Urg...so I've had the Jillian Michaels game for awhile and finally decided to pop it in today. BORING and BAD are the two words that come to mind. This game is a fail ladies. The only use you might get out of this game is by using the case as a coaster.

Jacqui, I just checked in for the first time in a few days and read your post, and I want you to know you're in my thoughts and I'm wishing you the best with all you're struggling with! I have SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and I've struggled with depression as a result of it ever since high school, and though for the most part I'm in a good place now, I know that feeling of dreading a depression coming on, and how hard it can be to fight against it. If there's anything I can do, please let me know! I think you're great, and hope things will get better soon!! xoxo

I've been awfully busy, and the weather has been awfully, well, awful, but I've managed about 9 miles since I last checked in, so I've done 20.5 of the 40 miles I want to do in the next...6 days? So I'll have to step it up, but I'll give it my best shot.

From reading all your posts, it seems like everyone is working hard! I'm so impressed! Keep it up, ladies!

FSA: Supposedly there have been no substantiated cougar sightings in either Northern Georgia or South Carolina in decades. But that didn't stop my paranoid neighbors from acting like we were all about to be mauled the second we stepped foot outside our houses. :/

Anyway, I did my exercises yesterday:
June 11 - 2 walks and 30 minutes workout

But I went to the movies with my son and ate popcorn. And raisinets. :( And ate ham at my Mom's place for dinner. :( So I am feeling huge today. I hope this feeling goes away before it's time to weigh in on Sunday.

Ican, thank you so much. You're so sweet! I'm sorry to hear you have SAD. I'm glad you have a handle on it though. I am always amazed by your determined spirit. I am a fighter too, so hopefully I'll get through this without it taking too great of a hold on me. Even though I am not posting/commenting as much, it does help to keep posting some and to read everyone else's posts, as well as to keep up with my exercise even though I don't feel like it. So, I am working to stay focused and not give in. Thank you for your well wishes.

June 12~ 4 miles elliptical, 35 flights on stair master (now I am going to go pass out)

I am loving working out. I missed it so much while I was in a cast, so I'm glad to get back to being active. It makes me a happier person and I feel so much better. Today was the first day since I broke my leg that I tried the stair master. Whew! That was exhausting! From now on, if I do the stair master, then it will be its own workout instead of after 4 miles on a elliptical.

Newshinyme 06-12-2009 03:36 PM

WEEEEEE! it's Friday!!!

Jacqui: Keep your chin up girl! Glad you hear you are determined to keep going and that you are still exercising. One step at a time my friend!

Since I had posted that I was going to be adding something else to my workout yesterday, I had to pull out the Wii at 10:30 PM and do some free stepping while watching TV :). Nothing better than a little accountability thread to get me off my bum!

icandoallthings6613 06-12-2009 08:02 PM

Keep at it, Jacqui! We're here if you need us.

Since I knew I had to get my rear in gear to meet my 40 mile goal, I did a 2.5 miles walk and a 2.5 mile run today, so my new total is 25.5 miles completed. 14.5 to go.

Way to keep with it, ladies! We're nearly half way through June!

glutio 06-12-2009 08:10 PM

I think I'm taking today off, at least when it comes to the gym. I have spent the WHOLE DAY cleaning the house for tomorrow's cookout. I've actually managed to do a really good job, mostly avoiding my standard method of putting things in a box and shoving them in the closet! I even dusted everything around the tv cabinet and shelves by it! I kind of thought about cleaning it to show since we might be listing it soon!

HisSweetGypsyRose 06-12-2009 09:50 PM

I've been doing so well walking twice around McKinley Park with my friend that tonight I wanted to try and do a bit more.

Using this cool tool from Prevention.com, I decided to map out a route in my neighborhood that's a bit more than 2 miles. The route is 2.77 miles, and once my sweetie pie husband gets home (hopefully by 7:30) we're going walking.

I am going to exceed my exercise goal this month! I think I'd better up it to at least 50 miles walking for July :)

Pas de Chaton 06-12-2009 10:24 PM

June 12 - 2 walks, 30 minute workout - goal met

Week 2 is still on track for me, as far as exercise. I ate better today but still feel like I've gained. :( But tomorrow is cardio on the MFC so I will be sweating and working hard. :)

Thanks Delphi!

I can see why you like this one :). Definitely very different from the Active!. Personally I've never been a fan of the dancy workouts, probably because I have zero coordination and I can't follow and I just get frustrated he he.
You have piqued my interest enough that I am thinking about going to the video store to see if they have it available for rent to give it a try with the kind of workout I like. I will keep you posted!

NSM ~ No problem. :) Well, I like that the exercises scroll at the bottom of the screen so you know what's next at all times. But yeah, I really like the cardio. But I've also set up other profiles to focus only on Strength Training and Core Training, so the focus is completely different as well as different goals for each, so it's an INTENSE focus on those areas. So yeah...me likes it! :carrot:

Okay...been on vacation for a few days and trying to catch back up on life. Things have just been hectic. But i have been getting some excersize in.

While on vacation....I claim 2 hours of walking up and down hills at Sixflags, 30 minutes of laps at the hotel pool, at least an hour of walking to and from and around the Coca Cola Factory and the Aquarium. Then i did manage to hit the gym twice since being back. I got in 30 minutes one day and an hour today. Not alot for a week...but it's something.

Okay...well...i decided to get off my butt after typing this and went outside to cut grass for an hour. I cut the whole front yard and i dug a hole and planted my rose bush i got in april for my birthday. So...i added another hour to my excersize ticker. Definately going to try to hit the gym tomorrow after church and get another hour or two.

That is pretty awesome Delphi, and she doesn't even break a sweat! That just looks like a good old fashioned workout and if anyone asked me to do a lawnmower, well, we'd have to have a little discussion about that.

Delphi, I think this was talked about way earlier in this thread, but being as usual completely oblivious, I just wanted to say your new avatar picture is foxy! Love it!

Today was beautiful and I went on a 3 mile walk with some friends in teh afternoon, after hitting some tag sales and getting some new beach books in the morning. Hopefully more nice weather is on the way.

Miles completed: 28.5. 11.5 to go.

Keep up the great work, ladies!

You can find the video on my youtube account here!

Thanks for sharing...you burned alot of calories....how long was the whole workout? I know the movie was about 9 minutes long but I'm sure you didn't burn that many calories in that short of time...if you did, I'm getting me one!!! LOL

Delphi 06-14-2009 09:13 AM

Jacque ~ It was a 60 minute session but for youtube, the videos can only be a maximum of 10 minutes long. So I tried to edit it to where I could show a variety of the exercises.

icandoallthings6613 ~:^::^::^: thanks! I don't think you are in the June challenge for weightloss, and that's usually where I do personals. We would love to see ya over there as well. :) I keep forgetting to do them here, because so many of us are in both. ;) At any rate, you are doing a wonderful job with your commitment and providing such a positive example to others as well. So :bravo:

Tummygirl ~ Hey I thought about taking some footage of the Active as well so you guys could see how to do the grocery cart/lawn mower/ lasso  I might do that as well.

I don't know if I could do that for an hour straight...but you did GREAT burning that many calories and doing it for that long.

Delphi 06-14-2009 09:28 AM

Thanks Jacque!'s! I really do enjoy it. Actually, I'm burning over 500 calories per session according to the GoWearFit, so I know I'm getting a great workout. The intensity is up really high on my cardio sessions though, but I'm a junkie to. I need to sweat, I need to feel like when I work out, that I WORKED OUT. Ya know? This for now, does it for me. Now how long it will, that remains to be seen. But for now, it will do! :)
