workinglikeadog If you stay on track your body will eventually have to follow along and cooperate. Just stay strong!!

shr1nk1ngme Hooray!

ajlee ahh the sodium mighta caused retention, just stay OP and it'll go back the other way again

gardener thats a great start! go you!

rsadler woot new low at ww weigh in! good job!

susan looks like you have some water retention, drink lots of water, with lemon if you like it that way, it helps

darius nice drop!

teati you can do it!

turtle ooops! throw some lemon in with that water, it helps and tastes yummy

nightangel yup, that water is coming off, I wish faster but all I can control is my patience.

Today I went to the gym and got a decent workout in. I have also been working on my pushups. I do angled pushups cause I don't have the strength for floor ones yet. I moved to a lower angle and can only do one or two at a time :( but soon enough that'll climb and before I know it I will lower my angle again!

pnkrckpixikat 01-02-2014 06:00 PM

night angel what are you doing? 500 seems SUPER low, 1000 is still crazy low but much more managable if you have the right foods... make sure to take vitamins or something though!

I do knee pushups because I can't move my entire bodyweight. It's kinda privately humiliating because I used to be in the marine corps but at least I'm doing pushups of some kind and I'm making progress. I'll be back to doing real pushups in time for summer.

Yeah NightAngel 500 is hella low. Don't wreck your health please but also don't take nutritional advice from me.

NightAngel26 01-02-2014 08:34 PM

response....

darius and pnkrckpixicat: eh, yes I know 500 is super low, sometimes people are willing to do anything I guess... I planned it last year before I found out I was pregnant and bought the stuff to try it but I was reading here that the diet (HTC) is not supported here and I thought about it and understand why. It's just too dang low. So it'll be more like IP but I don't buy special stuff I just eat more things with higher protein. As for calories, I've spent so long looking at calories and such that I have a relative idea but am not going with strict adherence, mostly because it's hard enough going low carb when most of what I eat is carbs- cereal, pasta, sandwiches, wraps, chips, and yes pastries and cakes. So, although I do eat other things I've eaten a lot of carbs and tend to find them and overeat.

I'm doing well so far with rare twangs of cravings, kinda wanted a sandwich when I made them for the kids today, yesterday really wanted ice cream from the freezer but totally walked away :encore:

Yes I need to find the vitamins I bought for this diet....was a long time ago and I have way too many things :(

Jacqui_D 01-02-2014 09:17 PM

Aw, Sum, thanks! I get as excited for others' progress as I do my own, lol!

JennyB, you can do it! Woohoo Onederland! :cheer:

Wow Pixikat, a 2-lb drop overnight! That's awesome! :carrot: And good job on the push-ups!

Workinglikeadog, you are so welcome! This is really a great group to be a part of. The ladies and gents on this thread just don't realize how big a part they play in keeping me motivated and if I can help others in the same way, I'm delighted! :D

Shr1nk1ngme, yay on the lb down! :dancer:

Ajlee, I'm sure that's just a little water from working out. :exercise: (Your body has to repair those muscles!) It will be gone before you know it!

Joy, thanks for the list, and great job on the drop! :flow2:

Rsadler, yay! Keep it going! :broc:

Susan, no worries, just a little water weight! :dizzy: Stay on plan, drink water, and it will drop back off!

Darius, woohoo on the good start! :cp:

Hi Marion! :welcome: 6 lbs is a good goal! :goodluck:

Turtle, you got this!

NightAngel, congrats on being a lb down! :cb: I'm glad you aren't doing HTC or 500 calories. I was surprised that you were counting calories on a low-carb diet since going low-carb kind of regulates overeating on its own, but it's not unheard of. Some people just like to know the calorie count, kind of like I want to know how much I weigh every single day. It's just an added way to keep track!

ajlee33 01-02-2014 09:54 PM

Thanks everyone. You are all so motivating :) for the past four days I have done two a day workouts and as well as today. So I'm hoping that will make up for the little workouts I'll do once i go back to work on Monday. But I'm a teacher so hopefully being on my feet will help a lot. :)

Night Angel:

"Still going for mainly veggies, meat and fruit w a little dairy. the diet is extreme at 500 cals so I'm going more for 1,000 and allowing pork. "

I do not want to be giving advise, but I cannot hold back on a warning for you being as you say you are pregnant. Other than being pregnant I would say nothing, as your situation would have to work itself out soon anyway. A person who eats too short of a caloric intake for their diet will start feeling lethargic, listless, depressed and worst of all, lessor mental abilities and soon go off that plan. And that is exactly what happened to me when I was eating around 700-900 calories a day back in Sept.

However, with you in early stages of pregnancy, going too short can cause severe life long problems for your child, cleft palate being one of the worst.

At your weight and height your maintenance caloric requirements are somewhere between 2400 - 3000 calories per day. Some sites say less, some as much as 3800. Unfortunately it is extremely difficult to find reliable info on this. The US government "My Plate" is supposed to be the most reputable and you would have to put in the info there yourself to get their data.

Losing weight while pregnant I know there is no problem with, but one should be very careful to take daily multi vitamins to insure proper minerals and such and use a doctors advice.

My cousins wife, many years back, was put on a diet by her doctor to make for a safer pregnancy and she lost something like 50 lbs while pregnant. She was obese. So I know it can safely be done and should be. And I also know you are placing your child in danger if you go too low on required nutrition.

Please go to a doctor and use his/her advise and be safe.

I hope you take no offense on this.

Best regards and wishes for both you and your child.

Hello all! Hope you had a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year ;)

I'm signing up for this month again and I'm keeping my goal of 63kgs. I weighed myself this morning at 64.5! Yay

Night angel

thanks for the encouragement, it's my first time trying to diet using help from this website, but I can't count the times which I have tried to lose weight before which is why it's time to start again

darius 01-03-2014 01:25 AM

Rhiko what a fine cat! I miss having a cat. We lost our cat last year; she was 21 years old.

yesterday's exercise: jackie warner extreme cardio workout
yesterday's calories: 1700

hi everybody :)

So, my reason for coming back to school early was that I could focus on studying - I just found out the library is closed until the 8th. I'm one of those people that don't do well studying at home (too many distractions - Netflix, pnkrckpixikat ;)), but I really need to get started so I hope pressure will force me to do so.
On a good note, the weather is supposed to be nice the next couple of days, so I can go run.
I tried this new workout DVD last night: jackie warner extreme cardio workout. Has anyone tried it? The lady scares me a bit (SO MANY MUSCLES!!) and I'm not sure what the cardio was supposed to be, but my legs and shoulders are sore today. So, must be good ;)

Jacqui_D haha, baby woosh! ;) You'll sure get it. And like the others said, thanks for being so awesome with the personals!!

gardenerjoy thanks for taking care of the list :)

Rsadler126 yay for being down after NYE!

darius hi!! I'm also weighing-in on Fridays this month! You had a great start!

NightAngel26 It's pretty weird, the more busy I am, the better I am with eating and exercise. So I'm glad to be back at school :) Also, thanks for the personals :)
About the 1000cal diet: try to make sure you eat healthy. I personally would find such a low calorie diet hard to maintain, so maybe kick-start and then find something a little more sustainable? But also don't take diet-advice from me, at the moment I'm better at gaining than at losing ;) I totally agree with what Big Fat Rooster said though.

pnkrckpixikat no worries about the angled push-ups! I don't have a lot of arm-strength, so after one year of doing it regularly, mine still aren't too great. My crossfit coach/trainer/instructor/person/whatever it's called said the important thing is the posture, so I try to focus on keeping my back straight and stomach hard instead of dropping down super far.

ajlee33 hi :) what kind of little workouts do you do? I'm looking for couple good exercises I can do before school, that don't take up a lot of time and don't wear me out. I'm thinking about starting the plank-challenge (http://30dayfitnesschallenges.com/30...ank-challenge/) right now. Well, actually I think I'll start tomorrow. Thanks for making me think :P

Okay, I'll pretend I'm at the library now. Have a great day everyone!! :belly:

lemc87 01-03-2014 03:21 AM

I'm in!

I'm hoping to lose between 5-10 lbs this month by eliminating no-no foods and exercising more. :)

Wow, there is a lot of catching up to do on here from just one day to the next!!! Looks like everyone is starting out the month strong, with a good plan in mind. I was a bit of a naughty girl yesterday. :devil:Was cleaning out the fridge and found a couple of lost and sad looking peanut butter balls (peanut butter, powdered sugar and chocolate coating) and I ate them before I had a chance to get control of myself. Hated myself all day for it...So, I made sure there are no more left over sweets from Christmas in the house. Hubby promptly deposited the few remaining items in the trash for me last night.
The weekend is upon us already. It's going to be cold and snow possibly 6-9 inches here. I am making my weekend goal to work out both days with my videos...I see some Turbo Jam in my future! :exercise: Okay everyone...be good to yourselves today!!!
