Quick post for me. Its memorial day weekend and things are crazy busy. Syndrella for hitting GOAL.
Last week was awful. TOM all week and stress out the waazoo. In any case, Sunday begins a new week and hopefully I can get a woosh before our challenge ends. Really wanted to hit goal this month.

Reason: wanted to add goal for may
I hoped I'd get a drop this morning. I felt like yesterday's menu was light -- I'm glad I still know what that means! Also glad that it was reasonably satisfying.
May goal: work through 1st part of The Diet Trap Solution
Foundation Strategies I'm practicing daily (adding one every 3 or 4 days):
1. Read my list of advantages of losing weight
2. Eat slowly while seated
3. Give myself credit during the day
4. Read my response cards (tips, tricks, and talk-backs to sabotaging thoughts)
5. Weigh Daily (see below)
6. Build "resistance muscle"
7. Manage hunger and cravings
8. Eat according to a schedule
9. Eat according to a plan
Wow, ladeees, you're all doing so well! May started out so well for me, butttt....
I'm still in a whirlpool of pain and depression re this RA stuff...pain, stiff and swollen joints, fatigue...it's just gotten so much worse so quickly. At times I've needed DH's help getting into the bath and off the toilet (sorry, tmi).. it's been that bad...I just want to sleep all the time and I've been feeling like all the good things in life are over.
....and they will be, unless I snap out of this....so thanks for sharing your stories of hard work and success...8 days are remaining in May...I can get a lot done in 8 days, right???...... Time to get off my butt and stop feeling sorry for myself.
Hi All, I'll try to get to personals tomorrow. It will be a bit of a different 10 days for me, being back home visiting with Dad. I'm up only 1.5 lbs today after cheat day so that's good!
SeeMyFeet, please be kind to yourself. The depression that goes along with RA is real with both mental and physical effects on your body, and you can't just "snap out of it," so please don't blame yourself for not being able to. Just keep trying to embrace the positives around you. Sometimes I was so low, I couldn't make myself think positive thoughts, so I decided to bypass my thoughts altogether and go straight for my senses. I pet my cat and sat in the sunshine. I listened to upbeat music that I knew I liked. I sipped on tea and ate strawberries. I watched funny or cute videos on youtube. I smelled fragrant flowers. The effect of RA can be complicated and overwhelming. Just take one day at a time. And please be gentle and patient with yourself, just as you would a loved one who was sick. You wouldn't blame them for having no energy and not being upbeat, so please don't blame yourself. And believe that you will have better days, because you will!

LOL, SeeMyFeet! Being Jacqui's cat does sound like the perfect life, doesn't it? Great to see you have retained your sense of humor through all of this.
Yesterday was the biggest our holiday celebration is going to get -- so I'm very pleased with a drop this morning!

It looks like I won't be making my goal this month. I got lazy with calorie counting some weekends, and I got a new job at one of those offices that has every amenity ever...including free snacks everywhere. (Not complaining...but it sure does mean I eat a few extra calories). I'll be trying for 178 again next month, and focus more on meal planning/calorie counting
AngelOH, CONGRATS on making goal! That calls for some dancing things! SeeMyFeet, heck, I want to be my cat! Lol! My cats live a charmed life! Cake, hang in there! Syn, so close! You'll be hitting that goal any day now! Joy, woohoo on the drop! English, way to resolve to lose that weight next month! And you get to begin with a good head start this week! Delphi, good luck! Wishing that whoosh for you!
As for me, being at my Dad's house, I'm using his bathroom scale and I have no idea if it aligns with mine (with that big of a drop, I don't think so), so I'm going to put my weight in parentheses until I get back home to my own scale.
