my gym is in the upstairs portion of the grocery store - over the BAKERY! - so we smell fresh made bread and chocolate chip cookies the entire time we are working out...then I have to go downstairs (starving post work out) with both my boys and get groceries... which also means a trip to the cookie counter for their free cookie... to make matters worse, when we arrived at the bakery portion yesterday, they had the display wide open so alllll you could smell was chocolate and sweets... i secretly hoped one of my boys would act poorly so i could take away their cookie and eat it myself! we made it through groceries and home for a healthy lunch!

Skyra 01-17-2010 11:22 AM

I said no to a thick cheese-and-bacon soup ... chose a vegetable broth-based soup instead :)

I went to a buffet today & made excellent choices! =) Nothing breaded or drenched in gravy. One trip through the buffet line, not 3! Ate very sensibly and allowed myself one small brownie from the AMAZING dessert section. They had carrot cake, with all that yummy cream cheese frosting, and it was calling my name.....but I didn't give in!
My husband told me he was proud of me on the way home!

PurpleDaisy 01-19-2010 08:16 AM

Last night my sister brought over some chocolate chip shortbread cookies and a jumbo hot chocolate. I didn't even look at the cookies and dumped the hot chocolate down the sink!

NebraskaLady 01-19-2010 07:05 PM

I managed to turn down chocolate cake and caramel rolls, from a 79 year old lady!! She is the person that I have the most trouble saying no to, because I don't want to hurt her feelings. To my surprise, she was actually proud of me for saying, "NO THANK YOU" Somehow I just need to get her to not even offer the stuff to me.

starchild 01-19-2010 07:38 PM

I said "no" to breakfast at McDonalds, then this evening I said "no" to croutons on my already delicious salad.

Feels good!

Aclai4067 01-19-2010 07:41 PM

I was pre-cooking spaghetti and meatballs for later in the week. And I said no to eating it today instead, because I know I don't have enough points today.

ohmanda 01-19-2010 08:24 PM

I said no to sharing an artichoke spinach dip with a friend at work.

ibcnuldu 01-19-2010 08:35 PM

A second girl scout cookie

Skyra 01-19-2010 10:22 PM

I knew my friend and I were going to go out tonight for dessert -- I just got a raise (woohoo!) and we planned a celebration ahead of time. Instead of blowing the whole day, I counted my calories carefully and saved enough room to be able to have cake with her. Double woohoo! I feel really good about it.

DogMomNP 01-20-2010 08:24 AM

Last night: Starbucks: I was there for a skinny latte. I saw cupcakes (had never seen them before @ Starbucks): choc, vanilla, Red Velvet! They looked really good. I figured they were probably 450 cal, and I resisted.

I looked it up today: Good thing I resisted : the calories ranged from from 410for vanilla, 420 for chocolate, to 450 for the Red Velvet one!!

That would definitely have to be something I "saved up" calories for on a special day.

today is officially day 7 of no binging...well tonight, so if i make it tonight its a week of no binging. Im down 3 lbs..im happy with that. Last night I went to the 99 with a couple friends. Very determined to do well and stick to my diet I ordered a buffalo chicken salad with blu cheese crumbles, forgot to ask for grilled chicken so it came back with delicious looking fried chicken tenders smoothered in buffalo sauce mmmm I ate 1 of the 5 fried tenders and some letus and tomatoe and a very litte bit of the blu cheese. I EVEN HAD THE LEFTOVERS IN MY FRIDGE ALL NIGHT INCLUDING COUNTRY FRIED CHICKEN FOR SOMEONE ELSE AND DIDDNT THING TWICE ABOUT THEM!!!! i feel really good today

Lizaly 01-20-2010 02:23 PM

I'm on day 3 of no binging... and I said no to tuna salad made with at least a ton of mayonaise. I feel kind of crappy though. TOM is due

ajowens 01-20-2010 02:24 PM

Perogies! MMmm I loved them.

belezura 01-20-2010 02:26 PM

I turned down this filling cake called Devil Dog... it is a chocolate cake with a cream filling.... It wasn't the hardest thing to say no to, but it was tempting...

amymac 01-20-2010 04:13 PM

hubby brought home 2 dozen krispy kreme donuts, my absolute fav and normally I would eat a dozen within two days but I didn't even have one.

Bamachic 01-20-2010 07:04 PM

I turned down Krispy Kreme too. So hard to be strong some days.

2FatGranny 01-20-2010 07:06 PM

I have said no to Diet Dr. Pepper two days in a row now.

I keep reading here that you should cut out diet soda however, I am not sure why. Any how, I decided to give it a try and see if it helped any since I am stuck.

MapleLeaf 01-20-2010 09:21 PM

Tonight I said no to M&Ms and cookies that were offered at a work function.

VeeDeValentine 01-21-2010 04:32 AM

Way to go everyone! :D I'm really proud of you all :)

Lil Judy 01-21-2010 06:56 AM

I said no to stuffed-crust pizza, and had a salad instead! :smug:

PastelApple 01-21-2010 07:40 PM

I had fried okra AND a roll with honey butter for dinner tonight...and candy at lunch...I've been feeling really bad about it. But I didn't let my bad feelings continue the cycle and I skipped dessert (which I didn't even want anyways.)

Try, try again!

NebraskaLady 01-21-2010 11:30 PM

I was at a friend's house and she offered me some fudge. I very politely said, "no thank you". Sometimes I wonder if people offer me this stuff just to see if I really will turn it down.

mayness 01-22-2010 12:13 PM

I said "no" to rewarding myself with food!

I had my annual gyn appointment and it took FOREVER... it took a while to get in, and then from the time the nurse left until the NP came in for the exam I was waiting a half hour with nothing to do!

It was such a hassle that I thought about stopping by the cafe in the bookstore and buying some chocolate on the way back to work. But I didn't... instead I went over to the office supplies (I LOVE pens, notebooks, etc) but I didn't buy anything there, either!

So, no wasted money, and no extra calories.

Chick Fil-A Chicken Minis

Lizaly 01-24-2010 11:06 AM

I said no to home made milk rice pudding my mom made this morning. Then, she left to run errands and reminded me to help myself. I took some of it, wrapped it in kitchen paper and put it outside in the trash.
I'll tell her it tasted great later.
I feel guilty, but I'm proud of myself at the same time. Milk rice pudding is one of the worst, I can't remember ever having it without binging afterwards.

Thighs Be Gone 01-24-2010 11:08 AM

My girls wanted Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast so I took them. I came home and ate blueberries and yogurt. :) Honestly, today is one of those days the choice was easy for me.

Skyra 01-24-2010 01:48 PM

I had to go to the pharmacy and wait for a prescription to be filled. While waiting, I wandered around the store ... so many bad-for-you snacks! I didn't buy a single one... not even a diet soda... :D

Lizaly 01-24-2010 02:02 PM

sorry, wrong topic.

Passionista 01-24-2010 02:05 PM

I said NO to a friend who is coming over and offered to pick me up something to eat on the way (our usual is VERY fattening taco shop drive through!) and instead had reduced fat Triscuits, low sodium V8 and veggie protein slices for "brunch"!

happytobeamomof2 01-24-2010 04:52 PM

Last night my new boyfriend and I made banana bread. I only had one small piece and had accounted for it in my daily calories before embarking on the adventure. At the end of it, he says "wow, there is a lot of sugar in this - I didnt realise that - Do you think you could find a recipe with less sugar for next time?" I think this guy is a keeper!!!!

Deana 01-24-2010 06:53 PM

I said "no" to laying on the couch all day (which was REALLY hard). I got up and did a 5.5 mile run :-)

greeneggsandtam 01-24-2010 09:43 PM

I bought groceries today and instead of two huge bags of chips for my husband and I, I bought a little chocolate bar that three of us shared for dessert. Rather than chips and the football game tonight, we're having white tea and honey.

NightAngel26 01-24-2010 09:48 PM

What did I say "NO" to?

hmmm..... well, not an extra portion of pasta... but I did say no to a chocolate bar, ice cream, and a sandwich. ;)

anna1184 01-24-2010 10:44 PM

i said no to going to the store and getting ingredients to bake cupcakes... baking is my weakness.

charlottekelsey 01-24-2010 11:04 PM

chocolate chip cookies at the show i went to. not even a bite offered by my mother who needs to stop tempting me!!! and then i said no to cake at dinner (in which i had veggies, sweet potato, and grilled turkey with salsa. MMM. and for dessert i had fage greek yogurt with protein powder and stevia...didn't quite hit the spot but i am satisfied.

belezura 01-28-2010 03:05 PM

I said no to a stupid pastry with cream cheese filling that are sold in boxes at grocery stores...
so not worth the calories!!!

mytime2Bsuccessful 01-28-2010 11:04 PM

I said No today to fast food. I have school on Tuesday and Thursday and it was my routine to get something to eat on my way home. I feel so good for making this change.
