As I expected, I am exactly what I was last Sunday - 185.5. If just a half pound would go away, I could add 1 pound to my valentine's day loss, dangit!!!
I don't feel so great today, but I'm going to try to pull it together and get to the gym with my fiance today to get a good workout in. We've got some great healthy food lined up for this week, and once again I'll be trying my hardest to NOT stray from the menu. |
I'm still here - down 4 lbs from my starting point so that's a big chunk gone off my V-day goal.
Congrats to all the losers and 'hang in there' to all the plateau-ers |
Hello! I am down 1 pound now for my Valentine goal. One more pound and I will be in the 140's again!:carrot: I'm doing well on exercise (need to change my ticker) and have everything on track for now. I joined a lot of challenges and that really motivated me!:)
|
I know it's a little late but I'm going to join the valentine's day challenge. I want to loose 10lbs by Valentine's day. Hubby and I have started a healthy eating regimen that began on the 3rd. Tonight is baked fish and baked seasoned potato wedges.
Any suggestions for how to get some exercise in for a working woman with a 2 month old and 2 nights a week of Grad school which means 5 nights a week of homework???? http://www.3fatchicks.net/img/heartb...0/170/180/.png |
I'm not sure if I can post a link or not, but I've heard of "mommy" exercises that involve your child, so you get to spend some fun time with the baby while getting some exercise at the same time.
Here's an example: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art9571.asp |

I just signed up for the Discovery Health Body Challenge. I don't know much about it, but the whole "every day you post your weight or an exercise in your journal, you are registered to win 1 million dollars" part caught my eye.
I've got 3FC, I've got FitDay, and now Discovery health! Thank god for the internet! Anyone else signed up? |
Million bucks? I'm heading over there now...thanks!!!
FINALLY...the last re-gained pound is gone...I am back to 157, which represents a 70 lb drop since April. Now, I'm headed for 152 - I like "milestone" numbers like 75 :) Today's calories in - about 1600, calories out - no idea since I have been running errands & doing family stuff for the past 13 hours, but I am sure I've burned more than 1600 today just by breathing! |
Well I'm down to 175, so that's er... 11lbs to go :o It might happen although I'm a bit wary about the birthday scoffing that happened yesterday! I had cake, and chocolates and chinese, fortunately the cake I had for breakfast didn't agree with me too well, so I had a very light lunch - I suppose that's damage limitation!
|
Ennay and Smart Butt thanks for the advice! I'm going to definitely look into the mommy exercises. And Ennay I think you're right. I'm going to have to get up early to work out. He usually wakes up between 4:30 and 5am for a feeding so I guess I'll just stay up and work out. I am proud to say that I got my exercise ball out last night and I put my laptop on the coffee table so now I sit on my exercise ball when I'm at the computer. Bound to be working some core muscles right??? Well, thanks again ladies.

Way to go everyone. I am down 3.5 lbs. for the challenge....need to step it up a notch.
Keep up the great work everyone. Phyllis |
Whoo! Congrats Phyliss and to everyone else who lost this week :)
Bobbi--Good for you for putting in more time at the fitness center. Working out and improving my fitness level has actually been more important to me than losing weight. If I can run five miles without dying I will be beyond happy. Looking hot in a skirt would just be the extra bonus! I'm possibly up half a pound or I'm the same. I don't have a digital scale so it's hard to figure out exactly where I am. I only worked out three days this week, but since I am in the midst of finals plus I have 12 extra class hours this week, I'm glad i worked out at all! My food has been perfectly reasonable this week, except for one day that was a little out of control. All in all I'm happy with it. |
Hi y'all! Just checking in, since I hadn't been by in a couple of days. I had a bad day yesterday, but today I was all good and back on track. I'm major bloated right now so I am staying away from the scale for a couple of days, tho.
Keep up the great work! |
I missed talking to ya all yesterday, I posted on Calories Counters than my cp internet when haywire. I'm half way home on the Valentine's challenge and 37 days to go. (5.2 weeks) I need to lose about a pound a week, how about anyone else. Have you figured out what you need to lose to meet your goal? Monday's calories....1,111, fat 2 22%.
Phyliss...I love dogs, can you post a picture of your Doberman? How long do you and doggie walk, good motivation for you. Melissa...Good luck :crossed:on Friday's WI, we'll be watching for your results. :crossed: SmartButt... Can I be your best friend and share your million bucks from the Discovery Health challenge? :woohoo: Robsia...Congrats on the 5 pound loss, you're really trying! Stopeating...We're close in weight, I've got 1/2 pound to go before I hit the 140's. Lets do this together, 1st one to hit the 140's is not the rotten egg! 4Me... I love to hear about couples going into life style changes together. I've heard horror stories about one of the spouses eating healthy and the other spouse giving no support, even sabotaging her. My DH doesn't need to lose weight, but he supports me and eats whatever I do. Congrats to you both and we're glad you joined the Valentine's challenge. :welcome2: ennay...I agree about getting your work-outs in early. I applaud you too, it's not easy with an infant and nursing. :bb: Paula...Hi neighbor, you and your angel been walking the skyways? I'm glad to see you back down in weight. Do you ever wear a pedometer? Too bad Fitday doesn't have a catagory for walkers that reach 10,000 steps a day. (Or do they?) 2Frustrated and Tami...Hang in there girls, you've still got 5 weeks + to lose. Electon...Only 5 more pounds to reach 2-14 goal. Me too! We have to average 1 pound a week, can you do it? You all know how I hate to exercise, but Blue Cross/Blue Shield is covering most of the fee for us, the one hitch is we both have to go 20 times a month to the Fitness Center. That's 4 days a week and we have to drive into town to reach it. (We're country folks) I hate the driving part too, what a crab I am. Well, I better check in with the Biggest Losers challenge and the Calories Counters..............Later, Bobbi |
My weight was holding steady for what seemed like forever, but I finally saw some movement on the scale.
|
Well, I'm still trying to figure out the whole exercise thing. It gets a whole lot easier starting Feb. 1 when my mom will be keeping my baby. DH will be taking baby to mom's in the AM so I can get up and leave the house as early as I want to work out.
In the mean time I'm going to work out at home in the evenings using my exercise ball and dumb bells. I've found some good work outs on line. Good news is, the scales FINALLY budged this morning. I started low-cal on 1/2 and this morning I was down 2lbs! Yea!! Only 8 to go until Valentine's. I think I can do it. Just going to have to get this flabby butt moving!!! |
Good news - I am down to 156, which means I am down 4 in the Valentine's Day challenge! My exercise yesterday was chasing Fiona all night (midnight-7am) because she's on her own schedule right now and there's not much I can do about it.
|
I've moved back to school and I'm worried. We don't have a scale in my room nor do any of my friends! I really don't want to buy one, but I'm going to have to figure *something* out.At the very least so I can report back on the challenge :) I have 5 pounds left to lose, which might not seem like a lot, but I'm worried. Really worried, in fact. I usually plan on .5 pounds loss a week, so I would have to double up my efforts. A friend of mine had an emotional crisis last night which meant I was up until 6:00 am this morning, and I still have 30 or so pages to write before Friday. And then more studying. And then I have the LSAT's. Grrr. Sorry for complaining to y'all, but I'm writing about my stresses rather than eating them :)
And good work, everyone. I really enjoy reading about all the success you all have. People have made big jumps this week! Big congrats to Paula and 4me4Ben! Wahoo!! |
Psh, you've only got 4 lbs to go - I still have 10!!!
*whimpering* |
Electron is there anywhere on campus you could go to weigh like a work out center or something?? I'm so proud of you for writing about your stresses instead of eating them. I'm such an emotional eater. I totally know how that goes.
Paula I totally know what you mean about Fiona being on her own schedule. I've just finally gotten my baby, almost 3 months old, into a routine where he will sleep more than 4 hours at a time. However, the time between his 4:30 feeding and my 6:00 wake up time is coming in very handy for workouts. Unfortunately, it makes me very grumpy at work and I'm quite sure my students don't appreciate it. You gals are all doing a great job. I think we should all reward oursevles with cute lingerie if we reach our goals. Even if you don't have a dh or significant other to wear it for, it's always motivating to feel pretty! |

Weighed in at 138.6 this morning.
Four pounds to go! I should be able to do it in the next five weeks. :-) |
I only have 4 lbs to go, but I am self sabotaging like crazy lately. sigh.
|
Bobbi, I can't seem to post a photo of my Doberman. He is 12 yrs. old but looks like and acts like he is 2 yrs. old. He is black & tan and his ears are not cropped.
I'll keep trying to post one. Was up 1.5 lbs from yesterday!!!!! We ate out last night so I guess it was sodium in the food, I kept at about 1500 cal. for the day so hopefully I'll be back down tomorrow.....drinking lots of water today. Phyllis |
35 Days and counting:love:
Let's see what we're all made of, determination, stamina and full speed ahead:sumo: In my case stubbornness! My DH always says I'm like a bulldog with a bone who won't let go of it. Webweevil... Good job, down 6 lbs. :woo: Paula... congrats on 156 weigh in. :goodscale: Electron... I second the advice from 4me. Do you have supportive room mates? I've read so many times about girls leaving home for college and gaining lots of weight. I hope you have roomies that watch their weight too! :belly: Diva... I can't wait to be 138, way to go! Rusty... I put a picture of "Charlie" up in the pet thread but I can't remember how to do it either. I'll have to work on it and let you know. :chin: P.S. Maybe you need to detox for a day to rid your body of salt. Tami... 3 lbs. down and ennay only 4 to go, hang in there! Smart Butt, I'll cut the other one off if the scale doesn't cooperate pretty soon! My calories for Wednesday were 1,190 and fat 24%. Wishing you all good food choices today, Bobbi |
Naturally the scale is a pound UP from yesterday.
But, my boobs are killing me so I know it's just from good ol' premenstrual water retention. Bobbi - sure you don't want to come back to PMSing?? ;) I will just stick to my caloric/exercise plan and hopefully see a nice drop once the water weight goes away next week. |
Whew!!!! lost the 1.5 lbs. I was up from eating out....I was sure it was the sodium....drinking the extra water helped flush it out.
Will be very good today....Phyllis |
I've been stuck on 150 lbs. for the last 5 days, the scale better sing to me pretty soon. I haven't cheated and drank all my water/exercised everyday. I'm so wanting to get in the 140's, but wishing doesn't work.
My calories for yesterday >>>>>1,109 Fat>>>>>>28% Bobbi |
down 1.2
3.2 to go! |
Still hangin' in with 156-157...I have been walking for cardio instead of doing the elliptical and I think that has made a difference in my weight loss *sigh*
But, walking for cardio beats channel surfing for cardio :) |
Good Saturday Morning Everyone!:coffee: I'm on my 3rd cup of coffee and want to chat. Where is everyone, it's 5:45AM. You should all be up and putting your running shoes on, we only have 33 days left.
As of Monday the 8th-Today we have the following weight loss: 2 Frustrated...(?) I don't know where you started, you'll have to fill us in. 4Me ...4 pounds down Floridarusty...3.5 pounds down Electron...5 pounds down Tami...3 pounds down webweevil...5 pounds down Paula...3 pounds down Smart Butt...What's happening? Diva...4 to go but we don't know what weight you started from so we don't know what you've lost for the Valentines challenge. ennay...same with you, we don't know what weight you were at the beginning of the Valentines challenge, just that you have 3 pounds to go. Edited..........7 pounds down, WOW! Bobbi...I'm down 6 pounds and 4 to go. Next monday lets consentrate on staying within our food goal and eatting healthy meals. Stay away from junk foods and fast foods one week, just do it. One week and let's see those scales sing to us. :goodscale: Before you know it 2-14 will be here and when we look back will we be able to say, "I tried real hard". P.S. Robsia, didn't mean to leave you out, congrats on the 5 pound loss. |
I've lost 5 lbs.
|
Well, I had a couple bad eating nights this week and am hoping that by my Monday weigh in down a bit. I did my 1 mile walking dvd yesterday and will try to do it everyday to help.
Thanks Bobbi for keeping track of all this. Everyone seems to be losing at least a little (except for TOM ladies) so let's get this moving everyone. Be interesting to see how much we lose as a group also. Phyllis |
Bobbi - well....I started it the day I made my NYG which was 160 on 12/17. So 7 down 3 to go. I try to keep weightloss at ~ 1 lb per week since I am nursing.
|
I joined the challenge on 12/23 - right after dropping 4 pounds in 1 week. My body hasn't been able to drop more since then, but most of the time in December was not great eating.
Since 1/1, I looked at my calorie deficit and I'm at 3327 - so I need a little more of a deficit before I'll see another pound. I'm ok with the fact that I'm "losing" the challenge. I know that what I'm doing now is better than what I was doing before. That's enough for me right now. |
Good Morning...just a short message, I have to shower and get ready for Church.
Saturday's Journal: Calories @ 1,100 Fat @ 26% Yesterday I finally dropped into the 140's, just barely at 149.5.. This morning I was down to 148 and I think it was a fluke! I'm not going to change my ticker because it'll probably be back up tomorrow. Have a great day......Bobbi |
Hi Bobbolink - We are in the same boat. I'm at 150 and trying to get into the 140's. :) This week I had pizza three different times and a gathering with junk food last night so I really did not want to weigh myself today but I did. To be honest, I was thrilled that I did not gain!;) I'm ready to get back on track!:)
|
reasonable
i want to lose minimum 6 pounds by valentines day... i think thats a reasonable goal do you?
|
Well I'm a whole 0.25lbs lighter than I was when I started this challenge! I just gained over Christmas and lost it again  But at least I'm a LITTLE bit lighter.
|
Good Morning Girls!
This will be a short message, we're on our way outside to shovel snow. Ennay... You're the leader, 7 pounds down, Congrats to you. What an inspiration you are, especially since you're a nursing mom and still losing weight. Fl-Mom... I just roughly calculated and we're at about 45 pounds down total. We've lost lots of starters that weren't committed enough, I'm glad you all had the stamina to carry through. Stopeatting... Yes, I noticed we're about the same weight with one huge difference. You have 4 lovely inches on me. I'm only 5'3", used to be 5' 4" but have shrunk with age.:dizzy: It feels good to be in the 140's. Laura... :welcome2: Yes, it's possible to lose 6 pounds by Valentine's day but you're really going to have to watch it and exercise. We have 31 days left counting today, divide that by 6 pounds and you have to lose 0.19 pound a day or 1.3 pounds a week. Can you do it? We'll try to keep you motivated. 2 Frustrated... .25 is better than 'nutin! Is there something we can do to help you? Administer Chinese Torture, chain you up to a pole with only bread and water? You name it, we'll help you out. SmartButt... Same goes for you! Later.....Bobbi |
