Weight Loss Buddies VIII
Ok Ladies, we were over our 500 posts, so thought I'd get a new one started.
Allison - this is a new thread, so a new path out of the 190's! How did you do on plan today? Any fun new DVD's? Dance - Wow, can only imagine how hot it is in Texas right now. It's 90 and humid here...must be ten times worse where you are. When are you back in CO? Katylil - Welcome!! Glad you found our little group. Just some background - most of us have been together for over a year (I think almost 18 months now). We share about our WL and our lives in general. We have a very supportive group of ladies here! I'm a calorie counter / workout with a trainer (Jeff - you'll see his name from time to time). Ok ladies, today was good on plan - just have to get these knees back in shape so I can work out again. My knees are still in pretty bad shape and my sciatica is starting to flare up here and there (not a good sign at all). Jeff is back from vacation tomorrow, I have an appt with him at 1:00 to ARP. Hoping this will do the trick because I go back on Friday too. Lucky me! Great find of the day!!! Went to JCPenney to attempt to find something to wear to my SIL's bridal shower. found a super cute black and white dress on sale for $25 - and it was a size 14!! Wohooo!! Hope everyone is doing well and checks in again soon! |
Thanks for starting the new thread, Maddiesmom! And I want to see pix of that new dress when you get a chance. I've found some dresses at JCP in the last year too - the one I brought to my reunion in Philly was from there. I've done some discount shopping here in houston in my free evenings and have had no luck at all but glad you're having good shopping karma!
Am going to try to get in another workout today. How are you all doing? |
Dance: Well, I bought the dress for the bridal shower, which is next week, so I'll have some pictures posted on FB shortly after. It's a sleeveless dress, black and white. Since I don't like my arms, I have a cute short sleeved dressy jacket to wear over it. Just need to pick up some spanx and I'm good to go! Oh and shoes...gotta find new shoes.
How is everyone today? I didn't work out, but did have my ARP appt at 1:00 - probably the most painful one yet, but we found the spots that need to get taken care of (looking on the bright side). It's my hamstring and my kneecap on my left leg. I've had issues with my left hip and sciatica on my left side and when he turned the dial, I felt the pain surge everywhere, so that's where we're going to work going forward. I go back tomorrow at 1:00 again. Food has been good, trying to keep it on track since I'm not working out, but I have to eat some extra protein since I'm getting those muscles worked so much. I'm getting there, but it's going to take some time and a little more pain to get through it. Hope everyone finds the new thread and joins us! Have a great day! |
Yay Vicky-new thread to get to the 180s, we can do it. I hope you get your knees straightened out. Knee pain sucks. I have weak knees but nothing like you are going through. Cant wait to see your cute dress.
Dance-are you sweating your butt off in TX(literally), lol. Finished packing for our weekend of fun. Its gonna be nice to get away. Cant wait to see the baby. Gonna miss my pups though, but they will be good. They are staying with the same lady that kept them while we were in AL. I was getting frustrated with the muffin top trying on clothes for the weekend. I wish I could spot train and get rid of it. Oh well, at least its getting smaller. I better get in the shower and get to bed. Gotta get up early. Yuck. |
Hi ladies!
Thanks Vicky, it really sounds like you're all so supportive of each other, I'm glad I found this thread! :) Ouch on the knee pain. It's not nice, especially when you're trying to work out! I'm a Musical Theatre student and I get a lot of shin pains which isn''t helpful AT ALL in dance classes. Hope it starts to feel at least slightly better soon! Also, dress photos! It sounds lovely! :) Burgundy - muffin tops. UGH. I hate mine. Wit ha burning passion. If I had to lose weight off only one place, that would be it (but thankfully it doesnt have to be lost off only one place and it's very slowly getting smaller!) I've done quite well with food lately. Today I'm going to go over my calorie count, cos it's my mum's birthday and cake and beef stroganoff is involved...but it's a treat and I'll be back on track tomorrow. Exercise on the other hand...I slipped on the wet-from-rain road the other day and fell off my moped, banging my head and several other appendages. I got checked out at A&E and no concussion or anything, but a bit of whiplash is making it painful for me to move my neck and the doctor said no strenous activity, so exercise has been out! :( hopefully I'll be completely fine and back on my elliptical again by monday! |
katylil - ouch! poor you - that sounds awful. hope you recover soon!
burgundy - how's your ankle doing? maddiesmom - you are such a trooper for going through these treatments - can't wait until you're pain-free! Just did a short run on the treadmill in the fitness center and am having peanut butter on ww toast since burgundy got me thinking about it ;) I fly back to denver this evening thank goodness. What's everyone up to over the weekend? |
Morning, girls! Happy weekend! I've been up since 4am and am a little punchy but am happy to be home. Am going to either do my usual run in the park or get out for a good walk later - not sure. And run a gazillion errands. What's everyone else doing?
|
Hahaha afternoon from where I am!
4am Dancer??! Wow! Kudos! No way I can get up that early. 7am is my earliest time for getting up! Well I'm back to work in a bit for my afternoon shift. Quite pleased, I weighed myself this morning: I'm down a pound and a half! Not exactly sure how that happened considering I had beef stroganoff and chocolate cake yesterday...sure, they were small portions of both, but still! :) Still no exercise (except for my usual walking here and there at work) but I already have a plan in place for next week and the two following, which will bring me to the date of my first mini-goal: 147 pounds on 1st of September! Hope you're all having a good day! |
:) So, the 4am thing wasn't on purpose - my bf has trouble sleeping sometimes and I tend to wake up when he does. Got in a nap this morning though which helped.
katylil - congrats on a 1.5lbs! Great job!! |
Sorry I haven't been around ladies! Most of the time, I'm checking from work on my lunch break, but since I've been ARPing during lunch and work has been crazy, hasn't left me much time.
So, I ARPed on Thursday and Friday and we finally found the end all, be all problem. It's my hamstring to my knee. Extremely painful. Thursday I got the dial to 6.2 (out of 10), and went back on Friday, and only improved slightly - 6.6. Going back Monday through Wednesday to get this blasted out and done. I going to check with Jeff to see what my options are after Wednesday, at that point I've done 10 sessions. Hoping that I can take the pain a little more and get to 10, but right now I'm not sure that's possible. Can't really work out at all while this is going on. Luckily I'm maintaining, so I guess I can't complain too much. dance: Sorry for your early morning! I feel your pain. Maddie wakes up at 4 each morning and then comes in my room to sleep. Hard to sleep when a 2 year old hogs the bed!! Did you get any running done this weekend? Katylil: Congrats on the 1.5!!! GReAT JOB!!! Sorry to hear about your accident, hoping you are on the mend and feeling better soon! Glad to see you have a mini goal, you can definitely achieve it by September! So, went out shopping again yesterday at the local outlet mall. They have an Ann Taylor outlet (totally love their clothes). Got 3 pairs of slacks and 3 shirts for less than $150. Not too shabby. Then went to the coach outlet and they had this super cute bag that was originally $298, got it for $70! Gotta love outlet sales. Got a matching wallet too, couldn't resist. Worst thing I could have done? Gone to McDonald's for dinner. I was starving by the time I left the mall (My own fault, there was noone with me), so I had a grilled chicken sandwich with no mayo, which was fine, but then I had the fries. Man, my stomach is killing me today. Now I definitely know, no more fast food. I can't take it anymore. Guess it's a lesson learned. How was everyone else's weekend? Hoping everyone is doing well! |
** Tail tucked... shameful face!** Hi girls. Can you forgive me for dropping off the face of the earth?
|
AJ: WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I missed you! How have you been? Love the new picture of you. Let us know what's been going on. You know you are more than welcome back at any time! :)
|
katylil-congrats on the 1.5 lbs. Beef stroganoff sounds yummy, havent had it in ages. How is your neck feeling? I like your minigoals.
Dance-my ankle is feeling fine now, it seemed to only be that one day it was bothering me. Dont know what that was all about. Peanut butter is a weakness of mine. I had to drag somebody along with me, lol. Vicky-so sorry you are going thru this pain again with your knees. You are one tough cookie to go thru these treatments. Are you able to do any kind of workout or just trying to take it easy? **Jealous**, I wanna go shopping. I am waiting to lose more before I get anything new. I did go to Rue 21 a few weeks ago and got a couple shirts and I got a sweater Saturday at TJ Maxx. AJ-Of course we forgive you. We are glad to have you back. How is Seattle? My walk of shame now.................I ate pretty much anything I wanted on Friday and Saturday while we were out of town. That even includes a breakfast buffet on Saturday, yikes. Well I paid for it Sat night and Sunday. My stomach was a mess(Vicky, I feel ya on no more fast food) I barely ate anything yesterday. I wont do that again. If we go out of town I will stay POP. I dont want to feel like that again. I am back on track today and gonna stay there. Had a great weekend other than that though. Met Jade Rose, she turned a week on Saturday, she was so adorable. I didnt want to ever put her down. Now I know Chris and I have to get to the doctor and check out our fertility issues. Sandy-we really miss you, come back!!!!!! Have a great Monday everyone. |
AJ - how fun to see you again! Is that a picture from your friend's wedding? You look gorgeous!
Will post more later - just wanted to say a quick hello! |
Thank you!
Vicky- Thank you so much! So sweet. Allison- I am still so impressed with your 30ds victory. I think I made it through 10 days when I was 100% diet committed. I am glad you are feeling better today. Dance- It is the wedding. And I was back at my original starting weight so it is hard to look at the pics but I wanted to use a fat pic as my avatar so that I stay motivated! =) Thank you though. Okay girls.... I am not sure what plan I want to follow. I am not sure of anything actually. I AM SURE I can not live like this anymore. I am smoking again after years, I eat crap and feel like crap. I am actually fairly active but it does nothing when I eat taco bell and mcdonalds. I am starting slow today and shooting for 1600 calories and I will go back to 1300 tomorrow. It feels so awful to feel like you have wasted a year. |
aj - I need to get back in gear too - maybe we can get each other motivated! How's seattle?
Just got back from a run - am doing pretty well with exercising but haven't been strict on plan with food. burgundy - glad you had a fun weekend but sorry your tummy wasn't cooperating. maddiesmom - woohoo for outlet shopping - so fun - glad you were successful. Planning on a walk with a buddy later time permitting and more exercise tomorrow. Hope you all are doing well! |
AJ: Was there a trigger that caused the bad eating/smoking? Stress from moving again? Are you working up in Seattle? Start out slowly, I would recommend working on the eating portion first - start by taking away the fast food - you will feel so much better when you're filling your body with lots of good fruits/veggies. Now that you're in Seattle, I bet you can get a ton of fresh fish too. How are things otherwise?
Dance: How are you feeling / how's the knee? I'm guessing you're doing better if you are going exercising later. How was your Texas trip? Burgundy: I know how being around babies makes you want to have one. I've seen so many infants in the past few weeks (plus my friend had one back in March and another few are pregnant now), it really makes me want to have another. Hope you find out what is going on so you can have your little bundle. Sorry you're feeling icky too, it's amazing how horrible fast food can make you feel. I vow to never eat McDonalds again! Definitely not worth it! Well, I went and ARP'ed again today. The knee is still pretty bad. Got up to 7.5 on the dial. Two more treatments to go. I was in tears today because I was pushing myself to get through this and get better. Jeff saw me tearing up and got me some water and let me rest. I'm telling you, if I wasn't getting results, I would have given up by now due to the pain. I'm amazed I go back each time. I go back on Tues and Wednesday, then I start training with him again and using the ARP to build the muscles so I can get them stronger. We'll see what happens. For now, I'm pretty much giving up on running - right now it's totally not worth it. What was everyone else's plan today? Hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday. |
maddiesmom - there are so many other ways to get exercise - I totally agree that right now running just doesn't make sense for you. So very sorry you have injury pain and even more painful ARP to deal with - aren't you finding that the pain wears you out? I've been lucky with my knee lately - a few twinges today but not bad and I'll probably ice it later.
aj - how can we help? will you be my mileage buddy tomorrow? |
So along with my lowfat diet, I have decided today is the day to get back to walking. Gonna get the dogs ready and try for 2 miles right now. Keep your fingers crossed that we make it. I'll post more later.
|
AJ-30ds was killer. Thats the second time I did it all the way thru. I just kept thinking of Vicky working out in the high performance area of her gym. She kept me going along with Dance and all the words of encouragement. Im eating lowfat right now and it seems to be working except for the mishap over the weekend. Never again. Anything we can do to help you get back on track, let us know and we will do our best.
Dance-lets get ourselves back on plan and strict with food. I did good today. Had to get straightened out after the weekend. Vicky-thanks. I know when the time is right I will have a child, one way or another. Are you and Matt planning to have another one anytime soon? Running probably isnt the best for you right now, but there are so many other things you can do. Hope your pain gets better soon. Did 2 miles with the pups, it was getting dark on us so we had to hustle. Then I came home and did a little workout on the wii. Not as much of a workout as 30ds but at least I got up and got moving. |
Just got back from a 3 mile walk with my buddies so that's a good exercise day for me, combined with the run this morning.
burgundy - woohoo for being back in the mileage groove! Do you notice a difference in your body after 30ds? Haven't had dinner yet so I'm trying to figure out what I can eat that won't take long to put together. aj - how did the changes to your eating plan go today? |
Vicky- The smoking was a surgery to remove my gallbladder. I didn't handle that well. And I git cocky and didn't have a scale for 5 months. I didn't think I was really gaining until I over heard my dad say to my brothers "Look at her, all that work and now nothing to show for it." Now I am just sabotaging myself.
Allison- Really cute pics on your fb! Who is the baby? Dance- Great start with a mac n cheese ending to it. Its TOM, I am on fertility drugs that make me cry over EVERY THING! and my husbands family is coming to visit and I am so crazy with anxiety. Seattle is awesome. The food (OBVIOUSLY) is amazing. I live above the famous pikes market so fresh fruits, veggies and fish daily. I just can't eat 1 peach... I eat 5. I have never in my entire life felt so out of control. EVER!! I think I need something more strict than calorie counting. I just cheat. I am going to walk to work tomorrow. its a whole whopping 1 mile. Seems like nothing compared to what you are doing but for what ever reason I take the bus or make davey drive me. |
There are so many informations,I like this post.please continue.
|
Allison: Aw, thanks for the compliments! You definitely inspire me as much as I inspire you! To answer your questions, Matt and I are thinking of trying next year (mid to late 2011). We really want to focus on Madeline and make sure finances, etc. are in order. We want to move into a bigger house as well, but if that doesn't happen before the end of 2011, I'm still going to have a baby! I'm definitely getting baby fever.
Dance: I find that pain complely wears me out. The ARP makes my muscles contract 500 times a second, so it's working those muscles harder and faster than I could even think of doing. I'm literally sweating when I get out of the gym (not so good when I have to put a suit back on and go back to work!) I'm getting better, my sciatica is going away and my hip isn't as bad. I'm going to get some new workouts from Jeff and taking running completely out of my routine until he thinks I can do it again. It's going to take some strengthening to get my knees to where they need to be. Great job on the workouts!!! You are a mileage queen!! AJ: So sorry to hear about your surgery - I heard gallbladder can really do a number on your digestive system. How are you feeling these days? What can we do to help you get back into control? Walking a mile is a great start - it's better than taking a ride! As for the eating - start by eating the healthy stuff - 5 peaches is still better than a big mac and fries (for example). Baby steps is the way that worked best for me. Little changes here and there that will add up to pounds lost. You can do this! Dont' let others' comments (your dad's for example) derail your efforts. IF you lost it once, you can do it again! The fact that you came back shows that you are resilient. |
Dance-it feels so good to get back to walking and when I was walking I was losing. Not like now the scale doesnt want to go lower than 193. I really dont notice a big difference in my body. I am feeling bloated lately. TOM may be on the way.
AJ-the baby is Chris' cousins. We went to see her this past weekend and is absolutely adorable. Walking to work is a great start. You'll find your groove again and start losing. Vicky-Baby fever is spreading like wild fire, lol. I would love to get pregnant before my 30th birthday so I have 11 months. Havent gotten out for a walk today, probably gonna wait til about 8. Almost went to late last night at 845 so gonna get going earlier today. Wanna go out and jump on the trampoline but I need to clean it off. After raining it has some gunk on it. Want to get 2 miles in again today. We went to the river to swim this morning. Chris and our nephew Joel fished. They caught a few bass. It was a nice morning. Havent heard from the boys mom since before the weekend. Its been a nice little break. I am sure I will hear from her near Friday(payday). How is everyones week going? So I just tried doing Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones. Its 40 minutes. It says for your first time to do as much as you can and build up to doing it all. I didnt do it all. It was a bit much on my knees but I did what I could. It was still a good workout and I worked up quite a sweat. Still gonna get a walk in. Now time to make some dinner, what to make??? |
Hey, girls! I took today off to work on construction projects and I moved (with help from some guys) 1.5 tons of flagstone for an addition to my patio so that counts as my workout for today, phew! Am vegging for a bit before hitting the shower.
aj - what kind of job do you have? If you can get into the habit of walking there and back, I think that would be helpful with getting into a new groove. My sympathies on the fertility drugs - they made one of my buddies pretty emotional for a while - that's tough stuff and as far as I know, they don't make weight loss any easier. burgundy - what did you decide on dinner? I'm a bit stuck for ideas myself ;) Good for you on the miles - I bet that will get your ticker moving again. maddiesmom - You have really been through a lot with all the ARP but what a great thing you've done for your body, losing so much weight and getting your back sorted out. In no time, your knees will be stronger than ever and you'll be able to run around after your little one with no trouble. It's probably hard to even imagine a pain-free existence at the moment. Have you worn any of your new outlet clothes yet? Hope you all have a nice evening... |
Vicky- Thank you. Wait... you want another baby?
Allison- Do you listen to Jillians pod casts? I use to just love her and lately (maybe jealousy) I just can't stand her advice. I am still listening though. Dance- The drugs are so not good and I am not even sure I am really ready to be pregnant but that changes daily. I am a art director/web design coordinator with a company that builds sites for Dentists and Ortho Docs. Its... ehhh. I am trying to create good habits but it the home part I really struggle with. Cooking and prepping for work. I am having a good day. I will be at 600 calories by the time I go home from work and I even got a sugar free vanilla latte =) I really need to take the time at night to prep for the day. I have enough food and it is 11:20 here and I have 40oz of water down!! Good day. Can someone fill me in on who is still here? Also, where is every one weight wise? |
AJ: yep, I want to have another one - we're going to wait until next year to start trying, but I would have another one in a second! I agree, planning food for the next day is hard for me too. I try to go to the store and then I clean and prep all my produce so I can hurry and bag it for my lunch. I pretty much eat the same thing every day, but at least it's "Dummy proof" where I don't have to try and figure out what to prepare.
Weight wise - I made it to Onderland on 4th of July weekend - first time in more than 10 years I think. It's crazy to think! I'm at 78 pounds lost. Still doing the calorie counting (sort of - I basically eat all fruits, veggies and lean protein) and then I work out with Jeff still. Before I hurt my knee, I was working out with him 3-4 times/week. Dance: Your yard work sounds like a hefty workout to me!! Any plans for mileage today? I did wear my new clothes yesterday, and I have to say, I feel better than I have in a long time. I know I'm getting there, just takes time. I'll take pictures this weekend with me in the new dress (still can't believe I'm going to wear one) and post them on FB. So yesterday, I went and ARP'ed and I reached 10!!! Still can't believe it. My knee doesn't hurt as much as it used to and my hip pain is almost completely gone - it's getting there. I went and strengthened with the ARP today, so next week I can begin training again with Jeff. Very excited that I won't be getting zapped on a daily basis. Food has been good - I'm really trying to stick to plan. I have about 3-4 weeks before I have to start shopping for a dress for my SIL's wedding, so I'm hoping for a 12, but if it doesn't happen, I'm happy that I'm a 14 - that is 5 sizes down from where I was, so I can't complain. How is everyone else doing? |
aj - your job sounds interesting - good for you for getting something creative! What do your meal plans look like these days? Are you still shooting for protein for breakfast? Low-carb? Bringing lunch to work is hard for me (too lazy, I guess) and I only have a few options I'm comfortable with as far as restaurants (Subway, Panera's, Whole Foods) where I won't be tempted by fast food or other bad choices. What are you bringing for lunch these days?
As far as weight, I haven't made any real progress in quite a while but I'm looking at it as maintenance practice and I seem to have lost some more inches from running as my clothes are looser than they used to be. I don't calorie count except for sort of in my head and clearly that's what I need to do to get things going again. Too many treats, *sigh*. As far as still here - Maddiesmom, Burgundy and I are the always crowd. Mygrits was posting all the time for a while but in the last few weeks, I think she's been caught up with other stuff (her online business and her daughter is looking at getting divorced). We haven't heard from Neesy in ages but on FB I saw that she wasn't planning on moving to Korea anymore so hope she's doing well. What do you hear from Lindy? She looks gorgeous in the pix I've seen on FB. I'm walking with a buddy after work tonight so it'll be a 3-mile day for me - anyone else up for mileage? Food is fine so far - B: strawberries and yogurt, L: tuna sandwich, veggies. Not sure what dinner will be yet. |
Vicky---- OMG ONEDERLAND! How exciting. What do you like most about yourself 78lbs lighter?
Dance- What do you eat at panara? I brought a homemade yourt parfait with blueberries, a banana, a large salad for lunch a grapefruit for snack and to fish my sugar cravings! I still would love to do protein breakfast but I am so lazy in the AM |
Well, I've been lurking the last few days, I read back all of ya'lls posts and was soooooo proud of how great you ALL have been doing. I just didn't want to post because I don't want to be a fair-weather friend. I don't just want to be here when I am on plan. But, dancer sent me a PM (are you stalking me ;-) ) saying to come say hi, so here I am saying hi. If you will accept my conditional friendship, I will come as often as I can. That really sounds brutal, but I can't help that I can't come here and say that I'm not on plan, so I want to be honest.
So, I know everything that has went on with you guys for the last 6 months, so I won't ask for an update. In case anyone wants to know, I have actually been doing decent on my weight loss. I am down 94 lbs and counting. I'm not sure where I was at last time I posted on here. I also finally got the promotion at work that I have been wanting for over a year. My husband finally got a job with advancement possiblilities. We just had our one year anniversary and went to Savannah for a weekend getaway (didn't gain any weight amazingly). We are also on Dave Ramsey's debt snowball plan and are on track to be completely debt free in less than two years (except the mortgage). Life is amazing, just need to get the rest of this weight off. I think I finally have accepted the fact that I cannot lose quickly and will probably at this for another two years. Dance, thanks for remembering me and inviting me back. Vicky, glad your knees are getting better. You are doing awesome and wish I could have the continuous dedication you have. Allison, you are my hero! 30 day shred x 2!!! I couldn't even make it 2 days!?! AJ, glad to see you came back too! |
AJ: What do I like most about being 78 pounds lighter? The clothes options!! LOL Buying the smaller clothes has been nice, but I still need to work on the self confidence. It's hard being the "fat person" for so long and then have to change your mindset.
Dance: 3 miles - I think I may start walking with you guys. There's nothing wrong with walking! I am giving up the running for an indefinite amount of time, but I could definitely benefit from walking. Yep, just the core 3 of use: Burgundy, Dance and me. Staccie had mentioned that she was getting a trainer/nutritionist, but it seems that her life has taken a busy turn so we haven't heard from her in awhile either. Not sure why Neesy isn't going to Korea, but I guess she's living in Florida now and found a job. As for Panera - they have an awsome chicken poppyseed salad that is basically fruit on top of salad greens with chicken and lowfat poppyseed dressing. Super low fat and calories and it's really good too. I try not to eat out too much, I get myself into trouble. Food today was good: B: Oatmeal S: grapes L: roasted turkey breast with broccoli and carrots S: Nectarine, energy bar (suggested by Jeff, so it's 100% natural) D: grilled chicken with veggies ARP is done!!!!!!!! Yippee! Got to do my strengthening session today which hurt just as much as the treatment! Yikes! I go back to trianing next week and we may bring the ARP in from time to time if Jeff thinks I need it. Basically I will do whatever it takes not to get injured again. Hope everyone is having a fabulous day! |
Tiff: So glad to hear from you! 94 pounds lost is AMAZING!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Sounds like life is working out for you - as it should. Great news all around with your promotion and the hubby's job and all....how is the house renovation going? Did I read that you were back in school as well? Stop by when you can - we do miss you and wish you all the luck in the world. Trust me, I wish this weight would come off faster, but I know it will be a long journey, but we'll both get there. |
Dance-thats a lot of flagstone to move, bet that was a good workout. Dinner, last night I made 12 grain pancakes with SF syrup. Tonight Chris made us grilled chicken and a nice salad. It was yummy.
AJ-I've never listened to her pod casts. As much as I love her workouts she does annoy me quite a bit. I tried watching her new show but just couldnt get into it. Waiting on Biggest Loser to come back. How many calories are you eating a day?? I trying to do lowfat. I still kinda guesstimate calories. My weight is staying around 193 right now. I am fighting to get to the 180s. Love the snail on your ticker, thats what I need cos this weight is ssssssssssoooooo slow. Vicky-so happy for you that you are almost done with ARPing and can get back to training. Do you miss it? Funny, I would have never thought when I was bigger that I would actually start to enjoy working out. Cant wait to see you in your dress. Tiff-post whenever you feel like it, we will be here. 94 lbs is absolutely amazing. Remember, slow and steady wins the race. We will all get to our goals. It may take a while, but we'll get there. SO glad life is treating you so well. 30ds, yea I have done it twice but there were months in between the 2 times. It took all I had to finish out the 30 days, it does get boring. So I spoke too soon yesterday when I said I hadnt heard from the boys mom lately. I had them today plus 2 other boys. That was fun(3,5, 6, and 8 yr olds), a few squabbles here and there but a pretty good day with them. I got a 2 mile walk in and did 2 sets of 50 crunches on the ab lounge. I am gonna work on the bingo arms before bed. Tomorrow I want to walk 2 miles and do a kettlebell workout. We are gonna go see The Other Guys tomorrow. Will Ferrell is hilarious. I'll have to have a healthy filling dinner before we go. |
Howdy girls! Just got back from a walk with my buddy - I didn't really feel like it but once I got going it was fine as usual.
So fun to see all the activity on this thread! tifftiff - great to hear from you! And yes, I'm pretty stalker-ish ;) You've made tons of progress since we last heard from you and I'm just so impressed that you're almost at the 100lbs lost mark - that is seriously amazing! Glad things are going well for you and your hubby. Don't worry about posting or not posting - we're happy to see you whenever. For me, this is the only place I feel comfortable being completely honest - about my weight, my clothing size, my comfort eating, my slipups and wanderings off plan and extremely SLOOOOOW progress in this whole weight loss thing and it's kind of liberating to have buddies who understand and don't judge. Oh - and how was your friend's wedding this winter? Do you have pics? burgundy - good job on the miles! Your dinner sounds good - I tried a lean cuisine but it just wasn't very good. Back to normal (unprocessed) stuff tomorrow. Let us know how the movie is - I need some recommendations... maddiesmom - congrats on being done with ARP! Your menu for today looked especially good - I need to roast a turkey breast for variety. Hope everyone is having a nice evening... |
Vicky- I was talking with this old friend of mine 2 days ago. When we weighed in my 120's and her prob 110, we thought we were so fat. Not like a teenager kind of thinking fat but I would not wear a shirt that clung to me and I would not buy small pants because I was sure it showed to much. Now I look at pics and we look sick! Its hard to see your self as thin after being bigger. I had only lost like 40lbs and it didn't feel like a lb.
Allison- I am not sure what it is that bugs me, her voice maybe? Great job on the workout and the other guys has gotten RAVE reviews. I want to see eat, pray, love!! Okay food day. I did something really bad... I had only had like 550 cals by the time I got off work. I had enough cals left to have this thin crust healthy pizza place. I ate 3/4 mini pizza. Calories... yes.... healthy... NO! But I drank 96oz of water today. WHOOOOOOOhoooooo! |
Congrats Maddiesmom on finishing ARP! Hopefully the pain in your knee will be gone now? :)
Hi AJ and Tiff! Nice to meet you! :) Dancer - I need to start walking again. A couple of years ago I did 2 or 3h a day for 2 weeks (I was in training for a walking holiday with friends) and I dropped about 6 pounds in that time without changing a thing on my diet! So definitely need to think about that one again... Sorry I've been kinda absent this week. I have been reading what you guys have been up to, but haven't really had a lot of time to post myself! I started doing my pilates dvd again this week, which I havent done for ages. My sister and I had fun trying to do all the moves! Must have worked cos my butt and abs were killing the next day! :) |
Hey girls!
No exercise for me so far today but I'll try to make up for it tomorrow. katylil - so many people rave about pilates - sounds like great exercise - good for you! How's everyone doing today? |
Happy Friday, all!
maddiesmom - I bet you're enjoying life with no ARP! How does everything feel now that the treatments are over? This weekend isn't looking like it's going to be superfun for me - electrician and tile guys tomorrow and tile guys again on Sunday so I'll be pretty home bound. I'm going to try to use the time to catch up on work. We'll see how that goes! What's everyone up to this weekend? |
Dance-I have laid off the lean cuisines too. I was eating them quite a bit there for a while. The Other Guys was pretty funny. Fun filled weekend for you. We dont have any fun plans this weekend. Gonna go see the baby this afternoon, they are up here at their house til their daughter goes back to school.
AJ-how are you getting all that water in. I need to up mine. Im just not a thirsty person, lol. Katy-I have a pilates dvd, but never use it. Might have to pull it out. I prepped a bunch of food to put on the grill to heat up for the weekend and beginning of the week. I have fingerling potatoes with onions and bell pepper, green beans(in the crock pot), carrots, squash and zucchini, cut up some cucumbers and made some peach salsa. Chris wants BBQ ribs for dinner on the grill. I will load up on veggies and have a small rib. Might see what other lean meat I have in the freezer and throw that on there too. We have our nephews here for a few hours. They are playing video games. I always have someones kids. Have a great weekend everyone. |
