CW: 203.2
GW: 198.2

bah as if i will get there.

feeling VERY demotivated right now. as stupid as this is gonna sound here goes.

there is a new dessert being advertised in ENGLAND called Paula.

Paula is a cow, yes a cow.

the advert starts with that line. needless to say i am being teased a little at work, and im feeling self conscious and right now i wish i wasnt called paula.

why dont these companies think about the consequences of their actions?

i feel humiliated.

Oh paula, I am laughing but I can understand how that sucks.
To be honest I was a farm last week with my son's class and another mom and I were talking about how beautiful cows were. I'm sure that doesn't help any... but it's true.

smart words from a good friend, "chin up.... you'll feel better soon."
you are beautiful and smart and funny and delightful.

Hm. Ok, please take this in the spirit of support it's meant! I think you're overreacting. It's just a name. It's not you. It has nothing to do with you and it's no reflection on you. Even the fact that it's a cow means nothing.

Seriously. I just watched a movie where the main character (who is a cop killing prostitute) bears my name. Should I write a nasty email to the producers of the movie because of that?

My cousin is named Elsie. In the US, Elsie the Cow is the symbol for Borden Dairy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elsie_the_Cow). Should she be all upset because of this?

I do understand ... I really DO ... that people are teasing you. But that's about THEM ... not about the company. And NOT about you. So the next time someone teases you about it ... look them straight in the eye and say very seriously "So are you calling me a cow?" and watch them back down.

.

Awww Paula, I feel for you. I hate being teased about anything, and surely wouldn;t be happy if there was a cow called Miriam!!!
Good for you for sending the email - curious to know what response you'll get!

Whenever I nursed my babies my husband called me Elsie. I have to say it bugged me a bit.

Well done Theresia!!

As this challenge started yesterday and I had a tidy loss this morning - I'm starting with yesterday's weight if that's allowed.

Welcome newbies!!!

Betsi - we'll see you on Friday, if it's what you need to do good for you for sticking to it!

Darby - I'm so jealous of your trip! I think I would go nuts in a restaurant if I could have more then a salad and pasta!

Paula - I understand it's annoying but you can't let it bug you. Just tell anyone to sod off and be done with it. The less you let it bother you the less people are going to say anything.

I love how much I've seen some of the regulars weights dropped since I joined these challenges!!

I'm at 218 today, bloat ick from over doing it Mon/Tuesday seems to be gone.

I started #4 at 237. Not nearly as impressive as Josephine but still 19lbs less!
