Delphi, I know you have children, so this may not be an option, but is there any way you can fit in like a 20-min power nap in the afternoon so that you won't feel so drained? And btw, I was teasing about the 3:45; we ALL know that you wake up WAY TOO EARLY in the morning!!! I don't know how you do it!

Delphi 06-06-2009 08:12 PM

Jacqui ~ I've tried that, but it makes me where I can't fall asleep at night. Then it's eleven o clock before I can even fall asleep then I wake up and feel like poo in the morning. Just doesn't work. But at least have Sundays now. I can sleep in, if I can! I think I've just been overly exerting myself this week, so hopefully taking the day off tomorrow will re-energize me. :)

Well it's about that time now. Have a great evening Jacqui! :)

gatorgirl6 06-06-2009 11:51 PM

Lewisempire- Thanks for the facebook comment on my picture. That is me in high school. It is actually one of my favorite pictures. That is essentially my goal weight. I have that yellow shirt hanging in my closet waiting for me. I can't wait to be that small again, or hey even smaller. :)

susiemartin 06-07-2009 05:44 AM

Morning all :)
Today is my weigh in day & I'm down 5lbs. this week :carrot:

Bet it slows down to 1 -2 lbs a week from here on out.

Hope you all have a great day!

Come on over anytime...I love my new grill....and thanks for the compliment. What's funny is all my exs...including my ex-husband are so different in so many ways, but they all have something similar about them. Sounds weird but I guess I just haven't found the one who "has it all". Variety is good!!!

Delphi

I too am a smoker and would love to quit. I know it is coming soon as I feel better with my new healthy lifestyle and that I would feel even better without it. It's getting harder and harder to smoke anywhere, so in a way, it is already started for me.

You have a problem with the diet coke, well I like to drink alcohol on occasion and when I do, I want to smoke...so I know I will need to give BOTH up when the time comes. I did quit for a few months after my father died a few years ago of pancreatic cancer. I knew the time had come, HOWEVER, as soon as I would have a drink, I wanted and would have a cig. I thought I could be a "social" smoker, but I couldn't. Once I started to cheat, that was it!!! Went right back to my old habits.

And one more thing...I used to have the same problem sleeping as you. I would get in bed at 7-7:30 and sometimes fall asleep right away and then wake up say around midnight and lay there for hours. Or I wouldn't fall asleep right away, doze here and there but be up at 2 or 3 for the night....I was never getting a good nights sleep.

Now that has all changed. I have more energy and am able to stay up and out of bed till 10pm...give or take. And when I go to bed, I fall right asleep and stay asleep all night long. And I am getting up every weekday between 4:30 -5:30am.

Anyway....sorry I rambled. Maybe when we are both ready to quit the cigs...we can do it together.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. My highlight was my yard sale...lots of junk gone and almost $300 in my pocket.

Good Morning Girlies!!!! :carrot: And how is everyone this fine Sunday morning? I hope wonderful!!!

Glutie~ Woo hoo!! Congrats on the loss! Isn't it great to see numbers on the scale you haven't seen in a long while? You're doing wonderful! :cp: 6.5 lbs in a week! You should be darn proud of yourself! I know I am! :D

Delphi~ Girl, I thought I was being good waking up at 6:00!! You're the Queen of Early Risers!!! Having 4 kiddos myself, I can honestly say that I'm amazed! I don't know how you do it girl! Congrats on the 16s!!! That is so freakin' awesome!!! Oh my heavens, Juniors? I haven't set foot in the Jr's dept in ages! And low rise? Woot! You sexy thang you!! I've never been brave enough to try it--not with my lovely c/s pooch! ;) I bet before you know it, those baggy 16's will be hitting the road and you'll be slidin' on some 14's! You're kickin' bootay girl! Hey, how ya feeling today? I hope better! :)

WormWoodDoll~ Congrats on making it to Onederland!!!!! :celebrate: You CAN make it to 170 by Summer! And you WILL make your goals! Your dreams WILL come true, just stay focused and keep at it girl and we'll be here cheering you on all the way! :cheer: Just got a glimpse of your progress pics and WOW! You have come a long way baby!!! The difference in your midsection is amazing! You're on your way!!! :)

Jacqui~ Aww, you're so sweet! You are totally going to be there sooner than you think! I KNOW it! You're doing such an amazing job hun! :) Picked up some probiotic yogurt (generic because I'm too cheap to buy the Activia ;)) yesterday and we'll see if it helps any. I've been having the bloating, etc. from the increased fiber and have had to start taking Gas-ex just to relieve the bloating (geez, I can't believe I'm telling the whole world I'm gassy! :o ) so if it helps with at least that I'll consider it a success! Have you eaten breakfast yet? Hmm? :D

Tummy~ Yay for TOM hittin' the road! I always see a drop the days following his departure, I bet you will too! Here's to a brand new week--TOM free!!! :carrot:

Gatorgirl~ I think it's a great idea to have a goal outfit hanging up in the closet! I have a lot of them that are totally not in style in anymore and I won't wear in public again, but to be able to just get into them and look good will be wonderful! Keep up the great work and you'll be back into your goal clothes in no time! :)

Susie~ Yay!! Congrats on the 5 lbs down! That's wonderful! Keep it up girlie!! :)

Jacque~ Oh you lucky girl you! Congrats on the $300!!! I soooo wish we could have done the yard sale this weekend, but ah well, another time. Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do! Like I said, I had tried and tried in the past, but with having roommates that smoked and friends who smoked as well...it never stuck. Once I was out of that situation and living with a non-smoker (my hubby) and living in a new place where I didn't have my old friends around, it helped a lot! I did, however, live in Reno--you could smoke in the grocery store there! So it was tough to get away from smoking. Once I quit though, it turned my stomach to be around smokers--something I never thought would happen. Now I won't lie, I've smoked since, but mainly during insanely stressful situations or when I went out with the girls and we were drinking and someone happened to have one, but I tell ya, I won't ever pick it up again as a pack a day habit. I know you and Delphi will quit one day, if you have the will power and drive to eat right and exercise--quitting smoking will follow. :)

Well ladies, I didn't get a single bit of gardening done yesterday. :( Instead, I spent most of the day doing something I swore I would not do. I helped hubby clean the garage. And although I vowed not to help him (because I've done the rest of the purging and organizing throughout the house alone), I had to. I mean, he just can't get started on his own. He moves all the stuff into the driveway and then just stands there staring at the empty garage. Who knows what's going through his mind?? Maybe he's trying to figure out where to put stuff, maybe he's envisioning his dream garage, maybe he's just surveying his kingdom I dunno...all I do know is that he doesn't clean or purge anything!!! So, it's pretty much purged, besides his 'workbench' which is piled high with stuff he needs to go through. Now we just need to take stuff to the recycling drop off and Goodwill...as God as my witness we will park my van in there tonight!!!! ;)

I hope that we get some gardening done today. While we were out buying some shelves for the garage, hubby went nutso and started buying more plants! Like I don't have enough to put in the ground!! (did I mention my mil gave me a giant planter FULL of lillies? Yep, still not planted) So, as long as the weather cooperates, we need to get busy on that!

Official WI and measurement day today...and despite my weight stalling out at the beginning of the week (seems like I do that every week!), I did manage to lose 3.6 lbs since last Sun (2.2 lbs since June 1st) and 4 inches. That brings my total inches lost since Jan. to 33.25!! :carrot:

Today is my scheduled day off of exercise, not sure what I'm going to do with myself! I think I'm going to bust out the AE Active and see what it's like. :)

Well ladies, I better run. I've had a lovely hour and a half all to myself and I'm not sure how much longer it will last. ;) I hope everyone has a fantastic day!! Be sure to be good to yourselves and smile and of course...

Drink Your Water!! :D

Delphi 06-07-2009 09:26 AM

:wave:Good Morning Ladies:wave:

Anyone notice anything? Well it's 7:46am here in the music city! That's right! Went to bed at 10 (only because batman was on, and my six yr. old had never seen the original one before, so we sat up and watched it) and then I did get up at two, but went right back to sleep and finally got up at seven. I feel good, but a bit groggy. Plus today is the day off. But after the week I had and feeling the exhaustion, I know I NEED this day off, so I can get back to the top of my game.:lifter::lifter::lifter:

So hopefully, it will actually be 90 degrees today, like they say it will and I can lay out in the sun and relax while the boys play in the water. Don't really have to much else to do. I told myself to let it all go today and just concentrate on doing as little as possible. I guess that means, I'll have a ton of stuff to do tomorrow, which isn't a bad thing by any means.

I guess that's about it. Tomorrow is my official weigh in, I'm at 211.2 today, so we shall see. Oh my gosh girls, Onederland is getting so close and I have you all to thank for that.   Now, I just need something to reward myself with when I hit it as this will be me hitting my first mini goal complete when I hit it. I've also decided that I'll do full body progress pics here with you gals when I hit it as well. So do you guys have any suggestions for a Onederland reward?

Now for personals...

Crazymomma ~ Hey you! Hey you are doing great by getting up at six and I know you feel so much better as well, getting your workout in and all that good jazz, before your day "really" starts. :bravo: I'm doing fine thanks. I think I just needed to rest my body. Go all lazy so my body and play catch up and then I'll engage the hyperdrive come Monday. I heard that's really good anyways. Not only does your body need rest, but it's just another way of tricking your body as well. So hopefully, when I get back to my workout, it will be a great workout where I have to work a little harder. :congrat: on all those pounds and inches just melting off of you. You're doing a fabulous job dear. You keep going! Good luck getting all your flowers out, I hope it isn't too awfully hot out there.

Jacque ~'s ! Well it is nice, that I'm not the only one. I was starting to feel like the odd man out. I think you're right though. The further we become more involved in our new lifestyles, the harder it becomes to smoke etc. Hopefully, one day SOON, we can chuck those smokes together jacque. Because at the end of the day, we both want to be healthy and be both know those extras are NOT healthy, and to really, truly accomplish our goals, we will have to quit and quit for good. I really needed to read your post and thankful you shared it with me. For me, I really need the extra support I get from you gals. Thank you soo much Jacque!

susiemartin ~ :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: on those five pounds! You've had an amazing week. One suggestion though. I notice you followed your triumph with a negative. i.e. I lost all this weight, BUT i bet it will slow down. Allow yourself to enjoy your victory honey, it will take you to new heights. Enjoy today and try not worry about the week ahead of you. Or simply say, this next week WILL be another good week as well. :) The more positive you are during this journey, the MORE positive results you will see in all aspects of your life.

Alright ladies, I wish you guys a superawesomespectacular day ahead and ermm...may the force be with all of you! ;)

Oh and drink your WATER and remember those smiles!!!!xxxx

Jacqui_D 06-07-2009 09:36 AM

Susie, :congrat: on the 5 lbs down!!! WOW!!! That is fantastic!! It probably will slow down, yes, but that's natural and not because of your efforts, so just keep it up, girlie!! :cheer:

Delphi, I noticed that you weren't the first one here this morning!! Yay, you got to sleep in! :yay: Good for you! Don't forget to eat! :D I'm glad you're going to take the day off. I agree that you seemed worn out and you could use the day off. Above all things, you don't want to injure yourself or burn out. I'll have to think about the ONEderland reward, because it's got to be good!! That's a big milestone--to say goodbye to the 200's forever!! And it's right around the corner for you!! :trampo:

Joci, you sound like my daughter. She always dates boys who are so different from each other, and like you, I think she's just looking for a guy who has it all! I think those are pretty rare!

CMof4, I hope the yogurt helps with the bloating. It should. Your description of your DH cleaning out the garage is hilarious! :lol3:

Gator, I haven't seen your pic, but it's smart to have an article of clothing to shoot for. I have this one black swimsuit. It's been sitting in my dresser drawer for years! If I ever get into it again, I will be thrilled! Of course, it's too old to wear, the elastic is probably shot after all these years, but I just want to fit into it once!

Good morning to all of our ladies! Today is the last day of the first whole week in June, so let's finish it strong!! :carrot:

I attached photos of the 'goal outfit.' The one LE had commented on was the one with the bricks in the background. I added the one with the blue background because it shows the outfit a little better. These are my senior pictures from high school. I am about 150-155 in these pics. My goal weight is 140-145. I also have a bikini from senior year that I would love to wear again. It is sitting on my dresser as a daily reminder.

Odysseygurl 06-07-2009 01:59 PM

gatorgirl6~ You asked a question about water before. A person should drink .5-1.0 oz of water per pound of body weight. As a general rule I go for a gallon a day. I wouldn't use tea, but crystal light or koolaid are fine as long as they are sugar free. You should try to strive for plain water over the flavorings. I used to reward myself with flavored water after drinking a whole 32 oz bottle of plain water. It's a good motivator when you're looking at 4-5 bottles a day.

Hope this helps everyone confused on the water issue. Always bring a big water bottle to the gym so that you will drink more. I almost always get in a whole half gallon while I'm at the gym.

Keep it up everyone. One week down, let's keep it up next week too!

gatorgirl6 06-07-2009 02:37 PM

Odyssey- Thanks for the advice. I normally do about 50% flavored water. I dont like it to be flavored while I'm at the gym or just after. I normally use the flavorings at dinner and sometimes after. The crystal light is good at night when you want a snack or treat. It gives you the sweet that you want, without actually having any calories. :)

leigh 06-07-2009 02:43 PM

Hello, thread! It's been awhile since I checked in but hopefully I can do better this coming week.

:congrat: susiemartin. What a great affirmation of your effort!

I see several of y'all talking about goal clothing. One of my old faves is a mock sorority T-shirt. My friends and I each made one back in college and wore them frequently. The letters spell FAB. It's so dorky, but I can't wait to be able to wear that shirt again without looking like I had to be sewn inside!

I'll get there one day at a time...I weighed in this morning at 220 even, down 2.4 pounds for the week and 11.6 total since I started May 10th.

Newshinyme 06-07-2009 04:49 PM

Hi Girlies!
I was so mad at my last post getting lost that I hadn't been back....Just kidding!
I've actually been quite busy all Friday and Saturday and hadn't had a chance to come and sit down to chat wit you. Still looking for a new place to live and the agent is keeping me busy! LOL.
Good news is that I managed to stay mostly OP for yesterday and I plan on doing the same thing today so that the scale can show me some love tomorrow morning for my official WI.
I have to get ready to look at a few open houses today, but I will be back tomorrow to read through the gazillion posts I missed for the weekend :).

Happy Sunday!

Gator, your pics are so pretty, and yes, I can see why you'd like to wear that top again. It looks great on you! :)

Leigh, :congrat: being over 2 lbs down!! Great job!! Keep going! You'll get into that FAB shirt yet, lol! :D

NSM, great job staying OP! :cheer3: Good luck on the WI tomorrow! :crossed:

Odyssey, I had heard the 1/2 oz for each lb of body weight, but I would be wary of drinking 1 oz per lb of body weight. I'd be afraid I'd be weighed down with water! I don't know if that's possible, but it's something Delphi and I had wondered about before. We had both been up to 144 oz per day and had hit a stall, so we both cut back. I went too low, though, to 72 oz, so I'm shooting for 96 oz now. :coffee2:
