July Weight Loss Challenege

Hello,
I am new here and REALLY love the idea of an all commmunity support challenge!!! I stumbled upon this weight loss community and thought it was soooo cool to have all of this support and how everyone came together for each other!!! Just what everyone with a challenge needs!!!Sooo here is my July Challenges...
My goal this month is to lose 5 pounds, start walking EVERYDAY, and to drink more water because i have been seeing a dietician and my hydration levels are not where they should be at all.
I have alot more goals but i don't want to overwelm myself.:D

Couch 07-02-2009 03:09 AM

I'm back for July:D I did consider not joining, as I don't generally do well with timed goals, but it went well last month, so I'll give it another shot.

I'm aiming for 96.5kg (212.3lb) this month, which is down 3.3kg (7.3lb) from the 1st. It's not a crazy high goal for the month, but I picked it because it's half way! Which is exciting, even though the ten year old sitting in the backseat of my brain whining "are we there yet" is peeved. Most of the time I know that this is a life long change, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to be thin NOW.

Lewisempire 07-02-2009 06:21 AM

Wow- I beat Delphi this morning!!!! Deeeelllllphhhiiii where are you?????? LOL
I am up and on my way out the door to work. Oh JOY! Will chat when I get home. I was POP yesterday, even with dominos pizza at my friends house. I took a huge bowl of watermelon, and ate only 2 slices of pizza YAY! Had all my water yesterday, and then some. So today I am down to 204.5, hopefully it will stick!!!!!!! Today, I will POP. You all have a great day!

Delphi 07-02-2009 06:23 AM

Good Morning Ladies!

Couch ~ Welcome back!

momof2 ~ Welcome aboard. Those goals sound great.

peachy ~ Way to go on getting that workout in.

mystical ~ The accountability factor has really helped me with my weight loss. ;)

justadream ~ Yup, there is plenty of energy and support here. Welcome!

Stephanie ~ I had a great day thank you. No worries about the water, just try to get more water in tomorrow. ;)

Moralia ~ Good job :carrot:

ruby ~ I tell people all the time the secret to my success are these challenge threads. There is no way I would have come so far, so fast without the support, encouragement and accountability. Plus these ladies are just so darn awesome. Good for you for popping that video in. Eventually, that will become a habit, it has for me. When I get stressed or something, I exercise and I feel loads better than I ever did stuffing my face with food.

skinnyjeans ~ Well that is encouraging for you. You know what you have to do and that YOU CAN DO IT. :) I don't think it's about balance at all. For me, it was about implementing changes that not only affect me but my children as well. I was gettting up at 3:45am every morning just so I could exercise before the kids woke up and so what I was doing didn't interfere, but it does these days, but my kids are the ones pushing me and don't mind one bit, I love the success. When you take time to focus on yourself, everyone around you notices and benefits from it as well.

candtlove ~ :welcome:

LTTG ~ Ouch. I agree with jacqui, that weight is probably just water retention. You keep doing and the weight will come off even if ol' Darth Scale doesn't translate it.

blondie ~ Well I'm glad you liked that first day at work but yeah it does suck having to take all that stuff off. Look at it this way, at least you don't get strip searched like everyone else coming into the prison. ;) Anyways here's to an even better day at work tomorrow. :)

Glutio ~ Pharmanex is the company that I get my vitamins from and where my friend bought my gowearfit. The model I have looks identical to the bodybugg, but it is only marketed by Pharmanex with "their" weight loss plan. So my subscription is with them, but I really love the interface and never have any issues with them. Customer service issues are taken care of via a phone call and VERY quickly. Hey and you are more than welcome to join us on the cleaning..more the merrier..*runs off to find bleach* ;)

Cami ~ No worries, my girl gekster explained it. but if you have any more questions, ask way dear and have yourself a great day.

joyra ~ :bravo: on that two pound loss. That's awesome.

LE ~ Yeah, menu's are no help to me. I don't cook. I can't cook and I have no desire to cook. I just despise it and have no clue why. But I'm glad you found something that works for you.

Lene ~ Baby, I'm as twisted as they come, but my sarcasm and humor offset all the weirdness I do believe. Are you still taking those vitamins?

OH MY WORD ladies, that's a whole heap of personals. I stayed up late, which for me was 10, watching LOST again. Which again, to reiterate, is awesome. ;) Amazingly, I feel alright this morning and I'm not dragging so that's a good thing. I do have to get out for a bit this morning to run errands, which I'm looking forward to.

I'm down just a hair from yesterday which is a shocker as I did ST yesterday, so I was all like YAAAAAAAA! This morning. I wish TOM would come on. I'm just three away and I tell ya'll what. I don't care if it's 199.9...I'll take that as onederland...

Anyways, I have to get my butt moving, you ladies have an exceptional day. Not just any day, but a great day, an awesome day, a bow chicka wow wow day and enjoy it!

Delphi 07-02-2009 06:24 AM

LE ~  I've been here since five..so it took me about thirty minutes to write my post. But I was here ..hahaha! You have yourself a great day as well.

susiemartin 07-02-2009 08:01 AM

Morning ladies
Hope everyone has a wonderful OP day.

It's raining here this morning & I'm struggling to get my butt outdoors for my daily walk.
This morning is where commitment kicks in - instead of motivation:)
Now.....where's my shoes..........

Delphi 07-02-2009 08:20 AM

Susie ~ Morning darling and yeah, I think I see your shoes..right there. ;)

Well just finished ye ol' treadmill workout and feeling all "rocky" and stuff. Now it's time to go outside w/cam and wait on the camp bus and do some more walking. I'll check back with you cool cats later. :)

Today is WI. I am not supposed to be exercising today but I am thinking about going to the Y and walking for thirty minutes at a very slow pace. it shouldn't hinder me ....i don't think. But i would be able to weigh myself at least/ I am sorry to keep talking about this race but I am so scared of messing up. I am so supposed to resting but is walking slowly really not resting....IDk

Delphi - WOW what an early riser. WTG on being down. and BTW 199.9 IS onederland!!! You better believe that 169.9 is the 160's for me:D. I hope to make it there tonight

Couch and Mamaof2 - Glad you joined. The more the merrier!

Lewisempire - WTG on POP.

Peachykeen - That was a great choice. Pizza is a hard thing for me.

Mystical - Every little bit counts. You got in your cardio and strength training.

Jacqui and FSA and everyone else I didn't say- Hey ladies!

Sandye, Delphi and Glutio - I love this "battle of the cleanliness" ya'll have going. Unfortunately I only get to do thorough cleaning on the weekends due to work and the gym. I just love how it all looks when after finish scrubbing and sweating. i tackled the kitchen and LR and DR last saturday. I am off till monday so I hope to do all the bathrooms (well that will be first) and then the bedrooms. Ya'll inspire me. I love a clean home.

iDream 07-02-2009 09:02 AM

Good Morning Chickies!!! Oh my word have you been chatty! I knew I should have checked in last night!!!

Lewis
~ sorry to hear about the gain, but by the sounds of things--it's totally water! You set some great goals for this month!! :)

Gekster~ oh I hear ya on sleeping in! I find that if I'm not up early (not Delphi early, but early ;)), I have much less motivation to get my workout in. Hope your workout went well!

Tracy~ :welcome: Make yourself comfy and jump right in! :)

Jess~ Happy July to you too and good luck to you as well! :)

SteelersGirlie (SG)~ :welcome: to you as well! Good luck on your goals this month! I'm veggie challenged myself, so your goals are much like mine. :)

Susie~ sorry to hear you're not feeling like yourself lately, it's never fun to be in a funk. :( I have faith that you'll pull through like a champ though! Keep your chin up and come here any time you need a lift k? :) I'm an emotional eater as well and have eaten my way through a lot of stress! It's a tough thing to break, but it can be done! Just remember not to be too hard on yourself if you slip, we're all human. :)

Jacqui~ AHA! I just knew you'd start off the month with a loss! Woo hoo! Yeah baby!! I'm so proud of you! Thank you so much for the lunch suggestions! I'm so lame when it comes to figuring out healthy lunches! What on earth is so hard about it anyway? I dunno, but I know that'll be one of my August Goals for sure!! ;)

Delphi~ you did far better than I yesterday! I managed to tidy up the house and go to the store, packed my toiletries for the trip and a big bag full of snacks/dry goods for the kiddos. After that, I ran out of gas. I don't know if it's PMS or what, but I have been tiiiiiiiired and grumpy the last few days. Thanks for the snack suggestions! It's going to be a 2 day drive (14 hrs) with having to stop often and take potty breaks, so at this point I'm just hoping we make it to TX with our sanity! We're about 3 hrs from Holiday World, give or take. I've never been there, but I've heard it's fun! :) Lost is an awesome show isn't it? I lurve it! I missed the finale last season due to that black out we had, so I'm anxious for next season to start so I know how last season ended! I'm with ya on non-cooperative body parts! For me, it's my lower body. My butt and thighs are still so soft and jiggly--blech! But, one step at a time, they'll firm up eventually--I just gotta work for it!

Cake~ ahh, great idea about the smoothies! Yeah, we'll be bringing a cooler so that just might work. I hear ya about Subway, it's my meal of choice if I have to eat out while doing errands and such. Hubby, thankfully, likes Subway too so I don't have to compromise my eating plan! :)

FSA~ I am bringing my weights! :D Hubby thought I was officially nuts when I announced that! At the time we were planning on packing all of our luggage and stuff in the back of our van and there's not very much room back there. He was complaining that it would add extra weight, blah, blah, blah and I said, 'Are you kidding me? 32 extra pounds is not going to weigh us down--heck, I've lost over 32 lbs, how about we consider it a wash?" ;) We eventually got the roof rack bars for our van, so now we can stow stuff on top of the van and not worry so much about lack of room. :D Silly man, did he really think I was going to not bring my weights? Hahaha! Thanks for the snack suggestions too! I think I'm properly armed with good eating choices!

SkinnyJeansInWaiting (SJIW)~ :welcome: There's always room for more! :)

Moralia~ :welcome: to you as well! Love your positive attitude!! :)

Glutio~ congrats on the loss girlie!!! Sorry to hear about the tough decision regarding your kitty. :( I'm sure he'll be happy with his new family though and at least you know he'll be loved. :) Listen, if you're still fired up to do some cleaning after you move--I'll give you directions to my place! :D I could always use a really good power cleaning! ;) Seriously though, hun, I hate the whole packing/cleaning routine that goes with moving! Yuck!

Lene~ hahaha, nice try, but tattling on me won't work! I nag her to drink her water too! Now drop and gimme 20!!!:drill: (ounces of water that is!) How ya doin' on the HIIT? Week 5 is kickin' my heiny! But, on a positive note, Week 4 seems easy peasy in comparison now so I know I'm making some progress. ;) I've got soil to move too and I don't wanna! I moved 7 wheelbarrows full the other day and the rest of it is just sitting there. I need to move it before Saturday...ugh...

Nello~ the only way I can manage personals is by doing it when the kiddos are asleep or occupied and sometimes it takes me a loooong time to do it. So while it might look like I'm sitting for an hour straight replying, it's sometime more like 3 or 4 hours. ;) I agree, July is going to be a tough month, but I know we can make our goals--we're a tough bunch of girls! :)

Joyra
~ Congrats on the losses!! That's awesome! :)

Blondie~ sorry to hear TOM is messing with you! Sounds like working out at work might not be the ideal situation--is there a better time for you? Before work or after maybe?

Mom~ glad to hear you were able to get into the dr so quickly and that you got that mole taken care of--no other worries or concerns there I'm assuming? I'll chat with you about your meds later. :) As far as the weight issue--I'm still going with water retention. You flew remember? And you went from drinking water all day here to not drinking nearly as much at work right? Plus, we lifted weights so there's a bit of water retention probably going on in your muscles. How are your fingers? Are your rings snug? Don't let the scale get you down, today is a new day and those numbers will get smaller! After work today I expect to get an email saying you worked out k? Chop, chop! I'm not afraid to get all :drill: on you too! ;) Now drink your water!! :D

Candtlove
~ :welcome: You're going to love these ladies!

Ruby~ Woo hoo! Great job getting that workout in! That's fantastic! Sorry PMS is messing with you--I'm having issues with that myself--grrr...stupid TOM!

Stephanie
~ sounds like you had a great day--now, today, I want you to Drink Your Water!!! :D

Just a dreamy 1 (JAD1)~ :welcome: Oh binge eating is a treat isn't it? Ugh! I'm a big binge eater from way back! Congrats on making it through 10 days with no binging! I'm sure you'll be able to make your goals, just take one day at a time. :)

Peachy
~ Mmmm, pizza! It's so tough to resist and you did an awesome job! WTG girlie!!! :)

Momma~ :welcome: Yes, this group of ladies is amazing and you'll find nothing but support and friendship here! Jump right in and make yourself comfy! :)

Couch~ shame on you for thinking about not joining! T'sk, t'sk...:nono: ;) Glad you decided to join us girlie! I know what you mean, I'm an instant gratification type of gal and I want to be at my goal weight NOW! But, I know that slow and steady wins the race and I just keep my focus on one day at a time.

Good gravy! Note to self: check in every night so that it doesn't take me forever to type personals!

So ladies, did you hear it? The loud thunderclap? Ya know, the giant boom when the clouds parted and the heavens opened up and angels descended with their harps singing Hallelujah, all the while birds everywhere were singing their happy little songs all around me as if I was Snow White?

Well, did ya?

Wanna know why the heavens opened up?

Do ya?

Well...

It's because I'm in the 150's baby!!!!! :celebrate: 159.4 to be exact! I am over the moon!! :D :carrot: :cheer: What's even better is, after my workout I was 158.8!!!! So perhaps I'll be a solid 159 tomorrow and I can update my ticker! Oh girls, I have never been this close to goal!! Never! I'm all giddy and goofy right now! Hee hee!

Now, if I can just hold onto this shiny, happy feeling all day! I've been battling some weird PMS issues this week. Start off the day all happy and positive and by the afternoon I'm tired, cranky and just want to go to bed. Last night I headed upstairs at 8:30 and stayed there all night. The kids have been bickering and whiny all week too, so that's not helping matters any. I'm with Delphi, I wish TOM would just hurry up and get here so I can get it over with.

Okay, well, I've rambled long enough! Have a fantastically wonderful day girls! And don't forget to...

Drink Your Water!!!!
:D

CakeBatter 07-02-2009 09:22 AM

Mystical, you have the right mindset now, and before you know it staying OP will be second nature, especially when those lbs start dropping off! So keep at it, chickie! You are on your way!! :cheer:

Peachy, you go girl!! Good for you eating right against the odds and exercising!! Great job!! :carrot:

Delphi, heck yeah, 199.9 is ONEderland!!! As long as it doesn't begin with a 2, it's 1-derland!!! Congrats on being down today, and with TOM looming, that's amazing! :dancer:

Susie, love the new avatar pic, pretty lady!! Did you make that walk? Huh? Did ya? :D

Cake, we LOVE hearing about your race, so don't you dare apologize for it! Tell us MORE!! Good luck on your WI tonight!! :crossed:

CMof4!!!!! Woohoo on the panties!!!! :bravo::congrat::yay::carrot::broc::dancer::cheer: CONGRATULATIONS on the 150s!!!! I'm so happy for you!! Can you tell? :D :woohoo:

Geesh, in all the excitement, I almost forgot, I've lost another lb!! :carrot: I've met my next mini-goal, and even more exciting, I now have lost more weight than I have left to lose!!! I'm past the halfway mark!! And I'm on my way to having lost 40 lbs!! Now girlies, that's a LOT!! :cheer:

iDream 07-02-2009 09:37 AM

Cake~ Thanks hun! It feels fanfreakin'tastic!! :D

Jacqui~ Woo hoo on the panties to YOU girlie!!! :cheer2::cheer3::cheer2::celebrate::carrot::broc: Halfway there, you're halfway there!!! How freakin' good does that feel? Woo hoo! Yeah baby, you're kickin' that fat's boo-tay! You should be ever so proud of yourself! I know I am!!!

glutio 07-02-2009 09:39 AM

mystical, where in Mississippi are you?

Delphi, ooooh, that makes sense! They were just doing some kind of update on the GWF site yesterday. I don't know what changed other than losing the buttons to upload my data in Firefox!

crazymama, after all this, I don't know if I'll have time for Indiana!! Especially if everything falls into like with the new house cause then I'll have to power clean it plus removing wallpaper and trying to get things livable until we can afford renovations!

Speaking of house, we were at Home Depot yesterday and I said something to the cashier about 2 weeks to get the house ready to list. She asked where it was, and I told her some info. Her sister and brother in law are looking to buy in the general area of where Home Depot is (which is 5 min from our house) and they've been looking for 3 months. I gave her the address and my number if her sister wants to check it out. How cool would that be?!

I have one cabinet left in the kitchen to reorganize and bleach to death. I won't have any before pics, but I'll try to take after pics tonight! The eat-in area is a mess, though, from all the things I've pulled out to pack away. It's amazing how much stuff was crammed in there!

In weight-loss news, I'm starting the month off right! Down 1 pound from yesterday and looking like I'll be in the 260's this week!!! I'm at 270.5, so I only need to lose 1 more for that. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

<3 to you all!

candtlove 07-02-2009 10:22 AM

Thank you all for the welcome.

I haven't done any exercises this morning but will be doing them soon. I already have 2 down and hope to add at least 2 more for the week. GL.

Thanks, Delphi! You, too :D

Peachy - I love me some pizza every once in awhile, and I always have a hard time feeling like 2 peices is enough. I love the fruit idea! Thanks! And good for you!!

Sandye - Thank you for the welcome! 'One day at a time' is actually kind of my mantra :)

Congratulations on reaching the 150's!!!!!!! That's awesome!

Jacqui - Thank you! Congratulations on the pound down!!

I had to cook some chicken breast and send out a few resumes, so I'm going for my walk after if I still have time before work. Not the ideal situation, but I'm going to do housework and run around today as much as possible just in case I need to make up for the lost walk.

Day 11 binge free! So close to 2 weeks!!!!!!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Ms Perception 07-02-2009 11:14 AM

Okay, well...today is packing day for our trip to Missouri. It's about 11 hours driving, so I hear ya Sandye! I have packed the kids' snack box and soon I'll head to the store to buy my snacks and misc stuff for the trip. BTW, CONGRATULATIONS on the 150's! You stinker, you beat me there! I am super close though! I hope this trip doesn't mess up my progress.
I won't have tome to post in the a.m. tomorrow before we leave, but you can bet I'll post from wherever we are if (I get the chance) to let you all know how I'm doing.
Now, I'm off to post my minutes in the exercise thread! You all have a wonderful day!

Jacqui_D 07-02-2009 11:53 AM

CMof4, I'm glad you have your lunches figured out and that you packed your weights! Wow, when you said you had lost more than the weights your DH was reluctant to load because of the added weight on the trip, that was just a real eye-opener about how much weight some of us have been carrying around all this time!! It's so great to be free of it! Have fun on your trip! Will you have access to a computer when you get there? If not, we'll miss you!

Ms_P, have fun on your trip! I hope you'll be able to check in once you get there! We're gonna miss you too!

Dreamy, Well, I hope you are able to get a walk in, but if not, you have a good back-up plan! :D Congrats on 11 days in!! :carrot:

Candtlove: Good job on getting 2 workouts in so far! You should head over to the July Exercise Challenge thread and keep a daily log like many of us do! You're already on the list! So far, mine looks like this:

July 1--15 min elliptical
July 2--
July 3--
July 4--
July 5--

Yep, okay, I still have to get to the gym today for strength training! But I'll get there! :D

Glutio, I wish you luck with that couple looking for a home in your area! :crossed:

Delphi 07-02-2009 12:27 PM

MsP ~ have fun on your trip darling and good luck with all the packing.

dreamy ~ 11 days is a huge success...:bravo: I hope to see that number keep rising everyday kiddo. ;)

Glutio ~ You have come a long way already and you are doing so well even under trying circumstances. Keep it up kiddo and we will be seeing you at goal...:carrot:

Sandye ~ I hate to say I told ya so...but I did. ;) You made it to the 150's..HOT DAMN girlfriend. So when ya get to 150 do you think you will keep going? I'm trying to determine that myself! Anyways :congrat: :woohoo: on the panties and 's! Gonna miss ya while your gone on your trip, but good to know you got all your food and such figured out.

~ Everyone says take a day off and I do, but it never hurt anyone to simply take a walk, your not burning a whole heap of calories, but your moving, staying active and that just makes you feel better all around, so I say go for it dear. ;)

Jacqui ~ Don't think I didn't notice your goals for the month. Sooooo my question to you is...are you eating enough? Skipping meals? huh? are ya? I'm gonna stay on you, regardless of your goals chicky. We have to keep that metabolism boosted. ;)

As for me, I just returned from wally world, yet again. OH MY GOSH, at trying to find a pair of sunglasses. Urg. I bet I tried on 50 pair of glasses and all of them made me look like a character from Revenge of the NErds. Don't act like you guys didn't watch it...ya did, just admit it. Anywho, so no new glasses but I did buy a new bra. My girls are leaving me and I had to go down to a B cup. God help me. You know what it's cool, I'd rather have little boobs as opposed to the huge tire around my waist.

Well ladies, I suppose I'll go out and mow the lawn, with my broke down, ancient, smoke blowing, utterly shameless push mower of mine and burn some calories. I WILL NOT be bested by that piece of junk. Does anyone else find themselves mowing the lawn more than they should..like me? The dang grass could go another three days, but I'm gonna get out there and put some cool lines in my lawn. Perhaps for kicks I'll write 3FC in my grass...eh? Or..maybe not. Think I'll just get to it and count that as my extra cardio today. Sheesh it takes so much freakin' effort to even push that dilapidated piece of crap, I should get a freakin' medal every time I mow my lawn...John Deere my a double s.

Tootaloo ladies

iDream 07-02-2009 01:12 PM

Afternoon gals! :)

Glutio~ ooh, good luck with the house selling! That would be so cool if you could find a buyer easy peasy! :) Well, if you don't have time to swing by here after you clean up your place and relocate--I guess I could take a raincheck! ;) Congrats on the loss! By the sounds of your cleaning, I guess you can count it as extra cardio huh? ;)

Cand~ be sure to let us know when you get that workout in! We want to be able to give high 5's and stuff! :)

JAD1~ Woo hoo! Day 11!! You're doing fantastic hun! Keep up the great work!

MsP~ I'm still in shock! I bet you'll be there before you know it! :) You and me girlie--we're gettin' there! Glad to hear you'll be able to check in! Have a great trip and I'm sending you peaceful car journey vibes your way! :goodvibes

Jacqui~ yeah, putting an object to the amount of weight you've lose is a real eye opener! I've lost more than my biggest dd! She's 34 lbs, I've lost 40 (from back in Jan)--and she's not easy to lug around either! ;) Yes, I'll have computer access (might bring the laptop too) while I'm gone and you'd better believe I'm going to be checking in! I need you girls to keep me in line while I'm gone!!

Delphi~ I don't mow the lawn. Hubby does! :D It's the one form of exercise he gets! ;) He mows all the time too! Not sure what the facination is, but he loves a fresh cut lawn. LOL Thanks girlie, this is one of those times I don't mind being told 'I told you so' ;). Yes, I do plan to keep going once I hit my goal. Back in Jan when I was 200 lbs I set the goal for 150. It's a goal I've set many times (farthest back was my wedding day goal 10 years ago) and one I've never managed to get this close to. I'm still not sure what weight I'm going to end up at, but once I hit 150, I'm thinking I'll set a new goal of 140 and go from there. I know at some point I'm going to stop losing and I'm thinking it'll be then that I really need to amp up the strength training and firm up--I'm still incredibly soft and jiggly. :o

Okay girls, I have an announcement to make!

I, Sandye (CMof4), did NOT have a microwave meal for lunch!!! :cb: Instead, I had a ham, spinach and cucumber wrap with ff cream cheese!!! You ladies inspired me with all your lunch and snack suggestions and since I really need to wean myself from the microwave stuff--I took the leap! :D

Now, since I don't have any low carb or low cal/fat tortillas I had to use flatbread (100 cals 2.5gm fat)--anybody got any favorite low cal/fat tortillas or wraps they can recommend? I'm gunna need 'em for my trip! :)

Thanks for the inspiration ladies! I feel so good about my lunch choice today and I got in extra veggies!! :carrot:

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day and that you're drinking your water!!!! :D

Delphi 07-02-2009 02:07 PM

Sandye ~ I can be of no help. I just get whole wheat tortillas, in the Spanish aisle of my grocery store. Sorry, I couldn't be of more help. But :carrot: on not eating a microwave meal for lunch. I did that a lot when I first started, but quickly grew tired of them. However, these days I still eat my ready to serve brown rice for lunch...so still using the ol' microwave. ;)

just_a_dreamy1 07-02-2009 02:43 PM

Thanks, ladies!

Well, I got some cleaning done, but now I'm feeling really shaky. Not like twitching shaky, but like, rubbery arms and legs, and feeling like I need to sit down. I'm working on my fourth bottle of water, so it's not dehydration. I was a little hungry, so I'm eating lunch. But feeling like this doesn't really make sense :|

Sandye - Good for you for not eating a microwave lunch! Here's a tortilla idea...I've heard that p butter and banana wrapped up in a tortilla is really good. I've never tried it, but I LOVE p butter and banana bagels and oatmeal.

Gekster 07-02-2009 02:49 PM

This morning I was completely unmotivated (you may see a trend here with me lately). Stepping on the scale and seeing I am almost back up to 286 was so depressing and it made it all worse, especially since tomorrow is the start of the weekend, which is always my downfall. Well, I had to walk to the post office today because I am expecting a package, so I sucked it up and went, no package, but, as I walked through the house afterward I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and actually took a double take. For the first time I am seeing that change in myself that the scale has been showing. I think that was what I needed, I just wanted to write this to set in stone that I am now going to but in that video and work my butt off because that is how I will get the scale to go down, not by sitting on the couch.

Ms Perception 07-02-2009 02:51 PM

Sandye-Thanks for the calm car ride vibes. Back at ya babe! When do you leave? I was back and forth about the laptop, but I think we're gonna take it. I'm gonna miss you all too much otherwise :D, plus the accountability factor...please, how could I not take it!?

Anyway, tonight is WW WI night and I'm gonna see a good solid #, I know. I've been SO OP lately. I am in that really motivated place at the moment and I guess that's good right before the vacation challenge!

Okay, you house cleaners...I went totally Mrs. Clean on my van. There were substances in the rear cupholders that are defintely not of this planet, and mushed raisin in the gear of the stow-and-go seat in the middle, but did I back down? NO...I faced them like the strong woman I am!! My van is now in wonderful travel condition, I've loaded the food (non-perishables), packed the picnic basket with plates, napkins, plastic utensils, etc. I loaded the cooler with drinks (will add ice and perishables in the a.m.), cleaned the kitchen, did laundry, washed dishes, took my van in for service, and did school with my kids (we've homeschooled up 'til now and normally don't do summer, but we wanted to do some fun things before the go to public school this fall). How's that for a productive day? Scared, are ya? Well, I'm going on vaca tomorrow and you can all catch up while I'm gone! Heehee

Jacqui_D 07-02-2009 03:26 PM

Delphi, OMGosh! Look at the lovely sculpted lines of your face! You look like a movie star in those glasses, "dahling"! I am eating! I was late with lunch today because I went to the gym first, but so far I am still following last month's regimen. Actually, I forget that I'm not still tied to it, lol! :D

CMof4 and Ms_P, I'm so glad you are both taking your laptops! :carrot:

Dreamy, your shakiness sounds like low blood sugar, like either not enough calories or too many carbs without a balance of protein if you are carb-sensitive or insulin resistant. What did you have for breakfast? And did you have a mid-morning snack?

Gekster, girl, you are going to have to post some pics!! Good for you for your determination to do that video!! :cp:

Delphi 07-02-2009 03:42 PM

Jacqui ~ Well that's good that you are still following it...perhaps it is becoming a habit now? Haha on the picture, just fooling around...I like the definition I'm starting to see, just wish the belly would follow suit as well. ;)

Gekster ~ Don't cha know EVERY TIME I go to write you a personal, I still write Dekster and have to start over again..EVERY TIME. Anywho, I know it's difficult to get motivated some times, so you just hop on here and send me a PM and I'll help in any way I can. I exercise in the mornings, because it is convenient and that is the time of the day I have the most energy. I've started adding cardio in the evenings and let me tell you, I have really got to push myself to do it. For me, I'll upload the data on my band and look at my calorie burn and that usually motivates me to get my butt up and burn 500 calories, because, the more calories you burn, the bigger your deficit will be. But I need something most of the time. I just have hardly any energy in the evenings, so I find something to get me going...maybe you need to add motivation envelopes since that seems to be working for you as well. So when you don't feel like getting up and doing this or that, you can open a motivation envelope and perhaps that will get you all pumped up. Just a thought...we all need something, for me, I do. I'm all about taking this journey and I can honestly say I've been POP since I started, but to push myself so hard with exercise, I need SOMETHING, I found my SOMETHING, so perhaps you need that SOMETHING to.

MsP ~ :woohoo: on the panties girlfriend. You are gettin' it done. Good for you. I  at the weird unearthly substance...man have I seen that before. Too many times for my liking. At any rate, you have yourself a great time on your trip and here's to a peaceful and smooth commute for you and yours.

dreamy ~ Hmmm, not sure, though Jacqui is a brilliant lady, I think I'll go with her thoughts on this one. ;)

glutio 07-02-2009 03:51 PM

I never did stick with my headshot of the day plan, but I did take one this morning to compare with the first of June. You can totally see a difference just in my head!! I'm going to try to get DH to take a body shot soon to compare with my last one as well. Tell me what you thin, but ignore the flat hair syndrome!

I messed up my image! It should be 270.5 for July!

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3552/...eedbf6e9c4.jpg

Delphi 07-02-2009 03:53 PM

OH HECK YA GLUTIO....You CAN definitely tell a big difference. If that isn't motivation, then I don't know what is. You are looking great. :)

Gekster 07-02-2009 04:01 PM

I wanted to push myself today so I got on the On Demand feature for my cable and found TBL bootcamp. I thought I was going to die, but it felt so good! I've decided in a couple hours I am going to do the yoga as well. It is written, I am now committed. I want to try to do the yoga daily, but more towards the end of the day.

Jacqui- Thanks. I am actually going to try to take pics tonight and make it a normal thing. I see everyone with their before and after pics and have wanted to do it, but haven't had the motivation, but seeing myself today, I think it will be worth it.

Delphi- lol about Dexter. Maybe it will help if I tell you my name is a nickname off of a nickname? Now about exercise, when I do it in the morning I have to psych myself up less, but it has to be long enough after I wake up that I am functional and able to actually stay vertical, but before I get hungry because if I exercise after I eat I feel really sick. I am thinking maybe I need to take pictures as a motivation because that seemed to work today. Oh, and my BF has tomorrow off so the weekend is starting tomorrow, don't forget your :frypan: and :rollpin:! I may need it!

merose 07-02-2009 05:04 PM

wow this thread moves fast! I've got to make sure I keep up...

I'm down 2lb - only 7 to go.

I'm going now to catch up on all these posts!

Jacqui_D 07-02-2009 05:35 PM

Delphi, yep, that's what I'm thinking. What is it--13 days to form a habit? It's something like that.

Glutio, I can definitely see a difference. In the first pic, your face looks puffy, and now it doesn't. Don't you mean 270.5 lbs? You've lost more than 3.5 lbs!

Crystal, good for you finding and doing the bootcamp! Can't wait to see your pics when you are ready to share them!

Merose, Congrats on being 2 lbs down!! :carrot: It's so true that this thread moves fast, lol! The June thread ended up being over 600 posts, but that was our SECOND June thread because the first one got locked after it passed 500 posts! (That's 3FC policy--they let us get away with the 600+ thread!) And now we're almost at 200 posts in this thread, only two days into July! We like to talk, lol!

Delphi 07-02-2009 06:43 PM

Here I am again. My name is Delphi and I am a multiple poster.

Gekster ~ Ah, gotcha. Now I have the Geiko commercials stuck in my head. At any rate, I have my :frypan: and :rollpin: all ready for the weekend. You can do it!

Jacqui
~ Yeah I think that is about right. Well good for you hun, that is totally a NSV if you ask me. :)

merose ~ Yup, we get kind of chatty around here. :) Oh and :congrat: and :woohoo: on the 2lb drop. That is great. Keep doing whatever you're doing because it is definitely working girlfriend. ;)

As for me, I just finished my evening cardio and I REALLY did not want to do it. I stayed up entirely too late last night and I'm dragging my feet but I turned the Wii on and did it. I feel better than I did before I started, but I'm still exhausted. I don't think it will be too long before I hit the hay. So I'll bid you ladies farewell for the evening. See you ladies in the morning. :) :) :)

mystical 07-02-2009 06:51 PM

Glutio I am from Mississauga, Onatrio Canada, I just moved here last July from Arkansas. We are now in the process of moving into our new house. We have been living in an apartment for the past year and we are so ready to finally be getting into our house.

I have been so busy tonday with trying to get all of our utilities, internet, phone, all switched to the new house and in between I have been trying to get our house packed. Then I finally take a little break today and I just realized I have not eaten anything today all I have had is water. Suprising thought I don't feel like I am starving so we are just going to have turkey sandwhich or wraps tonight with a salad. I am just to tired to do any cooking tonight. I am going to try and get my cardio in before bedtime wish me luck.... : )

Late to the game 07-02-2009 08:03 PM

I just finished my lower body and abs. It was much more fun with Sandye! I've had just 60 oz of water so far, but I bought a 64 oz water container today. Time for a shower, before I make my delish fish and salad for dinner. BTW, store brand (Sunnyside) yogurt does not make me swoon.

Late to the game 07-02-2009 08:06 PM

Way to go, Sandye! I knew you could do it!

2beautiful2Bfat 07-02-2009 08:48 PM

Can i join too? I want to lose 10 lbs. My starting weight was 212 so my goal weight is 202

2beautiful, :welcome:!! No it's not too late to join! Good to have you! I've added you to the list! Good luck!

LTTG: Good for you staying OP and for buying that 64 oz water bottle! :carrot: I've never tried Sunnyside yogurt. I love Activia! I like the full-fat kind the best, but I've switched over to light, and I'm used to it now. If Sunnyside is the kind you want to keep buying, maybe you'll get used to it!

Mystical, I'll say a refrain that I have heard over and over: Don't forget to eat!! If you're like me, when you eat healthily, your body doesn't send strong hunger cues! (But the junk food sure does!) But it's still important to eat so that you don't get low blood sugar or slow down your metabolism!

Delphi, it will be an NSV if it lasts! We'll see!

iDream 07-02-2009 09:19 PM

Good evening girls! I decided that I had to check in before going to bed because I was waaaaaay behind this morning!

Delphi~ lovin' the new avatar! You sexy thang you! You're an animal with all your cardio! I hope you get some good sleep tonight girlie!

JAD1~ I agree with Jacqui--low blood sugar might be what made you all shaky. It happened to me back before I made sure to eat snacks between meals. Be sure to eat every couple of hours if you can--it'll help. :)

Gekster~ that a girl! You're so right! You know what it's going to take to get that weight off and you're doing it! Woo hoo! I'm so glad that you're seeing your hard work paying off! :) Don't you worry about the weekend, I'll unload on ya tomorrow and scare ya real good! You won't nibble on a cucumber without thinkin' of me with my rolling pin! :rollpin:

MsP~ I am officially jealous! I just vacuumed out the van and didn't have the drive to scour it--plus the kids were beyond crazy tonight (why am I braving this drive again? Heaven help me...). Anyway, WTG getting your van all squeaky clean for the trip! Have a safe trip and check in when you can--and be sure to DRINK YOUR WATER!!! :D

Jacqui~ glad to hear you're eating when you should! I completely forgot to nag you and Delphi about it too! I'll be sure to harrass you girls more often. ;)

Glutio
~ yup, yup, yup! Definitely see a difference girlie! Woo hoo! Keep up the great work hun!

Merose~ congrats on the loss! Keep up the great work!

Mom~ woo hoo! I'm so proud of you!! Yeah, my workouts aren't the same now without you--singing to Dave all by myself  Did you get a workout bench? Glad to hear you got a water bottle--that'll help tons with drinking water at work. :) Um, not to spill the beans or anything, but you forgot to mention your loss this morning! :D Ahem--you need to update the girls, how else are you gunna get fun little :cheer:s and :carrot:s? ;) Thanks for the congrats--now for those last 9 lbs...Sorry that Sunnyside does not make you swoon...I've still got some of your Yoplaits...wanna come over? :D

2Beautiful~ :welcome:! Jump right in!! We have a great bunch of girls here!

Well ladies, it's been a long day. A long week actually. PMS has reared it's ugly head and I've been so grouchy! Enough is enough! Come on TOM, let's get this thing going and get it over with for Pete's sake!

On a positive note, after hitting the 150's this morning, I felt gutsy and decided to venture to my closet...

I have all of my clothes divided into 'can wear now', 'can almost wear' and 'hope to be able to wear soon'. Most of the later catagory is Winter stuff, including my size 12 Misses Levis 550s...well, I decided to give them a go. The last time I tried them on, they were way too tight and I couldn't zip them up. Today, they fit! Yeah, they're a little on the snug side around my lower abdominal area (but everything fits tighter there since my c-sections), but the legs actually had room in them!!! :carrot: Well, since that went so well, I decided to hit the area I call, 'My Long Lost Youth' I have dresses hanging there that I haven't worn for 15 years. Some are from those cutesty little Jr's stores where everything runs insanely small, you know the type...anyway, I grabbed one...it fit! Granted it didn't look as nice on me as when I wore it last, but IT FIT!! So, I grabbed another and another...they all fit!!!! :woohoo: I was stunned! The most shocking dress of all, the one I wore to my wedding rehearsal, fit (and showed me that my legs have a long way to go in the toning dept, lemme tell ya ;)) and it's a size--are you ready for this?!?!--it's a size 8!! :faint:

Girls, I'm telling you, I could not have gotten here without you all! Heck, I couldn't have mustered up the courage to even try those clothes on if it weren't for you (and Delphi has to get some credit because she was talking about trying on clothes again the other day and that kind of sparked my interest in retrying some stuff on)!! Thank you, thank you, thank you all! You are the most wonderful bunch of ladies ever and I am so very thankful I found you!

Geez, I say that a lot don't I?

Okay, well, I've babbled long enough and I need to get my butt to bed so I can get up early tomorrow for my workout!! :D

Have a fantastic night girls! :)
