Good Morning all!

I am having my cup of java at the moment. TOM is fast approaching and it is one of those mornings where food just doesnt sound good.. know what I mean? I am giving myself another 30-40 minutes and then making some eggs!

Today I have lots of real Work to do at home. My job work. So I will be on the computer all day! But I am sure I will get a lot accomplished! (Or at least I am hoping)

Brenda - Make sure you really push the doctor.. I mean that. If they say it is nothing, tell him you want at least x-rays and blood work done! I mean it. Lumps are not a good thing like that. If he wont do it, get a second opinion. I am a huge advocate of telling doctor what you want. If I didnt do that last summer, I would have never found my Insulin resistance.

Jane - WOO HOO on that pound gone! And Italian restaurant? You can eat quite a lot!! As long as they serve some traditional dishes such as Chicken Cacciatore (Make sure they dont put bread crumbs in the sauce, just tomatoes and cheese) Or Rovelini (Beef cutlets with pesto and cheese rolled in the middle fried with a very light tomato sauce).. Make sure to choose entrees with out pasta and breadding on them. And ask that your veggies be steamed with a olive oil dressing. (OK, Can you tell I am Italian? I have learned to make many of my favorites very LOW Carb. And my grandmother made many traditional dishes. Believe it or not, pasta really isnt traditional in The Tuscany area)

Jina - You are almost there! 2 more days this week and then it is the weekend! How far are you moving? Is it to a new city or just across town? Moving and eating for health no matter what WOE you are on doesnt alway work. Trust me! I totally blew it when I was on WW in 2000 and moved from CA to WA. Although that was probably a bigger move than you are doing, any move is stressful!

TG - Good job on the exercise!

Star - When you are done with this project, I hope you will post a picture! I am dying to see it! BTW, does advil affect your weight at all? I noticed that if I take advil I gain a pound or two, but if I take Ibuprofin (the regular generic) I dont.. Is that weird or what? and that is only at TOM time...

Kerri - I have been there too. Motivation wanes from time to time. Like Jane said though, you have to decide that this is what you need to do. It is a WOE and in my case I will have to do it for the rest of my life. I think about my blood suger and the potential for diabetes and that is what keeps me making the right choices.. most of the time. No one is perfect, but as long as you keep going and never give up, it will all come naturally at some point!

Rachel - I have always had my blood work done on an empty stomach. You might want to talk to the doctor about it when you go in next time.

Well, I am off for now.. talk to you all later!

Kerri - Everyone has their own motivational tools. Mine happen to be swimsuits and thong underwear. If I start slacking, I'm just a clothing change away from realizing that I'm not where I need to be yet.

Jane - I'm just so proud of you! Understanding that you are in control of your body and not the other way around makes all the difference.

Karen - I almost died when DH told me about that. He was going to the movies. I COULD HAVE GONE TO THE MOVIES WITH GENE SIMMONS! Argh! Also, advil doesn't seem to affect my weight, but I consistently go up 3 pounds around TOM. I don't worry about it because they always go away and take a friend or two with them on the way out Will you please post some of your italian recipes? I've been in a cooking mood and would love to try some Tuscan dishes.

Rachel - Thanks! It's very strange to look at those numbers for me. And honestly, I don't know where I'm going to stop, but 120 is a good goal for now. Of course, I'm doing the thing I shouldn't do and telling myself "well, maybe 115 or 110 would be better" for some reason being less than 10 pounds away from maintenance scares me.

I've got to do a quick post. Forgot oldest DD had to go for her ortho appointment. Such a busy life today. ARGH!!! Well, the doc appointment went ok. He pushed and pushed and made it hurt worse now. But he's sending me to a orthopoedic specialist tomorrow. Something about a ga-something cyst. Like I've got time to have stuff like that removed. He said I'd be off work and stuff like that. Great (sarcasm!). So tomorrow I get to go to a specialist. Then we'll see where to go from there. I'll try and post later today. If not I'll see you all tomorrow morning (seeing how I don't have to work until next week Tuesday. WOOHOO!!)

Brenda - if it is a ganglion cyst, I had one in my hand! It is a simple procedure to remove, AND sometimes they can just do it in the office. I am glad they are taking it seriously! Ganglion cysts form when the bone is rubbing against itself and the lubrication that makes them move smoothly together form a little sac instead of lubeing the joint. It just keeps getting bigger and can be quite painful!

Star - I'll post some recipes when I have time.. but Honestly most are really just tomato sauce, olive oil and meat... with a few other ingredients to make them taste good I am hot and heavy right now into getting ready for a conference in New Hamphisre next month.. so my time is limited. Ill be done by July 27th though!

Brenda: Yup Karen is right...sounds like a Ganglion Cyst. Get it taken care of.

Karen: Where is NH are you going to be?

Well it has been awfully quiet around here today. I have to leave.....I have my annual gyn visit at 5:00 so I must be off.

I am going to try and get a walk in tonight if I can....I want this pound gone tomorrow!

See you all tomorrow.

Thanks for all the input. This is the first time I've had this motivational low since I started Atkins. I think it may have been being off program for that week, in addition to TOM arriving today. I always craved sweets right before, plus, being off program has probably just added to the sweets cravings.

I'll give it a couple days and maybe I can turn it back around.

Thanks again you guys.

You can do it, Kerri! If it gets bad, just send me your address. I'll go right over and deliver a personalized butt-kicking

(and then count it on my equator trek miles )

Might need that! I just read some stuff on the success board and am starting to feel better. Maybe I just need to buy something cute in a size smaller for motivation. Short and black maybe.

Thanks again Star!
