Thanks for the November thread gardenerjoy

I dunno, should I join in? Wait, that's wrong - OF COURSE I should join in. November is the month where all my favorite foods come out to play, so I can use all the support I can get.

I am, however, going to set a VERY moderate goal. Basically, I just want to end the month lower than I started it, but I'm going to say 166, which will put me past the 100 pound mark which was my 2019 goal, and to a BMI of 26. That's only about 2 pounds down from today, but honestly, anything lower than I started the month will be a win for me. I haven't had a month with a gain yet, and I'd like to keep that streak going as long as possible. However, I love Thanksgiving dinner, so I want to be 166 by the day before Thanksgiving, to give me a bit of room for Bloat, since there are only a couple days after Thanksgiving before the end of the month.

*Edited to add that if I'm wrong about October being a whoosh with a stall coming for November, and I have another great month, it would be totally amazing to get all the way to 162.4 for the 105 lost milestone, but I really don't see that happening. October has been so amazing, I really expect a stall coming.

Count me in. Looking for 7lbs in November. I’ll fill in sw and monthly gw on the first. If I don’t make ambitious goals, I tend to slack off. Onward and downward!

Thanks for the new thread, gardenerjoy!

November is the month before our honeymoon, so time to get serious! I would ideally like to stick to similar goals BUT incorporate some exercise to help speed things along. Also, since we're traveling to Japan, it'd probably be beneficial to condition my body to the TONS of walking.

CW: 147.4
GW: 139.8 (I have not seen the 130s since high school/first year of college; this would be AMAZING.)

Other goals:
50k steps a week OR 30 min of designated exercise 3x a week. YES, that's how little movement I get, apart from being on my feet at work w/ the kiddos. /shame
Meal prep EVERY weekend so limited/no cooking during the week.
All-in days are limited to NO MORE than 2 days a week.
Sticking with a positive mindset by checking in at least 3x a week.

Happy to be here for November! I'm hoping with my dance classes I can sweat some pounds off. Obviously November is tough with it getting cold and Thanksgiving around the corner, but I'm trying to stay positive. My goal for the month is to lose 4 lbs (again! ) and be halfway toward my Christmas goal of 8 lbs down. I really wanna see those tickers move this month!

Happy Halloween everyone! Did anyone dress up? I was very disappointed with myself this year, but I think subconsciously I didn't want to draw attention to myself when I feel so down on myself about my weight. NEXT YEAR! I'm determined. We don't get any trick or treaters here so I didn't buy any candy. I went to a stretch class tonight, it was very nice...but also something I probably won't return to. If I can only go to 3 classes a week when I sign up, then I want to make sure they make me sweat/push me to my limits and I felt like the stretching class wouldn't do that. I'm glad I went though!
There's a little stress in my life at the moment since my car is showing signs of failure. This isn't the first time, but because it's 21 years old it always feels like it might be the last! It would really suck to live off of one car honestly, I know it could be so much worse however so trying to keep positive. I think the timing is stupid since I finally found something that's good for my health but it requires me to have a car...

I wasn't very good with food today, but trying to focus on exercise for now! I had three sugary snacks (rice pudding, small bag of skittles and a milky way), a slice of bread with PB before class, and a pretty large lunch as well as dinner. Usually if I get a large lunch I like to snack for dinner, but I had 2 pretty big meals today. Oh well. Tomorrow is a new day! My period is hitting me full force today, so keep your fingers crossed for that whoosh!

Atarimae - Oooh you're going to Japan! My favourite place! I used to live there Where are you stopping off at?

Lacerta - Dude, don't even joke about ducking out, you make these threads We need to see your epic progress to keep motivated!

Thanks for setting up as always, gardenerjoy!

Count me in. I'm back.
I had a very bad month October. Lots of junk food, lots of late night bings and lots of stress.
Hope November is a fresh start.

I'll do personals tomorrow, have to get to work this morning. Wrong direction to start the month, which is actually not a surprise, as I ended up having mexican food for lunch, and the healthiest option that restaurant has is a chicken taco salad, which sounds great, but they marinade the chicken really heavily, and have a sauce on top, and have a lot of cheese, plus it is huge and I just ate too much of it. And it didn't really even leave me that full, so I still had dinner on top of it, which I don't always do. So I just ate more than usual yesterday.

I've been feeling really lightheaded all week this week. I had a flu shot last Thursday, so I sort of attributed it to that the first couple days, but since it's still going on, I'm wondering if my blood pressure has dropped. Before I lost the weight, I started out at 165/105 and was put on 3 meds to get it down to a reasonable level (still was about 135/90 even on 3 meds). At my last checkup, I was down to 120/80 (normal) on just 1/2 of one med. Since then, I've lost a further 25 or 30 pounds, so I wonder if it is dropping too low and I need to go off the med entirely. My pharmacy doesn't have a blood pressure machine, so I haven't checked it, but the grocery store pharmacy by my office does, so I suppose I need to run over there and check it out.

I'm setting a goal of 7lbs this month. I didn't make goal in October and seem to be in a bit of a holding pattern the past few weeks but I'm all in and looking forward to a better month. And as always, Monday will be weigh in day to help keep me on track over the weekends!

My final weight (two days in a row) was 147.4. I'm feeling the stall and whoosh effects again! Oh well, it's alright! Still aiming for 140 or below, even though that's an even rougher goal than October. Eh - aim high right? Happy Friday!

Aw, I thought I was going to break the 143 barrier today. I had suspicions I wouldn’t, because I made chili last night and had two bowls, plus wine, pretty late. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow. I need to go to the gym tonight – busy day tomorrow and hiking on Sunday. It’s going to be a good weekend! My goal for this month is to lose 4.2lbs, even with all the holiday parties and Thanksgiving. I'm going to start training for my next summit - Mt. Shasta.

Vickilou: Way to go on an AWESOME October. Here's to another month just as good.

Snowmama: If it was homemade chili, it was probably just that it was late at night. I'm always up a pound the next morning if I eat late, even if I'm within calories. If it was canned chili, it comes with a HUGE sodium bomb, so you get water retention on top. Sure you'll be back down today.

Atarimae: You're at my goal weight. 147.4 is 120 pound down for me, and right at the top of my ideal weight range, so that's the number I'd really like to see, eventually. And nothing wrong with aiming high if it motivates you. I like to always have something to reach for for the month. That's why I often set a "I'd be satisfied with" goal and a stretch goal.

etherbunny: We all get those months that just didn't go to plan. Here's to a better November. The fact that you are working on it instead of waiting for a New Year's resolution puts you ahead of most of the population. I like your other goals. Meal prepping especially has been so important for me.

yangtzer: Welcome back

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well the last few days have been pretty stressful! After our 21 year old Subaru started showing signs of finally giving up, we decided to sell both it and our BMW (that was gifted to us) and buy one newer, reliable and cheaper to fix car. Just our luck then that on the way to work in the BMW we run over a huge nail and the tire starts losing air and fast. We dropped off the car this morning at a tire place after filling it up with air twice yesterday (second time was in the evening just to get it to stay inflated all night) and we're waiting for it to be fixed...hopefully. When there's a BMW involved we always expect the worse and a $500+ bill because owning an expensive car suuuccckkkss.
Unfortunately since we're out of a reliable car I wasn't able to attend my belly dancing class today, which was a big disappointment! However, I'm hoping the car is back with us today so we can go on a hike I've planned tomorrow. I would be REALLY bummed if I don't get to go, since the Autumn colors in GA are spectacular and they're at their peak this weekend.
As for my my weight, I was a nice 194 lbs this morning, a nice treat after being 195 lbs + for the last week or so.
SnowMama - At least you know the culprit! It's that time of year for chili, mmm. Have a great hike this weekend, I hope I get to go too
Lacerta - Isn't it the worst when you eat something unhealthy and it doesn't even fill you up? I hate that!! I hope you start feeling better soon, definitely check in with your blood pressure!
