Ohhh, so bad last night. I ate Bojangles last night. Not just ate, ate ALOT. I am so OP today and feeling like crap. Not just mentally but physically too. My stomach was so upset last night. Lesson learned! Up a pound today too.

lumifan4ever 10-12-2007 09:52 AM

I am not being as good as i can be on the food part, but i got that excersizing part down pretty good.

Yesterday, i had a small brownie someone brought into work, last night the girls wanted cupcakes so of course, i had one too. ummmm...it was good though.

But i did jog/walk 2 miles last night. That felt great. I was exhausted but so happy that i did it. I can't wait to do it again tonight. I am loving the fact that i am doing it. I feel like my legs are getting stronger...and hopefully my lungs too. I need my lungs to get healthy so they can keep up with my legs.

Good luck ladies. See ya again later today!!!

oh...my weed:

W- 8 glasses
E- 1200 good calories
E- 30 minutes walk/jog
D- keep going, keep going!!!

Anyone else get headaches alot? :?: I went years and years with daily headaches then when I got preggy and had my son, they stopped. I know, CRAZY. They have started back now since I started dieting. I am not sure what is happening. Any ideas?

ShyShy19 10-12-2007 11:45 AM

Morning ladies. I dont now wth is wrong with me but I never exercise anymore, my eating is alright so I'm just staying at the same weight. I just feel like I dont have any try in me anymore. I feel so... whatever. I'm in a rut I guess. Hope I'm out of it soon.

lumifan4ever 10-12-2007 11:57 AM

shyshy...that's how i was feeling about the gym. I actually look forward to going for my jogs each day now. I think because i know i can't do it for much longer than a month because of the time change coming up and it being dark when i get off work. I know that when that happens, i'll have to go back to the gym. Its the only safe, warm place for me to workout during the winter months. Maybe you should try to think of something different to try for excersize. I hope you feel better soon. And i hope we both start losing again soon!!!

ShyShy19 10-12-2007 02:36 PM

Thank you lumifan.
I really don't know what is going on with me. I'm tired of my workout dvd's I've tried a couple new ones and dont really like them, I love the tae-bo but I've benn doing it forever and now I'm burned out. I don't have the money or time for the gym, I don't feel comfortable going for jogs during the day becasue I feel like people are watching me and I also go back home before you could even consider it a workout and I I'm scared do go out walking after dark, I started walking with my fiance but now his hours have increased and he's too tired when he gets home. Am I just making up excuses? I dunno. Somethings gotta change though.

Hey ladies, hang in there. If losing weight was easy, everyone would be doing it right! ShyShy, I agree with Lumifan just keep trying different things. I try and mix it up so I don't get bored. Current passions-running/walking, pilates, and Gilad. I have a date with him every other morning 5:30am on Fit TV. You'll find something that will boost your mood, and help ya get motivated. Lumifan-congrats on the running. Good for you to be able to do it outside. I'm very intimidated by the thought of running outside. I have a gym membership and won't even run there. I got a treadmill back in June and its the best piece of exercise equipment that I've bought and I've used it the most out of all the stuff I've purchased. I just got done running. I decided that I need to work on my speed. I'd like to run an 8 min mile like I used to in school, I gotta a lot of work ahead of me:tread:

Hey I better go make supper everyone have a great weekend.

Bridgette.

ShyShy19 10-14-2007 02:47 AM

Hey dream- sounds like your doing well. Its a cool coincidence (spelling?) that you mentioned the fit channel. We just signed up with direct tv and last night I saw that channel for the first time. It looked pretty cool. I'll have to keep looking at the channel every now and again to see what I like and start doing it consistantly. Well everyone, not much has changed for me in the last couple of days, my eating is alright, but definatly not as good as it could and the exercise is still pretty much non existant. I've been doing this for about 10 weeks now and have lost only 7 lbs so thts like pretty crapy huh? but ya know what I could have just sat on my tush this whole time and not tried at all and I'd be 7 lbs heavier then I am today, so I am proud of myself for that. Right now I just need to get myself back on track so I don't gain it back.
Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragment. Hope everyone is having a fun weekend. The weather in cali has been nice the last couple days.

For years I was afraid of that very thing, and I just decided one day that I simply didn't care anymore. It was SUCH a turning point for me. I started building jogs into my walks when I weighed about 250, and sure, there were probably people who saw me and snickered, but there were probably others who were impressed that I was out there trying to improve my life. Either way, I didn't care. It was just so much more important for me to get the exercise in, and then I absolutely fell in love with running. Now I've run a half marathon and I'm a cross country coach!! You really can't let your worry about other people affect what you do for your health. I know it's easy to say and harder to do, but let me tell you -- when you can get past that, it makes all the difference in the world.

Unfortunately, I've had to take a couple days off running because my left hamstring is seriously hurting. I probably need to go have it looked at. I'm missing my Sunday long run!! :(

My eating has been....ok....not that great. I've gone over my WW points a few days this week, but not by too much. I just seem to want to munch all the time, and I think it's from job stress!! My students are killing me! I've been weighing in at 164 the last few days, one pound up from the lowest point, but I'd like to get back down by Tuesday's weigh-in.

Hang in there, everyone!! :)

Just checking in. Lost a few more pounds, have 24 more to go by Christmas. Exercising 6 times a week and drinking tons of water and trying to stay in the 1200-1400 calorie range.

staffingchick 10-15-2007 09:57 AM

Hello ladies. I havent posted in a few days, so I thought I'd update. I was reading some of your posts, and wow can I relate. Headaches have really been an issue for me too. I get them almost every day. I tried drinking more water, b/c I heard that helps, but nothing has helped me. I had an okay weekend as far as eating goes. I always look at Mondays like a brand new start. I'm really looking forward to changing my ticker this week....atleast 2 pounds. I'm going to the INDIANS game tonight....(I don't know if we have any baseball fans her :-) I know I will be tempted, b/c we have a loge for work, and there's going to be lot's of yummy food! It should be a good time though. Only 2 more weeks to go to make my Halloween goal.....Good Luck to all of you. Chat soon.

Of course I don't mind you asking! :) I started this weight loss journey on July 18, 2006, and by the end of June 07, I had lost 100 pounds. I maintained around 172-175 for the remainder of the summer while training for my half marathon, and then it took me about three weeks to lose the last 8-10 pounds to get to my goal of 165. So all in all, it took a little over a year.

As for secrets, let's see...I'll just share with you what has made me successful this time after years and years of trying:

*Sticking to my daily points level on MOST days. This means I take days off on occasion, but very rarely.
*Using my points however I want. Yes, I should eat more fruits and vegetables than I do, but for me it was more important to get the weight OFF than to worry about clean eating, even though I know that's the best way to go. So yes, I eat 100-calorie packs and other "unhealthy" things, because they help me stick to my points range. And they've helped me lose 112 pounds.
*Spreading my points out throughout the day as much as possible so that I'm never desperately hungry.
*Exercise, but not just for the sake of weight loss. I never wanted to exercise until I found something I love, which is running. And no, I never in a million years thought I'd even LIKE running, let alone love it.
*Making goals that aren't related to the scale. This could be clothing sizes, measurements, or better yet: fitness goals. When I set a goal to run my first 10k, I HAD to run. I paid the money and signed up, so I had no choice. So now I keep signing up for races, and even if my love of running wears off, I have goals to keep me in line until I get it back!!
*Doing it MY way and not paying attention to detractors! People will always tell you "that's not going to work" but you have to do what's best for YOU. People still try to tell me what to do, even though I've clearly found what works for me. I just politely listen while tuning them out...

I may think of more stuff later! I do tend to ramble!!

Edited to say: I just saw on the side of your post that you're doing Core, so some of what I said won't necessarily apply to you, because I do Flex!

Alcysmom 10-17-2007 07:38 AM

Thanks so much LisaMarie!

I am down more today! I am so excited about losing every single pound. Everytime the scale reads less, I want to shout it from the hill tops! I have also found running. I am still run/walking though. It is pretty hard to get my tail airborne sometimes to keep running! :woops:

I started a new rewards program for myself. I deposit $25 every week my weight goes down into my own account. Each time I meet a goal, I can spend it or save it for something bigger! It has been working pretty well so far.

As far as Flex or Core, sometimes I switch back and forth just to spice things up. It also keeps my metabolism guessing!

Thanks so much for the advise and keep it coming.

lumifan4ever 10-17-2007 11:05 AM

congrats to those that are still losing. Me, not so much right now. I just can't seem to keep my eating under control. apparently not eating over my calories because i am not gaining weight, i just ain't losing anymore. I am running now at least 4 times a week. I aim for at least 2 miles. (okay..well...I am jogging. I managed to jog/walk 2 miles in 20 minutes last night. Thats a record for me!!!)

But, I am hoping that if i don't get the eating undercontrol the way i'd like to, that even if the number on the scale doesn't go down this month, maybe the inches will still go down. That's what really counts in the long run anyways, right??? That we are getting slimmer and toner??? I know if i can keep up the running and increase it a little more each week, that eventually the number on the scale will have to go down too. So, i'm not letting it bother me if i don't reach my "pounds gone number" by christmas. As long as maybe I am in a size 6 instead of an 8 would make me EXTREMELY happy!!

But my weed for today:
W- 8 glasses
E- 1200-1300
E- 2 1/2 miles in 30 minutes
D- There is not failure unless you quit trying!! (Does that make sense???)

ps...just adding a note in about the being embarressed to jog in public thing. Yeah, i feel the same way. That's why i jog on my dirt road. Not very many people come up and down it when i'm out there jogging...so i don't have much to worry about. I don't like the thought of people watching me jog either. Besides, something about the dirt road makes jogging alittle easier on my knees. The sand definately helps my butt and hamstrings work a little harder. And it is a slight incline on the first half mile and slightly downhill on the second half mile. I only jog half a mile away from my driveway and then half a mile back to my drive way. i do this twice for 2 miles.
