NNS, good attitude! Noggs, woohoo on the loss! Delphi, I was happy to see you too! Yes, these challenge threads are the best! The people here are so wonderful, so supportive. You can't beat these monthly challenge threads! Life has been good, except for me becoming obese, lol! I hope all is well with you! Sum, aw, thank you! It's good to be back. Joy, thank you, and it is more than enough! I just have to watch myself when that tricky 6-month point rolls around.
I'm adding Foundation Strategy #5 tomorrow from The Diet Trap Solution: weigh daily. Since I just read that section, I have information from the author, Dr. Judith Beck, for Synderella, in her explanation of why weighing daily is better for many of us than weighting weekly:
Quote:
You'll quickly learn to take the long view when you weigh yourself daily because you will have seven times as many opportunities to confirm that fluctuations are normal and that the scale does go down over time. p. 33
A loss of 3.4lbs this week. I must be honest that I'm a little scared that I may have taken on to big of a goal for the month, especially since I'm pretty far alone in my journey, losses don't come as easy. I will keep pushing and land as close as possible. Everyone seems to doing really well, keep up the good work everyone!!
StilettoLife, you know what's up! Keep going! SeeMyFeet, way to go! Keep that scale going down! Synderella, the jump up is just water. Good job on not letting it throw you off! Joy, I'm the type who does better if I weigh every day. For some reason, if I weigh once a week or more, I'm good as long as the scale shows I've lost weight. But if water weight takes me up and I wasn't able to see that it went down first and then back up, I'm terribly disappointed. Weighing every day, I can see how my weight naturally fluctuates while dieting, and I don't stress out about it. I'm fine if I go up a little and happy if I go down at all. : SheMac, wow! 3.4 lbs is fantastic! That is a big goal, but you look like you are on target!
So today is my cheat day! I fully expect to weigh 2-3 lbs more tomorrow, At least, that's how much I used to gain after a cheat day. Hopefully it won't be more, but we'll see! My son, daughter-in-law and grandson took the hubby and me out for lunch for an early Mother's Day celebration today, and I got the best Mother's day present EVER! I found out I am going to have a second grandchild! AND a third! They are having twins! I am so HAPPY

Thanks a bunch, Jacqui D! And WoooooHooooDeeHooooooo! for twins! An extra sweet cheek to kiss!
Look at that! We already have a goal met in May. Way to go, SeeMyFeet! Let me know if you want me to tack a second goal on the end of your line -- that would be terrific.
ShaMac: You're doing great -- a lot of us set big goals and are happy if we make progress.
May goal: work through 1st part of The Diet Trap Solution
Foundation Strategies I'm practicing daily (adding one every 3 or 4 days):
1. Read my list of advantages of losing weight
2. Eat slowly while seated
3. Give myself credit during the day
4. Read my response cards (tips, tricks, and talk-backs to sabotaging thoughts)
5. Weigh Daily (see below)
Jacqui ~ Hope that cheat day didn't do too much damage but heck, we all need them to keep our sanity. Twins sound like fun. That should definitely be an adventure.
seemyfeet ~ on hitting goal. Great job!!!!
shamac ~ You are doing well. It is harder to gauge what you can lose a month when you have less to lose. And those pounds seem to get harder and harder to get. You will figure it out though. Any pound loss in my book, is a WIN. You just keep doing what you are doing and it will come.
angelonhorseback ~ Great job on the loss. Regardless if it is water or not...its no longer there and that is a good thing. You are making good progress. Have faith and be proud of those losses.
stilettolife ~ Hey building muscle is a good thing though he can cause panic when we see that scale inch up. More muscle equals more calories burned, so in the end, a great thing. Keep up the amazing work. You are well on your way.
noggs ~ on the loss. You are well on your way to hitting your goal for the month.
Happy Mothers Day to all of the mothers! Sure hope you have a relaxing day. I am working today but that is just the way the cookie crumbles. My 2 days off were okay and I stayed within calories and managed to lose another pound. In any case, I gotta get off here and get to work. Sure hope you guys have an excellent day.
Happy Momma's day to all mothers; to baby mommas and furbaby mommas!
I had a stressful week, and I did not stay OP. I always look back and get so mad at myself for wasting time. But it is a new day, and I will do my best today.

I got a pleasant surprise with an unexpected drop after cheat day! Of course, it's being affected by water weight and it could go back up tomorrow, but I'm happy today!
Thanks SeeMyFeet! And look at you making goal and on a roll! Congrats! Joy, I can't wait! Delphi, somehow cheat day turned out better than I ever anticipated! Great job on losing another lb! Fantastic! Sum, TOM makes everyone slip out now and again. You're doing great!!
