Good afternoon everyone...

So, left for "lunch" at 9:30 this morning to go get my hair done for
the wedding next weekend. My hair gal only works M-Th so I only get
my hair done when I absolutely need it since I have to go during my
regular work hours. I wouldn't have gone now except for the wedding.

I got back at 1:30 after sitting through 2.5 hours of color, cut,
style and a brow/lip wax. That was a very long lunch, so now I'll
have to claim some sick time to make up for it. Nothing like the
honor system to keep me honest. =)

My boss was wondering where I had disappeared to. Hopefully when he
gets back from his meeting he'll be a typical "guy" and won't notice
the fact that my hair is now a different color, curly and salon
styled instead of straight out of the shower, and that my lip and
brows are a slightly pink color...

=)

Evening everyone!

Way too much stuff for me to respond individually, but wanted to comment on the soy powder that JJCJ tried.

I use the recipe from the Atkins book for pancakes which uses soy powder, eggs, & water. Problem is, it makes shi**y pancakes!! An absolute gag fest. BUT......I've discovered another use. I make the concoction, then add spices (like garlic powder, chili powder, etc.), fry up little pancakes with it, then top them with chicken, beef, or something like that. Sprinkle some shredded cheese on the top, put them under the broiler, and YUMMMMMMM! If you make the pancakes large enough (which you can do by adding a little extra water), you can make wraps. Give it a whirl girls!

Talking

Almost Friday and I'm hanging in for the weekend. No major plans but we do have a sitter for sat nite so hoping to go out - altho we are experiencing a "negative cash flow" situation so may have to limit our fun!

JJ - where are you located?

Star - sorry to hear about Mr. Mucus.....definitely need those ear plugs or distracting music.

SBM - bet you look gorgeous and you're right, the boss probably won't notice! I am trying to get an appt on the 14th - fully booked and this means I may have to take some "work time" off as well - not sure I can fit this in!

Back in the office today - found some huge big binders on my desk, a brochure for a conference I'm going to attend in April??? and that I am scheduled to go on project management training next week? I THINK NOT!!! Filed binder away for later reading - yes to conf in April - will be attending with a new co-worker colleague who is soon to be hired....and rescheduling the project mgmt training....very busy next week with a consultant we have hired doing one on one interviews with different project leaders on developing aperformance measurement framework (have I bored you to tears yet?)

The most amazing news is my supervisor/friend who hired me, came to my office today and gave me some great "positive reinforcement"...said I was doing a great job "picking up the ball and running with it"....and getting things done! I was SO HAPPY, yet shocked, for as you know I feel so overwhelmed and out of my league in this job, so this was so reaffirming - it almost makes me cry!

I miss my dh even tho we live together - have not seen him for several evenings as he has been working late (monday and tuesday)...I was out at the NYLONS CONCERT last night (which was amazingly fabulous)...tonight he is jamming at a friend's place and I hope he's not home too late! We have a five minute chat in our ensuite every morning but that is usually interrupted by one or more children. I will be so happy when weekend gets here and we can relax and catch up - I have so much to tell him...and going out sat nite will also help (altho we are both so tired we can barely stay up past 10)

Had a run in with some chocolate chip cookie dough this evening - I will try not to obsess about it - but needless to say I should not have ventured anywhere near the stuff! Thought I was stronger (sigh!).

Expecting huge snow tomorrow (as we finish digging out from yesterday's huge snowfall)....kids are excited - I am not - getting dug out again in the morning and driving to work will be challenging to say the least.

Started bc pills two days ago....and my period is now just diminishing (day 11)...this is very weird. I think I might try that back to back pill taking next cycle......assuming I don't have some of that intermittent spotting - if so I think a visit to dr is in order - probably need different brand with differing levels of estrogen/progestin??? What about Seasonale...the one specifically developed for longer term use?

Time to go catch the girls whup the boys on The Apprentice! ha ha.

Hope everyone else is well and planning a fun and relaxing weekend!

The snowstorm has arrived and so has my headache. It's been thumping for quite a few hours now. So this one must be a doozy. And DH leaves for work in a 1/2 hour. He'll be working from 10-6? So far this week he's worked 12 hour days. I can understand what Froufy is talking about when she says she misses DH!!! The only time I get to talk to him (if I dare) is when he's showering. Otherwise I get to wake him up (oh joy-growly bear!!). Told him to call in and tell them he couldn't make it. But he's awake now. I'll have to make sure to go out and start his car early to warm it up. (if I don't start it he doesn't-just gets in, starts it and goes) UGH!!! I hate headaches!!

Does Tylenol affect weight loss? How about sinus meds??

What kind of sinus meds? I have allergies that give me chronic sinusitis... so I'm on a steroid nasal spray and the occasial super-decongestant, and even more occasionally allegra.... So far I think my weight is coming off ok, so MY meds don't seem to be affecting me.
As for OTC sinus meds, stay away from sudafed (have no idea of the spelling) because that coating has GOT to have sugar cause it tastes like candy!!!
