Quick check in. I will try to catch up with everyone later.

Yesterday was going good. Picked up one of the boys from his grandmas at 830am. Went to the grocery store and ran a few other errands. Took him back to his house. We were just laying there watching cartoons and all of a sudden the worst pain I have ever felt hit me on my right side(back, hip, stomach, leg) So madde plans for my husband to come pick me up and for grandpa to pick up the boy. Went straight to the ER to find out I have kidney stones. AWFUL. If you havent had them, I hope you never do. I have never felt pain like this. It is excrutiating. After a CAT scan and xrays Dr said it is only a millimeter and will pass on its own. Got a scrip for vicodin, gonna go pick that up now.

For the weigh in, I was back at 204 yesterday. Then today I was at 206. I am guessing it is from the IV and having to drink so much. I am gonna stay away from the scale until this is over. Also I read that drinking too much grapefruit juice can contribute to stones. So I guess I wont be doing the GF diet for a while. This sucks, I was hoping to do it and get to 199. Oh well, back to counting calories I guess.

Hope everyone is having a better day than me. I will catch up with you all later.

Tiff- I bet your blood sugar is so low on that cleanse! I bet your body would have killed for that sugar. Also some weeks I like candy and the next... don't want it even if it is there. Maybe you had enough at halloween for a while and now you need to "restock" lol.

mygritsconfessions 11-16-2009 10:01 AM

Popcorn & AJ what do you put on a car battery to eat away and remove the crap built up around the cables? Soda. LOL........Just think what it does to your body.......LOL. Thought this might help you not want one. It helps me.

TIFF NO NO NO NO 'SLAP' 'SLAP' NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have worked so hard the last two weeks, and my gosh the workouts and bike rides. DON"T sabotage your efforts! Don't sabotage YOU! Stop it!!!

mygritsconfessions 11-16-2009 10:10 AM

Ok, I will write more now. I wanted to get my 'shout out' to Tiff fast. LOL

Dance thank you for the compliment. I am just eating foods that keep my sugar levels balance and hormones. Lately I am hooked on oatmeal with fruit for breakfast (mixed in), Jasmine Rice with a small tad of butter, s & p for taste for lunch. During the after I may have a Tangerine and later some dark chocolate to curb my sweet tooth. Dinner I am majorly hooked on an Ezekial wrap with all types of veggie stuff in there (like a salad) with some grated cheese and 2 Tbs of Ken's Steakhouse Vidalia Onion Salad Dressing. If I want something before 8pm I have a yogurt with some almonds thrown in. Thats my day and the calories run about 1200 to 1400.

Burgund that does suck. I am sooo sorry. My husband has had them twice the last 5 years and was literally on the floor in pain, rush to ER and given the drip and pain killers. It is awefull and I hope you pass it soon. I am so sorry.

Well, I am workout out today - before work, to kick this weeks weightloss in. I have to get to 208 this week. Thats my goal.

Hey where's Lindy?????????? Hmmmm must be alot of dates! ;-)

luckylindy 11-16-2009 10:35 AM

Hey girls-ok, Im sorry but I was so darn frustrated with 3FC last week that I gave up after Thursday and I am not rewinding to read 5 pages, lol. So, if I sound reduncdent in asking questions about the stated obvious moving forward with your posts - Im sorry!

Today at work we are having a nurtritionist come in and give us A LOT of great information, this is from 1130-1230, shes going to touch on diff. weight loss programs, balancing your metabolism and insulin levels and trigger foods, so I look forward to sharing all that information with you guys.

This really is a self obsessed "I" post since I dont feel like rewinding, lol. So, my weekend in a snap shot was a blast. I went out for drinks Sat. night with my cousin and had a blast. Sunday was recoup, lol. Im back at 165 again-Ill take it at this point. SKipped the gym but got 2 miles in this morning and plan on doing another 2 tonight. I guess thats it for now, I have a ton of stuff to do, Ill ttyl. :)

TiffTiff1985 11-16-2009 10:52 AM

haha sandy. thanks for the laugh. I truly think I am good now. I think it just needed to get some calories in my body.

I had some peanut butter and crackers for 250 cals
grits for 200 cals
and 5 snack size snickers and 3 packages of smarties for god knows how many calories...i just need to be really careful the rest of the day.

thanks for the quick intervention guys. coming here and writing about it really helped me to put the brakes on. I am NOT going to sabatoge last weeks efforts in one stinking day. I still wish someone would do something with that candy though. there is so much of it that it will probably be in there for days. I even had to hide my trash can under my desk so that anyone who comes in my office can't see the proof of my morning binge. you guys are great but I wish I had someone at work to run to when I am having a morning like that. all of my friends here are skinny skinny skinny and don't have to deal with weight issues. except one but I just don't feel comfortable bringing up weight issues.

where the heck is lindy? she usually posts by now on weekdays! I hope everything is ok!

Brown Eyed Staccie 11-16-2009 01:15 PM

Hi ladies....

Well I'm at home today...not feeling too well. I'm suffering some nasty withdrawal symptoms from my medication...as I'm being weaned off it. Been trying for about a month now and finally I am off the doses all together. It's going to be a tough week but I have to get off it. The weight gain, skin problems and mania type issues it has been causing is not worth it. I haven't talked a lot about it and don't want to but I can push through it. The withdrawl symptoms are nauseau, dizziness, vertigo type feelings and god knows what else. Oh great.

Anyway, on to other things....

Burgandy, I've had kidney stones and it is horrible, they say it's worse than childbirth...if I can say - and I hope it's ok, you are maybe better off getting to your next goal, the natural way - (i.e. eating healthy, good food as opposed to a trick diet - that's what I call those things that make you drop weight quick). You will get there...and probably maintain it longer by doing it the aka natural way - eating healthy and exercising. That way when you get to 199, you know that you did it the way that you are going to get and stay healthy for the rest of your life? Just a thought :)

Tiff - maybe by depriving yourself of real food and nutrients - it lead to the mini candy binge? It's so hard when it's at work or in a place that you can't control it in...story of our life heh? Good luck getting through today!

AJ - how is it going today so far....soda - oh yeah I love that stuff. I rarely drink the real stuff anymore and I did quit coke zero for awhile and quitting again as of yesterday - what I find is that it is inducing other cravings - like salt and sweets. Plus, it wreaks havoc on your body. So off coke zero and my medication this week is going to = good times for me :( I hope today is a successful day for you - are you easing back into it or going cold turkey?

Sandy - you will get to 208 this week, you are doing so awesome and your meals sound fantastic!!!

Well I am going to get ready to try and work out a bit - I don't know how well I will do today but it will take my mind off how I am feeling...sorry I didn't share this with you guys earlier, I guess I just needed time. Wish me luck....

luckylindy 11-16-2009 01:48 PM

Tiff- Im here! Thanks for your concern! I just got frustrated from the website and took a break, Im back now. So, what I did hear from AJ (we talk on yahoo), is that you lost a lot of weight last week, 9 pounds...is that right? WOW---CONGRATULATIONS, thats awesome. When I did the cleanse, I lost a lot in a short amount of time but I also gained 5 pounds back. Thats the hardest part, is getting back to normal food, but you are doing awesome with your exercise routine, good for you girl! And its also soooo nice to see you more active on here. I knew you would be back when you were ready. Sometimes we just need a break.

Stacie- big hug on weaning yourself off the meds. If you need to talk, send me a PM. What form of exercise are you going to do today, some yoga or a more high intensity work out?

Ok, so I had a GREAT seminar at work. A lot of it is stating the obvious but still good refresher course. I also learned that I should really be consuming 2,000 calorie a day at minimum, which I dont really understand(still) because 3500 makes you gain a pound, so how the **** am I supposed to lose at that much, but she said considering my exercise level, plus we burn about 1200 calorie a day at rest, that really is reasonable. Oh well. Nothing else to report on, this day is just flying by.

burgundyrayne 11-16-2009 01:56 PM

ok time to catch up, I'm 3 pages behind.

Maddiesmom-you are kicking butt, 126 situps in 2 minutes is amazing. So proud of you girl. Yay for the 16s. I am still in my 16s. They are getting big but some 14s are still a little snug. Its so fun to move down sizes.

Pammy-I havent done 30ds in a while. Want to bring it back out soon. You got a good workout in splitting logs. Your avatar and the pic you posted look wonderful, you look amazing. And I agree with everyone, you do not look like a 14, you look much smaller. Have fun on your bike ride.

Mygrits-If you are at 210 you will make it to 208 this week, 6 lbs to catch me, you can do it.

Popcorn-way to go putting half your meal in a box right away. I need to start doing that more. 4 lbs down....WOOHOO

Tiff-you are doing great, 9 lbs, outstanding. You are gonna be back to your before ticker weight in no time. 13.5 miles is a long way, I'm impressed.

Simple-you are doing such a good job, 1.5 lbs!!!! I hope to be able to run 11 miles someday. I am still in the walking with spurts of running stage.

Staccie-yay for being down 2.5 lbs, looks like this trainer has you motivated. Hope you feel better soon and can get off your meds. You are on a roll with 3 hours in the gym. I wish I had a treadmill at home to walk while I watch biggest loser. I do turn on the wii and do free step sometimes while I watch. I am going back to counting calories after I pass this thing. Thats for the advice.

Dance-I bet you are glad your bf is out of his funk. Walking in the snow is not easy but a great workout. Still havent touched those cookies

Aj-how is today going? Lindy helping you out? Oh nice comfy sheets, pillows and blankets are so nice.

Neesy-hope that hangover headache goes away. Congrats on the loss.

dancerindenver 11-16-2009 02:08 PM

Howdy, girls! Quick midday checkin...

Burgundy - so sorry about the kidney stones - what a major bummer! Poor you! What calorie level are you eating at these days? If you're still having plateau challenges, you might want to do a little calorie cycling and mix it up a bit - that seemed to help me in an earlier plateau. The plateau I'm in right now is totally of my own doing and is because I'm eating at maintenance levels. Am going to work on that this week and get back in the GROOVE!

lindy - glad to have you back! Sounds like you had a good weekend :)

staccie - <<<<<hugs>>>>> for what you're dealing with - that's tough stuff. Come vent or whatever any time you need to. Hang in there and we'll be sending you waves of positive reinforcement for staying in control and avoiding the dreaded binge. Maybe a homespa afternoon is in order? Bubble bath, deep conditioning treatment, loofah, etc?

tifftiff - glad you turned things around! Are those candies there all year or only around halloween? Hope it's just temporary! There's a bowl on our receptionist's desk all year and I get to my desk by going in the back way just to avoid them :)

So, I'm thinking about remodeling my kitchen and I don't think I'm going to let myself do it until I fit into size 10s (right now I'm in 12s). I know the kitchen stuff has nothing to do with weight loss - it's just yet another little game I'm playing with myself to get going. Ahh, the things we do! Hope you're all doing well...

ajowens 11-16-2009 02:16 PM

Ummmm.... STACIE- You really shouldn't work out with vertigo! Thats a terrible idea. Your going to end up upside down on the treadmill. I really need to quit taking meds too. Just my vites. Watching any good shows while resting today??

Rayne-Thank you. I am okay. Hungry =)

I am going to the mall with my hubby to eat. He will eat chipotle and I am going to this Salad a la cart place. I am going to do protein shake so that I don't have to get meat. I don't like cold meat. I don't always like hot meat. lol. But I am really wanting like pears and cranberries or some kind of fruit in my salad so I will still be racking up the cals. I am going to go walk today too. I am hoping to milk the salad through the afternoon.

<3

Brown Eyed Staccie 11-16-2009 04:09 PM

Rayne - do you have to use the little catcher so they can test the stone and see where it came from? I never caught mine, the little bugger...hugs.

I'm going to be ok...I just need to try and push through this - safely. I always push myself too hard, so sitting at home is just not making me happy. But I don't want to drown in the pool or fall on the treadmill. So I'm watching the last 10 pounds bootcamp right now. This could last for a week...I better find a way to deal with it because I can't take a week off work!! F!!

AJ - hope you made good choices at the mall - I know you can do it!

Dance - I think that sounds like a great idea - a reward like that provides a lot of added incentive!!! I might go and sit in the sauna for awhile actually.

Lindy - I know what you mean, it's so confusing about calorie intake, I hear such different things...I joined Jillian Michaels site - mostly for the exercise database and it said I should be eating 1200-1400 to lose weight and I am pretty active...but I think that is not enough. I would hate to do that and then plateau at low calories...I think I am just going for the old fashioned way.

When I get better, I'm going snowshoeing! I live about 45 min from the mountains where there is tons of snow. Vancouver is awesome for that, ocean, green grass but snow just 45 min away. You can sail, golf and ski in the same day (well that is kind of unlikely someone could do all that but it's the thought that counts).

Ok, so I was thinking of something to really be positive about while I am being weaned off this medication...I have this big party to go to on December 17th which is 30 days away. It will be the last big party that I go to here in Vancouver really until the Olympics are over.

I have a lot of really cute clothes in my closet that I could wear but I think I am going to buy and really cute top that is too small and use that as an incentive to get into. I can't go that today - because I am not feeling well, but I will this weekend. I will take a picture in it and then a picture when I go out.

Anyway I am just babbling now....hope everyone is having a great day!

S

dancerindenver 11-16-2009 04:15 PM

staccie - great plan on getting the too-small top and using it as a motivator! You will be even more gorgeous than usual at that party! I just ordered the size 10 suit pants that I'm going to use to determine when I can get started with the kitchen remodel - such silliness but whatever works, right? Hope you're drinking lots of water to help flush everything out of your system and keep you from getting dizzy. Hang in there, kiddo!

PammyFl 11-16-2009 06:05 PM

Aj- I would love that eggnog recipe. Maybe I wont screw it up like the last one haha :)
Dancer- Yeah im a little bit worried of Chicago's winter. Its BRUTAL. I have only been to Chicago in the cold twice and I was DYING haha. I would love to get some cute "winter" clothes.
Burgundy- Thanks It was a total workout! I am almost done with the 30DS and worried about what todo next haha :/

I dont have much time today I have been running around crazy cleaning and barely got anything done. I didnt even get my daily walk in this morning :( Hope everyones having a better day than me. Ill try to catch up a little later

alyssamichelle 11-16-2009 09:48 PM

Okay, so you all are major posters! Wow! I don't know if I can really keep up, but I'm gonna try. Just so you all know, I'm in school full time and go to work full time and have two small children at home. My goodness! It makes me tired just thinking about it. So, my goal is to check in every couple of days. You guys keep me motivated!

Popcorn....I LOVE fountain soda, but I've switched to diet every once in awhile (like, maybe once a week) for a treat. Even though it doesn't have any calories in the diet pepsi, I still don't want to go overboard. Everything in moderation!

AJ...I hope you are doing okay! How was your day?

Everyone else....I just can't keep up...plus the kiddos are running around making lots and lots of noise. I'll try harder next time! lol

I just did 25 minutes of yoga and 45 minute 3-mile walk. I feel great!!!

Oh and I have to add that I got to add my signature today! I could've added it yesterday but I was swamped with a homework project (HUGE, but glad it's over). So, that means that I've been working out for at least three weeks! I'm in my fourth week and still going strong! I waivered during TOM, but got right back on after a day and a half bleh. lol

So, I'm wanting to lift weights but I don't have any and can't afford any right now. Can you think of household things that I can use in lieu of weights? I'm so ready for it! I LOVE lifting weights!
