Not weighing today but belly is flattening out. I went to dinner with DH last night, had a great time but ate what I liked (no dessert though) and had a couple drinks and still feel skinny!! Gotta go, YS wrestling today, wish him luck.
That where I will be for the next 12 hours or so!! Have his food packed with water fruit veggies and yogurt in there for his mommy too!

Hey ladies!

Luminfan, way to go on the pounds lost! Especially in the face of chocolate cake, I think just looking at the directions on the back of the package would have caused me to gain 5 pounds! Yay for you!

mavis, you can do 16 pounds easy. I think I'm right there with you on that goal (looks like I have 17 left in this challenge), so let's stick with it. Race ya! ;)

I was down 2 pounds overall this week, so I'm pretty pleased with that. I have only 3 weeks to go on my program but that's obviously not enough to get close to my goal weight so I'm planning on shelling out a few more bucks for another month-and-a-half of program.

I was supposed to work all weekend but I had to take my Mom to the emergency room yesterday for chest pains. Not really pains, but she had a feeling of heaviness in her chest along with pains in her left arm. Classic heart attack symptoms that scared us both, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with her heart they decided. The only thing wrong is an extremely low platelet count, so they're keeping her there for a few days to find out the cause.

I exercised once last week, on Wednesday. I'm going to take it easy with exercise for awhile, I seem to lose a little quicker that way. I think it's probably the number of calories I'm allowed. But I have a positive attitude again, and that's more than half the battle, isn't it?!

Catmint 02-18-2008 12:15 PM

Hey ladies! Just a quick happy check-in to say I'm down 2 more pounds! I think I'm finally on the down-swing of this weight-loss venture. 45 pounds down overall (if my math is correct) and I'm feeling better about things.

How's everyone else doing? It's almost Spring, ladies, let's make it the best Springtime yet!

mothermavis 02-23-2008 06:39 AM

Catmint- you are doing great. WTG with 2 more pounds!

I am doing great with my exercise but not so great with my food, but that changes today. No excuses, just focus. I will do this. I will be in my skinny shorts before I leave on vacation.

Catmint 02-23-2008 08:18 AM

Mavis: Good for you for having a positive attitude!

I was up and down this week. 2 pounds down on Monday, 1/2# up on Wednesday, then 1/4# down on Friday. So a net of 1-3/4# down. Not bad, I guess, but still too slow. I'm doing some kind of plateau breaker this weekend, maybe it will jump start my metabolism.

We're going out to eat tonight with some friends in our car club. I used to love going out to eat (obviously!) but now it's just a pain to make sure I can find something good I can eat. Some restaurants are figure-friendly, others are not. I may try to find a menu online for tonight's restaurant before I leave. Sometimes that helps.

So Mavis, obviously you have big Spring Break plans? Are you going on a cruise? You are just going to be so proud of yourself, whatever you do, because you will be slimmer and trimmer and fabulous!

Back in the game... finally!

S0 sorry for disappearing again, ladies. I put myself on a 3FC time out -- I felt like my thoughts and my posts had become either whining or excuses, so I charged myself to accomplish something before I returned.

As of this morning, I'm down 6 from the start of the challenge :carrot: and now allowing myself back on the forums.

The -6 is falling short from where I'd planned to be, but it's a loss (finally,) and I'm very excited to have broken through into the 160s. This means I've officially lost the weight gained over two pregnancies :D

OK, enough patting myself on the back - and sorry this is such a "Me" post. I'm just so darn happy to return, and now I need to catch up with your posts!

Leeza

Welcome back Leeza! 6 lost is awesome!!

Catmint- we head down your way for SB, we go to Myrtle Beach. We have done it forever. I can't wait. We have done the cruise things a couple times, but can't find anything we like more than Myrtle!

mothermavis 02-25-2008 05:53 AM

Morning all, I have been working on the C25k, I started week 3 on Saturday. I am hoping to be one of those skinny girls I see running on the beach by the time we go on vacation. Will definitely not get to skinny, but will get to skinnier!!!

Catmint 02-25-2008 07:10 PM

Hi mothermavis! You will look fabulous running along the ocean in Myrtle Beach!

I've been there a couple times but I don't recall actually going to a beach. Mostly we just golfed. We don't really have Spring Break plans because, well, we don't have Spring Break! My son is only 3, and even when he turns school-age we'll be homeschooling so we can take our "Spring Break" trip any time of the year! But we're going to Savannah for a few days the second week of April, so I guess that's the goal I'm shooting for in this challenge.

I'm down 1/2 pound from Friday. My period is supposed to start this week, usually I gain a little that week so I'm actually happy with just a 1/2 pound loss. But I'm still a little down about how agonizingly slow it's going. In the long run I'm sure that's a good thing. But I'm an impatient person.

What's new with everyone else?

mothermavis 02-27-2008 06:23 AM

My loss has been slow slow too, getting there though. Hoping for 145 by the end of this month!

lumifan4ever 02-27-2008 09:44 AM

Hello all!! I am tired of feeling like a cheater when i look at my post. I haven't seen 131.5 since the day i changed my ticker. I must have been really dehydrated that day. But i have seen 133 point something so i'll just change it to that.

But last night i was getting ready to wash clothes and my teenage daughter came in my bathroom and saw me trying on her size 7 jr jeans. She was stunned that i could fit in them. I actually confiscated a pair that fit really well that i can wear to work on friday. I told her not to feel bad because my belly was hanging over the low waist of this pair of her jeans and her belly doesn't do that. But wow!!! How excited i was that i could wear her jeans!!! If i could just tone up my midsection....wow...that would be soooo awesome. That's it!!! I'm calling that personal trainer at the Y and setting up my 12 week program with her. I am going to get this midsection toned before bathing suit season!!!!

mothermavis 03-01-2008 07:56 AM

Bad news, I only lost 1 pound all month.
Good news, I lost 2 inches off my hips!! I 'll take it.
6 weeks to my spring break vacation, keeping at it!

Darby1 03-01-2008 09:24 AM

Hi Ladies,
I'm back! I'm out of hiding and I'm done whining. Somebody posted on another thread that weight loss is hard, maintaining is hard, being fat is hard, so you just have to pick your hard. Well, it's true. I just had my birthday, I turned 41. I've been "trying" to lose weight for at least the past 10 years. I lose it and gain it in an unending cycle. I don't want to be 50 and still fighting this.

I've dropped 3 lbs.(but had gained about 7) So, I'm up about 4 from my ticker. But that's ok. I know what I need to do to drop it. For good this time!

mothermavis-two inches off the hips is awesome! You'll be running the beach in no time! Did you ever get your facial? Cause you totally deserve it.

lumifan-have you started with a trainer yet? I went to a personal trainer twice a week for about 6 months (several years ago), and I was never so toned. You will love the results!

Leeza-6 lbs is great!

Catmint-as long as the scale is going down, you're doing ok. I know it's frustrating when weight loss is slow, but really, you have a better chance of keeping it off if it's a slow loss.

Well, I'm happy to be back. I have midterms this week and next, so it's going to get a little crazy, but I plan to cook up some healthy food so that I always have something on hand, and I'm going to work out before I even start studying, so I don't have any excuses.

Have a great weekend

mothermavis 03-01-2008 09:42 AM

Morning Darby.
I am 41 also. I'll be 42 in June and it's funny that you said that, about not wanting to fight this at 50. I told my husband, this is my last time. I am going to do all I can to hit my best self by 42, if I get to my birthday and I've worked as hard as I can and I'll still have a flabby belly, so be it. I'll need to learn to live with it, but I have to know I did my best.
I just added what you found about picking your hard to my signature, I hope no one minds, but wow, so true!
I've yet to get my facial, just no time for me right now, but soon!

The rest of you, get in here and tell us how you are!!
Lumi, WOW!

Catmint 03-01-2008 07:33 PM

Hey folks. Sorry I haven't checked in lately.

Well, I'm going to quit the Spring Break Challenge. In fact, I'm going to quit losing weight, starting immediately; I've decided to start gaining instead. Yup, you read that right.

Of course, the only place I'll be gaining is around the middle. We just found out I'm pregnant! This will be our second child and no this was not an accident. I would have rather waited until I got to my goal weight, but I had no idea it would work on the first try (sorry, tmi).

So no more dieting for me for awhile. I'm sad about that because I was doing very well. But at least I'm 50 pounds lighter for this pregnancy than I was for the last, so that's a good thing.

Good luck ladies! I'll still check in, I love 3FC and I plan on starting strong again in about 8-1/2 months.
