Jen - Come on - we can do it..... I also have 5 to lose by Thanksgiving. I am just upping my exercise and staying away from nuts etc. Let's do it together - 5 POUND BY THANKSGIVING!!!!!
Jingle - I'll respond to your post here on the daily chat for today in a few min.
You're absolutely right Kim and thanks for the kick in the pants. There are still 2 weeks from today for me to get those 5 pounds off. You said that dratted "E" word, though. I'm sure if I could just scare up some discipline in that area, I'd be doing better.
On the up side, I am drinking more water and doing a little (very little, like maybe 10 minutes) walking during the day. There's still a chance.
Hey guys!! I know it's not Monday yet, but I'm too excited to wait until then to post my weight loss - - - 8 POUNDS!!!
That's 8 pounds in 5 days - I'm freaking out!!
I'm so happy!. My family and I went out to eat this evening to my FAVORITE Mexican restaurant and I was fine. I didn't eat the chips and salsa that flowed freely throughout the meal. I didn't want the guacamole that I absolutely adore. I was just fine with my grilled chicken and gave my refried beans and sweet corn cakes that came with my dinner to my kids. I know there will be pitfalls along the way (I have a lot to lose and a long way to go) but right now I am flying high and super-motivated!! I am losing all this weight and there is just nothing and noone going to stop me!!!
Wooo hoooo! Way to go, Jingle! Not only did you lose 8 pounds, but you're doing great on staying away from the "bads" and establishing good eating habits which will make you successful in maintaining your weight loss. Great job!!!
I have to ask. This thread has intimidated me because of its size and because I don't really know what it means. Can you tell me what all the challenges are about? The champagne challenge, etc.? How does it all work? Can I join? What are the rules and is it too late? Thanks skinny women!
Yippee! The stall is over. I hope I copied the right thing. It was the last one I could find.
Jamie - If you check out the first post of the challenge threads, you'll find the explanation of what's going on. You don't have to read them all. Just join in if you want to.
I guess it doesn't make sense for me to do a Turkey challenge. I'll keep on losing but I'm all in for a Christmas challenge or new years. Maybe start a new thread for that one on the day after thanksgiving. Turn over a new leaf, new size with the new year. In the mean time I guess I can pledge 3 pounds by Turkey day. Think that's reasonable. Hooha!!
Jamie-the new years challenge is in the LOW CARB forum. It started on Nov 1 but you can join in anytime! If you know your weight as of Nov 1, you can use the weight you have lost so far already toO!
Look at you Jingles! 8 pounds. Great job. And I'm so glad to hear that you're losing again too Star Princess.
Don't know what I'll see tomorrow. Went to Portland with DD for an ice-skating competition and ate at restaurants the whole time. One thing about low-carbing, though, is there are very few "hidden no-nos". I skipped the bread, potatoes and ate only meat, cheese, eggs and veggies. Think I did O.K., but I did eat more than I needed to get full. Had some garlic-sauteed mushrooms last night that were to die for!
I'll check in tomorrow.
