Way to go MotherM Keep it up

Sonja- yeah that is a burrrrrr .....although I'm sure you need a bigger word for -9. Stay away from the PB pretzels....they are evil. I have a membership for the bulk store (kinda like sams club) and bought those in a big HUGE tub. They called my name all day and night.

Night ladies

I'm with Sonia on having trouble sympathizing with the cold. The high temp here yesterday was 6....yes, 6. The school buses in several local communities froze up. Would not start or else quit on the road. Apparently diesel fuel turns to gel when it gets too cold.

No snowshoes for me yesterday, that is just not happening at that temp. I am not a fan of that cold. I like the 20's or 30's just fine.

I am going to be good again today.

Marathon victim died from drinking too MUCH water
Last updated at 11:07am on 24th April 2007

David Rogers, 22, who died after drinking too much water during the London Marathon
A 22-year-old man died after completing his first London Marathon because he drank too much water.
David Rogers collapsed at the end of the race and died yesterday in Charing Cross Hospital.

Today it emerged the fitness instructor from Milton Keynes died from hyponatraemia, or water intoxication.

I guess the moral of the story for this, is if you drink water and you have to go to the bathroom, goooooooo!!!!!!! So sad!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never could find out exactly how much she drank. But like Sonja said, it was all about messing up the Ph balance.

Woman in Water Drinking Contest Dies
Water Intoxication Blamed in Death of Calif. Woman Who Competed Radio Station Drinking ContestThe Associated Press SACRAMENTO, Calif. Jan 13, 2007 (AP)

A woman who competed in a radio station's contest to see how much water she could drink without going to the bathroom died of water intoxication, the coroner's office said Saturday.

.............
.............

It was not immediately know how much water Strange consumed.

.........
........
Initially, contestants were handed eight-ounce bottles of water to drink every 15 minutes.

"They were small little half-pint bottles, so we thought it was going to be easy," said fellow contestant James Ybarra of Woodland. "They told us if you don't feel like you can do this, don't put your health at risk."

Ybarra said he quit after drinking five bottles. "My bladder couldn't handle it anymore," he added.

After he quit, he said, the remaining contestants, including Strange, were given even bigger bottles to drink.

Good Morning Ladies! I had to take notes today, just so I could read all posts and respond. I love all the "chattiness". I really think this is going to be a good month for all of us. I hope I didn't miss anyone or anything.

Now, I really didn't post the above info. about the people with water intoxication to scare anyone. I just wanted to share what I had found. I had to find the whole story for myself, because I had forgot the whole story. If it didn't happen today, I tend to forget.

So, drink your water....listen to your body......and don't forget to PEE.

After writing the poll, I went and grabed my water instead of my diet coke. I still didn't drink my 3 bottles (l liter each), but all this talk about water is moving me in the right direction. I think I will lower my goals, and make baby steps with water. I like water (not as much as my diet coke), but I just tend to stay in the bathroom all day long. I heard this will change once your body gets use to the water???? So, I will take baby steps.

So here is my goal for water: This week I will drink 1 liter of water everyday.

Michiemish: Welcome! So glad you are joining us. I like your goals. I think babysteps are great. Sometimes it is too easy to go gung ho, and then quit, because it was just too much of a change or too hard. I have read alot of weight loss stories, where the people that lost a lot of weight took baby steps at the beginning. There is a Chinese Proverb about baby steps, but I can't remember it. So one day, when I can remember, I think I will put that in my signature.

Sonja: THROW THE BAG AWAY! So I hope the bag of pretzles is gone. So how is personal training going? Do you feel like you learned alot. I would love to have a personal trainer and personal cook. If I was rich........

KCW:
I would not be able to drink water if I was a teacher. I have to be able to get to the bathroom every 15 minutes when I am drinking water.

Congrats on the 1 pound loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

L4another: I also pee all night when I drink water. So how's the HOUSE? Do I still need to wish ya luck?

MotherMavis: Wow! 4 liters...So did you stay up all night. 4 liters is my goal to get too. I tried that one day last month, and I was up all night. The water really helps me to stop drinking so many Diet Cokes (6-8 cans/day).

I really hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Way to go with the water, mavis!! And as for the cold, yikes, you've probably got it worse than me here in boston!

Losing, I'm glad you hear me on those pretzels! They are soooooo good and soooooooooo bad!! And why is Rachel asking about your house? Did I miss something?

Emerson --

Rachel -- yeah, having a personal chef would be awesome, right?? I haven't seen my trainer since Mon, bc I'm back at work and hitting the Bally's closer to work. Planning on going today, though, so we'll see if he was serious about training me for free! Also, thanks for posting those stories. And hey congrats on the 2 lbs down!!!

As for me, I'm down to 145.5 this morning, still pissed off about the recent gain but at least I'm going back down again. I was reading another thread where everyone was talking about how they needed to up their calorie intake to get the weight off. I dont know, though...I think I'll finish out this week with my 1400 goal, and see what happens. Also gonna try to use those calorie calculators to try and figure out what my goals should be, but I don't really trust them things anyway.

OK, I'm sure I'll be posting again today, talk to you all soon!

Sonja

Woohoo Mom2 Two pounds down I'm down a pound too and that puts me in the 230's and OUT of the 240's. I was ready to look at a different set of numbers.
The house is better now ..thanks for asking. It took a late night yesterday but I got it back to code for humans to live in again
Thats crazy about the stories you posted. I didn't know the contest also had to do with not going pee too...I wouldn't of made it passed the second bottle before starting the pee pee dance
Isn't it funny how you could drink a liter of diet soda no problem but water is a chore. There are days when it's really hard to drink it and others when I guess my body just needs it.

Sonja- Did you toss the pretzels? I had to do some major cleaning after being down and out with that stomach flu/virus or whatever the heck it was for those two days. Was scary you should have seen it ...on a second thought NO you didn't want to see it

Emerson- I'm doing weight watchers too

Mavis- 20 and 30's thats tooooo cold.....I guess it's a little different for us. One day it's in the 80's and the following day it's in the teens. Our whole world is off until it warms back up. You all have snow days and we should have cold days

My husband bought me a burger from a burger place I LOVE today....It puts the whopper to shame. have no idea how many points it was BUT it was sooo good and I ate almost the whole thing...my daughter helped a little. I will probably pay for that later. The last time I ate there was two years ago so thats how often we go. I was having a bad day...was trying to get to my Moms and the car wouldn't start...Got it to start then it wouldn't start again..then my husband comes home with that burger ..all was right in the world somehow. Food is so drug like. I got my fix I guess.

TGIF!
Have a good weekend ladies

Afternoon or night everyone. Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. It cold (for southern california) and we got a little ran so far. Sorry nothing like you gals with single digits.

My fiance is leaving on sunday for a 16 day fishing trip. I will miss him but I can't wait. He doesn't understand the type of support I need. And I think (hope) if I get started while he is gone I will have better chance. I can't to him about this stuff. But I love him.

Have a nice night everyone.

OK, the trainer came through for another free session tonight. I HURT HURT HURT!! Still hoping to get a half hour of cardio in tomorrow, if I can manage to operate my legs. I think I did like 100 squats, no joke.

Losing -- thanks for the house cleaning clarification!! As for the pretzels, I haven't been in office since they attacked me so they're still there. Monday I'll take care of the little suckers.

Michie -- I would love 16 days alone!! I know what you mean about not receiving the type of support you need, though I have to say my boyfriend is really pretty on point with that. It took some time to get there, though! Is he at all encouraging, or do you feel alone in your journey?

OK, I'm off to sleep. Despite having eaten 1400 cals, drinking 2 liters of water, and exercising my tush off, I have some doubts about the scale tomorrow. I really should just banish that thing till tuesday.

Love and kisses,
Sonja

Hi Ladies!

Sonja- you are sooo lucky to have a free personal trainer. I wish I was that lucky! =) Good luck with everything

Michie - enjoy your next 16 days! I'm sure you'll do great, and we'll be here to support and encourage you the entire time!

Losing - Great job for being down a pound! I'm hoping I'm down another pound sometime soon, but who knows.

Emerson - Welcome! I'm new too, but I love this place already! I feel so welcome!

Rachel - Congrats on the 2 pound loss! You're doing awesome!

So I didn't do so hot today. I had Wendy's for lunch again =( My mom and I ended up driving over an hour and going to a casino and then shopping, so it was just kind of grabbing lunch on the fly. On a good note. Yesterday I did Turbo Sculpt and I'm sore today, but a good sore...

Okay, its bedtime ladies! I'll talk to everyone in the mornin!

Buenos dias, ladies.
The scale is finally getting me back to my ticker weight -- 144.5 this morning. Official weigh in is on Tues, and I will be happy if I'm at 143 by then.
OK, I gotta get motivated. We're doing a major house cleaning/re-org today in preparation for the party I'm hosting tomorrow (YIKES). I hate cleaning.

Good Morining Everyone! I hope all is well. Usually I gain a pound or not loose over the weekend. My goal this weekend is to loose or at least not gain this weekend.

I did loose another 2 pounds. I have been so good this week. Also I haven't nursed the baby the past three days. I think my body is getting used to the idea to stop holding onto this fat. So, now I only have 6 more pounds to get to my personal goal for this month. Of course I would really love to loose more.

Sonja: Congrats on going down on the scale. It always puts a smile on my face. With the calories: ummm.....I've read about doing that too. Have you been at 1400 calories for a long time? How does your body feel with that? Also, from personal experience, I find that if I don't eat the same calories everyday, it keeps my body guessing.....called calorie cycling. Like if one day I am going to be bad, I take calories from another day. Anyways I've read about alot of people doing that to lose weight.

Just read your other post. Sonja, you put me to shame in the exercise department. You are doing so good with that.

Losing4another: Congrats on getting down another pound. Seeing a whole new set of numbers is so motivating isn't it? As for the hamburger, its okay, as long as you didn't quit for the day because of that one hamburger, or what I have done in the past, wait till MONDAY to get back on plan. I am so glad for my new friends here. You are keeping me on track. Also, I think we need a treat every once in a while.

Michemich: Wow! A sixteen day fishing trip! This would be a great time to get things started in your weight loss. You will have a whole new set of habits by the time he comes back. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

KCW: Congrats on exercising. If you go out all the time, can you start ordering the kids meal or something? This would be a huge difference in calories. Where ever you go to the most.....look up the website and compare the calories. There is like a whole day worth of cals in some of the fast food sandwiches out there. Actually, I am going to go out with my son today to Chik-fil-a. I think I will order kids meal now after posting this. See this board is really motivating.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone.
