Way it goes for me. B F R Berliner... If you are eating less than it takes to maintain, then no matter what the scales tell you, you ARE losing fat. FAT is what we want rid of. The liquids WILL make adjustments.... WHEN THE BODY DECIDES IT DOES NOT WANT TO CARRY THAT WEIGHT. I know it does not feel great doing what ya should to lose and not see the scales going down, but for most of us that is the way it is.... for some, like me, it is REALLY like that, some of the fortunates get to see their losses purt much as they make them. Just do what you know and though it does not FEEL GOOD knowing that you are losing but not seeing it, that is the way it is. Relax as best as possible and enjoy the ride ;) Many years back (I am NOT going to admit it was almost half a century ago) my daughter, 14, and wife entered into a college class about weight loss. She told me some of the things she learned there which she found very fascinating and they hit me the same way. 1. The body does not make more fat cells, we are born with the amount which we will always have. They are storage units and the body stores fat in them. 2. The body does not like to change size. It likes consistency. If it uses some fat it will fill that space with liquid (water) to take up the space. It will try to maintain that size. It will dispose of that water and space WHEN IT WANTs TO. Not when we want it to ;) Beyond our mental control. There are some things which we can do to kinda force the body to let go of it sooner... But why bother??? It will go in time anyway. Some of those things are, and the best one is hard exercise, the kind that leaves ya sweating like crazy and exhausted. The body will drop that liquid then because it has to choose whether to carry that extra weight it does not need when it just causes more exertion in carrying it. One word on this also though, that works by itself if one is in phisical condition to do that. If you do not have the muscle groups in shape for that you will get very sore from the exercise, the body will MOVE that extra water from the fat cells to the sore muscle cells and surround them with liquid and make more cells to help out. A good thing really, but you will not see an instant drop there, plus may take on more liquid to help with the sore muscles and new muscle growth. LOL wierd how that works eh?? Another thing one may do is drink plenty of water which helps carry off impurities, especially those remaining from burning that excess fat. Putting lime or lemon in your water helps a lot toward having the body release that extra water. When I do add lime or lemon I see that immediate release. Keeping adding it helps keep the body releasing the extra. Hope that helps ya a bit, knowing that sure helps me along the way on this great weight loss journey :) I am down 90 lbs now, 10 lbs to go to goal and 100 lbs off. B F R |

gardenerjoy - when I drink warm lemon water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and wait an hour or so before eating anything else, it really helps with releasing water retention :D
