Hello all. My body is getting used to calorie counting, but I can tell when I'm honestly still hungry. Last night around 6:00 I had eaten a total of 1657 calories, but by 8:00 I was getting a headache and my stomach was growling. So, I had a small bowl of Cheerios and some peanut butter. This bumped me up another 300 calories, but I felt so much better after eating it. One thing I've learned with calorie counting is that you have to eat when you are hungry -- you don't want to starve yourself!!

hello all! So it looks like I will be eating on campus on Tuesdays for dinner. The dining hall actually has some pretty good healthy options and calorie counts listed, so it shouldn't be too challenging. The only thing that I think may be difficult is that I am sure the sodium levels are closer to a restaurants then eating at home so I might be back to the bi-weekly sodium bounces.

Sigh. what happens when I don't check in. Ah well. I didn't exercise as I usually do and food was a mess, so weight gain happens (what a surprise).

Angelique ~ it is very, very difficult to lose 2.2 a week. For me, I'd have to eat only 1300-1400 calories AND exercise and that's just not going to happen. I'd be starving myself. How are you dieting? Are you counting calories? Doing Weight Watchers?

PIXI: ur numbers look good!!

Tray: just stay the course, it comes off again. You have to shrug off the up fluctuations and keep going to see you are on a downward trend, so you gained a little.. this will all be behind you in a month.

Angelique: try not to be discouraged be happy with small losses your body comp could be changing, many things such as bloat, hormones, sodium come into play here, don't quit be use you will get there, remember the turtle and the hare?

Turtle11 09-12-2013 07:43 AM

So it has been such a crazy month so far, I'm hoping that I can get back on track now! I've been to the hospital twice this month (Everyone is ok now!!!!) hubby's birthday, our anniversary, and a three day trip to the cabin all within the first 11 days of September. I guess I'm just glad that I have been mostly maintaining. Will catch up on everyone's posts today.

Angelique32: I averaged less than a pound a week on the way down -- with a couple of stalls of a month or more (and one unfortunate period where the weight went up instead of down). There's no "should" about how fast you'll lose.
The conventional advice, here, seems to be to give a plan about 3 weeks. If you're not seeing results, then it's probably time to change something -- the serving size of a couple of items, remove a snack, change to an entirely different plan (which is also a good treatment for boredom), exercise more and/or add strength training. There's always something to experiment with!
But give it time, you may be sitting on the precipice of a whoosh!

pnkrckpixikat 09-12-2013 09:30 AM

Good morning!

Angelique as previous posters said, there is no set amount you should lose each week. Our bodies are mysterious machines and often times we have to do what we know should work and wait out it's stubborness. Looking at your weigh ins though you did lose .8, but then something bumped you back up. I would bet water retention of some sort since you have since been flushing it back off.

emme looks like you are doing great! keep it up

cheeriloos Hooray for a new low!!!!

turtle sounds like a busy and stresfull beginning of the month. awesome job maintaining! I hope the rest of your month goes smoothly and the pounds melt off :)
