that I trusted them. Turns out the warranty is on the receipt. So I'm very thankful for that. |
Trish, I often go on websites for weight loss etc and they ask for my email. Most of the time they are selling a book or supplements like the emails we get from Dr Fung and Megan Ramos but there are interesting articles. From them I might click on something else that will lead to another article. No wonder I'm online so long! LOL
That's good that the work on your car is warranteed. If you take good care of your car it will last longer. You are doing good eating that soup with veggies and your weigh ins are showing it. You go girl!! You are doing WW as if it is intuitive. You are not using every point just because it's there. You aren't starving yourself. You are showing me how it's done, just zipping along with these losses! :carrot: |
Down .2 again this morning. I usually get a few of these then bump back up, so I don't get too excited anymore. I ate a piece of tomato last night with salt but I don't think it did any damage. These garden tomatoes are so good. I should get some bacon so we can have BLT. I have a list for Wal-Mart when DH gets up then I guess we will go to the casino. He mentioned that he wants to go on the weekend instead of Thursday. I do not because there will be more people there. We'll see.

Carol Sue I agree that the fruits and veggies in soup are really helping me to lose. I want to keep it up. I had a book years ago called Fit For Life. It didn't make it very well and I think that was because it was hard to fit into peoples lifestyle. I used it when I was first diagnosed. The doctor I went to was Oriental and he had a really thin Oriental wife and they shopped at the same health food store I shopped at. I showed him the book and asked him if it was a good diet. He looked it over and said that it was how he wife eats. So he approved it. As time went by it didn't fit my lifestyle any more either so I had to give it up saying if I ever was able to eat that way again that I would. It was not much different than the way I am eating right now.
I eat my fruit in the morning and have a good healthy balanced meal at lunch and then mostly veggies in the evening sometimes with protein. That plan was eat fast from 8 at night to 4 am when you would eat fruit only till noon and then have an 8 hr eating window. The difference I do is that I fast until sometime between 10:30 and 11 am to have my fruit and eat it breakfast then I don't eat again until 3ish and then have the veggies around 6:30 or 7 and then fast 16 hrs. WI day and my weight was 194. WW shows I have lost 13.4 lbs since I started in May. I weighed 202.4 when I started. FBG was 100 today. So I will continue my way of eating. Tomorrow is doctor's appt. so I will have a long fast tomorrow because I won't eat until we come back home and knowing DH it will be KFC. Thanks to WW dieting, it doesn't hurt me to eat it. Have a great day everybody. |
You are doing very well, Trish. I'm proud of you! You have changed your way of eating thanks to WW. I remember when you did it last time. It just didnt click. This time it did.
We did poorly at the casino again. He said he won't go back there, and he said he won't go back to the one in W Va until they get food. I don't understand why their food court isn't open at least. The buffet may never come back. But he says this all the time and by the time next week comes he's raring to go again. I don't know why he can't go every other week or once a month. I could deal with once a month. We didn't eat all day, just breakfast. He wanted to eat at the casino but wouldn't because I said I wasn't eating anything. So now he's making French fries at home. I'm really tired and will probably go to bed early. I'm already in my jammies. |
I ate some cauliflower last night because I finally got hungry enough. I'm starting to like it with parmesan cheese. So that wasn't much to eat and I'm down .6 today. That's .8 of a pound for the week and I'm happy with that. I stayed the same 3 days in a row. Down is down, and not up.

Carol Sue I think eating veggies in the evening if we get hungry is a good way to curb the appetite. Last night I wasn't all that hungry so I had a grilled cheese sandwich etc which wasn't smart since we had chipped beef. Therefore, my weight bounced up 2 lbs and FBG was 109. However, I also have to take into consideration that I get up about 2 hrs earlier on Fridays which might just be the fact that I didn't have my usual BM and I did everything else weight/FBG checking 2 months earlier.
I had a 1/2 c coffee this morning and a peach. Hopefully that will be gone by the time I see the doc at 1:30. I decided that is no big deal since I will show a weight loss any way since I've lost more than 10 lbs since I saw him in Jan or Feb. Headed out as soon as DH gets up. BBL |
Trish, I think you will show a good loss at the doctor's.
We went through the old story of what to have for dinner. I don't feel that we both have to have the same thing. But he wanted pizza but won't get it unless I eat some too. He thinks it's a waste since even a small is too much for just him. I want vegetables again. I like vegetables and they are helping me lose. I guess I will eat the toppings and not the crust. That is acceptable to me but I might have to hide the crust from him to get it into the garbage. Most of the time my eating is out of control. Now I have it under control and I have to deal with this. |
Carol Sue I am sorry you DH makes it harder for you to have more control, but I think you are doing a great job at doing it. You have to do what you have to do. I pray that he will begin to get the picture. Wonder why he couldn't eat a Personal Pan pizza unless he likes only thin crush like DH and I do. That is why I make my own personal pan size so that we can get the thinner crust sold in our local store without having to buy a thicker crust. That way I can add veggies to mine and less sauce and cheese than DH does. You should give yourself a lot of credit and feel good about the improvements you have been making especially since you are having to fight his ideas to do it. I'm not sure I could do that. I would never wish your DH to have to go through the things my DH has, but I have no real problems with DH understanding my eating style since he has had to change things himself to keep his blood sugar under control.
Our doctor's appt went great. DH A1c was 6.3 and mine was 5.1. I am so thrilled with both but especially DH. I finally told my doctor how my feet feel. He checked my legs for swelling and it hurt and I asked him why my legs hurt even when DH touches them and he said there is a little bit of neuropathy which goes with diabetes. Then I told him that I had never talked to him about my feet because I had told doctors about it for years and no one ever seemed to pay attention to me so I finally decided "why bother". So I told him how they feel sometimes and he said it is neuropathy. He said there was meds he could give me but if it wasn't bothering me it would be better not to because they have bad side effects. Of course, he knows I am really picky about pills because of their side effects. My sodium is too low. In fact I have to go back in 2 weeks for blood work. I think I'm going to have to come off of the chlorthylidone (misspelled) because he said it is drawing the salt out of my body. He said I can use it 1 or 2 days a week and then see what happens. However, he said that my sodium is close to being low enough to cause me to start having seizures. So I'm really afraid to continue using it. On the way home DH told me that Lasix takes the potassium out instead of the sodium. I've pretty much decided to stop taking the chlorthylidone and if I see that I really need something, I will write my doctor and ask him about switching to Lasix. It is easy to get potassium in my food and pills which you can't do with sodium. I told Doc that I feel like I eat too much salt and my legs swell. Even though he says I can take it 1 or 2 times a week, I am really afraid to take the chance. Doc wants us to get tetanus shots because neither of us can remember when we last had one. I think the last time I had one was when I took some college classed when when my kids were teenagers because I had to have shots because I hadn't had them since my teens. My kids are in their 50s now so that tells you how long that has been. He is so good about helping us with meds so he told us to check with the pharmacy. He said we can get them cheaper. Plus he is going to give us samples of the Farxiga and Eloquis now that we are in the gap. Nurse gave us a coupon that we can check to see if we can get help with the Eloquis. She isn't sure if it will because most of them won't help Medicare or Medicare Part D patients but this looks like it might. We checked on it at Walmart pharmacy about the tetanus shot and we can get it there and if the girl read it right it is free with our part D. However she said if we do it now there is a lot of paperwork to go through to get it so we decided to wait and see about getting it later. I asked him about drinking cold drinks. I told him I had quit drinking them because Bariatrics didn't want us drinking them but I didn't have the surgery and wasn't going to plus there are a lot of other reasons they say don't drink them. I told him I really missed them and only drank 1 a day when I drank them and he said he had checked all the research on them and there is nothing that proves that it effects weight loss. There are rare cases where the body can respond the same on some sweeteners the same as sugar. I told him I saw DH urologist take 3 cold drinks back to his office when he came out of DH surgery and I always wondered if they were so bad for you kidneys etc if he was drinking them. He said they had learned that it doesn't really make a difference whether they are with sugar or sweeteners. In fact that they think when drinking diet people think they can drink more but they seem to drink less when it has sugar. He said there is no reason for me not to drink one diet drink each day if I want it. I also asked him his thought on eating all the points on WW. I told him that I believe eating just to eat all my daily points means I'm overeating so I only eat as much as I need and I eat a lot of the 0 pts veggies and limit my 0 pts fruit because of the sugar. He said he was fine with the way I'm doing it because it is working. I came home and made a salad to go with my KFC and ate mostly the meat and not much of the breading. I have no problem not eating the breading on KFC chicken because I don't like it. Today I am having a 4 pt rollover again. I just cannot eat those last 4 pts. Overall our appts went very well. |
Trish, when I dieted years ago I drank a lot of Diet Coke all day. I know it helped me with my weight because the bubbly made me feel full so I didn't eat plus it made me pee a lot so I lost fluid. But they make it different now and it doesn't work as well for me so I stopped it. I keep it in the house and drink maybe 1 a week. One time we were going out to eat and I took one with me to drink on the way. DH said " if I drank that I would not be able to eat my meal" and I told him that's why I do it, so I will eat less.
I have lasix. My doctor told me to just take it if my ankles swell but I don't like the way it makes me feel so I don't take it. When I had to take it every day he gave me prescription potassium to take with it. I have 1 blood pressure pill that has a slight diuretic and that is the reason I have gout. But it works better than any other BP pill. If I would lose this weight I won't need half of these pills. I'm working on that! I buy electrolyte water and keep it by my bed to drink it if I get leg/foot cramps during the night so I should not have any low electrolytes. My weight is down 1 whole pound today but that's because I had potty issues yesterday and am dehydrated. I will try very hard to keep it but you know how that works. I overate yesterday and expected a gain. DH likes this particular pizza. It is not from a pizza shop but from a privately owned Italian restaurant. It is what it is. It is 6 cut but you know he doesn't eat much and eats 2 slices. They are big slices. They put big hunks of sausage on it. I ate the cheese and sausage off 2 slices plus I made some vegetables for me. We have 2 slices left. He might heat it up for lunch. I can eat any pizza. He is picky. Your A1c is wonderful and so is DHs. You are non diabetic. I only had 1 A1c under 6. Years ago. My last one was 6.2 but I know it will be higher because I ate so terrible thru the pandemic. I am going to convince DH that I want to continue losing. He keeps asking me what I want to eat for dinner and he does not like my answers. I tell him he can eat whatever he wants and I honestly don't want anything. If you don't want to hear my answer then don't ask the question. If necessary, I will eat a small portion of whatever he wants. I want to be the one in control of my eating. I am going to lose this weight if it kills me. |
