Sue: Sounds like you did a LOT of work (emotional and physical) yesterday. And hopefully the scale is friendly to you

Lacey: I couldn't lurk....so you can't either. Get your butt out here and post!!

Morgaine: I don't allow myself to think of what pork rinds really are. I just close my eyes and say "it's only popcorn". Hope you're feeling better soon.

Stacy:

Robin: Umm....avoid the fight altogether? Just do the best you can. Tell yourself that YOU are worth staying on track and that you'll feel worse after things settle down and you're not in the "mood" anymore. Go to the gym and punch a punching bag??

Falon: WTG on getting at least a mile in! It's better than nothing!! Keep up the great work and hope the cramps go away soon!

Well, half the water is in. We have bowling on Friday and I'm trying to figure out what to drink while I'm there. Usually I have diet Coke. It's cheaper than other soda they have there. I guess a couple cans just 1 day won't hurt. Just get back to being no-soda the next day. That sounds like a plan I'm SOOO hungry for nuts! You know, those peanuts in the shell? They sound SO good right now. I had a handful at my moms house on Saturday and ate the shell and all. She thought I was nuts but YUMMY!!!

shell and all? ewww. Well I guess you got some fiber anyway!

Well the scale for me was back down to 246 today. I had to practically starve yesterday for this loss, so I'm not particularly happy with it. Why? Because I know when I do that it will backfire on me. I'll probably gain like crazy today and be back up to 250 or something tomorrow in a rebound effect.

I wasn't intentionally "starving" myself, but I was trying to stay on plan and there just wasn't much food in the house. Not a lot that is approved Atkins anyway.

So today I must go grocery shopping. I hate doing that when I'm hungry and I am hungry today. But it can't be helped.

I think the talk with the new Big boss went well. We actually had a conversatin after work today and well I do see another side of the woman. I hope it stays. I found out that my boss is going to be out for a few months. and she is just sick about it. she was crying at work today (came it to see us all) and well that is not good. she will have surgery in about 10 days.

the scale did move and down further than yesterday so I will post my weight in my ticker. down 6 lbs from 235 to 229.

Woo hoo Sue!!! Congrats!

Off to bed early. I'm wooped.. it was a long day. I did my 3.5 miles on the track, and then had to walk about another mile in 4 different department store looking for a red skirt! *sigh* No luck. My daughter is an Irish step-dancer, and it's a performance skirt. If I don't find it by Saturday, she doesn't perform.

So I want to get up in the morning, and get to the gym for a repeat. Then I have to hunt this darn skirt.. Thrift stores weren't fruitful either!

Ok, off my b*tch box!

Good night ladies.. I hope you all have a wonderful nites sleep. See you in the morning.

Sherry I bet it stays down so long as you stay on track the next few days. Increase your food for sure, so you definately don't end up in starvation mode. You are starting to kick butt!! Keep it up - you can beat this blue episode you're having. *winks*

I have been having a little 8oz bottle of that Coke Zero every few days, and I haven't seen any side effects as far as loss. If I do, i'll cut it out for sure. I don't see why you should beat yourself up at the bowling alley. However, if you think it might affect you, stop at the corner store and get a big bottle of water to take in!

Enjoy yourself either way, and congrats on the scale move!!!

Congrats Sue!! Keep up the good work.

Sherry hang in there. I know that you can do it.

Falon good luck with that skirt and great job on going to the gym.

Ok well as for me, I have been walking with my friend after work cause I am too tired to hit the gym in the mornings and it feels great. We walk 4.5 miles and I figure that is better than nothing. I havent weighed myself like I promised I wouldnt and I will wait until Sunday to do so to see what I have lost. I got a 2nd interview at a job that would just make my life so much easier so you ladies keep your fingers crossed that I get it. The hours will also help me to be able to hit the gym in the mornings again cause I sure do miss it. Well I am off to another interesting day at work.

Sherry: Good luck w/the grocery shopping. I HATE shopping lately as it's always SO expensive now. Guess I best get used to it because it's not going to get cheaper. Let us know about the scale!!

Lacey: Complain away. We all do it at one time or another and it's another way we can support you

Sue: Sounds like a stressful situation for your boss. Glad you had that talk as it'll help her be less stressed (hopefully). WTG on the weight loss...and I LOVE listening to bagpipe music!! You're lucky! My daughter wants to play the DRUMS!!

Falon: Good luck on the skirt. Any way to sew one together quick? WTG on the exercise!!

Iluvmike: WTG on the exercise!! 4.5 miles is AWESOME!!!!

Got my water in yesterday...but "slipped" a bit off program with "tasting" food. Had a few bites of chicken tikka marsala to see what it tasted like...and had a chicken eggroll....and some taco meat w/cheese on it. Got home and thought WHAT DID I JUST DO!?!?! ARGH! Then thought..ok. No sweat. Back to it tomorrow

Mornin Ladies!

Lacey - for crying out loud, what is this place for if we can't complain? Let it out woman! It's hazardous for your health to keep it in!

Sherry - I read the thread about bleeding, but wanted to say, if it happens again, please take it seriously enough to call the doc. There doesn't seem to be any logical reason for it, and I can't say I have ever come across anything nutrition-wise that would cause it. *shrugs*

4.5 miles? Wow! Congrats! I'm 4'11 so walking the 3.5 is like 5 to my wee little legs. I don't think I could do more than that! LOL

Brenda - like you said - NO SWEAT! It doesn't sound like you gorged on the stuff you can't have. You'll get back on track!

Sue - Your son sounds like my kinda kid. I am Scotch-Irish, and the sound of those bagpipes are in my blood. When I hear them I melt. Also, I have the major hots for a guy in a kilt! Know what they wear under them?? Absoultely nothing!! I don't know if you believe in past lives, but it could be something that he experienced in another time, that has drawn him to the pipes.

As for the skirt, I wish I would have known I wasn't going to find one or I would have sewn one up. I don't think I can get one done by Saturday. I'm not that good. So that is my quest today. I am going to the gym again this morning, and then look again. My last and finaly hope is the mall which I hate to go walk into, but oh well...*sigh*

Have a good one ladies, and remember today is a new day!

Morning ladies!

Robin, next time do what Brenda said but when you go to the gym to use the punching bag, print off a picture of his face and tape it to the bag. I used to do that with my ex-MIL. Or you could just have a pillow fight between the two of you -- bet it kills the argument really quick and leads to using the pillows for better exercise.

Falon - can you find a white skirt and dye it red??

My DH was let go from his job yesterday. We've decided to try letting him be a house husband for a few months and then he may just go back to work part time and take care of the house the other part. I like it when he does that. All I have to do then is go to work and take care of me. I left him a huge to-do list -- if I write it down, he'll do it.

Brenda, me too. I hate grocery shopping. Especially when even the cheapy places can wind up costing you a LOT of money. Meats have all gone up so much and milk. In our area you can buy 2 gallons of milk for just under 5 dollars (at some stores) but if you buy one gallon alone it is over 3 dollars.

I went to one store the other day that I've always gotten that deal at, and the store is closing, can't stay in business. They had all these signs around the store for how everything was 10 or 20 or 30 percent off. The milk was supposed to be 10 percent off, but when I went to buy my two gallons like I usually do, they were going to charge me over 7 dollars! (this with a "10% discount")

I told them no way am I paying that and to take them back off the list of things I was buying.

Then last night at the grocery store my son decided he wanted a 5 subject spiral bound tablet of paper. They rang it up at 7 dollars or more! I was appalled! Told them to put it back, I didn't want it at that price.

You really have to watch things. It is amazing to me how much some things can vary in cost from one store to another.

Anyway My scale gave me briefly this morning a glimpse at 245.5 So I'm taking it! It's MINE. Now that I have it set right it is measuring a fat percentage of 49%. I don't like that, but it is better than 64 or higher that it was telling me back when it thought I was 5'2"....

I noticed this morning that my face is getting that look I didn't want. The one I saw on my sister not too long ago after she lost so much weight. I've lost my double chin. My skin indents under my chin and my neck is starting to look "old". Thinner, but funny and crepey.

Anyway I bought some cocoa butter yesterday. I remember when I was pregnant with my first child my mother told me to rub it on my stomach as it grew that it would make the skin more elastic and I wouldn't get stretch marks. I didn't. I did get them with my next two because I forgot about that good advice.

So I am going to be rubbing my skin with this and see if I can keep it elastic enough that it will shrink back as I lose the weight and not become baggy. My neck looked better this morning after I rubbed some there, and I don't think it was just my imagination....

Afternoon

Susan~ you're ex mil thats too funny!! I had decided that it wasnt for me to (this time) to insist on talking thru it. Simply because it wasnt my fault, and if he wanted to work it out....he'd come to me. So, he lasted about 48 hrs of my not speaking to him. Im not a fighter, which he finds very hard to deal with sometimes. He'd rather I ranted and raved and got it out in the open. Well, if I let that loose, we would have alot of broken windows....thats where I tend to throw things. So I tend to internalize....think the worst and hope for the best. Anyway, he addressed it, and things are on their way back to being good again.

Eating hasnt been good, actually not at all I havent been to the gym, simply because I didnt think I could keep my **** together long enough while I was there. So...its a bit better this afternoon. We finally got some grocery shopping done, and I found a new butcher, with some awesome prices...boneless skinless haddock for 3.69 a lb!!! Plus lamb loins for$5.99 a lb!! So, Im going to go back after I have tested what Ive bought, and if its good, I'll stock up.

I havent had a chance to catch up on personals, I'll do that tomorrow. Its still been fairly busy around here. If the weather holds, my mom will be coming for visit for the weekend.

Have a great evening ladies
Robin

Default Huzzah!!!

I found a damn red skirt! *doing happy dance*
I went to our Super Walmart and they had a section with several of different colors, including red! They are sort of cheer leader style (which is what they wanted) and have shorts built in under for when she does her high kicks.

Just thrilled as heck. Susan, I wanted to find a white one and dye it but couldn't even find one of those.

Ok, got the gym in today. Did 2 miles on the track, and did a little more that 1.5 on the treadmill at an incline. Water could have been better, but hey...

Robin- So going to the gym and taking your anger out there isn'nt an option? I could just see myself doing that, but my husband and I never fight (yeah, I know we're freaks) but, if we ever did, I might go there before physically hurting him. LOL

Susan - sorry about your DH's job loss. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Having a husband at home doesn't sound so bad. I think mine would stink at the it, but I don't know since i've never had him do my job. LOL

Sherry - Milk is right under $5 here in Colorado also. It absolutely sucks the way the prices are going. My husband is a truck driver, and as long as the gas prices keep rising, so will food and other amenities. Everything pretty much moves by trucks in this country and diesel is still higher that regular. That's how they keep sticking to to us. Well.. one of the ways at least.
