Cyndi one of the best things my sponsor ever told me is that my abstinence can begin the minute after my last binge. Because we slip and fall doesn't mean we have to give up on our progress. You keep going forward with what you are doing right now. Being aware of what your eating and not bingeing, and sharing here are big helps.

Do you journal? or have another outlet for personal growth?

I am doing fine girls. Working on my Step 2 stuff, firing all my small gods. I gave the first pink slips out tonight, I didn't realize saying goodbye would be liberating and scary. But I have fired the diet gods from my life and the doctrine/interpetations of spirituality by people other than me. This is Chris's path and she is blazing her own trail.

Thanks Rochemist, I appreciate the encouraging words!

I was wondering what being in recovery of our eating actually means? If we mess up, does that mean we go into recovery each time? Or is being in recovery, meaning that we have acknowledged we are weak and cannot do it alone, and that we desire to care more about what we are eating and our health, and by acknowledging that, it is "that" which has brought a person into recovery?

I'm just wondering, because I see so many of your posts speaking of being in recovery since a certain time. I hope (and look forward to) that I will one day be able to say I am recovery also.

Thanks again for all the encouraging words and support!

From the time you acknowledge your powerless over food and continue to move forward in your process of recovery (despite any slips you might have) you are making progress
