I ate too much today!!!! I felt crummy all day, and comforted myself with food. Too much bread, cheese and just to much munching!! I finally went and had a nap....just to keep myself out of the kitchen!!
Tomorrow will be better!!

bye the way...welcome to all of our new-comers!

JasonsLea 08-02-2007 10:22 PM

Elegant Departure 08-03-2007 12:10 AM

Well, thought i'd touch base with everyone before I head off to the island tomorrow. I have to work at 630 tomorrow morning, so theres a slim chance i'll check in before I leave. I'll be back late monday night though. I'm scared of the dinners that await me, but i have already prepared healthy breakfasts and lunches. That in conjunction with some basketball playing, morning jogs and swimming in the lake. I'm hoping I should be okay. I'm prepared to except the consequences of bbqs and pasta that my father might make. I'll do the small portions thing though. I hope everyone has an excellent weekend, and an fabulous long weekend for those of you who live up here in bc, canada. Can't wait to hear how everyone does this weekend!

jordan 08-03-2007 12:29 AM

My goal for this month is 9 lbs. I started July at 216 and ended it at 202, so I met my goal of 10 lbs. last month. I am so excited because I will drop out of the 200's this month, so that should keep me on track. Wishing everyone a successful month. To those of you who carry this thread, thank you. I have read it for the last 2 months on an almost daily basis and your persistence and encouragement mean a lot to even those who do not post often like myself. You gals are great!

judi826 08-03-2007 07:17 AM

I finally dropped another pound! It's taken a week... And it's not like I've been hitting the oreos! I hate this hot weather. I retain water like crazy!

Jordan- way to go! What an incredible July.

Lekhika- great photo!

Lekhika 08-03-2007 07:25 AM

Good Morning everyone!

ElegantDeparture
Vacations can be tough and I've found that it's best to try and stay on plan as much as possible, as you are planning. You have much more activities than I'd counted on so that really is awesome. But more importantly it's crucial to remember that it IS vacation and that you are meant to relax....

Hope you have a wonderful time! Oh and I love your new avatar!

Dea
The eating aside, I hate that guilty feeling in the pit of my stomach too...

JasonsLea
Does your ordinary day include a lot of protein? I have found that adding chick peas or black eyed peas to my salad or something keeps me truckin through day three....I know it's not fruit or technically a vegetable but...heck it's close enough!

jordan
What a kickass lost last month! Ihope this month brings the same kind of results for you!

I have stayed on plan as far as the caloric intake goes. But I've been TOTALLY slacking with exercise! I'm hoping I can kick it up a notch starting next week.

Hope all of you fabulous people have a wonderful weekend!

FullSteamAhead 08-03-2007 08:25 AM

Ladiesssssssss, hi : ) IT's so good to see all of you here from last month and also welcome to all who recently joined in :welcome2:

I have been on the water for the past several days, it was great but today its back home to do some laundry and catch up with things here and take a break from the sea and sun. Was thinking of you guys and it's great to come in and read all your news, as always. Pigginpodgey, thanks for the kind words : ).

Congratulations on the losses girls! Dea, hope your having a good day today....brush it off and keep on truckin!

Lea, is this day 2 or 3 of your fast? I bet you feel super.

Lekhikaaaa, you look great girl! :)

Judi and mary, congrats on the loss! :carrot: It's nice to see you all again and hear your news.

Jordan, congratulations on the loss! that is great! :carrot:

Departure, have a wonderful time on the island.

Welcome again to all who have joined in and also for those of you thinking to join us, please do so at any time as it's never too late to join in here. Wishing everyone success with their goals and a great and successful day today! Hang in there through TOM, I am due early next week I think and sometimes I breeze through it okay and other times its more difficult. Keeping busy through TOM helps me as long as I feel well enough to do so.

Okay, I got on the scale this morning to see what is going on and have managed to maintain. I had brought a lot of tuna with me (made with cains f.f mayo) and wheat bread and dinners were pretty free but in moderation. I have been so active so I beleive that is really helping. So far so good ladies and my focus is on one day at a time as usual. I better run, I have to go out and stock up on things here before the heat a nd humidity kicks in. Happy fridayyyyyyyyy and have a s uper weekend. Keep on truckin' :)

10Again 08-03-2007 01:15 PM

 Good morning, all! Just want to check in and say TGIF!!! Good luck to everyone over the weekend - may you all eat well, stay on track and feel good about yourselves! :cheer:

pigginpodgey 08-03-2007 01:23 PM

Im off on a business trip for a week on saturday, so will be MIA!! Keep at it ladies, and I will check in when i get back!!

sockmonkey70 08-03-2007 02:02 PM

I really don't know why I do the things I do. I am contemplating never going to my friends house again, even though I love him to death. I always go over there and drink...And once I have had enough, I keep drinking LOL. And then I get the drunk munchies...And I ate 2 pieces of lemon cake, an oreo, and a mighty kids meal from McDonalds. I ate around 3000 calories yesterday. I am so ashamed of myself, but I feel I must confess it LOL.
**hides head in shame**

seasoning 08-03-2007 07:26 PM

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I tell myself I'll just have one little drink and next thing I know I've had three glasses of wine and eaten all the leftovers in the refrigerator. I know that's why I've put on all this weight. I'm resolving not to drink anything until I've lost at least 5 pounds.

FullSteamAhead 08-04-2007 12:42 AM

HI there,

Mary, you hang in there girl. Stuff like that canhappen, please dont beat yourself up too much, okay? TOmorrow is a new day! yes indeed! :) we wake up to a new day tomorrow hon, so lets put it behind and keep on truckin. You are one of the most supportive and sweet people here, all of you areeeeeeeeee, but mary you really do support everyone and just are such a jem. Honey, let it go! Its history now, tomorrow is a new day :) lets wake up and kick butt yes girl? :)

It was a total swelter house here today, lol....... nice being on land again yet not so nice! lol. I took care to do my duties in the morningas i said (after a full breakfast with dh) and then took care to just stay out of the sun and heat. As much as i love the summer and promised not to complain, godddddddddddd, I sure wont mind some drier air! lol.

pigginpodgey, have a great time on your vaca and do check back with us indeed! :) have a wonderful time.

10again, ty for the well wishes!!!!!!!!!!! :) likewise!

oh my god, the heat is getting to me up here again, i have to go. Lets keep it rocking! ladies, I am on vaca with dh and wow......right now I just want to maintain@ ouff, wish meluck! miss you all, catch you soon.

sockmonkey70 08-04-2007 01:01 PM

FullSteam you made me cry LOL..YOU are the one that is constantly giving support to everyone! No matter what, you always have time to address everyone who has posted on the thread and make sure they feel included!
How's the vacation going anyway? Fun?

Dea 08-04-2007 04:56 PM

LOL...Mary, I don't even need to drink to get the munchies...it just happens by itself!!! Don't worry about it! Put it behind you and do better today.
My dh is taking a weeks holiday next starting on Monday, but instead of taking a trip, we are going to just do some day-trips. He booked some flights to...FLORIDA for the fall...got a great deal, and it will be such a surprise for our kids! We still need to book all of the Disney stuff, but we want to talk to some friends for advise on that. Anyway....I am now on a mission to do the best I can to be in really good shape for our fall vacation! That way, I can indulge a bit without feeling too guilty.

Lekhika 08-05-2007 08:10 AM

Ok...so as of the last two weeks, I have been on a non exercise bender. I have to confess it here. I haven't gained, haven't lost, just am mired in my den of sloth.

The husband is away in India and I am at home with two kids. I haven't even made good on my "at least yoga everyday" challange for august. I am stuck and I feel sucky.

Mary and FullSteamAhead you two rock. I think that just about covers everything I needed to say!

Dea
Being in good shape for fall sounds like a nice challange to yourself!!

seasoning 08-05-2007 09:21 AM

The weekly weigh-in was good to me--I lost three pounds. Lekhika, I don't think you can really say it's sloth when you're at home with two kids. You'll get back to the exercise when things are better for it.

sockmonkey70 08-05-2007 02:27 PM

Way to go seasoning! Great loss!

There is nothing wrong with maintaining Lekhika! Everyone deserves a little lazy time :)

My weigh in was today...I am stuck at 195 and thrilled about it after my binge the other day! I was scared I would show a gain *wheeewwwww*
Onward to next week!

judi826 08-05-2007 03:55 PM

I did the seafood diet yesterday- I saw food & I ate it (badum-bum).

I think maybe I'll switch over to the 1X/week weigh-in for a while. Although it's not possible that I ate a whole pounds worth of extra calories. I just wasn't my in-control self. Oh, well... Today's back on track- I'm logging everything I'm eating onto fitday.com and I'm doing pretty well.

Plus- I'm making myself a sweater in a gorgeous deep plum wool. It's keeping me focused on my goal of looking good in a sweater! Risky, yes- but the $$ I spent on the yarn says I can do it. If you've ever knitted something, you might know the trauma of finishing a piece of clothing, trying it on- and tossing it to the back of the closet because it makes you look like Shamu, the whale!

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Lekhika 08-05-2007 06:46 PM

seasoning
Thanks for the kind words. I just feel so blech. But, I worked in 30 minutes of yoga this afternoon so I'm feeling a little better about myself!

And YAY! THree pounds! Woot! You totally rock dude!

Mary (sockmonkey)
I keep saying that to myself too...I deserve some slack. I'll try to take it to heart and not beat myself up about the sloth!

judi826
*chuckles* over your "seafood" diet!

I am a huge supporter of the once weekly weigh in. I get way to obsessed otherwise.

And I a'm trying to teach myself to crochet and am about to give up and call myself just unable to teach myself that craft.

I have to run...I think I'm going to take the kids for a short walk then shower and dinner and time to turn in.

Hope tomorrow I can work in at least half an hour of yoga again!

Later taters!

killmisspiggy 08-06-2007 05:59 AM

Heya! Can I still join?

I just decided to go on a diet again.

bdandy3 08-06-2007 10:32 AM

Hey, all!
Well, it was kind of a rough weekend but I am determined to be back on track today. On the plus side, I had a great workout and did yoga on Saturday. On the minus side, I had a doctor's appointment on Saturday and apparently my problems with TTOM are caused by uterine polyps. Not exactly sure what that means but I go back to the doctor later this week. Plus I was sore from my visit and cramping so no workout yesterday. Today will be a cardio day though.

Keep up the great work everyone!

FullSteamAhead 08-06-2007 12:04 PM

Hi ladiessssssss : ) , how was everyone's weekend?

Mary, thanks for the kind words girl : ) Hope you had a great weekend. The vaca with dh is going great, we have been doing an awful lot. Friday and Sat. it was sooooo humid here and I wasn't feeling that great but stayed out of the sun and heat to rest up and catch up with a few things indoors. We had company over all day yesterday and it was pretty much last minute, dh went and picked up chinese food. It was a beautiful day and dry air which was a nice break from the humidity. The food and cocktails were flowing freely and though I promised myself not to stress over vaca and allow myself some slack, I also can't go too overboard and need to pull in the reigns a bit so as of today I am very conscience of my intake. I have that heavy tummy in my feeling due to the weekend and Tom nearing and I really miss that nice light feeling in my tummy so I'm taking it easy today girl and all week long because we have dinner plans sat. night with friends.

Dea, that sounds like a great plan! I think fall is a beautiful time to visit Florida, that's a great incentive too! The kids must be so excited too, going to disney and all : )

Lekhika, you rock too girl! Congratulations on the maintenence! You have been doing excellent, you steadily lost all through summer and even the month of vaca. I view the maintenance as a stabilization of all the loss so far and that is not a bad thing! Hold your head up high and be proud because you sure are one heck of a butt kicker! lol :) As for the exercise, I did a few good beach walks first few days of August and absolutely nothing past few days, I am being purely hedonistic at this point. This is the first time in many months that I did not post my minutes in the ex. forum. I don't know, I didn't want to stress over it during vaca as I knew I would be on the go a lot and all so I felt like I wanted a bit of a break but I also know I can't let it go too long, there's that darn fear that creeps up of not wanting to lose momentum so in essence to calm myself, I told myself come mid August I have to get my tail in gear and post ex. again even if it's 1/2 way through the month. I am rambling now, anyhow keep up the great work hottie :).

seasoning, congratulationsssss on the 3 lb. loss :carrot::carrot:, way to go!

Mary, right on girl! :)

Judi, you reminded me of my dh with the seafood diet, lol. He always used to say that. Glad you had a good day yesterday, keep on truckin. That sweater your making sounds absolutely gorgeous and what a pretty color for fall! nice! :)

Lekhika, something tells me that you can do just about anything if you set your mind to it! :)

Killmiss, of course you can join us, it's never too late to join. Welcome aboard :)

Hi bdandy, hope your feeling better. It is my understanding that polyps can be quite common, hope your doc visit goes well later this week. Congrats on getting right back on track after the weekend : ) and that goes to all! So glad we all have each other here for inspiration and support.

It was great to come in and read everyones posts, as always. Let's keep it rockin, the weekend is over and now we start our fresh new day of our new week. : ) Catch you all soon, have a great day.

edzard 08-06-2007 12:21 PM

Hey all, went kinda crazy end of last week and on the weekend. I needed some time just not caring so much about food. I am wondering if the weight I am losing is causing the fat to release toxings in my system?

4 or 5 years ago I went on the birthcontrol shot because I HAD to even though I knew that the pills made me kinda crazy. Well while on it things were meh ok, but when I went off the shot I went nutz. Like really really crazy behavior, paranoia, depression ect. Anyway the way I was acting the end of the week was reminding me of that time so I am kinda curious if some of that was stored in my fat and got released?

Oh well won't make this too long (too late ;) ) I am up a little from eating wheat products but I think in a few days it will go as does TOM and hope to post some progress this week later or next monday!

Have a great week.

kappy 08-06-2007 01:03 PM

Well this is really a mixed bag . . . I've managed to gain 1.2 pounds :( and yet I'm ahead of schedule on the exercising goals. Needless to say I'm praying it's a water weight issue, I seem to have those a LOT on Mondays. :nono: You'd think I'd learn and just drink more water on the weekends, but do I?:dizzy:

TurboLeda 08-06-2007 01:29 PM

I hope I can join in, too!!!

Goal: Lose 5 pounds by the end of August, right before I return to college in Chicago. New semester, new look!!!! And exercising at least 4-5 times a week!!

sockmonkey70 08-06-2007 04:03 PM

OK I am officially changing my weigh-in day to Monday...Something about Sunday has me cursed LOL. Get on the scale this morning, What do I see....193.5...So I had a 1.5 pound loss for the week afterall Yippppppe!

JasonsLea 08-06-2007 06:26 PM

 everyone!

Welcome all newbies!

WOOOT Mary!

WI tomorrow, let's see if I started August off right.

So I got invited to a keg party for Saturday. No way. I want to go but I know for a fact that I will be too self concious. Damn me.

sockmonkey70 08-06-2007 06:47 PM

Shaaaaari! You were invited! GOO! Have fun! Absolutely do NOT be self conscoius! You are a beautiful, wonderful girl. Live life while you can :) You never know when there won't be a tomorrow!

seasoning 08-06-2007 09:22 PM

Sounds like a party in here!

Congrats, Mary, I'm glad Mondays work better for you. I backslid a little, but I've got 6 more days to get back on track.

Welcome new folks!

Dea 08-07-2007 09:19 AM

Seasoning...those 3 lbs you lost...I found them!!!
It was such a bad week for me! Every time I went into the kitchen, I put something in my mouth. What's with that?!? Back on track this week though.
On the positive side (I can't believe there is one) I was able to increase my jogging from 1km to 1.5km last week.
congrats to everyone who had a successful week...and lets meet those goals!!!

Lekhika 08-07-2007 09:48 AM

Hey girls!
I have had my tea this morning, the kids are brushed and fed and clean and I'm off to do some yoga.

Taking care of the wee ones without my husband around at night to give me a break isn't all that bad. We get a little tired of each other in the evenings but...it's not nearly as boring and tiring as I thought it would be.

Congrats on the jogging increase Dea!

Go to the kegger JasonsLea!

My best to all on staying on plan this week!

bdandy3 08-07-2007 10:33 AM

Well, I weighed myself today and I am down almost 2 pounds! Woo Hoo!

I am going to try doing my workouts in the morning because I am so wiped out when I get home that its easy to talk myself out of it! LOL! I got up this morning and did a Leslie 2 mile workout..but boy was it hard to get up that early! :)

Have a great day!

seasoning 08-07-2007 11:59 AM

Dea, I thought I hid those pounds where nobody would find them.

Good for you bdandy and Lekhika!

Elegant Departure 08-07-2007 12:52 PM

Mary- my weigh-ins are mondays for the same reason. I alway seem to see the loss on that day!

Speaking of which.. unfortunately because of my vacation I had to postpone my weigh in until today. No loss. But I'm considering this a VERY good thing considering the amount and kinds of foods I ate on vacation. I did however, get in plenty of exercise which i'm assuming helped me maintain my 143. That means I still have 8 pounds to lose and only 24 days to do so. :( But i'll keep positive. TOM is here in 2-3 days, so that'll probably hinder seeing a loss on the scale this coming monday, but oh well, an even bigger one will appear the next monday! Glad to hear everyones doing well. Now i've got to go rub some aloe vera all over my back, I got a nasty burn on the island!

sockmonkey70 08-07-2007 02:22 PM

Awwwww Dea I am sorry you gained! Hopefully it's just waterweight and you'll be losing again in no time!

Yay for Yoga Lekhika! I hope one day when I am less round I can attempt this....thing you call yoga.

Way to go Beth!!! :broc: I would love to see two pounds a week! :Broc:

Elegant atleast you maintained! And 2-3 days before my period is when I always gain water weight, so you may have lost but it's just not showing yet! Keep up the exercise and you'll be there in no time :)

Lekhika 08-07-2007 05:24 PM

Dea
Hoping it's water weight too. and if not, well it's just another minor bump along the way....

Elegant Departure
I'm sure you maintained and if not, hey you sound like you had a great vacation!

Sockmonkey
Anyone can do yoga! Here's a great link...YOGA MAN!! It's what got me into yoga. It's so totally relaxing and centering....just give it a week....if you want!

Me? I rocked the treadmill today and felt awesome breaking my cycle of sloth. Ate pretty well....on to tomorrow!

sockmonkey70 08-07-2007 05:38 PM

Cool site! I think I will start trying it after I get rid of this sinus infection. I have been feeling pretty Bleh the last couple of days!

nosnah1011 08-08-2007 10:00 AM

HEY EVERYONE!
you may or may not remember me from the April and May challenges, but that is ok! You get to meet me again :) lol
Anyway, I have been way off track cause june/july have been crazy... i moved from Dallas to Tulsa and have had 3 different bosses and now i'm finally ready to kick some weight butt again! So i look forward to reading all your posts!

oh, and YOGA is awesome... what's great about it is all the modifications, you don't have to be flexible to start, you just do what YOU can and you can rest whenever you need to... but after just one month of doing it 3-4 times a week i was more flexible than i have ever been in my entire life... if you stick with it the results are amazing!

Elegant Departure 08-08-2007 10:49 AM

My scale obsession caused me to jump back on the scale this morning. It read 139!! Has anyone lost 4 pounds before while on vacation? It seems somewhat unlikely that i've lost that much in the past week. I jumped on and off the scale 4 times in disbelief. I'm extremely happy if this reading is correct, but i'm going to wait until tomorrow to see if it was just a misreading. This week is proving difficult as I have a headcold and TOM comes tomorrow or the next day. So i'm hungry as **** and having pretty crappy sleeps (thank you stuffed up sinuses and a dry cough!). The cold may hinder my exercise (jogging has changed to walks until i'm better, and i'm shoving in some pilates here and there since it's not too intense) but i'm hoping that maybe the sickness will bring out a loss of appetite. No such luck yet thanks to TOM. I plan on checking out these forums religiously as I am sick and still don't return to work for 5 more days, so keep them coming ladies.

Lekhika 08-08-2007 01:06 PM

Holy canoli Elegant! If that had happened to me I would blissfully have put away the scale for two weeks and been tra la la happy! When I took my first pregnancy test, there was a faint barely there line.....but a positive is a positive no matter how weak it is....a low weight registering on the scale is like that for me....that's the weight!

Go relax...and yay you!!
