bethann - It may depend on the pants. Yesterday I noticed as I folded a load of tan and brown shorts, capris, and pants. They all fit me and here are the sizes...16 slightly loose, 14, 12, 10 slightly tight. Although when I was down to 164.4 last fall I was wearing mostly size 8s.

envelope, I know it can be where the pants came from, your muscle to fat ratio....but some are just way off. I guess I see it is unrealistic when I look at the pics of them. I just get frustrated when women feed into the "the smaller the size I am the better I am", and feel they should just celebrate their weight loss without regards to pants size, as it is so subjective.

Bethann1970 I'm not really concerned with what size my pants are, mine currently range from tight 18s to loose 24s. Yes I know the 18 is like a freak accident. And today's size 6 or 8 is not the same as when I was in high school. I think we should worry about how healthy we are.

It turns out that my starting weight was actually 184lbs. I found out later last Monday that my scale was broken, and off by 3.5lbs! EEP! I worked hard this week, and made great progress, though.

WOW, Meka! Great job on losing 50 lbs. You need to celebrate...get a manicure, buy a new pair of sneakers, or just get a new book! I've made a list of "rewards" for every 5 lbs I lose. Nothing huge until goal, and then I'm going to the spa!

Congrats, Meka150! Speaking of celebration, WOW, envelope. You lost more than six pounds in the last week! That's amazing.

RVA - yes and no...my body loses weight strangely. I hold onto weight when I should be losing and then woosh!

June 11 – 192.6
June 18 – 191.6
June 25 – 192
July 2 – ?
July 9 – 192.2
July 16 – 190
July 23 – 184.6

While the scale dropped 6 lbs in a week, it was weight that the scale owed me.

Extremely frustrated. Still at 166, starting week 3 of C25K tomorrow.

I've been staying in my calorie limit for the most part, and even when I go over I'm still below 1500...jogging every other day which I know isn't really burning anything, but it helps me feel like I'm doing something healthy.

So I'm crankyfaced, and going to have to try harder next week. Calorie counting/exercising without any results (on the scale or in measurements) is ticking me off.

Meka150 thats awesome!!! way to go!

envelope size 8 at 165? This pretty much confirms my suspicion that I'm made entirely of pudding. I'm barely squeezing into a size 12 right now.

Thanks ladies, the first 25lbs seemed to just melt away but the second half I've really had to earn. Everyone seems to be headed in the right direction. Welcome to all the newbies as well.

Tinneranne2, jogging really is burning something! The average is 100 calories/mile, but Harvard Health Publications goes more in-depth on this graph. You might need to add in intervals, or otherwise vary your jogging routine in order to break through the stall though. Good luck!
