Got back to exercise in a big way this week! But then birthday cake.....weighing in tomorrow....

Kfunk I am doing the Run 10K app as well as yoga and taebo tapes in my living room lol. It seems to be working no matter how bad I am at it...

Changing my Labor Day goal from 220 to 215. Even if I don't quite reach it, I seem to do much better when I have a higher (or in this case, lower) goal. 215!'

June may be over, but the family issues continued and I used it as an excuse to take a diet break. Happily I only gained 4 lbs and am back on plan.

I injured my plantar fascia so standing exercises aren't working for me at the moment. I'm wearing an orthotic and doing foot stretches and my foot is getting better every day. Hopefully I'll get back to my regular routine soon. In the meantime I'm just doing slow, short 20 minute walks, no weights, and some stretching.

Beginning waist measurement: 42 in.
Goal waist measurement: 39 in. (or more!)

June 9 - completed first week with alternating weights and cardio. I exercised for about 20 minutes every day with 2 rest days.
June 16 - did my exercises 3 out of the planned 5 days, had two rest days, two cheat days, and got up to 8000 steps/day this week.
June 23 - did 5 exercise days/2 rest days - 2 cardio, 2 weights, 1 yoga; added a probiotic supplement; eating limited carbs and almost no sugar.
June 30 - This week - 3 cardio, 2 weights, one yoga, one rest day - switched eating peanuts and cashews for walnuts, pistachios, and macadamia nuts, added in more vegetables, still watching the sugar, trying to eliminate all highly processed food.
Waist measurement - 40.5 in.
July 7 - 3 days of walking, four days stretches.

Hi everyone

Kfunk6113: So far I haven’t quite met the goal of as many steps on my days off as my days “on,” however I have been far more active on my days off than in the past (finished building and transplanting my garden and got a few more outdoor projects done). And the posting about something so you have to do it is my reasoning too ;)

Joyful: Way to go! Enjoy your vacation :)

Gulfmagnolia: Way to get back to working out!

Good morning ladies! I'm a little late to the party, but mind if I join in?

My Labor Day goal is twofold.

1: Reach my ultimate goal of 145.
This is the easy part. I'm already at 146, and seeing as how I'm only .7 pounds away and I've been on a whoosh from shedding two and a half weeks of water recently, I'm hoping to see it in the next couple of days. Heck, I might actually already be there and the scale just hasn't caught up!

2: Stay within two pounds of 145 from now until Labor Day (and beyond).
See, now this is the hard part. I have to learn to maintain now. My way of eating is a lifestyle change as opposed to a diet, and I'm not planning on making changes to it other than possibly "let myself have a few more treats than I am now, but still in moderation." I'm going to have to add more calories to my day somehow to maintain at 145, without reverting back to old habits and just gaining everything back. I mean, how?

That'll probably be moot anyway, because I'm moving back to the States in 19 days (but who's counting?), into a very different environment, and I am fully expecting it to throw all these healthy habits I've been trying to learn out of whack. I'm going to need to adjust and keep myself motivated to stay active and eating well in a situation that is starkly different in just about every way from what it is now. Different living situation, different foods available, different job, different everything. Frankly, it has me a little scared. I'm sure I can do it though! *determined face*

Okay, that's it. Thanks for sticking with me through that novel. Sorry, I tend to be wordy. Looking forward to seeing all of us reach our goals by Labor Day! :D

Magistra I'm so sorry about your injury! I know that particular pain, and it is awful. Keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for a speedy recovery for you.
