NSM, so funny!

Lewis, you are prettier than Snow White!! Look at you! Radiant! :)

Ican, I can NOT believe you took that photo with a computer camera!! I could have sworn it was intentional with the way you are off to one side in the foreground and are being balanced out by the window and lamp in the background! And the color and shadowing! As for the age, you're like me, lol! Actually, I'm one of those to stay out of photos so it's hard to find a recent photo of me! (And believe it or not, I used to be a calendar girl! Lol!) Maybe after I lose weight, I won't be so camera shy...maybe. :D

Gatorgirl, what time did you go to the gym? I once went at night...ugh...never again if I can help it! I don't mind going to the pool that late, but not to the weight machines. I felt like I was at a bar with all the flirting going on around me at that time, lol!

Lumi, back on the wagon, girlie! One day like that for special occasions now and then won't hurt, but let us know how you do today! We're rooting for ya! :cheer:

Glutio, oh, that's great that your DH did go with you! And that now he's going to go to the gym you prefer! Good job! :cp:

Yay!! Good for you RubyJan!! And yes, Delphi does not fool around with her exercise and weight loss! That girl's on a mission! :D

Delphi, I wish I knew your secret!! Must be all that positive thinking!!

Well, ladies, I'm off the the gym! Have a great morning and a great day!!

Thanks Jan and Jacqui, it's all mind over matter as far as I'm concerned! I've always carried my weight well, but just got to the point where I simply didn't care. I never leave the house, so there was no need to impress anyone. But, one day, I just said, let's do this and I'm not gonna stop. I will be healthy and I will lose this weight come **** or highwater.

dollypie 06-03-2009 09:55 AM

I'm counting today as my first day of the month. I was very active the last few days, but not with formal exercise. I still lost a bit, but the month officially begins for me today!

6/3: 68 minutes (5 miles WAH), 30 min WiiFit (incl. 10 Min SuperHula!!)

TERAPET 06-03-2009 01:17 PM

Happy June Everybody,

I'm back from my trip for the wedding. It was a long car ride but a beautiful wedding. I did manage to exercise while I was gone so I did make my 1800 minutes last month. I am ready for a change now. 1800 minutes was a lot of time to spend at the Y. I am thinking of using the treadmill before work instead and taking a break from all the classes. That may not be the best idea though. So I guess I will set a goal of 30 miles on the treadmill and see what happens.

June 1 0
June 2 2.25 miles

gatorgirl6 06-03-2009 02:40 PM

Jacqui- I got there around 7. Every treadmill and elliptical was full. Mostly all the weight machines were full. I was lucky that I got my favorite bike (It has a great view of all the weight machines. I like to people watch and watching guys lift weights is never a bad thing. ;) ). There were just SO many people. I wouldn't mind the flirting if I looked a little cuter, but I don't tend to look my best while I'm at the gym. lol. I think I am going to get sucked into going at that time again today. I have another test tonight, so I have put off going to the gym until its over. If the test gets out later than I might not get to the gym till 8pm. Maybe there will be less people there then. This will be my 3rd day in a row going. That is quite good for me. I am going to try to make it a habit of going 4-5 times each week.

Jacqui_D 06-03-2009 02:53 PM

Terapet!! Congrats on having made your May goal!! I went right over and recorded it! I'm so proud of you of making that extra effort to get it done even on vacation!! Great job!!!

Jacqui_D 06-03-2009 02:55 PM

Ladies, my DH needs the computer, so I will be back on later to do personals!

Jacque9999 06-03-2009 03:22 PM

Delphi You are doing great!!!

Squeeze 06-03-2009 05:51 PM

Wow - everyone's doing great. After a shaky start to the week (combination of travel, work and sniffles) I made it down to the gym tonight and got in my cardio and toning which means I'm still on track for my June goals. Woo hoo! Very proud of myself because I almost talked myself out of going several times today :)

Jacqui_D 06-03-2009 07:08 PM

Squeeze, great job!! :carrot: The only way to get your metabolism to run more efficiently is to build some muscle, and the only way to do that is to exercise! Talking yourself out of exercising is a big :nono: here! It will always be easy to talk ourselves out of exercising, so we can't go by willpower. We have to go by commitment. We can't judge by what we "feel" like doing. We have to judge by what we "know" we should do, so great job on doing the right thing chickie!! I'll be putting a red MET GOAL!! by your name yet!!

Gator, well, you are young and beautiful, so you should be flirted with at the gym, lol! I hope your tests went well for you!! :crossed:

Delphi, I see you changed your pic! You must have dropped some more lbs!! :cp:

Look at all you ladies go!! GREAT job!!!

Newshinyme 06-03-2009 07:20 PM

Hubby decided to work from home today because he's feeling a bit sick, so I haven't had much computer time to catch up with things. So only a quick update for me here. I'll do personals on the other thread.

June 1: EA Active Workout 22 min. + 30 min free step = 52 min.
June 2: EA Active Workout 24 min. + 30 min. walk = 54 min.
June 3: WL Yoga and abs = 45 min.

Jacque9999 06-03-2009 07:24 PM

June 1 - 25 minutes treadmill...starting a new plan to get ready for the mile run/walk in July, 25 minutes Arc Trainer, 1 hours of pilates
June 2 - 50 minutes boot camp.
June 3 - 50 minutes cardio (30 Arc Trainer; 20 Treadmill) and 55 minutes pilates.

Pas de Chaton 06-03-2009 07:27 PM

June 1 - 2 walks, 40 minutes exercise - GOAL MET
June 2 - 2 walks, 30 minutes exercise - GOAL MET
June 3 - 2 walks, 40 minutes exercise - GOAL MET

I am going to modify my goal so that I only do the work-out 6 days a week. I think I'll need a day of rest. But I'll still walk twice on my rest day. :)

glutio 06-03-2009 07:28 PM

Day 3! I got off work a little early to try out an Akido class at the dojo next to the gym I don't really like. A friend of mine is taking some stick fighting class there, and we talked to her after DH and I gym'd yesterday. Her friend teaches the Akido class and said I should come today if I could. Magically, I was able to. I had a *lot* of fun! They also have fitness kickboxing classes several times a week, so I'm thinking about checking one of those out to see if I want to sign up to kick my own ***.

After akido, as much as I was tempted to just go home, I made myself go back to the gym and his the treadmill! I got my full mile in, too!! YAYAYAYAY

SharMar 06-03-2009 09:17 PM

Hey everyone,

Y'all have been so nice and so encouraging!

. . . So I felt it only right that I let y'all know that I've decided to drop out of this challenge, and also the weight loss challenge. I'm still doing well with both my weight loss and my exercise and there's no big issue going on; it's more along the lines learning what works best for me and what doesn't work very well for me.

Thank you all, and I wish all of you well.

gatorgirl6 06-03-2009 09:53 PM

Well, I managed to force myself to go to the gym tonight even though it was the dreaded busy time. I went a little later so it wasn't quite as crowded, but still very busy. I managed to do my bike workout and I found an open elliptical after that. This challenge is keeping me accountable. I love it!

June 3~ 8 miles stationary bike, 2 miles elliptical
Total so far: 28 miles

Glutio and Gator, GREAT job getting to the gym even when it would have been easier not to go!! :carrot: And I agree, Gator, this thread does hold you accountable, which is just what I need, lol!!

SharMar, I dropped you a line on the other thread! Take care, now!

Pas, good idea! If you find you want to change the walking to 6 days a week too, just let me know and I'll change it on the list! I wish I had been as smart as you, last month! If I had, I would have made goal on my walking! I knew I wanted a day off, but I was too nervous about taking it off just yet. As it turned out, I missed one day of walking the entire month and ended up not making that goal because of it. So if you want a day off completely, even though you may end up walking every single day anyway, like I said, just let me know! :)

Ladies, you're doing great! Keep it up!! :cp:

lookingtobehealthy 06-03-2009 10:18 PM

I'm trying to be good and do my exercise right after my hubby leaves for work in the a.m. So far it has been working for the past week or so. It's only tricky on the weekends. Anyway, I was down over a pound this morning, so I feel super about my WW weigh-in tonight. After weigh-in, I am going to splurge a bit and share a DQ Blizzard with my DH since I've been craving it for a few days. YUM! All in moderation, of course!

6/3: 68 minutes (5 miles WAH), 30 min WiiFit (incl. 10 Min SuperHula!!)

Lewisempire 06-04-2009 10:42 AM

6/1- 3 mile walk
6/2- 1 mile walk
6/3- 0.5 mile Nordic track, Weights

good morning girls, I have been trying to keep up with everyone's news, but have been reluctant to post because i was under the influence! Nyquil does crazy things to me, but at least it works! I did manage to force myself into a gentle workout yesterday, otherwise, I slept all day. I am feeling a little better today energywise, NOW if I could just breathe through my nose!! Hahaha!

Crazymama of 4- I have also tried the HIIT routine with my nordic track. It kicks my butt!!! but I burn a lot of calories according to my HR monitor. Good luck with it!

Jaqui D- thankyou for the complement, I have always thought I was really a princess swept away at birth to my humble life I am forced to live now! HAha!

To the rest of you girls, You are rockin! Keep up the good work!

Hey no worries, I keep my self confused often. But thanks! :) I saw your thread to with your pictures and there is definitely a difference. Keep up the good work.

blueridgegirl 06-04-2009 02:06 PM

Hi all,

I've been meaning to jump on this thread but have been busy at work the past few days. My goal for June is to lift weights and do 25 minutes of intense cardio on the elliptical (getting my heart rate up to about 150) three days a week - Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. This means getting my butt into the gym three times a week! On my 'off' days I want to try to be active in other ways: walking, biking, taking a dance class, running in the swimming pool. I lost 6 pounds in May, and I am hoping to lose another 5 or so in June.

Blondie32 06-04-2009 02:31 PM

Alright here it is

June 1 30 min nonstop jog/100 crunches:tread:

June 2 TOM/ BLAAA:frypan:

Squeeze 06-04-2009 04:54 PM

Jacqui D - thanks for your words of encouragement! Managed to make it down the gym again tonight despite the gods conspiring against me
Managed to resist tempting offer of after work drinks with colleagues only to be greeted by hubby who wanted to go out to dinner ...an Italian restaurant of course, so just by walking in the door I probably would have put on 10 lbs:D
Hee hee! Keep up the good work everyone!

glutio 06-04-2009 05:11 PM

DH says he's going to the gym with me again today! He did warn me he didn't know how much he could take and might wuss out, though. I think I'm going to try to get some Wii time in before he gets home!

Well, I just started feeling worn out and I know you're supposed to take a day off at least once a week. The workout I use the most, My Fitness Coach on the Wii, has scheduled two days off for me but I thought I would do Tae Bo on those days. Instead, I'll do Tae Bo on one day and take off the other day.

As for the walks, they are more for the kids than for me. :) I want our walks to be non-negotiable unless it's raining. But we can be creative with it. Today I met a friend for lunch in a nearby city and had to park a few blocks away from her building. I considered that one of my walks. Tomorrow we will be doing our weekly grocery shopping, and if need be I will consider that one of our walks. But mostly we walk in the neighborhood. Nice big hills on every street, my butt will be gone in no time! lol

Hello Ladies,

It feels good to switch things up a bit. It is fun to get back to jogging again. The last time I tried jogging, it made me feel kinda sickly after 30 minutes so the step classes were a great alternative and certainly built up my stamina. It's nice to finish a work out in 30 minutes instead of an hour though.
