Hello, everyone. Did about 1600 calories today and a 30 minute brisk walk. Had some off plan foods today - cinnamon bun and peppermint Mentos (so much for no sugar!). I threw away the leftovers so I won't be tempted tomorrow. Still trying to find my footing.

Good morning ladies,

Guacamole - Here's to a no sugar day for you. You did good by getting rid of the leftover Mentos. That's what I had to do with the ice cream I had leftover on Saturday. It was hard to do but I did it. Hang in there and keep trying.

Mia - I love doing the Firm workouts. The guarantee results in 10 workouts and I always see results right away after about 5 workouts. I have just started back with the workouts. You can check them out at firmdirect.com.

Penguin - You'll have to post a pic of your sweater when you finish it. I'm thinking about crocheting a baby blanket for a friend who is having a baby in Sept. My problem is that it's so hard for me to sit still long enough to do it. It does help me to not think about food while I'm doing it so I'll probably get it started.

I had a good day yesterday and NO SUGUR, not even a piece of fruit. I did wake up with a slight headache todayfrom no sugar but I will stick to it. Once I get past the first couple days I'll be good.

I hope everyone has a great OP Monday!

I'd like to join this inspirational group.

My goals:
1. On plan for 31 days
2. Exercise daily. More weights, cardio - treadmill, elliptical, walking outside.
3. Eat healthier.

Well, it didn't take me long to go off plan and eat some sugar. I made brownies last night. Then iced them. The good news is I subbed the applesauce for the oil and added some extra cinnamon to help counteract the sugar spike, at least. I only had 1 then froze the rest for a later date. TOM is this week so I blame that.

Hubby and I are shopping today. Fun stuff, then groceries and essentials.

Mia, I feel its less about quick results and more about what I will be consistent about. Are you looking for cardio, weights, or both together, such as your JM dvd? Most of my cardio is either Leslie Sansone or kickboxing. Most of the weights I enjoy are fewer reps but using heavy weights, but I do have some using light weights {under 8lbs} but do many, many reps; similar to Gettin's Firms.

Gettin, Here's a link to my sweater. http://ravel.me/patchworkpenguin/t65ei Obviously, I'm not done yet but you get the idea, One of the reasons I picked up my knitting again is to keep myself from eating, out of habit, while watching TV at night with Hubby.

Guac, I'm using a 1400 exchange plan but I keep going over so I'm probably actually doing a 1600 with you. 1400 is very low for me so I don't mind going over a bit as I get used to it.

Hello, everyone. On plan so far today. Almost caved with a trip to my ice cream store, but I opted for a greek yogurt and kashi cereal instead. I told myself I could always get an ice cream later when my kids and husband are home. The store isn't going anywhere! So, at the very least I held off.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Round 1 of shopping is over. We just got too hot to keep going and came home to rest before going to the groc store later. I remembered there's a used exercise equipment store that's I'd like to look for kettlebells. They've gotten more expensive!!!

Tyla, welcome, glad to have you join us.

Well, so much for less sugar. I had a couple of the cookies I took to the office and then had a big cookie at our lunch meeting. I knew I would regret that big cookie since I did the same thing last month - tuna wrap and a big cookie, and within an hour I felt uncomfortably stuffed. Gah, how many times before I learn it's not worth it??

Lots of exercise today, though, so I probably netted 1500 calories. I used my new, slightly heavier dumbbells (I went from 16 to 20) and was pleased with how they felt.

guac, good work on deferring the ice cream. I need to remind myself that waiting for even 20 minutes often results in the craving going away. I procrastinate on everything else, why not on snacking too?

Work is sending Hubby to NYC for a few days later this week. Neither one of us is real happy about it, but what can we do. Hubby figures he won't have any time to site-see or do anything fun, since he'll be there to train someone.

Good morning everyone

Guacamole - Great job on resisting the ice cream yesterday and opting for the Greek yogurt

Steph - Don't beat yourself up but just try harder to resist the next time. Otherwise, it sounds like you had a good day.

Penguin - Sorry you aren't excited about your hubby going to NYC. I wish it was me going. I used to live there and I still miss the city. I haven't been in almost 2 years and I'm going crazy to get there. Hope you have a great OP day.

I'm working on day 3 of no sugar and I'm feeling much better today. I've been tempting to follow the South Beach Phase 1. Starting tomorrow, I'll be going back to my WW plan but will follow the Simply Filling/Core plan. I miss having my fruit Yesterday I had an awesome walk. A new neighborhood center recently opened up near me and my friend encouraged me to go with her and it was so nice. It has an indoor track and lots of fitness machines. I walked the track briskly for 50 minutes and did about 10 mins on the eliptical. I'm excited because when I can't get out to walk after work in the wintertime or when it's raining or too hot, I can go there and it's FREE! You just have to live in the County.

I hope you all have a great OP day!

GettinFit and PatchworkPenguin, thank you for the warm welcome.

GettinFit, congrats on not eating sugar for 3 days! I agree with you about the fruit. I would miss it, too. Besides, fruit has a lot of vitamins. So I think going back to the weight watchers plan is probably healthier. And congrats on all the exercise at the rec center!

Penguin, that's a cute pic of your dog. Sorry your hubby has to go out of town. (I hate when my hubby has to go out of town for work!) But he'll be back before you know it!

Did well yesterday. Ate 1390 cals. and exercised 55 minutes. The heat is not very motivating, but I did it! This morning I did my weights before breakfast. Will do my cardio tonight.

Now on to today...
Let's do this thing.

GettinFit; Awwww that sounds really good, I'll defiantly check their site.
Thanks a million :*

Penguin; I love the cardio workouts a lot, especially walking/running. But I hear you need weight training to tone up and avoid the loose skin. So, am looking for both. Awwww I do have the Leslie Sansone-Walk 5 Miles DVD Absloutly amazing!! Thanks for the help darling :*
