LACERTA - hugs from everyone in the group. Sorry you had such a tough week.

It's my 17th wedding anniversary and doing something different this year. Normally it's just the 2 of us going out for dinner but our friends thought it would be a great idea to have a group outing. One couple is returning to Canada for a week on Monday, one of the ladies in the other couple is having a birthday on Tues and the other couple just moved to Mazatlan in the fall and have been working hard and not meeting a lot of people and have joined our little group. I love this community. Everyone is so supportive of each other and really look out for one another .... but I digress ..... so we are going for Italian. I like pasta but I don't like the calories. The restaurant doesn't have a menu on line so I can't translate it or do calorie searches on google. But I'll avoid pizza and creamy sauces. That's all I know at this point.

Fingers crossed I don't wake up tomorrow with an extra 5 lbs!

Have a great day everyone

kfunk, Riestrella and wantochange: Thank you for the kind words. They are very appreciated. It wasn't a Huge spider, but in my opinion, there are no small spiders. There are big, huge and gigantic. This one was only big (about the size of an ant was all), but VERY fast. I've been bit and have 3 scars from spider bites I got at my sister in law's wedding, so I'm more spider averse than the average person. But in my hair is just NO. I was in the shower in about 30 seconds flat, leaving a trail of clothes behind me.

Ophelia: HUGE congrats reaching your lowest adult weight ever. That is a really big milestone and I'm so excited for you. I don't think I've been that weight since high school or maybe freshman year of college. You are doing amazing.

I should be able to get back to doing personals again for the rest of the month now. But since I'm like 7 pages behind, I'll just start from today. Stick with it, everyone.

Week Two
08: 232.0

12: 230.6

Total Loss for Week Two:

So, not a new low, but definitely back in the right direction. That puts me the lowest I've been this week, anyway, and almost back to where I was on the 1st. Right direction again. Onward and downward for the rest of the month. Come on 220s.

Weigh in today. To my surprise,I gained 4 lbs this week. I don't know why. I've been eating clean and exercise every day it's much easier to gain weigh than lose it especially when I'm getting older.

fungirl- Thank you for sharing your diet plan with me, no wonder you have done so well!! I used to eat tacos without the shell a lot and I should incorporate that back into my rotation. Swapping sour cream out for greek yogurt is a great idea!! I have been at this for so long that I am having trouble remembering what I ate at the beginning. I hope that you had a great time at the movies!!

lacerta - I am glad that your horrible week is behind you now! eeeek, a spider in your hair, how tramatizing... I am itchy just thinking about it! Great job braving the scale!! Nice drop today, you are so close to the next decade!!!

flower- Hi!! I hope you are having a nice weekend and enjoyed your hike!!

gardener joy- Thank you for adding me to the list and nice drop!!

riestrella- I hear you on that workout lull, I get that often once I start a routine. It has been a while since I have worked out though. I hope that you are getting some relief from your TOM. And doing laundry and walking down the street multiple times counts as a workout in my opinion!!

wantochange- HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! I hope that you enjoy your dinner out!!

joe- I wouldn't worry about the jump up on the scale, it is likely water retention from all the exercising you have been doing! Keep at it and it will start to move down!!

I forgot to weigh in this morning, but I am sure it would not have been good if I had. My bad breakfast ended up setting the tone for the rest of the day. I snacked on peanut butter filled pretzel bites and then we went out to eat and I ate a large meal and then we had ice cream for desert. The 15 lbs. that I gained back feels like 50, I feel so gross. I sound like a broken record at this point, but today will be better!!

Lacerta: That is a tough week and I am so sorry about the spider. I hope this week is much better.

Ristrella: I have been struggling with the "I don't wanna's" too when it comes to working out. It's tough to push past that.

Wanttochange: Happy Anniversary!!

Yangtzer: Maybe the gain is muscle mass if you've been doing strength training. When I first started strength training I would put on a few pounds every 3 weeks or so but I would lose inches.

Kfunk6113: Anytime! Check out pinterest...there are tons of keto recipes on there. I had a great time at the movies...just what I needed.

Rie - nice drop!
Gardenerjoy - good job on your drop as well
Lacerta - so sorry to hear about your week and the spider - hope this week is better for you
ophelia - congrats on your lowest weight!
kfunk - my hike was great but quite tough - it was straight uphill for almost 2 miles, then it leveled - coming back was great
wanttochange - happy anniversary
fungirl - glad you enjoyed the movies
yangster - it's frustrating when you're eating well and exercising but don't see a loss - maybe the loss will show next week.

My eating was pretty good and I hiked/walked a little over 32 miles this week. My weight is the same as it was a week ago so all the walking I'm doing is not having any effect on my weight?

Unfortunately I don't get to tell y'all that I pushed through and worked out yesterday. It was just a meh day overall. I felt so heavy and drained all morning, but I pushed myself to go outside and take a small walk. Then when the bf got home from a meeting, we went on a longer walk together and I started to feel my energy get back up. I was stupid when he called me from the store and offered to get me a snack, I asked for peanut M&M's and started eating them like they were chips because I had one heck of a sugar craving. Then I decided I wanted salt and had some pretzels. Bleeeh. Bf made dinner for us, drunken noodles, so all that food in my belly made for (gross details alert for the rest of the paragraph!) one awful poop later that night. I get what my mum calls "gut rot" where we'll eat a combination of foods and get horrible cramps that come out all sloppy and stinky. The only good thing about it is that except for the lingering pain in the intestines it feels sooo good to get it all out. Sorry to get graphic on y'all, does anyone else have experiences like this?! It only happens when I eat terribly, another reason to stick to healthy food!!

This morning I was up to 184.4 lbs, which is much much better than what I was expecting in all honesty. One NSV is that despite my stomach still feeling hard done to this morning, I pushed through and did a workout! Even though I'm a workout behind, since I wanted to do 4 this week to make up for my vacation next week, I'm still happy that I pushed through what I would usually use for an excuse not to do it.

Because of my high weigh in's earlier in the week my average this week ended up being 185 lbs, so a 0.2 gain from last week. If I discount those weights my average would be 184.2 lbs, which is a step in the right direction PLUS I'm happy to be seeing the occasional 183 lb weigh ins too. Overall for August I've only lost 0.3 lbs, so I've got 2.7 lbs to go if I wanna make my 3 lb goal. Not sure if I'll make it, as next week from Thursday - Sunday I'm gonna be on vacation visiting a friend. I won't get the chance to be super active since I'm there to just chill and hang out (she has a tiny living room as well so I can't do my Insanity there), but I'm going to try and cram in my workouts Monday - Wednesday. We'll see though! They're intense so I don't wanna push my body too much.

wanttochange - I couldn't resist and looked up pictures of Mazatlan, it looks beautiful! Congrats on 17 years of marriage You will probably gain a little if you indulge, but life is going to throw those moments where you will give in to temptation but it's all about getting back on track afterwards!

Lacerta - I'm so sorry you've been bitten so badly before!! When I was living in Colorado, I was about to do some yoga in the basement and I grabbed the mat and threw it across the room to unwrap it. To my horror, a HUGE and FAST spider ran out of the mat! We later identified it as a wolf spider I've been scarred for life every time I grab my yoga mat No where near as bad as a bite but there's one of my spider stories Eee, you're so close to 220's!! Go go go, you can do it! Sometimes it takes time, but you are definitely in the right direction

kfunk - Yeah, especially since I live on the third floor too I definitely wasn't sedentary so I guess I can be happy about that. First of all, you are NOT gross, ok? You've regained some weight, but don't let that weigh heavy on your conscience. See this is a fresh start. I let the 38 lbs I regained over the years get to me and the guilt only sent me in the wrong direction. What started at 10 lbs regained turned into 20, then 30, then almost 40. So I'm a big advocate of give yourself a break, breathe in and out and just try again. You can do it!

Fungirl - Congrats on the drops you made this week!

flower1 - Have you been hydrating? Do you stretch after your walks? That's a lot of miles, your muscles might just need a breather! What about your protein intake? I'm sure your efforts are paying off, you just need to make sure you're refueling and hydrating and also resting! Rest is super important to weight loss too.

thank you for your kind words. I guess I have to stick with my plan

kfunk6113..don't get discouraged. try to look at the big picture, you've lost almost 100 lbs, should be proud of yourself. do you have a cheat day once a week? so you can eat whatever you want.Nothing is perfect in God's perfect plan.

Fungirl28..wow,you've lost 125 lbs, congrats, you will sure have a beachbody by the time of your cruise. are you going to western or eastern caribbean?

flower1..congrats on the 32 miles. maybe the loss will show next week. do you have a fitness tracker to track the steps?

Lacerta..congrats on heading to the right direction. btw, I saw that you live in Idaho. are only potatoes grown in Idaho can be called Idaho potatoes. Why is Idaho good for growing potatoes?

wantochange..congrats on the anniversary. what did you have at the italian place?

Riestrella..congrats on pushing yourself to go outside. I am sure you'll see better results next week. how do you like "Insanity"? are there two DVDs for cardio and strengh training?

gardenerjoy..thank you for putting this thread together. are you in the maintaince phase? is it any different than the weight loss phase?

yangtzer: It's funny, because despite the fact that I'm a 3rd generation Idahoan, I'd never even seen a potato field until I was in my 30s and still wouldn't recognize one from the road. City girl, through and through, but besides that, they are grown more in the east part of the state, much more than over in Boise, where I live. "Idaho Potato" refers to Russet potatoes grown in Idaho, but there are Russet potatoes grown in other places, from what I understand. Meh. Why would I eat someone else's potatoes, when I've got some of the best in the world right here?

I"m not a farmer, but my understanding for why Idaho is so good for potatoes (and farming in general) can be summarized in one word: Volcanoes. Volcanic soil is very rich. We've had a lot of volcanoes here, historically (Yellowstone's trail goes right across southern Idaho) and astronauts used to train in Craters of the Moon here, which is volcanic also.

I believe that, in the US at least, most french fries and restaurant baked potatoes, as well as many potato chips, come from Idaho. You're welcome, and I'm sorry they taste so good that they are addictive.
