Good morning all! I think that lack of motivation thing must be going around. I had a very big piece of chocolate cake from Moonstruck Saturday night. BAD, but it tasted good. Not quite as good as I had anticipated though.

I'm with you guys and Shimma on the staying OP for two weeks straight. I need a BIG kick in the rear! Not so much with the food stuff, but with the exercise. Granted I've been fighting a cold, but I haven't done ANY exercise for a whole week now. Yuck. I feel like a slug!

This week WILL be better, I can just feel it!

Happy Monday to all.

Marie: So sorry your head isn't well today Was any of it good at least? I remember when my dh and I had to do our taste testing for our wedding. Yum, free dinner. And the wine we chose was so good.

I can't make it OP for longer than 3 days....highly doubt I'd make it 2 weeks. The only good thing I can claim is most of what I eat (usually) is OP. Last nights noodles weren't. But otherwise it is. At least the ice cream is gone! My legs are screaming at me from the 3 mile walk (up and down hill and sprinting after daughter in between) I did w/my family. ARGH. The walk wouldn't have killed me but the sprinting did. No wonder this white woman doesn't run
Hmm....what's for supper?

OMG kill me! I have no ability to say no to people so my house was the gathering place all weekend. Didn't get to bed before 6:30 all weekend except for last night - I kicked people out at 4. I'm soooooooo tired!

Kerri - what happened to you on Saturday? I was waiting! Did you have a fabulous birthday?

So here's the problem - I got totally toasty on Friday night so I decided I needed to maintain better for the rest of the weekend. That means miller light because it takes me forever to drink on. That also means lots o' carbs! Bad me!!!!!

So funny stories from the weekend. Friday night, after the bar closed, we went to this guy Kelly's house for after hours. It was insane! It was like the entire bar just picked up and went to his house. Lots of drinking, lots of flashing (neither by me!) and we're all having a good time and all of a sudden there's this huge bang and Kelly's yelling at everyone to get out. I was so confused! Turns out someone accidentaly locked the door and so Kelly broke the thing in half trying to get back into the house. He wasn't happy but I thought it was hysterical - once I was safely out of earshot. The girl that locked the door is in big trouble, though.

Saturday was the night of dark clothing. DH and one of the Tims were both wearing black pants, shirts, and leather jackets. I was wearing black tights, tiny skirt, and shirt. And then walking down to the bar got totally funny because here's this little blonde girl walking arm and arm in between 2 tall, skinhead looking guys. People were actually slowing down and looking at us funny. It probably doesn't sound as funny as it was, but I was cracking up. There I am walking in between what are quite possibly the 2 biggest dorkwads on the planet and people are acting scared.

Anyway, Saturday ended at 6:30 in the morning with a couple of extra people at the house and a fierce competition of 'who can say the line first and correctly' while watching the breakfast club. Too fun!

So now I'm wiped out, have no idea what my eating plan is like and seriously need to get back on track. This was so much easier when I didn't have a social life!

Hi Star: Sounds like you had quite a weekend! Sounds like we ALL were carbing this weekend. Must be the time of year.

I don't have a snack for this afternoon!!!! I ate both snacks this morning

I am trying to keep my calories down but that is proving pretty hard with the legal foods I can eat. Don't forget I eat very few veggies......
any suggestions? Today is already at 1400 calories including dinner but if I have any wine or anything it will go up!
I'm going shopping after work and keep telling myself if I break down and have something bad then I don't get to go shopping! I hope that works for the next couple hours........

Jane - learn to like veggies

Seriously, there are all sorts of ways to sneak those little buggers in. Otherwise, you're not getting the right nutrition and you end up eating a bunch of calorie-dense stuff.

I've found that if I'm eating the right combination of foods (read: getting the right nutrition), I am not nearly as hungry. Just a thought.

And yes, the weekend was a blast! There's at least a couple of people that I know who are 'sick' from work today because they're still recovering.

My best advice is to get adventurous. Find recipes and try new things. I have found such amazingly good food that it never would have occured to me to try. You might surprise yourself.

I'm not kidding when I say I don't like vegetables....I just started eating some.....broccoli, spagetti squash. I eat salads but that is about it. I will eat the occasional green bean but can't seem to get them down.

I like tomatoes but they are high, I like acorn squash but it is high.....peas even a little....but they are high.

I need to find some low calorie snacks that are still legal and without going over my 3 cups of veggies a day. I was going to buy strawberries again this week but they looked horrible in the store.

How about zucchini? I've got a fantastic recipe for it grilled and tossed with a basil/lemon sauce. Low carb and yummy.

Or add spinach to your salad? Spinach is one of the best things ever. Low cal, low carb, and tons of nutrients.

You're gonna have to venture out eventually. Try things you haven't thought of - asparagus, brussels sprouts, jicama, collard greens, cactus leaves. Really stalk around the produce section and you'll find a ton of things that you hadn't noticed before.

Oh - and don't worry about going over on the veggies. It's not going to hurt you at all
