And I'm back in the game!

Before I do anything else - food & workout for the day:

B - nature's valley peanut btr granola bar & a healthy choice dinner entree thing, plus a carton of OJ
L - nada (too busy!)
D - Cottage cheese, avocado, carrots & whatever other healthy stuff is lurking in my fridge

Water - less than desirable (stomach was upset this morning and even water made it worse), but I'm workin' on it. I've been adding lime to my water again so it tastes better.

Exercise -
10 minutes free weights
10 minutes stair stepper
2 miles on the elliptical at level 6 (out of 8) (also - this is 12 minutes)
500 situps
20 pushups (if i can manage them)

I've done the free weights & 1 mile so far. I like to take breaks between my miles because it helps me breathe better (athsma), even though I know it's better for me to go thru. The stair stepper and situps/pushups, I'll do while I watch the news.

Work is a little crazy (as usual) but it's good! No cubes left in the bldg because we're moving into a new one, and they have to put the cubes together in the new space. Sooo this week we're at folding tables in a big open room and it's a big jokefest all day - lots of fun!

Plus my bosses are amazing and wonderful and I am going to make them cookies tonight to show my appreciation. They cut me 90% of my check today, because of the whole IRS thing, and we don't actually get paid until the 5th. They are so understanding and awesome and I will never understand why they are such wonderful, caring people. GOOD DAY!!

My rowing machine gets delivered to my parents' place tomorrow, so I'm going to make them drive down this weekend and deliver it. PLUS I finally killed the giant spider that was living on my wall, all thanks to my dad: he sent me home with a shop vac, a 13' extension sucker, and a can of spider spray. I LOVE MY DAD!

So tonight I'm going to avoid ice cream and have a healthy snack of pretzels instead. And water, no coke.

I don't do religious stuff and I don't know what this whole Lent thing is but I hear it's 40 days of a sacrafice of some sort, kind of like Ramadan (sp?). Sooo even though I don't practice any religion and i don't really believe in them as a whole, I'm going to do this:

For the next 40 days, I will limit myself to 1 coke per day, and ice cream only 2 nights a week.

That's a big sacrafice for me in the coke department! I live on coke!

Other than that... the scale moved today, but in the WRONG direction. I know it's my own fault and I'm pretty pissed off, but I know it'll move again in the RIGHT direction. And soon!

I've also decided that I'm going to my doctor and going back on Meridia. I had results last time but the ex limited my ability to do what was right. I'm going back on it, and it's going to boost my loss rate, and I know it.

Okay - take care chickies! Back to sweating I go!

Jess, back when when I was posting regularly, I limited myself to one pop a day. The limit reall helped cut calories.

Well, yesterday I counted calories, and I should be good for today, too. Two more days... Anti-cheese-and-egg-roll success, too.

E-freaking-gad, chicks.

And that's about all I have to say.

Food = mindless, both eating and not
Water = not so much
Exercise = do marathon typing/coding sessions count? No? Bugger.

TBJ: I totally don't think I could give up cheese OR eggrolls! Especially not cheese though. Wow. Totally impressed. And YAYAYAY at passing the bar (not that I had any doubts you would )!! I would have celebrated with a bit of goofiness myself.

Jess: A rowing maching--I'm sooo jealous! Of course, there's a little rowing attachment thingy on my weight machine, but it's just not the same. I <3 rowing machines! Good luck with the coke/ice cream limitation venture!

MsRD: Woot! Congrats on another pound lost! You are doing so well!

OK, I've gotta get back to work. Ah, the lifestyle of the rich and famous (unfortunately without the "rich" part)...

Red face

Evening all!

As far as the diet goes, this week has been.....bad day, good day, bad day, good day. Does this mean I have a well 'balanced' life? Ok. Didn't think so. It is only Wednesday and I am soooo not looking forward to weigh in on Saturday......maybe a few sessions with Leslie and I can at least maintain.

Jess....The last post just shouted positive attitude! You are getting your stuff together in a pile! Glad to hear you work for good people.....sounds like they are in your corner!

TBJ......Congrats on the sterling performance passing your bar exam! You put an extraordinary lot of work into it......and I am glad it is over for you. Have you found a suitable job yet?

Elisha.....You aren't the only one doing 'mindless eating'. I was on the phone tonight and just ate anything and everything within reach! What was I thinking!?! Next time, I think I will find some laundry to fold.....or SOMETHING!

Nothing much else new here.....we are expecting a winter storm tonight.....sleet, freezing rain, and snow. Tomorrow's commute should be interesting.

Okay so I'm still sick it seems... blaaah I am SO SICK of this cold! (It's been 3 weeks!) No real workout since Tuesday because I've felt icky. And food has sucked.

And tonight is no exception. However... I have a killer headache and I haven't eaten anything with nutritonal value since 6am, so I am having pizza for dinner. At least it has protein? Ehh....

Water has also sucked and I know that's making everything worse. Tomorrow will be a crazy water day. And if I feel this crappy I'm staying home and working here all day.

I'll respond to posts later... but I wanted to keep myself accountable. This week has been awful for me, food/workout wise. And water... at least I didn't attack the Ben & Jerry's in my freezer, right?

Jess, yeah, hunger headaches are nasty. They make you want to eat a . Gr.

MsRD Yep, I found a great job.

Elisha -- Yeah, the cheese thing is hard, but it feels good to overcome an obstacle.

Speaking of which, I only made it two of four days with counting calories. Oh well. I lost weight this week, and I am keeping to my cheese and eggroll abstinence.

Hi ladies,

I'd like to join your support group. I'm looking to lose a lot of weight and would love a year-long challenge with a motivational group of people. I'm not following any particular diet though I will be counting calories.

Welcome, Mariam! This is a great group of chickies, even if we don't always update as often as we should.

I just did 2 miles on the elliptical and 10 minutes on the rowing machine. Hooooly crap I'm made of jello! All of me! Feels great!

Food hasn't been too bad:

B - Pria bar, stretch island fruit leather, little OJ carton (2 fruit servings)
L - A coke?
D - I'm thinking... rice a roni with some chopped up veggies at the end.
Snacks: 2 soft pretzels (100 cal each) and a huge FF white chocolate iced mocha (which is 50% ice so that's helpful). What can I say - it's Monday!

In other news... that's it? I think.

Hope you guys are all doing well! I'll post again later!

~Jess

Well, we seem to have quieted down.

Miriam, welcome.

Ah, the cheese and egg roll sacrifice has gone well. Today I went out to eat, and ordere a salad with no cheese. When the waiter brought a salad with cheddar on top, I sent it back. Willpower working.

But, yeah, you just read the words "out to eat..." Today was definitely a red day. Ugh, I feel stuffed and slightly nauseated.

Well, tomorrow should be better. How 'bout this: I'll actually decide tonight what I will eat tomorrow. thinking... OK, I've got it.

Happy days, chickies.

Talking

Hello all!

What do you mean.....it's Wednesday already? Weigh in was, well, kind of stressful......scale said I had gained 6 pounds!!!! In one week? I'm good, but I'm not that good! Then, I remembered that the scale got slid around while DH & I were hanging a shelf in the laundry room.......and when I set it back down on the floor, I had to readjust it back to zero. Hmmmm......I had DD weigh herself and she said it was 5 pounds more than her scale at home, so I can subtract 5 pounds from my weight with a clear conscience. Whew!

JKitty......You still have that cold? Three weeks is too long ( you probably know that by now)......try focusing on getting some nutritious food (and maybe some vitamins) in you. You need some fuel for all that exercise!

TBJ......Glad to hear about the great job! And that the scale went down! AND that you have the willpower to send food back when not as ordered! You keep the rest of us going!

Mariam.....WELCOME!! You are going to find this to be a great group of chickies....very supportive and helpful! We all use different diet programs....just do whatever works for you.

I have been cleaning out closets! I just chucked 5 garbage bags of still-good stuff in the trunk of my car and will drop it off at Goodwill tomorrow morning. Wow! Feels soooooo good!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes! Everyone is doing so well with their eating plans I hope to follow suit soon! This week my biggest stepping stone was getting a gym membership. I've been eating out less also and hopefully will get a meal-plan together this weekend to transition my diet to a better one. I'm so tired of this weight that has been holding me down and keeping me from doing the things I want to do (not to mention wearing the clothes I want to wear, not have to wear just b/c they are the only ones that fit). Sorry for the mini rant!

I'm trying to locate a site online to keep a food journal. If anyone knows of a good one please let me know!

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Mariam

Oh dear, has it really been that long since I've checked in here? Yes? Well... sorry.

Busy, busy, you know how it goes. Last week Steve and I ate so much fast food it's not even funny. Any my body hates me for it. Ugh.

This week I'm off from work and making the conscious effort not to eat fast food. I'm still not eating great, but better than I was (I'm always saying that, and it's not really any better, I just have periods where it's worse... *sigh*). Water is ok... didn't really try that hard today, as I seem to have a sore throat and it makes swallowing hard. Hopefully that will be better tomorrow and I can get some fluids in me.

I am getting loads of exercise though, as we're remodeling our bathroom, and I'm spring cleaning this week while I'm off. (Yeah, I know, remodeling and cleaning at the same time? I'm a crazy person, it's been well documented, thankyouverymuch.) Also in there has been some DDR, and if the weather is decent--which it's supposed to be--and I don't feel like utter crap, there will be walking with the dog.

Ugh.

So. How's it with all of you? Chickies, where are you?

Hi chickies!

Long time, no post!! Things are going VERY well here! Tons of new projects rolling in at work, which means lots of stuff for me to do.

Workouts have been intermittent but food & water have been awesome. AND my stomach has been cooperative for a few days now! wooo!!

I ordered the WATP 3-workout DVD with the ab band thingey - I'll try it out tomorrow before work.

I AM, hwoever... WAY back down on the scale! I'd gone back up to 195-ish from that awful cold.

Drum roll, please....

184!!!

So that's about it for me. Gonna go hang out with my parents on Saturday. Hanging out with the guy i'm seeing (maybe i'll call him a bf?) the rest of the weekend. Looking forward to that, definitely!

Also if you chickies are looking for a good movie... Black Snake Moan was AMAZING. And SamJ really DOES sing and play the guitar in that movie. Much fun!

Take care chickies, and hope all is well!!

WOW - has it been that long since I posted!? Yikes!

Been doing great with food, not so great with the workouts (altho an alternative to a formal workout has been found and it seems to work quite well).

Work is completely INSANE and everything else seems to be a little crazy too.

Happy chocolate bunny day, everybody! Hope some of you chickies update soon!
