CW: 172.4 (-3) GW: 169.9 (-5.5) This is happening faster than I thought and I'm having mixed feelings and this is why I wasn't sure if I should join in on a weight loss challenge :-) I know there's a lot of water weight in that and come Christmas and I eat regularly (or actually probably overfeeding myself...let's call it a three day "Leptin reset" :-P) I'll probably be back in the high 170's. Then I'm not sure how I'll feel. I just hope I'll not feel stressed to drop all the water weight in the few days I have left of December just to reach my goal. I am going to eat during Christmas anything I want, it's my firm decision, though I will still do IF and I try not to eat all the time even during my eating window. Scales are stupid... The ones that measure weight that is. Not the nature's sequin dresses. Those are actually kind of cool :-) |

My goal is to lose 8lbs in the month of December and start 2014 in the 150's!!! December 10th - 166.8lbs December 11th - 166.0lbs (-0.8lbs) December 12th - 166.0lbs December 13th - 165.6lbs (-1.2lbs) Well the scale moved!! Ha, 183, the same thing happened to me! I've been eating lots of weird stuff lately, not exactly all the way off plan, but not great. And every time I'm dreading the worst, the scale goes down more than I ever expected.
I actually weighed in at my December goal today, but I'm so suspicious I'm not posting it. It must be a Christmas miracle! |

You got a nice whoosh for your weigh-in, too. 183StGB: good for you for stopping with the chocolate truffle incident. Scales are weird. Great job making a plan for today! SparklyBunny: don't worry -- we're very supportive through scale ups and downs. You might consider Jacqui_D's method of cheat days -- she eats what she wants but only until she's no longer hungry. That kind of puts a lid on things for her. I don't trust my sense of hunger enough to try that, so my method is to plan my treats -- if I wrote them down on my plan, then it doesn't feel like cheating and I can keep in control that way. Thanks for the visual of mermaid dresses! Those of you hitting goal, already, let me know when you want to make it official! I'm totally owning it if I see goal at any point in the next couple of weeks. |

I had a whoosh today but have undone hard work this evening eating two mince pies, two slices of Yule log and a large selection of cheese. I turned up with my trusty salad but ate everything else too. I did that earlier in the week. Need a mantra for tomorrow. 'Salad for lunch, champagne for dinner'! Had an ok week. Down 1.6 pounds. A few slip ups but I am not going to beat myself up about it though. Its the holiday season and there is SOO much great food around that I don't think its possible for me to hold back all of the way. I have been making sure that I don't sit down with the bowl/plate of goodies in my lap and go to town though;) Keep up the great work the rest of you though!!

yesterday's calories: don't know yesterday's exercise: -- today's weigh-in: 76,3kg (168.2lbs) change: +0,5kg (+1.1lbs) good morning :) Well, my cookie plan didn't work out as I planned -- I didn't taste while making them, but I had couple after they were done. SO GOOD! Best part though: the friend I was baking with is Muslim so she never made Christmas cookies before - she enjoyed the cut out cookies with sprinkles like a little kid :) it was really funny. Anyways, I have a friend visiting for the night I haven't seen in a year. Thank you, gardenerjoy, Lyn77, Jacqui_D (good point about reaching the goal and not worrying about the "Christmas aftermath") and 183StGB. I'm not actually that worried about the reality of what's happening in my body any given day. I'm quite good pals with my body these days, so we understand each other :-) I'm also fine with being strict now and then eating liberally during Christmas (because I've planned it, it's still sort of strict) and I'm fine with how my body reacts to it. I worry, because I'm afraid that I slip into obsessing about the numbers. Tracking progress is great and gives good information on what's happening over a longer period of time, but obsessing about it becomes a stressor and I try to avoid that.
So I guess my other goal for this December challenge is to try to get through the challenge itself with cheerful enthusiasm and genuine interest, and not get too caught up with the numbers game :-) I hope everyone is having a pleasant start for the weekend! Or if you're in the land of the hobbits, you are already enjoying your weekend! :-) |
