Hi chicks, I'm back.
That first week of June was a tough one for me. I'm done with the antibiotics but I felt really hungry while taking them. I know steroids increase your appetite but I didn't know if the antibiotics would? Maybe just a coincidence, but regardless I was hungry! I didn't gain or lose last week, which is fine given the circumstances. I didn't exercise and I ate more than normal (although it was all OP foods except 1 waffle fry) and I still drank my water. I read thru all the posts but don't have time for personals. I slacked big on the housekeeping last week and I have a mountain of clothes and bedding to get washed. Plus the kids will most likely want to hit the pool today. Congratulations to all of you who saw a loss last week!!! Congratulations to those who got into smaller clothes last week!!! Good luck to everyone who needs to get back on the wagon this week!! Those of you who forget to eat make sure you do!!! Everyone drink your water!!! Delphi, put down the diet coke!!! I'll check in later chicks. Enjoy the day!! |
Delphi, with Wii Active, you can turn off lunges and things if you don't want them in your daily plan. I have knee issues too, and I am way far from being able to do a complete and proper lunge. I do what I can, though. I think when I said lunges before, though, I meant squats. The lunges on Day 1 were side lunges. There were a lot of lunges on Day 2, though. I'm still reeling from the squats, though!! OWWW!
My morning weigh-in had me up a little from my last check in to 278.5. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the sushi and drive through from Saturday, though. I'm not too concerned since that's still -5.5 from last Monday morning! As always, though, I'm sure my official WW weigh-in this evening will have a different number thanks to some eating and some clothing. We shall see, though. |
Good Afternoon Chicas :sunny:
Crazymama- Thanks for the encouragement. I believe I was in a rough state of feeling like nothing I did made a difference. But now I am back on. Thanks to you and everyone else on this great board . :congrat: on the sz 12 :woohoo: FSA- Thanks for the advice. I just need to find the time to make a list and stick to it. I did go out and buy some frozen meals to help when I have a late night. BTW I'm allergic to seafood. I would so love to eat fish but sadly I can't :(. Dephi- You're such a motivational speaker. Thanks for the encouraging words ;). I am with you about lunges. My knees are aching just thinking about them. I'd injured my knee when I was a mere lass and paying for it now. I can tell you when a bad thunder storm is coming , which is more then my local weatherman can predict. I hope all is well for everyone else. Keep OP and drink your H2O!!!! Suzy |
Hi chickies :)
Feels like forever since I've been here. Miss ya and hope you all enjoyed the weekend. Happy first day or our new week girls! If you did great last week , keep on truckin' and if not, new week and fresh new day so keep on going. As for me, I had a great time on Saturday. Backtracking a bit, no loss even a gain but I'm in the midst of TOM right now. Can you beleive it? LOL. That totally took me by suprise given what happened to me a week or two ago (when it tormented nearly a week straight and kept coming and going but didnt come fully). Anyhow, towards the tail end of the week (thurs. and fri.) I had a bit of a tummy ache but didn't think much of it. Sat. morning woke up to killer cramps and wondered what was wrong with me and then I see TOM is here, no wonder! It was cloudy and I felt miserable so I was bumming as we planned to go to the beach. Needless to say it cleared up and I got better and said let's go for it and I ended up having a beautiful window of time there cramp free and felt super at the beach. We did lot's of walking and had a great workout. Had a cookout sat. night and made chick. fajitas (yum). It was a really great day. Yesterday I was pretty much laid up the entire day and evening except for a little window of ti me where I got in a short walk with DH. Today is the third day of TOM and no more cramps, yeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaa! Glad to get that behind me and hopefully now that it was a normal cycle it stays the **** away until next month! That explains a lot, that day I was extra hungry last week, the emotional swing, the fluid and the scale behaving strangely! Asta la vista TOM, lol. Planwise, I would call it a pretty good weekend and week. I'm going to stay off the scale a while and just keep trucking. I figure there is no way I can go wrong if I keep at this pace with working out and being OP, I'll move that bugger scale sooner or later. Delphi, I am so glad you took a day to rest and are feeling much better. Regarding the smoking, I quit (cold turkey) on Jan.1 so this is my 6th month. I was here and in the midst of my journey at the time but had gone off last week of Dec. whooping it up with DH on vaca. I have gone on to lose weight but it wasn't easy! From when I quit, I began doing some research on smoking cessation and also on metabolism to spike it up. It's discouraging as all experts and all literature will talk of a gain (even doc. OZ on oprah said you will gain 10 lbs). I started exercising that very day and averaged 5-6 hrs a week (just to get my metab. normally where it was). I f you smoke a pack a day, you need to walk approx. 40 min. a day (at 3.o) every day to just keep your metabolism where it was before. Jan. and Feb. were very frustrating for me and there were plenty of occassions I would burst into tears out of frustration. Then in March I saw things speeding up again (metab. can take many weeks to months to get back to normal) and I had a 6lb. loss that month! Okay enough about me but I just want to say that it is do-able and when the time is right for you and your ready, your ready. Crazymama said it very well (hi sweety, ty too!). There were a lot of things that prompted me to quit (my dad, being on the pulmonary floor in h osp. for months (visiting dad but dad never smoked, he had a massive heart attack) bronchitis, coughing, and just sick of it). It started in my mind and Delphi your on your way.....:). Thank god I had the girls here who really helped me to keep going, (thanks girls ). Crazymama, the first time I quit (for 10 years) I quit drinking too (for about 8months) for reasons you specified. THis time I didn't (though it would of been wise, lol). I always said, if you can quit a day...you can quit 2 days, and so on and so forth. Your both strong and determined young ladies so when the time is right I hope we are all around here to help one another. In the meantime, congratssssssssss on your journey girls and on your exercise and eating healthir and all of your wonderful accomplishments :carrot::carrot:. You girls are rocking it and are a real inspiration. GOd, what a yapper I am, lol  Well, I had catching up to do! ;) Shoot, and I'm running late so going to have to taper the post down. Lene, I am so glad your feeling better! Bravo for maintaining your loss last week..good job :). A big hi to all ladies. I'll catch up with you later on. Have a beautiful day girls. |
Morning girlies!
Back to my usual routine for now, so I can read all the posts and reply to you while I wait for breakfast to go down so that I can do my workout. I am happy to report that I did manage to lose 0.8 lbs for the week (it was a little lower on Friday, but I will take it). I will be so happy once I get out of the 170's though. It seems like I have been here forever and I have not seen anything resembling a 6 in my weight in at least a decade I would say, so it will be exciting for sure. My exercise suffered a bit on the weekend, so now I will try and play catch up all week long, it should be interesting:). Michelle: No worries if you can't reply to everyone, but make sure you keep coming by. I do feel proud of myself when I turn down things that I know are no good for me. I still have to do a lot of practicing in that area because I tend to be a pushover, but I am definitely getting better. Delphi: The Active does have lots and lots of lunges, and they are my least favourite exercise in the world I think LOL. You have the option of skipping an exercise if you can't do it, so don't let it stop you. Also, I used to get knee pain at times when I first started exercising, but now, that problem has resolved pretty much completely, so I would say, listen to your body and do what you can. LOL at the Superman/Rocky thing...I am picturing you dressed as both right now. Janis: 2 lbs loss is great! Don't be discouraged!. House hunting is such an emotional ride, yesterday it was a bit of a low because we realized that the location we had zoomed in might not be the best location after all (the noise might be an issue there), so me and DH had to step back and re-focus a little bit. I am really excited about the possibilities though and I can't wait to start decorating! CMo4: I have my occasional bout of insomnia too, so I know exactly how you feel, except that I have no little kids to look after. Maybe you can all take a nap later hehe. I am in awe that you still got up to do your HIIT, WTG!! Dollypie: You are back on track now, so just keep doing what you are doing! Ms.P: I think one size at a time works best for most. I am doing that and just a couple of pieces at a time. A while ago there was some discussion in a different part of the forum on how some people buy thing in their "ideal" size only to find out that when they get there, their body shape has changed the clothes don't fit or flatter them. I can imagine the disappointment there, so I'd rather not go there. Lene: Glad to see you back! Not gaining is a victory on itself ;) Glutio: 5.5 lbs in a week! that is amazing :D. I am doing the 30 day challenge too, but I missed a day yesterday, hopefully it will let me catch up. I will race you to the end of it! Suzy:  You can do this! FSA: Sounds like you had a lovely weekend even with all your TOM inconveniences. WTG on making the best out of it! Ok, I think I am ready to go exercise now..BBL! |
Official weigh in was this morning of 298 so a loss of 3lbs this week. Was hoping for more my first week but considering my cycle started this morning, I'm not too surprised.
Finding it very difficult to want to stay on track today. All I want to do is crawl into bed with that new brownie batter blizzard that seems to be advertised every 5 minutes. Had planned on going to Target this afternoon but with their in house temptation of Starbucks, I think Ill send the husband instead. I'm much to weak to pass up sweets right now... Here's hoping this day ends quickly and with very little damage done :) |
Whew! Just finished my Strength training and now, I know I'd give Rocky a run for his money. I totally changed my goals for the My Fitness Coach to focus completely on upper body strength and I am going to try the Active tomorrow to replace my hour of cardio w/the My Fitness Coach tomorrow and see how that goes. I think next month will be dedicated to up'ing my strength training and adding an ab workout in and still keep a little cardio going w/ the ol' treadmill. Anywho, let me catch up...
NSM ~ Well :congrat: on the .8 drop, that is a positive and not a negative, so it's definitely something to get excited about. No worries dear, those 160's are right around the corner. at the superman/rocky combo! Yeah, my knees were really bad in the beginning. I remember trying to jog on the treadmill and my knees absolutely killing me for two whole weeks afterwards, but it would seem these days, I still get a little inflammation, but nothing like it was before. FSA ~ Ah you lucky girl, already dealing with TOM. I wish I was to. At least it's almost over with and then you have a clear go at the month. :bravo: for sticking in there and having a good time regardless of TOM. You're my hero! ;) Sounds like you guys had a wonderful time this weekend. I'm so envious of you and your stories of the beach. I can't remember the last time I actually saw a beach. At any rate, you keep up the good work and have yourself a great day...oh and thanks for the advice/encouragement on the smoking. I appreciate it. :) Suzy ~ Hey sounds like you are doing exceptionally better this week. Keep that positivity flowing dear, it will work wonders. Now would ya mind letting me know if it's gonna rain any day this week? Take care dear! :) Glutio ~ Now that's great news. I'm gonna implement the Active into my routine tomorrow, so I'll let you guys know how it goes. Hey, good luck with that weigh in tonight, I'm sure you will do just fine...just remember, regardless, you have been doing an excellent job with your routines and staying on plan. Plus, expect a higher number given the time of day and the clothes you have on. Good luck! :) Lene ~'s! Good to see you back. Good luck with catching up on the housework. Look at it this way, you will burning loads of extra calories as well and boosting the metabolism. Thrilled to hear you are feeling better sweetie...now you have yourself an awesome day. Jacqui ~ You must be busy today. I hope your eating and having a great day chicky! I thought of you while I was strength training today and used your new motto. ;) Thanks! UROCKMOM & LE ~ Where are you girls? We miss ya! :) :) :) Atlgirl ~ Three pounds is great! :carrot: :carrot: Don't you let all your hard work go to waste. Three pounds is a lot of extra weight you are NO LONGER carrying around. You are doing great..you hang in there. MsP ~ One size at a time, sounds good to me as well. I'm still deciding on whether or not to even buy anything. I have so much stuff that I would love to get into, plenty of it actually. Keep up the good work. :) ...and  to all the rest of you gals. I do hope everyone is having a great day! :) |
I weighed in this morning with another .2 loss. That puts me at 2lbs for the week. That's great motivation to keep this up.
