OH LORD. The last 24 hours have been insane. I've said no to a lot of things that I really wanted at the Grocery Store... notably these absolutely divine apple cookies (that my bf bought and brought home! ahhhh) and I said no to those cookies several times over the course of the evening, when they were staring at me from across the room. Also I threw out half a cheesecake and some leftover cake (my absolute favorite lemon raisin cake) that was sitting in the bottom part of the refrigerator. Also said no to a Hershey's bar with almonds - opting for a diet hot cocoa instead. =) I'm new to this whole saying no thing.... but I have to say I think its a sign that I am ready to start loving myself again.

This is a fabulous thread and I have to say I feel very good posting all the things I said no to. ;)

What did I refuse today?

well I havent seen anything bad yet today, but yesterday I said no to seconds at dinner, a chocolate bar, and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. :carrot:

karen36 02-25-2010 01:32 PM

very pleased with myself today...said no to greggs sausage roll or a cake...was really tempted.

belezura 02-25-2010 04:27 PM

I said no to a stupid Brugger's pastry at the lunch room

fruitlady 02-25-2010 06:00 PM

I posted earlier today and I chose to eat berries instead of peanut butter. Well I could not stand it anymore and I went for the peanut butter, but I only had 3 tablespoons and said no more. Usually I eat almost the whole jar! I'm so happy I said no!

MamaP 02-25-2010 06:08 PM

I didn't even go near the candy dish at work.

cheerios 02-25-2010 06:32 PM

i said no to seconds :O

mindNb0dy 02-25-2010 07:44 PM

I'm babysitting tonight - nervous cuz its day 2 of P1 & there will be snacks to munch on for the kids, available to me too. My goal is to say NO to snacks and report back here tonight.

fruitlady 02-26-2010 01:29 PM

I'm in between breakfast and lunch right now and I'm getting hungry. I am saying no to having anything else to eat til I have lunch. It's only a half an hour away. I can make it!

milliondollarbbw 02-26-2010 04:02 PM

I avoided chocolate and ice cream and chips today. Yay! :)

SpinQueen 02-26-2010 08:43 PM

newbie here :)

hubby ordered pizza & wings *sigh*
I had scrambled eggs & toast ... pretty boring but at least I didn't go near that dang pizza box!! lol

I say no to snacks

Today, as is everyday, a blessing. I've been abstinent for 30 days and thank God for stopping those horrible cravings. Being a grazer......honestly, whatever was edible, my days were filled with stuffing myself with snacks of any kind. What I've learned through OA is that when I'm in the food, I'm really avoiding my real feelings. I'm not engaging with my husband the way that I should. I tend to stay at home, on the couch. So, today, I said "no" to those snacks that kept me from being the clear headed woman I am today.

JustSharing83 02-27-2010 03:50 AM

I have a really bad cold and I'm used to lots of comfort food when I'm sick... I mentioned to my husband that I had a strong craving for cake and ice cream that came out of nowhere and he asked if I wanted him to go get it. I said no and had some sugar free pudding instead. :)

fruitlady 02-27-2010 02:05 PM

I wanted to continue eating after breakfast even though I was full. So I got the blueberries and f.f whipped cream out and pigged out on them instead of my usual peanut butter that makes me gain so much weight. I said no peanut butter!

giffy68 02-27-2010 07:10 PM

said no to a custard filled chocolate donut and hello to chocolate cheerios instead!

Bridezilla 02-28-2010 03:51 AM

said NO to sharing any of my bf's frozen dinner. Was originally planning on sharing, didn't think it would be so bad but looked at the calories (860!!!) and the fat (50G) and said... NO thank you. Had a fiber bar instead. =p

NightAngel26 02-28-2010 12:29 PM

so far...

I said no to a fattening breakfast! :carrot:

Skyra 02-28-2010 01:56 PM

yesterday a friend came over, and we went to the gas station to get snacks, but i limited myself to one small box of snack food instead of, for example, buying a whole bag of chips. sure, it was still 400 calories of candy, but i budgeted for it and that's a lot better than what i used to do!

fruitlady 02-28-2010 02:22 PM

I said no to nutella and the natural peanut butter today. I was really tempted but not really hungry.

Smiller264 02-28-2010 02:32 PM

I said No last night to pizza. My younger sister was having a huge high school after dance party with 25 kids over (not exaggerating at all, the house was PACKED!) and pizza was everywhere. I only had a protein shake for lunch and was starving. I grabbed a Chobani blueberry greek yogurt and some fresh blueberries. I'm absolutely addicted to greek yogurt. I think it's my lifesaver when I need something to fill me up immediately and I'm trying so hard not to hit the junk food, plus it has the protein I want.

BellaDiva 02-28-2010 03:17 PM

I said no to the entire container of yogurt. Doesn't sound like much, I know, but being in college you try your darndest to stretch a dollar.

eratosthanes 02-28-2010 04:54 PM

I said no to the rest of the can of artichokes. I would normally eat the whole can, but these were NASTY! I have eaten nasty food to keep it from the garbage before, but NOT today!

Skyra 02-28-2010 06:41 PM

My roommate brought home Cinnabon today to celebrate quitting her job (she's a full-time student, the job was very stressful, she was miserable all the time etc). I took a deep breath, cut the cinnamon bun into 4 pieces, and just had one piece. I'm worried, because there are still cinnamon buns lurking in the kitchen.... I have to continue to say NO.

fruitlady 03-01-2010 01:38 PM

I said no to natural peanut butter again! I do that a couple times a day. lol

diornotwar 03-01-2010 02:39 PM

i said NO to the delicious cupcakes in my kitchen. still resisting! lol

MamaP 03-01-2010 02:48 PM

Today I said no to fast food. I had to run an errand on my lunch hour and I was starving . . . I chewed a piece of gum and that helped hold off my hunger until I got back to the office and could eat my WW Smart One meal - I passed several fast food places - one of which was Sonic, which currently has an amazing "limited time only" shake (sweetheart shake - cherry vanilla and dark chocolate) that I quickly got addicted to last month and haven't had in two weeks now.

So, I ate my healthy lunch and then had a "cherry vanilla" light and fit yogurt.

belezura 03-01-2010 03:01 PM

I said NOOOOOOOOO to a bunch of mini chocolate bars and some stupid pastries.... :/ They still sitting there at the lunch room :(

OK Lizzy 03-01-2010 04:10 PM

I said "no" this morning to doughnuts in the Break Room.

milliondollarbbw 03-01-2010 04:17 PM

I said no to a breakfast burrito today. I was really fiending for one, but there are sooo many things in the burrito that I am avoiding eating right now, so, I decided to just try and ignore those cravings as best as possible.

I am glad I did because I have already eaten lunch, am still below my 1200 calorie limit, and didn't binge on the foods I am not supposed to eat. Yay! :)

Shytowngal 03-01-2010 04:24 PM

I said no to a co-worker trying to share her girl scout cookies with me. The thin mints are only 1pt each (ww), but I knew I'd end up having 5 or 6, so I said no!

ThinkinThin 03-01-2010 07:22 PM

I said no to those magical mystical milkshakes that seem to have a hold on my on the way home from work.

eratosthanes 03-01-2010 08:12 PM

Congrats to you all, esp. you ThinkinThin. It is SO hard to say no to milkshakes, lol.

I said no to the fried rice and egg roll that came with my lunch. I also said no to half the sauce, but yes to 3 crab rangoon (only 1/2 the order). So, I ended up only eating 550 cal for lunch, and walked 6.9 miles today which more than made up for it!

fattiegirl 03-01-2010 10:18 PM

I said no to a table full of cakes, cookies and doughnuts in the breakroom....I must really be ready to do this!

milliondollarbbw 03-01-2010 11:16 PM

I said no to a sugary drink in my fridge that is calling my name. I don't know why I am hesitant to just throw it out.

Some family stuff is stressing me out, and I am trying to not let it bother me. I know that it would be so easy to push me into eating bad again. I feel like I cannot give in even a tiny bit to whatever craving I may have---unless it is a craving for a healthy food. :)

ThinkinThin 03-02-2010 07:53 PM

Today, I said no to a bag of those little red Swedish fish candies. Didn't need the sugar rush. So glad I avoided the urge.

milliondollarbbw 03-02-2010 09:36 PM

I said no to going thru the drive-thru. I was sooo tempted and I thought I could just get a big soda and not think bad about it because i was so thirsty and had been good all day. I am glad I said no and just went home and am now drinking my sparkling water.

MamaP 03-02-2010 10:13 PM

I said no to twice baked potatoes and chose green beans and brussel sprouts instead.

eratosthanes 03-02-2010 10:37 PM

I said no to fast-food, even though I binged on cereal last night and decided to have my one off-day per week today instead of tomorrow. I had a delicious Subway sandwich instead, and a wonderful low-cal salad for dinner, plus lots of yummy seafood with lemon planned for supper! It feels SO good to still be eating healthy on the one day I don't count my calories!

belezura 03-03-2010 01:41 PM

Peanuts!!!! delicious salted peanuts in shells that are at the lunch room...
You don't understand: I LOVE peanuts!
But I said NO N-O NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

fruitlady 03-03-2010 05:42 PM

I ate way too much yesterday, so I said no to anything that is not part of my regular diet.
