Rowenna 05-01-2009 12:08 AM

My name is Rowenna. I'm a 20 year old college student. This month is going to be extra challenging for me, as I am finishing the school year, moving, finding and hopefully starting a new job, doing some traveling, and all around upheaving my life. I hope this will help me keep some stability.

#1 Plan- I record my food on Fitday, staying between 1000-1500 calories. I try to eat what I want, but in moderation, so that I can maintain this as a lifestyle.

#2 Exercise- Something every day! Strength training at least 3x/week, cardio at least 5x/week, hopefully more.

#3 Relaxation- I will go somewhere outside, away from electronics, and spend some time by myself, reading, writing, thinking... just concentrating on myself.

#4- Water- 4 (16.9oz) water bottles/day

#5 de-clutter- I will be moving this month, so my de-clutter plan is to pack everything neatly and in an organized manner!

#6 Pampering- Put on a nice outfit and do my hair at least once a week.

#7 Extra area- I want to spend at least one hour per day on my writing.

#8 Motto- We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint.

#9 Goal- To reach my final goal and maintain! That is a loss of 3lbs in May, to reach my final goal of 105 lbs! I also just want to feel good about my body, especially my middle.

#10 Reward- I will treat myself to a professional massage once I have maintained my 105lbs for a month. And maybe a really cute bathing suit!

Weight: 108 ( -3lbs)
Love Handles: 33 (-3 inches please!)
Waist: 25
Hips: 33

Hi, My name is Tori. I have been working on losing weight ever since having my little boy back in Sept 07. I had some weight to lose before then too but I have finally gotten serious due to the fact that I am getting married July 3rd of this year. :yay:

#1 PLAN: I count calories and journal my food and exercise. I try to stay between 1200 and 1300 calories per day.

#2 EXERCISE: I'm going to start with a min of 300 minutes a week and at least 5 days a week. I usually run on the treadmill or use my Wii, which I love. I also do the 30DS and go on hikes and runs outside with my little boy and/or dogs.

#3 RELAXATION: My relaxation is a glass of wine on the weekend, well sometimes 2 or 3 :) I'm also going take time for a nice hot bath.

#4 WATER: I'm going to start slow on this one with 32 oz a day. This is by far one of the hardest for me, I just don't drink a lot of anything during the day. I will work on this over time.

#5 DECLUTTER: We just bought a house 1 year ago so its really not that cluttered, for this month I would like to work on getting all our old clothes bagged and dropped off at the donation site.

#6 PAMPER and GROOMING: ooohh I like this one. Towards the end of the month a girlfriend and I are planning a girls day shopping and grooming day that includes Thai Food, Pedicures, Eye Brow Waxing, New Clothes for our Vegas trip in June, and Drinks out in the evening before more shopping. :carrot: This will be soooooooo much fun.

#7 EXTRA AREA: All my extra time right now will be focused on last minute wedding details and spending time with my one year old.

#8 MOTTO/MANTRA: Don't know if its really a motto or anything but I am really doing this slow and making good lifestyle changes. I will never tell someone i am on a DIET :p (horrible word) I really want to be in better shape overall.

#9 GOALS: I would like to lose 5 lbs and be at 133 by the end of the month. I would also love to fit into a pair of jeans hanging in my closet that have not fit me for the past 5 years.

#10 REWARD: My reward will also be my shopping trip at the end of the month.

Primm 05-01-2009 01:00 AM

Hi chickies! I'm Ruth, and I work full-time, study part-time and have 4 teenage sons. But thanks to 3FC I now make time for ME - and 25lb later it's going pretty well. I have more energy and can do more without getting exhausted - gotta love that.

#1. PLAN. I'm calorie-counting, keeping between 1700-1800 per day. When I slow down I'll cut that back, but right now it's working for me. I use a Polar weigh loss HRM to record my calories from food and exercise.

#2. EXERCISE 300 minutes per week - C25K starting again (I haven't run for 2 months). 200 squats workout. 200 situps workout. 100 pushups workout. And my BL DVD 3 times per week.

#3. RELAXATION. I have a rubbish bath - too shallow and too short. So I'll treat myself to a neck and shoulders massage at my shopping centre once a week for $15.

#4. WATER. 2 bottles per day, that's 1500ml (50oz). Not perfect, but better than I'm doing now.

#5. DECLUTTER YOUR HOME. Not too bad at the moment. Hubby is a neat freak, I could be better. I will do my wardrobe though, to make space for the gorgeous new clothes I'm going to have to buy.

#6. PAMPER/GROOMING I will cleanse and moisturise every morning and night. I know it doesn't sound like much, but I don't do it at the moment, and I need to.

#7. BUDGET. I will have saved $1000 by the end of the month.

#8. MOTTO/MANTRA " No man ever woke up on the top of the mountain; he awakened one day and started his climb."

#9. GOALS. Current weight - 85.9 kg (189.4 lb). Goal weight by the end of May - 81.9 kg (180.6 lb).

#10. REWARD. A full body massage. I love my massages, I don't have them often enough, but that's going to change. Provided I keep up my end of the bargain, of course.

Angie's Goals

Yikes! I feel tardy! :o But it's 1 am here and I have to get to bed. Here's a super quick intro and list of goals, subject to ammendment later on in the next day or two as I have a lot of work to do...

I'm Angie from northern Ohio. I'm a 38-year-old married mom to 4 girls, ages 17, 17-step, 3, and 2. I run a busy house and work full-time plus overtime as a medical transcriptionist from home. I've been fat since puberty and have lost crazy amounts of weight only to put it all back on plus some. This is almost my highest weight I've ever been. I was 325 at the end of my last pregnancy. I am just so dang tired from carrying all this extra weight around and I'm sick and tired of being fat. It's keeping me from being more active and interactive in life and here's my beginning, right now! I have a blog I started, linked on the left there, as well as my Fitday. ((Okay, Angie, you said this was gonna be super quick! :dizzy:)) Onto the goals!

1. ~DAILY HEALTHY EATING PLAN~
  • Stay within 1500-1800 calories
  • Eat at least 5 fruits and vegetables
  • No fast food, "celebrating", or taking days off
  • Lean protein and whole grains
  • High fiber, low fat foods

2. ~EXERCISE~
At least 30 minutes a day by walking trails at the park, bootcamp videos, elliptical, dancing, playing at the park with the little kids including chasing and climbing. I want to check out the sit-ups and etc challenges too when I get time. I will definitely do sit-ups regardless and lifting my free weights (I have a tried and true routine there).

3. ~RELAXATION~
This is a hard one for me. I never get enough time to do anything! But I enjoy a postcard exchange group as my hobby - it's called Postcrossing, check it out online if you like to send and receive postcards from around the world. I also will vow to get 6-8 hours of sleep in because I never do. That will help me tremendously!

4. ~WATER~
Never a problem here. I always drink at least 64 oz a day, usually a lot more! I will stick to that. I love water!

5. ~DECLUTTERING~
I need this in a bad way and I'm no stranger to FlyLady. I think it's time to make that journal and shine my sink!

6. ~PAMPER/GROOMING~
A hair cut and a pedi-mani every month! I neglect myself far too much and it needs to change. I'm tired of being frump-girl.

7. ~BUDGET~
I have money that goes into a savings account each paycheck, which I promptly withdraw and use. I'm not going to touch it.

8. ~MOTTO~
"Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment."
Bring on that discipline Bootcamp Ladies!

9. ~GOALS~
Weight-wise I'm starting out at 312 lbs and by the end of May will be in the 200s, leaving the 300s behind forever. By the end of June I will reach 290. By the end of July I will reach 280. By the end of August I will have lost 40 lbs forever. This is do-able. I will do it!

10. ~REWARD~
At the end of summer I will reward myself with a sweet new tattoo on my leg to augment my phoenix.

 Let's do it.

Couch 05-01-2009 03:21 AM

I’m joining in because I’m feeling like I need a change, and a challenge!

1. Food – Continue with calorie approximating, BUT sit down and calculate my calories every week.
2. Exercise – 300min per week of high intensity exercise. More if less intense.
3. Relax – This one I am good at! When I started focussing on losing weight, I gave myself permission to entertain myself however I wanted to, and if that meant staying in and watching an entire season of Veronica Mars in a weekend, so be it.
4. Water – really not an issue for me. I think I would have trouble drinking more water than I do now. I get at least 3L a day.
5. Declutter – This is a big one for me. I’m going to organise my drawers and my shoes, and donate/toss at least one big bag every weekend. I’m also going to get rid of my extra furniture.
6. Pamper – I need and hair cut and my eyebrows done.
7. Other – I need to sleep more, so I’m going to turn off the tv at 10 every night, and log my sleep.
8. Mantra – Fake it till you make it.
9. Goal – 105kg. Down 3.5kg from today.
10. Reward – Running shoes, though I may think of something more frivolous when the time comes.

may bootcamp challenge

I'm Megan, and I'm a 24 year old Australian currently living in London. I turn 25 next wednesday and since 25 has been my lucky number for as long as I remember, I've decided that this will be a good year! I'm going to make it a good year. I've been overweight since I was 14, and I don't want to be the fat bridesmaid at my sister's wedding in feb next year. It'll be back in Australia in the height of summer, which is always difficult for someone who doesn't look good in skimpy clothing!

#1. Plan - recording EVERYTHING I consume and counting calories on fitday - keeping between 1200 and 1500

#2. EXERCISE I will follow the times health club plan everyday this month, plus some fun on the wii fit for a little bit extra.

#3. Relaxation - I will do some yoga weekly, and practice my breathing for five minutes before I go to sleep every night.

#4. Water - I drink at least 3 litres everyday anyway! I am always thirsty.

#5. Declutter your home - I have just moved to a new country - so I only have a suitcase full of my things! But I do have a shopping problem - so I WILL NOT buy any more clothes until the end of May. I will prevent clutter.

#6. Pamper/Grooming - currently job hunting - I will reward myself with a manicure when I get a job - until then I will be doing home facials, manicures and pedicures.

#7. Something extra - Having no job, I will be focusing on my budget! That and putting some serious thought into what I'm going to do with my future. Also I really want to give up smoking!

#8. Motto/Mantra - Patience is a virtue! A cliche I know, but I have a tendency to focus on the near future, and if I can't see the end result I give up! not this time though...:smug:

#9. Goals - 5kg (about 12 pounds i think), and hopefully close to a size 14 (12 US) by the end of the month.

#10. REWARD - a gym membership (if I have a job by then, that is)

Starting at 94kg - 209lb
goal 89kg - 196lb

Satria 05-01-2009 07:17 AM

Hi I'm Satria. I am 29 years old, married and have one 8yo son. I work part time and homeschool my son also. My husband is also trying to lose weight so I'm doing this for him and for me :D

#1. PLAN. Calorie counting here. I will eat about 1500 calories per day, upping it to 2000 on the weekends. I'm also trying to increase my protien and lessen my carbs plus eat more veggies, but I'm not really tracking that.

#2. EXERCISE 300 minutes per week - I'm doing the 100 pushups and 200 situps challenges. I will either do a workout DVD or bike to work (3mi each way) every morning. Also my husband likes to take walks and my son likes to ride bikes so I will do these throughout the week - shooting for 5x.

#3. RELAXATION. I want to spend 15 min per day in prayer and meditation, and also read a chapter of a book every day. I also will take a bath or do a clay mask once per week.

#4. WATER. 54 oz per day - that is 2 of my water bottles.

#5. DECLUTTER YOUR HOME. I've done Flylady before, and tweaked it into my own routine. I will choose a room each day to spend a few extra minutes decluttering and sprucing up.

#6. PAMPER/GROOMING I want to get in the habit of bodybrushing again. I want to keep my legs shaven. Also I will make an appointment for an eyebrow wax sometime this month.

#7. OTHER. We're in the process of adopting, and that requires lots of paperwork. So I will work on that every day. If I am caught up, I will read some adoption literature to prepare myself.

#8. MOTTO/MANTRA Make time. You can do this. You are worth it!

#9. GOALS. Current weight - 225. I'd like to get under 200 by the end of summer so I'll shoot for 7 lbs for May - that will be 218.

#10. REWARD. Shopping trip on Etsy! :)

maryshady 05-01-2009 07:57 AM

I just spent about 15 minutes writing up my post and then I lost it!

I would love to be part of this challenge so I will post my story and goals tomorrow since I have to go to work now.

Can't wait to get to know you all.

JennyRaye 05-01-2009 08:00 AM

I'm Jen, a 45 (edited, because apparently, I don't know how old I am) yo mother of 3 (19, 16, 6) and wife of 24 years to my best friend. I don't work outside our home as I home educate the two youngest, our oldest is in college.

My plan

#1. :book2: Plan :book2: My plan is to count calories. I'll be eating between 1200-1300 calories a day and will keep a notebook of what I eat and it's caloric value. NO colas, cakes, cookies, ice cream, candy, chips

#2. :trampo: EXERCISE :trampo: Minimum of 300 min/week. Elliptical, strength training, dvds, and My Fitness Coach on the Wii

#3. :yoga: Relaxation :yoga: Knitting night out with the girls once a week.

#4. :beach: Water :beach: Min 64 oz a day

#5. :woohoo: Declutter your home - :woohoo: I need to get back in the Flylady routine, or at least something similar. The house always falls apart during the school year, but we're winding down to our summer schedule now, so I'll have the time to get a handle on things.

#6. :cheer: Pamper/Grooming :cheer: This one I have trouble with, I'm just not all that into pampering myself. So, I'm going to take the lead from Flylady here and will dress all the way down to my shoes each day, instead of running around in sweats for several hours a day. Oh yeah, and I'm in desperate need of a haircut.

#7. :dizzy: Extra area to work on :dizzy: This month--handwashing and storing all our winter woolies--sweaters, blankets, scarves, etc.

#8. :yay: Motto/Mantra :yay: - My mantra is based on the following: The simple fact is that you can change your life by changing your mind. Nothing is impossible for the willing mind. We all have the power to gain control of our lives, reach our goals, and live our dreams. The challenge is locating, nurturing, and believing in your ability to do so.......Jillian Michaels

Change my thinking...change my actions...change my life

#9. :write: Goals :write: 157--my 10% loss milestone by the end of May

#10. :balloons: REWARD :balloons: Yarn or a book :bravo:

2behealthy 05-01-2009 08:07 AM

Hello Everyone! I'm Lori and I am Mama to 2 wonderful boys ages 13 and 11. I found out I have diabetes in February and have been trying to make many lifestyle changes since then. I have been lurking around for a while as I need support to do this and I don't have much of that around here. I'm hoping joining this challenge will be just what I need.

For my part in this I will be counting calories and carbs and exercising 30-45 minutes a day at least 5 times a week. I think I already drink enough water and as it gets warmer here I am sure I will drink more.

I have already tackled cleaning the foods I don't need from my kitchen and put a box out on the curb last week. I will be working on getting my house organized, especially the paperwork that threatens to overtake me.

My goal for this month is to lose 10 pounds. Might be too much, but I want to at least try. I would love to see the 230's!

McKenziesmomma 05-01-2009 11:05 AM

Okay my 10 objectives for boot camp are...

#1 - I count calories and split them between 3 meals evenly. I snack on fresh veggies and fruits as needed throughout the day.

#2 - 3 scheduled hours a day, but must get in 2 hours at least. I do all kinds of things and always mix it up, lots of boot camp style Jillian stuff though ;)

#3 - I am going to add in yoga at least 3 days a week and will give myself a long, relaxing bath for every day that I am perfectly on my boot camp goals.

#4 - At least 4 bottles water daily.

#5 - For the house I just want to stick to my cleaning routine no matter how intense work gets. I have yet to learn how to work from home and not neglect everything else.

#6 - I have scheduled 2 hours a week (broken into 2 days) to just be a girl again! I will also get a new pamper product each week that I can stay with my goals here perfectly.

#7 - My optional area is sticking to a work schedule and not working around the clock! I have the schedule, now it's time to put some limits on my work and stick to that time frame only.

#8 - I want to get as close to under 200 as possible before my Ohio trip in July and I want to fit into my shorts comfortable without feeling like a lard butt  I am not setting specific weight goals, will just follow the plan and see what happens each week.

#9 - I have rewards based on percentages of my highest weight lost. I have not set them exactly yet  but am thinking on it. I am close to the 10% goal so need to come up with something soon.

#10 - Motto (okay I'm out of order with my numbers!) is JUST SHOW UP! That means no skipping workouts, i have to at least show up and try my best no matter how I feel. So important for me right now!

OKay, for my montly reward I decided to give myself 1 point for each of these objectives achieved every day, for a total of 10 possible each day. At the end of the month, I will give myself $10 for every 100 points I earn, and I can spend it on whatever I want or save it up to go with the next month's points.
