The festival was wonderful. I was able to stay in my 8oz wine limit by only having small tastings from a few wineries that interested me. I did try 1 sip of artisanal gin and 1 of a cream liqueur. Both were excellent. The food was amazing! And again, I thought I made good choices. Each was literally bite sized . There were dozens of choices and I only tried 15 of what I was really interested in. Only had 1 pasta sample and 2 dessert samples. Otherwise grilled or lean protein and veggies. The scale Sunday was in the 172’s but since Monday is weigh in day, I documented what it read this morning. Hopefully it will quickly come back down.

Wishing all all who sacrificed and served a very Happy Veterans Day today.

Rie ~ Aw, well I guess once it became less of an outlet for success, you made the right choice! I remember considering the beginnings of a blog because of your inspiration. Great success with dumping half the soda and only the 1.5 sandwich! Do you make your own kimchi stew? That sounds so delicious! We have a decent Korean restaurant near us (at least, for soon dubu), but I really am not the biggest fan of their stew.

etherbunny ~ So glad you were able to enjoy the festival while still being relatively on track!

Phew, as per usual, the all-in weekends are hindering the continued loss. I guess it's alright though, since it kind of shines light on what maintenance may look like for me in the future. Anyway, social media had informed me that Restaurant Week is coming this week and next week. Long story short, hubby and I refrain from going out on ~*some*~ date nights throughout the year in order to kind of...indulge in these two weeks. As a result of this, he and I will be doing two dates, the family will be doing one dinner, and one of my best friends and I will be doing a lunch. Yeah, all meals are completely off-plan! I'm going to force my butt to put in more exercise this week. I mean, like hubby mentioned, he wouldn't want me to gas out during our honeymoon since Japan involves tons of walking. Haha!

Happy Tuesday y'all! As etherbunny mentioned above, thank you to all the veterans who have served this country.

Total Loss for Week Two:

I promise I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, or fallen off the wagon, or fallen off my porch. No falling involved. I've just been really busy and haven't really taken much time for myself this month so far. I've really just been in more of a maintenance mode than a losing mode. Mom (who is also my boss and my personal hero) had knee replacement surgery this morning and is doing great, but we've been pulling double duty to get things as ready as possible for her to be out of the office for 2-4 weeks. My sister took this whole week off work to take care of her, and I'll be holding down the fort at work. So not a lot of time to focus on anything much. And since my goal at the beginning of 2019 was to be at 170 by the end of November, and that's where I'm hanging out, I can't be sad about where I'm at. Besides, after the amazing October I had, I expected a bit of rebound could happen. I'm content at the moment to just practice living life as a 170 pound me. I've been up a bit more and down a bit more, but mostly just hanging out in the 169-171 range for a couple weeks now. This may be my first month with a gain, and I've decided I'm ok with that as long as I stay on track. I'd prefer to at least stay the same as I started the month, but if I have a slight gain, I'm not going to beat myself up over it.

Had a good week 2, but after a chaotic weekend that left me no time for myself and the sudden drop of temperature, I'm feeling all sorts of crappy now. I bought a new (used) car, a 2017 Honda Accord which I'm super happy with. Also celebrated my friends birthday and did well the night of not to overeat! Had a soda last night which probably explains my gain this morning, as well as feeling coldy.

I'm gonna try and hang in there I hope you guys are doing well!!

I think I'll continue to be in maintenance mode and hover around 146/147. It's been that way this week! Yesterday was the first night of restaurant week, which means ANY reservation I make would mean I'm off-plan. Of course, I did ensure I was good all day prior to this meal, so my weight actually dropped a little, despite feeling a little more bloated. Our restaurant week menu included a complimentary champagne glass, so alcohol /and/ carbs could be why.

Thank goodness for the weekend!

I went the wrong direction. But I'm pretty happy that I've mostly maintained the big drop I had at the end of October. I'll make a few small changes to see if I can get the scale to drop again before the end of the month.

November goal: -1 kg (reach 94.1 kgs)

3: 95.1 kgs
18: 95.7

I’m hoping my plateau is over and that I’ll continue a downward trend. I was getting tired of seeing some version of 174x on the scale! My weekend numbers were all in this lower range so I think this loss is real. I’ve said previously that I weigh weekly but I find myself weighing daily and the number sets the tone for my day. Time to break the daily scale habit and just trust that the plan will continue to work.

It’s been quiet here lately. November is always a dreary month!
Gardenerjoy, you’ve got 2 more weeks in the month! I’m sure you can turn things around!
Atarimae, I always loved restaurant week. Luckily they don’t do that where I am currently but I used to scour the restaurants participating and chose the ones I otherwise couldn’t afford. Such a treat!
Lacerta, glad to see you’re heading back down too!
Riestrella, congratulations on the car! Hondas are known for their dependability. Hope you’re feeling better.

I’ll try to be better about checking in. I’m sure we all can use a bit of extra support!

Almost a pound gained last week but considering I didn't really exercise much I'm not surprised! I changed my schedule at work (again, lol) so last week was the first week of that new change. I always get knocked off my axis with changes in my routine and it takes me a little while to regain balance. This week is my first "normal" week since the change and I'm already feeling a little better about things. I finally took my first step toward seeking professional help for my anxiety issues, I went to see a therapist last week. Since it was just an intake session, I just talked about my problems for an hour, so next weeks session will be starting treatment. It's been a weird time since the first appointment, since opening up about all my issues out loud made me hyper aware of them in my day to day life since then. I'm hoping that with therapy I can train my brain to live in the moment a bit more and not worry about stuff in the future!

Yesterday I went to a dance class, the fun one that I haven't gotten around to going to since the first time I went. Tonight I'm going to try another one, then since my membership expires on Wednesday I can make the decision on whether to buy a monthly membership or just buy a punch card and go from there. We'll see!

etherbunny - Congrats on your loss! That's so great. I know weighing in daily can cause stress but I do find it helps set the tone for the day too.

gardenerjoy - Maintaining is a huge achievement!

Atari - What's restaurant week? Is it like discounted prices at restaurants? Sounds like fun! Aw, well you if you think you want to start a blog you should go for it! I thoroughly enjoyed my blog when I was running it, but I also wasn't as busy with my career at the time Also, yes, my bf makes an amazing kimchi stew from his homemade kimchi! It's so good.

Lacerta - I hope your mum is doing well, sounds like you've got a lot on your plate so it's no surprise weight loss isn't a priority. Like you said, you've done amazing work, but life happens and sometimes we gain a little. No need to guilt yourself about it, just take a deep breath and carry on when life calms down a bit!

So much for not daily weighing.....but the good news is I'm at my lowest weight in decades. 169.5 this morning. Now I'm really, really staying off the scale until Monday so I can enjoy this without seeing the fluctuation back to 170x.

Forgot to weigh in today, oops! But from my two weights this week I'm a smidge down from last week. The class on Monday was just ok, I felt like the instructor was making it up as he went along. A couple of the instructors there just seem to roll in, start the class, have minimal energy and honestly...are a little out of shape themselves. The routine was ok, but not really my style. I saw a class through the glass that looked super fun, they were dancing to Beyonce but it was a heels class and I would no doubt break an ankle!! If I'm gonna be paying money for a class I want high energy, structured classes and Monday's just wasn't that. All in all though, there are 2 classes that I can see myself returning to on a weekly basis (Barre and a dance fitness class), so I'm going to go ahead and sign up for a monthly membership since it's cheaper than a punch card.

Had a bit of a bad day yesterday with food, had a HUGE sandwich for lunch, a soda in the evening and a blondie at like 10pm. Not good. So maybe today's lack of weigh in will work in my favor This Saturday we're hosting a funeral for my old car, which I'm super excited about because it'll be ridiculous. I'm gonna make a roast chicken dinner (chicken, veggies and gonna attempt Yorkshire puddings) and Gluhwein and some friends are coming over to mourn with us . Next week I'll be doing two Thanksgivings, one at a family friend's place on the Thursday and then a Friendsgiving on the Friday. I'm a little nervous about the Friendsgiving, since last year I helped my friend cook and it was just ridiculous. She planned WAY more than what we needed to make, it was generally pretty stressful since some things went wrong and she doesn't do well with stress, and I swear we were in the kitchen for 8 hours. Yet the food was just ok. This year I'm hoping, along with our other friends who went, to convince her that a) we really don't need to cook like 10 different things and b) let each individual couple prepare something and bring it pot luck style. She's a bit controlling so I'm sure she won't like it, but hopefully when the majority says that last year was too much she might realize the error in her ways. I just hope it doesn't become a big drama, that she doesn't sulk and cancel the plans, which h3ll she might do because she can be stubborn!

What are everyone else's plans for the weekend/Thanksgiving?

I just wanted to share a nsv. My uniforms are provided at work. Last February I reluctantly moved up to a 2XL for the first time ever. I was embarrassed and disgusted with myself. The neck band and waist ties are color coded so the laundry can sort the different sized easily. Of course, that means everyone can easily see the size you’re wearing. Maybe no one looks, but I knew. That’s when I decided enough was enough and started my weight loss journey on March 1. This past week, I wore mediums for the first time ever. I’m not at my goal weight yet. And I have lots of loose skin and rolls. But I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished so far.
